Oh noes, I was tagged
General | Posted 14 years ago
bazzcollie tagged me, if he still remembers :P Kinda took my time with this >_> *blushes*1. Your Real Name.
Mike
2. Name three bands/musicians you are listening to lately.
Maroon 5, Erasure, Frankmusik (wow I'm such a fag...)
3. Dirty or Clean?
Context? ;P
4.Tattoos and/or Piercings?
Shiny bar through my ear ^^
5. What's your philosophy on life?
If something inside of you kicking and screaming to be recognized, maybe you should listen to it...
6. Is the bottle half-full or half-empty?
depends what's in it :P
7.What is your favorite memory?
Being snuggled up amongst my friends after leaving my ex and realizing I didn't have to hide who I was anymore
8. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
Campy, trashy, stereotypically gay dance music :P
9. Tell me one odd/interesting fact about you.
I've never broken a single bone in my body, and I've got no scars or anything - and I'm a huge wimp as a result of that :P
10. You can have 3 wishes (for yourself, forget all the 'world peace etc' ) - what are they?
A job in a prestigious research library, a cute little house for me and mine, and maybe some confidence for once
11. What is your big weakness?
Lack of emotional barriers... I tend to entangle myself in others people's emotions and problems as if they were my own.
12. Do you think I'm a good person?
You're not a person, you're a survey :P Silly survey
13. If you could change anything about yourself, would you?
duh
14. What do you wear to sleep?
Usually nothing >_>
15. If I only had one day to live, what would you wish me?
Throw your inhibitions to the wind and have fun damn it
Now I suppose I have to tag someone... so I choose
silvernight you little fluff pup :Pbitter jealousy with a dash of loneliness
General | Posted 14 years agoI do not recommend living beneath someone who is blindly and blissfully in love as a means of nursing a broken heart...
but I suppose it is better than living with an abusive boyfriend
(oh look, past few years summed up in a few sentences)

Cuba Libre, be my love tonight
General | Posted 17 years agoJust a few days now before my friends and I head off to Varadero for a weekend of sand, sun, surf, and sex.
Ok, maybe not so much the last one... depends how much rum everyone consumes...
I'm uber excited about this, especially since the furthest south I've ever been geographically is Detroit, just below that southern-most tip of Ontario. So I've never been anywhere remotely tropical. Unless the Biodome in Montreal counts... which... I don't think it does.

How to make friends with the Australian exchange student
General | Posted 17 years agoWhen he asks the class if they know what vegemite is, tell him it's the inferior version of marmite :P
I have a feeling this could be an interesting class though, it's all about the British Empire and, being Australian, as you can imagine, he has a slightly different opinion on the matter than I do :P

Jamster? In MY country?
General | Posted 17 years agoI just saw their commercial with that crazy gummy bear on acid... I remember so many people across the pond complaining couple years back when they came out with Crazy Frog, but I kinda thought I'd just be safe from that sorta stuff way out here... Dear Gods WHY?!
Ugh. I'm just so disgusted right now, I don't know how else to describe it.
Well, at least I'm no longer in high school, so I should be able to avoid the brunt of it...

Molested on the train by an old woman o_o
General | Posted 17 years agoYeah, I'm on the LRT heading home, listening to my ipod, generally zoned out, and I feel someone sit next to me. Next thing I know, there are fingers running though my hair while this voice crones, "You're such a goood boy..." o_o
Luckily that's all it amounted to, after that she seemed content to just talk out loud about random subjects to anyone listening, and randomly burst into laughter after a few minutes of silence. Whilst I tried my hardest to physically shrink into the corner between my seat and the train wall, thinking, "Dear goddess, don't touch me again!" O_O

My two cents regarding the election
General | Posted 17 years agoI think it's amusing that all of us Canadians are more excited about the American election than our own... maybe it's because after the last few years, we're used to our elections meaning the government is just going to change again in two years...
Wait, weren't you supposed to put an end to all that, Mr. Harper? Hmmm, I guess not...

Stabbed in the back by the Church...
General | Posted 17 years agoMost people don't know, but my dad's an Anglican priest. And quite the orthodox Christian too. So I'm sure you can imagine that caused all sorts of issues between us, especially with the regards to the whole gay issue. My dad's a lot more intelligent than those Westboro Baptist twits and doesn't go around claiming, "God hates fags, burn in hell!!" But at the same time he is utterly convinced that homosexuality is wrong, unnatural, not in accordance with God's "plan" and the Church should absolutely not bless any kind of "Same Sex Marriage".
Well, it would appear that the Anglican Church of Canada disagrees with his more traditional views on the faith, and it would appear they've also had enough of my dad preaching against the direction the Anglican Church of Canada of going...
So they fired him. Not only did they fire him, they set it by putting his Parish under a review but decided to omit telling him anything about it, including not telling him several key procedures he had to undertake during this process, so that in the end it looked like he was fired for not taking care of his parish.
My family, including my 15 year old brother who has yet to finish high school, have been told they have until the end of June to leave the Rectory or they'll be forcibly removed. My family does not have enough money to buy a new house. Nor do they have enough money to rent. They have no one they can really move in with. My dad has no qualifications for any kind of job except as a pastor...
So to sum up, the Anglican Church of Canada has just thrown my family onto the streets over my dad's personal religious convictions. You know, I used to be rather optimistic over how the Church seems to have been getting more and more "tolerant" lately... evidently it was all one big lie.

Gay Housewifery
General | Posted 17 years agoYesterday I ended up baking up a storm after classes, as well as my usual making supper. My first project was banana bread, because we had this huge pile of bananas that were just sitting there turning black and one of them didn't even hold together when I tried to pick it up, so something had to be done... the end result was amazing! Just a single loaf, since I only have the one pan (which, now that I know how easy this stuff is, must be changed...) but it's gorgeous, it's toasted lightly golden along the crust and the inside is the perfect texture, all moist and fluffy. It's beautiful! And it tastes amazing too. I'm really, really impressed with myself ^^
The second venture was apple crisp. This didn't go quite as well as I hoped... the end result was more "baked apples with cinnamon and a loose, dry layer of brown sugar and oatmeal that flies in all directions when attempted to be moved" rather a cohesive crisp. Still tastes great... I mean, how can baked apples with cinnamon not taste amazing? But I think I'm going to have to tinker with the recipe to get the dry layer on top a little less dry, and more held together and chewy.

I am now a Starbucks twink...

No Subject
General | Posted 18 years agoEver get that feeling where you sit back and look at your work and think to yourself, "My gods... I'm basically just redoing everything Joss Whedon did (or... insert famous source of all your ideas here). I have nothing original :S"
Like, what do you do? Do you keep trying to be completely original and possibly in the process simply achieve nothing or just roll with it and see what happens?

Going back for Christmas...
General | Posted 18 years agoI think moving to the city has spoiled me... everytime I go to visit my family in Athabasca, which is on the very edge of frigid, frozen, northland nowhere... like, the last line of civilization in Alberta (No, Fort MacMurray doesn't count...) I find myself really missing everything that gets left behind.
Like transit... Starbucks... stores that stay open after six... more than one restaurant... movie stores that actually stock new releases... sidewalks that shoveled clear of snow on a regular basis... 24 hour convenience stores that are right around the corner, not a twenty minute walk away, up and down hills in both direction...
Seriously, I used to live my life just fine without all these things, then I spend about a year in the city and suddenly I can't live without them, even for a week...
Hmmm, I guess I should add my boyfriend to that list... :P
