Yep, I'm still around, in case you haven't noticed. Just haven't had anything to post lately - I can't seem to find the will to write lately, and requests have been few and far between. There are a couple art pieces I should probably throw at my gallery, but I've been lazy about it(read: LAZY, not ungrateful).

Another week come and gone.

Another week I feel like I'm in the passenger seat of a car that someone else is driving and I can't get out.

Another week I feel like I'm on the outside looking in.

Another week of the same old shit.

Another week of trying to paddle upstream and getting nowhere.

Another week that I'm not sure how I made it.

Another week that I'll have to grudgingly go through.

Another week which I need to quit bitching about.

Another week which I want to cry out for the attention I don't deserve.

Another week these walls are put up.

Another week that might bring something better.

Another week that I know I'm lying to myself.

I'm not sure what this was supposed to accomplish, if anything, but I just had the urge to put it into words. I'm not sure if this is considered poetry or random gibberish scribbled down by a monkey with a keyboard, but there it is - whatever the hell it actually is.

Not that you particularly give enough of a shit to hear about it, but I'll write some crap here anyways - some highs and lows.

So, the con itself was pretty awesome. I met loads of cool people, caught up with friends, and even randomly ran into one or two people I had first met online who recognized my name. I drank, I partied, I went to some writing panels they had, and acquired a few air-powered confetti guns in the charity auction along with some other not-so-interesting stuff. All in all, the con was not a disappointment in the least. It was a great, fun time. Also, the theme this year was Doctor Who. For the fans of the show, the security staff(also known as Animal Control) had two signs to show their status; there was "Keep Calm and Carry On" then "Time to Panic and Freak Out." During the opening ceremonies, Tyger Cowboy(the con chair, for those that don't know) came out on stage from a TARDIS that they had build, which was also availible for pictures afterward. Before you start bludgeoning me for them, I didn't take any pictures. I'm not big on pictures. If you really want to see some, I'm sure that google will provide them if you ask nicely. Other highlights included: the firing of a steampunk'd out potato gun from some cool guys decked out in appropriate steampunk gear who were also in a band called The Aeronauts(they held a show, but I missed it unfortunately), a guy calling himself Ferret Jesus who was dressed up in robes and had the long hair and beard and was teaching poi and contact juggling, a talent show that featured some pretty good acts, and participating in several games of "Werewolf" similar to the forum game except played in an actual gathering(which I vastly prefer over the forum version). There were a couple of boring parts, but no real lows at the con itself. I greatly look forward to attending it next year.

But, a few low points now, just because they're on my mind. I kind of didn't want the con to end, but I knew it had to eventually. It's rare that I get to go to gatherings like that and actually feel comfortable walking up to a random stranger and striking up a conversation without feeling weird about it. There are a few other things(completely unrelated to MFM) that I could probably go into, but I won't, simply for the fact that at this point I feel like it would be just be a bunch of endless and probably pointless bitching and whining. I'll just say that either I'm heading for another depressive crash, or it's simply because I've been awake for roughly 24 hours now with no sleep and I know that tomorrow I'll wake up with the same soul-crushing blackhole staring me in the face that there was before the con. I'm not sure which, but I should probably stop here for now.

So yeah, awesome 4-day excursion to con, and now I'm back to troll all of you as I normally do.

I don't write journals very often as many of you know, and even rarer of an occurance is when I actually share some version of emotion that is not anger or levity. The title of this journal should have been warning enough as to what this will contain from this point forward.

So, I've heard somewhere that writing about things that bother you can be theraputic to some extent, so let's give this a shot, because bottling it up doesn't seem to be working all that much any more.

Earlier tonight, I went out with some close friends of mine. We shot some billiards, had a bit to drink, met other people at IHOP and played card games. It was a great time with great people. I had fun pretty much the entire time and can't remember a single down point except for realizing that it was time for everyone to part ways and go home, which is just fine because I know that has to happen eventually.

What's bothering me though is two primary things: I came home and checked a few of my usual sites and upon checking them, I came across some pictures(that I will not link, for my own reasons). Upon seeing said pictures, my mood imediately crashed into a depressive low, with feelings of loneliness, inadequacy, and worthlessness. My second thought was to ask why I feel this way, given what caused it. It shouldn't have. Doing my best to look at things from an outside perspective, I have no rational reason or right to feel this way upon the sight of some stupid fucking pictures on the internet. Seriously, what the fuck? Suffice to say, I loathe having emotions and being assaulted by them seemingly at random, over shit that doesn't make any logical sense.

I could go on a bit more, however I don't feel comfortable speaking about it in any more detail or depth within a public journal.

I just have to ask, is this an indication that I may be emotionally immature? Or did my separation and subsequent divorce over the last couple of years fuck me up even more than I thought it did?

All I'm certain of is that I fucking hate how the stupidest shit will send me into a depressive crash where the feelings listed above and more come to mind, especially when looking at lovey-dovey or cute couples art, or hearing about someone a person is with while I speak with them, whether the conversation is positive or negative. It makes me want to lash out at people, and that makes me recoil away from contact with anyone - sometimes after I've already lashed out. The whole time, what overpowers me is how I should just man the fuck up and deal with it, then those feelings come back twofold when I try to push them down but can't make them go away, regardless of what occupy myself with unless I crawl into a bottle or pipe.

Then I think that I should fix it by just saying fuck everyone. Fuck FA, fuck FAF, fuck FB, fuck AIM, fuck skype, and fuck every other site and messenger I'm on. Fuck the internet, I'll go without it and be better off. Then I wonder if anyone would even miss me. I've been accused of being a bastard, manipulative, an asshole, alienating people, a jerk, paranoid, ungrateful, and many other things that aren't coming to mind right now. I can't help but wonder if all of my online "friends" are actual friends and not just showing some measure of kindness out of the unwritten law of common courtesy. I know that I'm not the friendliest guy around. It's a wall, which I've heard is unhealthy, but I can't help but think that if this is the way I feel when I'm actively attempting to guard myself against these exact feelings, how am I going to hold my shit together if I manage to remove the wall? The only logical answer I keep coming back to is that I would feel even worse, essentially taking the lesser of two things that suck.

Going back to what I was saying about wondering if my friends are even really friends, I observe quite a lot(at least, I think I do) and notice that the people I'm friends with seem to attract people to them. They're the first ones to get an IM, they're the one that has random messages left on their pages, random friendly notes left in their inbox, and random things given to them. All without asking for it. I can't help but wonder, why only them? Why not me too? Why don't I have someone who I'm the closest to, and who is closest to me? What the fuck am I doing wrong here?

Meh.. I guess that's enough incessant bitching for now. Answer some of my questions or don't, I really can't bring myself to give much of a shit at this point. I don't expect anyone to read this garbage anyway.

Right. So. Now that I have your attention, I have a question to ask..

What the bloody fuck is up with all this angst against FA admins lately?

I'm not defending them here and I'm not saying they're perfect, but when I logged in today, I found several journals getting all pissy at the FA admin team.

No, they're not perfect. Despite what you may like to believe, they're human and do make mistakes, just like the rest of us.

What I'm asking for here is the proof from one side or another on these problems and supposed "injustices" that have been done by them.

I always get highly skeptical about ridiculous claims when I haven't seen what it is that is being claimed firsthand, and even moreso when it leads to some vague mob-like activity.

Some of the claims I've read lately have not been backed up with any proof on either side of the issue(for or against), and the general presentation of it simply leads me to believe that some of these people are screaming and ranting likely for the attention of it, because of some miscommunication, due to a lack of understanding, or some combination there of.

That being said, I know that we all like to support our friends in what they do, but I don't care to blindly follow random accusations when it causes the person making them to be no better than the ones they're slinging these accusations at should they be true.

Throwing around accusations without documentation to back them up and relying on people to take it on faith is a weak, fallacious tactic that will only result in a lot angst on both sides, which will ultimately accomplish nothing but creating bad blood.

TL;DR: Where's the proof the admins are horrible, power abusing monsters? Where's the proof they're not? Think about and learn the full situation before picking a side.

So, I've been reflecting on a few things recently and something that was said a while back got me thinking..

During my months here on FA that you guys have known me, have I changed at all? And if so, how? Is it for better or worse?

I don't believe I've changed any, but looking at situations from the inside lends a subjective point of view, which can vastly differ from the objective view on the outside.

And while we're on the subject of change, are there any traits about me that you believe I should change? If so, what are they and why?

I'd just like to take a moment to say thank you for the art that you produce, whether it is for me or not, and whether you have given me anything or not.

Art is one thing that brightens up my day when I see a piece that I enjoy or find comical. Sometimes it helps pick me up or calm me down, sometimes it inspires me to write or just fills my head with ideas.

Your livestreams and watchtails are usually fun to hang out in, and seeing a piece go from a blank window to a full picture inspires a bit of awe in me.

I'd like to give an extra thanks for those artists that draw not for the sake of profit(even though they may take commissions), but those that draw because they enjoy it. The artists that draw just for the sake of drawing rather than having another dollar in their pockets. These artists that you can see the passion and effort in their pieces because they're inspired and they want to make something other than a bit of cash.

So yeah. Thank you, artists out there. Even if I don't comment on your work all the time, I still appreciate getting to see it.

This journal is only targeted to a select few people, and they should be fully aware of who they are by the time they're done reading this. I'm not going to mention names here, and I don't care to give details beyond what I mention here, and this one journal is all you're going to hear of it from me.

So, apparently I've been "blacklisted" from a group of people. A group of people that I considered good friends until I found out some of them would sooner be rid of me and follow a couple of other outspoken individuals rather than attempt to see anything from my perspective.

If you'd rather do that and shit on my loyalty, that's fine. Helps me weed out the two-faced fuckoffs that will smile at me then talk shit behind me, as well as the ones that would rather go ahead and participate in such discussions without bothering to see exactly what my take on the situation was.

Now that I've eaten, there are a few things I would like to discuss, or at least share some thoughts on.

If you're wondering why I'm posting here instead of on the forum, this probably has nothing to do with you. This has nothing to do with a lot of people that are watching me, and is primarily venting.

Consistancy. How fucking hard is it to keep a consistant stance on something? When one individual performs the same action as another individual, regardless of the action in question, should your reaction to each situation not be similar, if not identical?

Let's set up a hypothetical here:

Person A performs an action. Person B reacts to person A's action. The nature of the action and the nature of the reaction are not the issue here and are irrelevent.

Person C performs the same action that person A did. Person B's reaction to the action that person C did is a polar opposite one from that of person B's reaction when person A performed the original action.

The reasoning behind any of the actions is irrelevent. What is relevent is the inconsistancy of person B in this hypothetical. Should person B not have had the same reaction to both instances, given that it was the same stimuli that each time? Is person B in this example not contradictory?

If I am incorrect in this belief, someone please fucking explain it to me because it makes no damn sense to me otherwise.

Being offended. Let's pretend, for a moment, that we're all mature adults here, and we're able to logically separate a harmless joke from a stab at offending someone.

Does it not stand to reason that if someone claims that they can joke about anything, that anything would go in a joke? Is it not hypocritical for a person to take offense at the subject material of a joke when they, themselves, had claimed that anything placed in a certain context was simply in the name of fun and jest?

One picture is little different from another, is it not? Obviously there are some things that those below a certain age should not be exposed to, but once you've passed that age, whether a picture contains nudity or sexual acts or is cartoony and harmless is all the same when taken in context of an adult viewer.

Now, this isn't be confused with saying that no one has the right to be offended - they certainly do. What I'm attempting to point out here is that being offended at one thing is little different than being offended at something else.

To put it in the context of another hypothetical:

Person A is offended by pornography. Person B is offended by water bottles. If person C is going to respect that person A is offended by pornography, should they not respect that person B is offended by water bottles as well? Is it not hypocritical as well to say that person A being offended by pornography is just fine while person B being offended by water bottles is idiotic and stupid?

Please, let me know if I'm wrong in my hypothesis here.

I'm done with this for now, but there are a couple of other things I would like to mention since I'm fully aware that this journal will be found and passed around:

I do not need your approval. I will not kiss your ass to be your friend. I have people that are more important to me than you will ever be. If you do not like, if you do not like what I have to say, you can go fuck yourself, because I probably am not sorry for any of it.

There are certain people I don't like. Just because I don't like them, that does not mean I have a grudge to hold against them. It means that I do not like them, and little more. I have my reasons for not liking these people that are on my shit list, and whatever you say will probably fail to sway my opinion of them. If you'd like to get off my shit list, you're the one that needs to work at it.

I will not say anything about one person that I would hesitate to say to their face. I failed to remember that lesson once and was reminded of it in a harsh way. It will not be forgotten again.

If you have a problem with me of any variety, come to me and talk about it with some measure of civility, and I will extend the same courtesy. If you take no effort to resolve it and decide to degrade to catty remarks and being snippy, chances are higher that I will tell you to fuck right off than pressure you about it. If you're too immature to handle things properly, I don't need you around me anyway and you will not be missed. I have better things to give my attention to than wondering why anyone doesn't like me.

If you jump on the bandwagon with everyone else about something and don't take the time to research or ask and simply go with the crowd as opposed to forming your own opinions about someothing or someone, I will not respect you in the slightest. This is not a cry against the "mainstream" or the "in crowd." It is a statement that I respect individuality and have no mercy for sheet that play follow the leader.

That's about enough of that for now, I believe I've gotten it all off my chest.

That's right, this isn't just another journal whoring out some random artist that I may or may not be getting bribed to advertise. >P

I want to sharpen my skills as a writer by putting out some short storys that I can only hope some of you might enjoy reading.

As you're probably already aware, those of you that pay attention regularly, I've recently finished off my first short story that I care enough to actually have anyone read. The feedback that I got was primarily positive and it made me feel great knowing that you guys enjoyed my work!

So here's the deal, as the title of his journal says, I'd like to do another trade of some sort.

What you get:

-A short story up to approximately 10 pages. Actual length will vary depending on how much story there is to write about - there are simply too many variables to be able to give a number more specific than that.

-The story may contain the depiction of any character you like - yours, mine, your friends'(with proper permission sent to me by them of course). For now, I would like to keep the cast fairly small, though it is negotiable. I am also capable of creating characters needed to fill any role the story calls for.

-Nearly any uncensored(or censored, if requested) content the story calls for - I have very few limits on what I will write: violence, sex(with the exception of some fetishes - this will be discussed privately), drug use, and other mature/adult situations. I'm not very squeemish, I promise.

-As accurate of a portrayal of the involved characters as I can manage - I will gather all the information I can from you or whomever created the given character so that I can give you the most precise story that I can.

-Several work-in-progress updates if you would like them. This is to ensure that you are enjoying how the story is written, that I am giving an accurate representation of the characters, that you like the direction of the story, and so that you end up with the best piece of literature I can muster for you.

-The right to critique, pick at, harass, and gnaw on me. As a matter of fact, I invite it. It helps keep me on track so that you get your piece sooner and I become a better and more focused writer.

What I would like from you:

-Some amount of patience with me. I primarily write when the mood strikes me, and I can't scare that up all the time. Usually if I try to force it, it will end up being shit.

-A piece of visual artwork. Make me an offer - I'm not picky, I promise. Color is loved, shading and backgrounds are things that are enjoyed quite a bit but I can easily live without. I have Cyanide and Lithium(each have visual references), and I have a third character that I'm still looking for help on concept art with but the catch is that his reference is text only(but you'd get a lot of creative freedom to have fun with it).

-I don't expect WIPs, the right to critique or harass you, or any other such grace. Being able to watch my piece be made on a stream would be nice, but isn't required by any means.

-You don't necessarily have to let me even choose a pose if the piece is more than an icon or head shot. I can present ideas if you would like, but I'm also perfectly content to let you have fun with it and do what you like.

I have a good friend,  voidrunners , who is putting out this webcomic called Exo*Genisis. Right now he posts every other Sunday, but he wants to move up the time frame and get things going a bit faster.

The catch is though that he has a full time job and he particularly dislikes coloring.

That's where you come in!

He needs someone that enjoys coloring in line-art and would be willing to work with him on this project. If you don't know him, he's a really cool guy and is dedicated to this thing. I'd love to see it get off the ground.

I don't know if he'll be offering anything in exchange for you help in this endeavor, but don't hesitate to contact him if you have any interest!

And no, before you start giving me shit, I haven't been bribed with free art to post this journal. >P
