Two years...
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, two years passed since my last journal. That means I'm 28 now... Yay. Expect next journal when I turn 30.
Well, Happy Birthday to me
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, I'm 26 today... Yay.
Not quite sure what else to say, other than I'm going to have to put up a different journal tomorrow. Oh what fun that'll be.

Coffee and keyboards do not mix
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, I'm now the proud owner of a Logitech Paperweight. I managed to spill my morning coffee on me Logitech Cordless Comfort keyboard, and now it had stopped working.
Right now, I'm using my "old" Microsoft Natural Multimedia. At least it's a split keyboard, and not a straight one. I really don't want my Carpal Tunnel flaring up. Quite a bit of a difference between the two though, the MS has more solid keys while the Logitech had more "softer" keys. Oh, and the MS has that dreaded F-Lock key. Most stupid "feature" ever! It wouldn't be so bad if it defaulted to "on", but no, they had to break compatibility with every damn thing out there by having the F-Keys send garbage scancodes by default. *Sigh*
Oh well, at least the cordless mouse still works. And hey, I get two extra Ni-MH batteries too, so I guess that's good...

Gotta love the newspaper
General | Posted 19 years ago"There are few fringe subcultures that give me the heebie-jeebies worse than 'furries,' those weirdos who have an unhealthy obsession with walking, talking animals. Sometimes they even draw creepy cartoon porn of anthropomorphic critter getting it on. Seriously, cut that out."
Oh yeah, gotta love the newspaper. This little tidbit was in this week's Toronto Sun, it was for a review of Star Fox Command. To be honest, I got a kick out of that intro, I didn't find it insulting or anything. I just hope that nobody actually took offense to it.
"When he's on leave, ace fighter pilot Fox McCloud likes to visit the 'Hen House,' if you know what we mean."
The reviewer did a good job though. Other than the little jab at 'Furries,' he reviewed the game quite well, getting down to the main points of the game. Makes me want to see about getting a DS, just so I can play the game.

amaroK's random has weird humor.
General | Posted 19 years agoOk, so I'm sitting here bored, got some updates for my system running in the background. So, I thought I'd listen to some music. Open up amaroK (It's kinda like WinAmp and iTunes, but for Linux, http://amarok.kde.org/ Check it out if you want.) Anyway, loaded up all my music, which is several months worth, smack random, and hit play. What should be first pick? One Winged Angel, Advent Children version. Honestly, what could be better for 06/06/06? ^_^
My unofficial disclaimer
General | Posted 20 years ago[Copy & Pasted from my DA account]
for those people that I'm watching, and are wondering why I don't have any art, it's because I have no artistic drawing talent. Trust me on this. I've even had several professional artist/art-teachers tell me this. Somewhere else is my artistic talent, I just have to find out where.
Pretty much, the problem lies in how my brain is "wired". Yes, I know that's a common excuse, but it's true. I see the scene in my head, but when I try to put it to paper, I can't. It's like the thing that translates that scene into what it should be on paper, whether it be written or drawn, is missing.
Right now, the only way I can even write something, like this journal, is if I actually imagine the words themselves. And for me, that's quite difficult. My imagination works on images and emotions. So putting those things into words is quite difficult.
Oh, and as some of you artists may have noticed, I don't comment much. Believe me, I would love to comment on every single pic you submit! But, I just find it hard to put into words what I feel about those pics. So for now, I guess when I +fav something, you can take it as that I really liked the pic. If I don't +fav it, it doesn't mean I didn't like it, just that it didn't meet some random criteria at the time. (Although, there is some standard criteria that I do use. I'll let ya know what they are when I do. ^_^) So yeah, if I do comment on your work, there's a good chance that I worked on said comment for quite a bit till it said what I felt at the time.

Everybody else on the planet is doing it...
General | Posted 20 years agoStolen from.... Oh just take your pick...
1. What is your character's name?
- CyberFoxx
2. What kind of character is it (furry, anime, etc) and any particular race?
- Mobian Vulpine
3. What is the first thing your character would think of when he/she first wakes up?
- "Stupid alarm, where's my gun..."
4. Your character's favorite outfit would be?
- Dark colored dress shirt with dark colored cargo pants. Sometimes wears an oilskin duster.
5. When your character looks into a mirror, what's the first thing they would notice?
- "For the love of! Another grey hair?"
6. Does your character have the same tastes in food as you?
- Yes.
7. How is your character similar to you?
- Personality, temperament, hobbies.
8. How is he/she different?
- Other than being a Furry, the whole wielding infinite power thing. Oh, and he does seem to have a bit more initiative than I do.
9. If your character could speak, would they have the same voice as you?
- Not too sure really, the whole skull structure and all that. But if it was possible, sure.
10. If you were to suddenly become your character, what do you think would be the first thing you would do as them?
- Go to a Furry Convention! Hey, that infinite power means I can protect myself. ^_^
11. Is there something about your character that you don't like how others think of them?
- Not that I've noticed... But I could be wrong.
12. What advantages does your character have over you?
- Appears to get along a bit better than I do with the opposite sex. Now, I don't mean he has an "Aura-of-smooth" or anything like that.
13. What disadvantages?
- Based on me, hence can be quite unstable at times.
14. Do you have any secrets relating to your character that only you know?
- Pretty much everything in my head that I haven't written down yet.
15. Do you have any secret drawings only you know about?
- Drawing would imply that I had any artistic talent.
16. Do you have any plans for your character or are you working on something big relating to him/her?
- Not really. I've been trying to keep him the way he is now. Mostly for documentation purposes.
17. What misconception(s), if any, do people have about your character?
- For some reason, from the name, people get the idea that he's a she. OK, so there was that one time in the Sailor Fuku...
18. If you could have just ONE characteristic from your character, what would it be?
- His magical abilities. There's been so many times that a type of magic could've been handy.
19. Have you made any characters that go along with yours, based on real-life people, that have the same relationship with your character as you with the real-life person?
- Characters I made based on other people? Not that I can pick off the top of my head.
20. Have you written any stories about your character?
- Yeah, stupid little fanfics that I really should re-write.
21. How has your character changed since his/her first creation?
- Too many to list, believe me. Thankfully I've been able to keep him the way he is for the last couple years.
22. Give us a one-liner from him/her.
- "It's not my fault I'm a pervert! I was written this way!"
