Walked into work today and was first told by my manager that today could be my last day because of an email that came out, and that I could choose between now and Monday.
So I was like.. well I want to stay till at least till Sunday. I get premium pay if I'm in the building and I hadn't brought my googly eyes in. (I was planning to cover some things in them on my last day as a silly little goodbye).
Then once I asked my manager if Sunday was ok because there wouldn't be any managers there and, I need to turn my badge into someone, I was told that they misinterpreted the email and that I was being forced to leave today instead.
Que meltdown for an hour. Muddled through the day helping my work lead with things and then picked some sunflowers from the courtyard for my mom and left them on her desk.
(I couldn't just leave and go back for the googly eyes btw. Since February I've been carpooling with my Work Lead since she has MS and couldn't drive well due to a bad infection that landed her in the hospital. I've been driving her car and helping her get out and into the building and back home into her house etc. So I couldn't just leave and come back.)
All we can figure is that they don't want to pay people the Sunday pay on the new pay period which starts Saturday. Just one last jab in the back. Wouldn't be government if cruelty wasn't the point.
(Also my co worker does have plans in place and I do plan to try and help her get to work still. So no worries there. We'd been planning since April.)

I'm going to take a few days to a week and see where I'm at. But I now have more time which means room for art. I'll keep you posted.

I think I'm the reason the government is crashing. The universe says I can't be at a job more than 3 years so it's taking the worst route and taking us all out lol Suppose there's reasons my name is Hex.

Jokes aside, My latest end date currently will be June 30th. I'm taking the DRP (Deferred resignation program) and calling it quits. They may eliminate my dept sooner and send me home sooner but for the moment it looks to be at the end of June.

Basically my options are;
a) Take a $2,700 buyout and I cant reapply and work for the gov for 5 years or else I gotta pay that back.
b) Take DRP, get a bi-weekly paycheck for the amount I get now, accrue annual leave with a payout at the end of Sept 30th for it, and I can rejoin the gov whenever and get another job while still getting my pay.
c) Wait till I am RIFed and they eliminate my whole dept and I get nothing and I then will have to apply to MO unemployment which is capped at less than $350 a week.

I forgot it was April 1st. Idk why but FA's changes made me giggle a good amount. I needed that. I think comic sans should totally be a permanent option. XD

I can't get confirmation on my perm status I was offered at work and if it was put through or not. This could determine how long I'm kept at my job with the RIF (reduction in force) plans being drawn up right now. Treasury Dept is compliant with the administration's demands.

New round of "What did I do last week" emails hit today. RIF plans in 3 stages are to be submitted no later than 03-13-25. Administration is trying everything they can to reduce staff across the government.
Please be advised, 30% reduction in our department alone will end up causing a substantial delay in return processing for individuals across the country. Please file if you are able!

PC came back to the store and I went and picked it up and, learned they indeed did wipe it and factory reset it. v.v I've spent my whole night re-downloading everything/signing into stuff etc. But, I have it back and it's working so that's really all I can ask for at this point.

On another note my job is still open at least fiscally until March next year so huzzah! Was not expecting it but happy it actually happened. Biden also gave us Xmas eve off so that was a nice thing to get.
I'm going to have a few longer than normal weekends coming up and so I might still take at least 1 commission, be that just out-right or a ych.

Thought it was a cool title lol. So quick update on my end of things.

My bypass PC situation was going great till Windows screwed it up. Short of it; Windows updated Thursday night. Friday night I've got the Sims 4 in the background and I'm browsing best buy. PC shuts off suddenly and then restarts with now saying repairing windows. 😞 So I do a hardware check, go through every option. Says I need bitlocker recovery code. Cool, get it, log it, failed. Every time. So took it to geek squad with my warranty and they got it fixed up and it's heading back to me here soon. Hoping by Friday I can get it back.
With that fun news, I'm also holding my breath because I may get told to stay home from work with no pay due to an impending government shutdown. I've no clue if we do, how long that'll be at this point.
The new administration has sworn they want to enact Schedule F from day one. So I may not come back ever.

This if course frees me up to do commission work again until I figure things out.
I don't know anything at this point and I'm tired. But I'll keep you all in the loop if I do turn back on with commissions. Can't seem to win at life lately. 🙃

Due to the recent events in my country, I will be relocating and am putting a stop on commissions. I'll update my page after I get home from work tonight.

Well, after almost a decade of awesome service, my PC has hit blue screen heaven. I do have a back up bypass PC going so shouldn't disrupt anything with art. Just thought I'd cheers to the PC who's made my art possible for the last decade lol.

On a more funny note, you can totally use an Asus rog ally as a desktop PC 😅 Got a connection dock for it and my tablet and everything runs great lol.

In light of the recent events, I'd like to know if anyone has a quick code way or solution to saving my gallery externally without saving each one pic by pic? I'd like not to loose a lot of these earlier images and currently right now this is my OG furry art legacy gallery so everything is pretty much here and I'd like to keep another site with a mirror in case the site goes down. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm here till the ship sinks but would like a back up. Thank you!

I didn't want to say anything prematurely just in case because our luck sucks, but as of today, my roommate and I are first time home owners of the house we've been living/renting for 3 years!
We got so lucky due to the sellers wanting to sell the home and even luckier that we somehow secured it. That process is a nightmare, just fyi lol. I'm really lucky I get to finally have a more "permeant" place to stay.

Just wanted to swing in quickly and let you know I've scheduled a surgery on August 17th and will be unavailable that weekend into possibly next. While it shouldn't effect commissions much, I figured I'd just give a heads up ahead of time.
On a brighter note, I'll be out for about 3-4 weeks so I'll have plenty of time for arts while healing. :D

I just thought I'd pop in and let you all know, I absolutely adore and appreciate each one of you. <3
It's been a shit show for a long while now and I feel like maybe I don't say that enough.

I want to update you on the last journal.
Things were finally finalized with the car settlement and oddly enough due to the current inflation going on, we ended up with a better payout and were able to re-lease another car.
We had enough left over after our downpayment that I was able to make rent. And the commissions have helped so much. I want to give a big thank you to those who have helped me. I am not in pure panic mode right now which has helped a lot.
I'm still working on commissions and plan to open another spot come to the end of next week. Would you guys prefer a YCH spot or just a regular free-all spot?
