Posted 5 years agoJust so you're aware, members of the BLM and AntiFa movement are attempting to bully people that are unwilling to give them a lower rate for art.
If this is the case, it's not too far off to gather that they're attempting to blacklist / blocklist those same artists that rely on commissions to survive and aren't willing to lower them.

The link between Popularity and Hatred
Posted 6 years agoI've always thought it interesting that there seems to be a link between how popular someone becomes and the amount of contempt and hatred they have for their fellow man.
I'll admit, I've found myself slipping into a similar pattern on occasion, however I have had friends that I have encouraged to speak to me, to tell me when I'm about to cross the line, and they've consistently pulled me back when I am wrong.
We have debates, and I'm so very, very thankful for that, as I've been proven that, at times, I'm motivated by the negative emotions that plague me, such as anger or avarice, even though the core of my activity stems from love.
I feel the difference, though perhaps I -know-, is that when you become more popular you become less able to forgive those around you, reason being; You no longer are able to hold something over someone else's head if you forgive them.
So there comes the question: Is it worthwhile to forgive. And I would say yes, it is worthwhile to forgive. However, in doing so, in forgiving someone, you're not giving blanket allowance for behavior in the future. Those whom are popular, believe that if they've been forgiven then that means that they are insulated against being accused in the future, sort of an inoculation proof against criticism.
And they get upset if they get caught, again, with their hand in the cookie jar.
And the fans they have endorse their actions, because figureheads draw people that are willing to accept their behavior, right or wrong, in an attempt to catch some of that stardust.
So when I look at the people who are no longer my friends, people I had attempted to be actual -friends- with, not just a commissioner and an artist concluding a business transaction, it is fairly interesting in how, as they've become more popular, the joy present in their craft has become absent and they've become less happy.
And their hatred for others more forthcoming.
I'm going to avoid making this a callout journal.
One such person I thought was a friend now supports and is an apologist for pedophilia. Their income goes to someone that raped a child.
But if you state you don't agree with that? You try to provide some life advice, when requested, to toughen up because life itself is difficult? Bans are given. Your message is deleted. They remove any form of contact with you. Because you're 'being mean' to the pedophile who raped someone.
It is a form of hatred and disdain to do so, to escalate mild disagreement. It is a form of ignorance to remove someone from your life because you disagree.
I hope that, in reading this journal, you will agree that we need to talk more, as a community. And part of doing so is to resist the urge to go with those that follow you, to stick to your morals, to evaluate each point given to you and to, if possible, discuss it with those that confront and converse with you.
Otherwise, you'll end up like the person above, supporting something terrible.

Posted 6 years agoLot of people being awfully silent regarding the shootings that occurred this past Sunday where over 300 Christians were confirmed dead.
I think that it is pretty appalling that our community is more upset over the words that are used in civil conversation than actual violence and bloodletting with a body count.

Cub - A Reason to Remove
Posted 6 years agoWith the recent events involving discord's moderation team and public perception involving the fandom, I feel that we need to talk about an incredibly taboo subject:
Cub Art
For those that are unaware, it came to light over the week of 02/04/2019 to 02/08/2019 that, though discord's terms of service explicitly ban pornography of children, including drawings, moderation staff have argued vehemently that furry Cub Art does not fall within this ban.
Similarly, cub art on Furaffinity, though supposedly not allowed, has been posted in increasing quantities on this site without moderation staff looking into the issue or correcting it. Similarly, several individuals that are patrons of Cub art have been let back onto the site despite this being their fifth or sixth offense.
Now, I'm not going to go into the specifics of squick and the like. I'm going to assume that, for most of you here, you understand that a lot of people find Cub art distasteful. My goal in this journal is to help explain -why-, as well as to explain why the fandom is seen as a hive of degenerates.
See, it all comes down to whether or not we see the furry characters as human; Do these characters possess a human will and motivation? Can they empathize with others? Can they consider functions beyond that which is immediately apparent? Can they defer gratification for a greater reward later?
These are all things that people tend to impart on their characters, and so the main view people have of furries, if they aren't immediately aggressive, with mild acceptance. They're human, just in a different shape.
This is why Cub art creeps most people out. If we're applying the laws of logic, and therefore baseline cultural morality, to any individual furry character then it should stand to reason that people will be disgusted if they see an adult furry character lewding a four year old, just as they would an adult lewding a fourteen year old.
The common defense that supports this behavior comes in two major flavors:
1. It's only art
2. It's fictional characters / not human
The first item does not apply in this case because certain graphic depictions are considered illegal in the US.
The second item, however, is far more disturbing when someone reasons further than the initial claim. If all the art on this site features creatures that are not human, that they are not capable of rationalizing the world around them in a similar way to the way we are, then that is the only true way that they would not held to our own standards as human beings. Considering that the overall appearance and behaviors of some characters points at them sharing traits with the animals they're based on, this in turn implies that everything on this site can be considered equivalent to bestiality.
As a result, this defense Cub artists and patrons often dive into only serve to push us backwards.
Worse, this proves 4chan right.

Posted 7 years agoI'm sorry to those of you that follow me, there's been quite an absence of content this year on my account.
Simply put, I'm not comfortable with the furry fandom on the whole any more.
I'm not comfortable with the way it has been going.
I'm not comfortable with one of my best friends ripping out my heart and siding with someone that has repeatedly sent me death threats.
I'll see if things will change, and if they do I might start posting stories and art on this site again.
Sadly, it feels like the slide is inevitable.
Sorry again.

Posted 8 years agoApologies to everyone that enjoys reading my stories or looking at the smut I commission and put on my alternate account.
Right now the development for my tabletop RPG has reached its final point, meaning that it requires my full financial attention in order to develop into a final product.
As you may notice, I can't draw. As a result, I have assembled a team of artists to do that for me. Assembling said team means I have to pay them, which I don't think is too much for them to ask me for in return.
Capitalism!
Once again, I apologize to all of you that were hoping for more mander butts and mander tits. I know you're few and far between, but I appreciate you guys. I'll keep posting what I do have backlogged in my gifts and commissions, and I hope you all have a wonderful next few months.

Posted 9 years agoSo I tried to update to windows 10, however I shut down my computer.
Kernel broke, forced me to reformat, so now I'm missing a lot of writing files I was going to finish and post.
I'm sorry folks, I'll try to rework on this and get it up to speed again.
Edit: further issues have come up. While attempting once again to upgrade my sleep addled mind though it might be a good idea to try a fix involving unhooking the SATA cable from my dvd/CD drive.
What I failed to do was unhook the power as well.
Cue one brivked machine. At this time I have given the PC to a computer repair location. The possible scenarios are as follows:
Best: I bricked the power supply, no biggie.
Eh: I bricked both the power supply and the optical drive.
Crap: I bricked the power supply, the optical drive, and the motherboard
FUBAR: I now am the proud owner of a $3000 paperweight.
Crossing fingers and praying to God.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been out of it while trying to make something of myself and my life here in Texas.
I'm still trying to write, its just that Real Life seems to conspire with Writer's Block to keep me from making productive things.
Doesn't help that War Thunder, Warframe, and Shadowrun Chronicles are involved either.
Just wanted to let everyone know I am still alive. Hopefully I can pull through!

Posted 11 years agoIts still been an emotional rollercoaster ride, but I'm starting to feel better. I've got a job again and, as you can probably tell by my submissions, I've started to get my writing mojo back.
It certainly helps that I'm not dealing with other people's bullcrap anymore.
