More Work!
Posted 5 years agoNot streaming tonight, but instead I'm gonna run through a few background items before I negotiate a new time for streaming. Something that is not only easier for myself but friends as well.
Saturday: Break!
Posted 5 years agoI've been up since the early AM's smoking foods. Dinner was good but I need rest. Will resume again soon.
Stream Tonight.
Posted 5 years agoAfter toying with brushes I have a bit of a better feel and after some experimentation I'll just have to tweak as I go. All in all however, I did not just want to sit there driving anyone mad that I was only drawing thousands of tiny circles.
I've learned quite a bit. Expect the usual time, between 6-8 pm to 10 pm Central.

Not Tonight.
Posted 5 years agoTaking a break tonight, to resume on Friday.
I'm going to play with settings tonight and experiment to find a comfort zone.

Scheduling
Posted 5 years agoI've been piecing together a time frame for most nights starting anywhere between 6-8pm Central to 10pm Central. for regular streaming. It's something I'm going to keep doing for as long as I can assuming my sleep doesn't shift on me like it normally does, however I will update accordingly.
Beginning Transition
Posted 5 years agoUpdated to Clip Studio, I'm working on converting a lot of work over to the new program for now.
Happy Holidays
Posted 6 years agoFor everyone I haven't gotten to, have a pleasant holiday. I am keeping things relatively quiet this year although there will be plenty of things for me to accomplish today including and especially food.
Fuckin' Twitter.

Posted 7 years ago(Model Stuff) The USS Constitution
Posted 8 years agoFor those of you who are a bit of a history buff and scale model enthusiast, this is going to be my next project: http://www.model-space.com/us/build.....tution-us.html
Translation on the specs, 46"1⁄16in long, 32"31⁄64in tall, and 14"11⁄64in wide.
This ship was one of the first sailing ships I've studied and has since made an impression. The Constitution, which has undergone several refits and eventual historical restoration, is still afloat today as the oldest commissioned ship on the water. Rather than boring into details, I'm gonna start this project once the Falcon is finished.

The 4'th
Posted 8 years agoI was actually contemplating on doing another yearly post dealing on controversy, however in this particular case all I can do is recommend that people just keep watching how the events of today play out rather than shortsightedly getting angry about one side or the other (which is a monumental task to say the least). Most of this time, I have chosen to remain impartial (especially after 20 years of watching the same rhetoric unfold time and again) to keep observation going.
Much of the way news has portrayed the system time and again has always come across to me as being one step closer to oblivion than the Harry Potter series. That is how propaganda plays out. It plays you against one collective ideology or another with promises of doom that have never truly come to pass. It has been in my best interest to keep an open mind about this, for better and for worse. I have stopped long ago getting caught up in "who's right" and "who's wrong" simply due to the fact that it's just a waste of time and breath. The best we can do is simply just keep records of not only what is said that happened, but who said it and why. It is also worth noting that one should always check other sources, especially the ones that countermand your primary source of information. The idea is to learn from one's mistakes and simply not repeat them.
I found this ideal for the fact that it tells you what both sides are saying in any given conflict of discussion and how to recognize when you're being manipulated and when you're actually given truth. I'm a firm believer in that all things are connected. You can't have something happen without reason. Fire burns as long as it has fuel, air, and heat, for example. If you read too deeply, you're bound to get burned by your own inflammatory reaction. That's the trap. When you recognize the trap and move around it, you eventually start seeing why it is there in the first place. Most often, I find it's simply there to contain the unwary and undisciplined mind.
For the fourth, I just simply intend to lay back have a beer and enjoy some BBQ. Have a good day, ladies and gentlemen.

Weeks Break
Posted 8 years agoI took a silent hiatus for about five days. During this time I got a bit accomplished in the quiet world.
The only other significant thing to happen is that I have retired the Chevy hat. It received too many washes and came apart finally. I broke down and bought another hat.

Model Update
Posted 8 years agoI haven't done anything too exciting in the realm of model making. The Falcon simply rests on my desk and I've been having to go back and correct one obvious oversight that I had missed when detailing the ship. I'll post a photo or two of the retouch and then the detailing. Now, I just need to find some pens to add the double lines to each of the panels. I've got the perfect item for adding the circles, which I'll take care of eventually.

Moving Things Along

It's That Time of Year
Posted 8 years agoFuck all of you.
Plans This Year
Posted 8 years agoWorking on collecting a modest array of paints and possibly brush nozzles. I stuck my neck out to acquire an airbrush of which I've made fond use of, however I don't count on being able to use it indoors for obvious reasons. This year I still have it in plan to acquire a turn (cake) table, a few bolts and screws for mounting, and some new computer equipment.
Colors that I'm finding I need before I continue too far in are Aluminum, Steel, Copper, Silver, Gold, Flat White, Flat Light Gray, Flat Gray, Flat Dark Gray, and likely throw in some more as I discover them. While they have certain mixtures for browns that I can use on these model kits, I'm finding that I may use a tea stain method for painting. The tea, I would have used a slow process of trying to find a shitty tea to use (I will not waste good tea) if not for the fact that earlier
Memokkeen had already acquired some. She sent me a good amount I'll be using for attempting to stain the sails of my model Galleon first. The surface of the sails are a semi-plastic material, which means that I can use one of either technique to stain them, but I believe that flat white paint will work as the best method to allow the stain to adhere. I wager it's best to do this to a $20 model first, instead of destroying a $1500 model with experimentation. Although, I do have plenty of test parts in case I need them.
Art: I'm not streaming for the time being, there seems to be a lack of interest so there's no point in beating dead horses. I will however continue to work off panel and I'll have no release times for anything I accomplish. If I stream at all, chances are that following last year's path, I'll be multistreaming with friends as a leisure, not a chore.
Notes: For the planned 5' model, I'm finding that it's good to have references that I obtained from obscured places, though in all reality I want to find the original model to see if I can gleam something that photos will not reveal. It's also possible that the reference photos sent by DeAgostini will help, though I haven't an idea at this time.
Another thing to note is that I've stopped myself from confusing the 5' model with the 32" model. This means I will not be using the 5' model for details that simply do not belong on the 32" model. this may come as a disappointment for some people, but for those who like studio accuracy, I'm breaking a lot of fan rule in favor of historic rule.
In short: No road sign above the cockpit, not this time, not sorry.

Remnants (Model Crafting)
Posted 9 years agoI'm going to be restarting the project on the P-61 Black Widow and one of the P-38 Lightnings. The second one has been sitting on my shelf waiting for me to get off my ass and perfect line shading, but I've learned I need to hold off on detailing until I can get an air brush/compressor. The damage on the other two models, has only been mildly relative, though I originally feared I had lost all of them. As it is, I'll just be salvaging those and using them as my test pieces if I don't cannibalize the parts for other projects. With a little heat treating, I found I could bend some parts back into shape but others do require a more delicate touch. I suppose only a small handful have wondered about what I've been doing model wise. Not much, outside of monthly Falcon parts as to which I have a nearly finished bottom half now (minus the mandibles).
Regardless, instead of using automotive paints which I planned on, I'm finding that Tamiya products in conjunction with automotive primer is the best solution. Less gobbing, less over spray, and definitely less hassle. Line washing of course is still an ongoing experiment, as Tamiya paints are a bit different than I'm used to, but I'm seeing where the results are better once you're acquainted with them. I wager, that I'll just go ahead and half-assed paint the P-61 as I assemble it, then if I can do anything with it I may. I wouldn't count on a lot, since, most of the parts now turning hand painted are probably not going to be that detailed and look like ass. It's bad enough that after inspecting the primed parts after everything was said and done, I wasn't happy with how the paint flaked badly, thus why I am doing this.
Speaking of. I'm tempted to just use a quick wash of thinner to see if I can coax the chipped/peeled paint out of the parts, which I'll do.

Another Year..
Posted 9 years agoI actually woke up a bit later than usual this morning and spent most of my time just waiting and waiting for a particular steak house to open up. As soon as the the time hit ten minutes to opening, I grabbed the old man and the Tahoe and headed out to the Texas Longhorn Steakhouse. After having a rather large (And expensive) bite to eat, I came home only to find a large slew of Skype messages wishing me a happy birthday. Thanks guys, I greatly appreciate the thought. Now, if I still had my Moscow Mule in hand, I'd raise a toast to say 'Here's to a long and good day for a change, one I've never had on my birthday before in my entire life. Here's to hoping that this is the start of something beautiful'.

In Regards...
Posted 10 years agoI am well aware of the passing of close friend
Damnevildog. I have been keeping tabs from time to time in regards to his health because in all reality I knew that his life was short. I have only told a short handful of this, however it was at the time a circumstance that I had dreaded. Even so, foreknowledge of this type of thing still does not adequately prepare you for it. I imagine this has been upsetting for quite a few people, and myself as well. Many of us who knew him well were always looking forward to finding that better game to spend time hanging out, which is what we were all hoping for. Now that time will never come.
I can say, however, that the time that was spent with him has been the best; Always trying to entertain and be entertained in doing so, despite the trouble with failing health and other circumstances. Now it comes to what to do now.
firefly8083 and
wrathofzod are talking about donations for his cremation. It's something to consider, since he really cared about a lot of people.
As for me, I plan on doing something that I haven't done in a long time. Story is that when a traveler was lost along his way, those who knew him or her would place a lit candle in the window near the front door at night so that hopefully they might find their way home. It became symbolic and I myself have done this for at least three persons in my past. This would be my fourth time doing so. It is also something to consider if you wish, but everyone has their own way of saying Goodbye. This is mine.
Good luck, friend.
