New Project: Dai's Dungeon
General | Posted 11 years agoHey everyone, I’m happy to introduce my new project, Dai’s Dungeon!
I know Hodge-Podge had some major trouble starting back up and the whole project had been put on hiatus indefinitely, but I am hoping that this project will be just as fun and exciting!
Dai’s Dungeon is a (planned to be) Tumblr Ask Blog. This year, I managed to acquire an RPG dungeon, and took over as the boss! I’ll be answering asks about myself and the dungeon, as possibly making some comics to answer long questions or having challengers entering the dungeons themselves! I believe that with hard work and some participation, this could be a fun new project for everyone (at least one that will motivate me to draw more poses and subjects!).
So with that, lets see how this goes! Welcome to my labyrinth!

General | Posted 12 years agoHey everyone, its finally time to make my decision since it is the end of the summer!
I will be continuing Hodge-Podge in full color, updating once a week per usual.
I'm going to working on making a back log so that i'll be perpared to dive right back into the series as soon as school starts back up.
I really do want to finish the series, there are many exciting and emotional events that have not even happened yet!
I decided that ultimately if I was going to continue the comic, I might as well make it worth the effort and time. Black and white was unsatisfying, and doing manga pages would make things go by too slowly as well as making it difficult to reprogram the site to fit those kinds of pages. I have considered improve my coloring and start painting pages to keep up my skill, as this would be very beneficial to my growth as an artist. Learning to speed paint is a critical skill.
HOWEVER, PAINTING COMICS EVERY WEEK IS A LOT OF WORK. Going back to updating in color every week with an even greater amount of effort will be a lot more difficult for me, so i'll be setting up a donation box. Since most of my income is from commissions, and doing HP makes that difficult, it would be nice to have another possible source of income. I won't be asking for much, but a little compensation for an even greater effort would be nice. I may even do it kickstarter style and have a stretch goal for upgrading the quality of the comic, it really all depends on how much you all care/want to spend. I'll let you guys know later what I decide to, but a donation box will definitely be going up for anyone who really feels like it :)

Another free week, which means more commissions! This week I want to do some full body speedpaint commissions to work out a better drawing process and work on my knowledge of anatomy. So lets do it!

Hey everyone
General | Posted 12 years agoJust wanted to let you guys know that i'm okay, had a shitty night and morning, but things are better now. About the break up, honestly it was as sudden for you guys as it was for me. I noticed that things had been weird between us for a week or two now but we had weeks like this before, so I hadn't thought too much into it. Anyway, if you didn't know, I'm his first relationship EVER. We even hit it off the very first night we met. He hasn't known anything about like "going on dates before dating" or "what its like to have sex with other people" or even "what would it be like without him in my bed on the weekends and how I would feel". So really, this whole thing is understandable, even I haven't had sex with anyone besides him or gone on a date before dating either! So its just a change of pace really, getting to know what other people are like and if we truly are right for each other. My silly mom brought up the idea of marriage last winter and it freaked both of us out a lot (I love her, but it was really stupid of her to mention.) I won't get into more personal stuff because that's private but it was just decided that it was time to experiment. Not that we can't happen again in the future, who knows what the future holds for us, but for now it's just something we need to grow as people and develop our knowledge about relationships. But at the time of the break up, and for the rest of that night/morning I was in panic/hysteria. I'm easily afraid of change. I was afraid of completely losing the person I cared about most (other than family of course), it's a scary thought! I was also afraid of losing routine, and having everything I love about my college life now crumble apart. I'll be in a single next year (which I got so that we could have some space without my roommate but now that it isn't needed... well its kind of worrisome for me to be all alone in my room I guess). And I was afraid of being single again, having flashbacks of how miserable I was before him. It was definitely among my lowest points in life! But this is just something i'm going to have to grow up on. Being single can be an adventure too, it's just something i'm going to have to work on whether I like it or not. And hell, if he's going to go get experience, I might as well too right? and frankly, we may even just end up as friends with benefits! I guess i'll just have to see what happens!
That aside, we are still talking of course, best friends even, and a break up isn't going to change that. How would I get my feed of random science facts otherwise? Who would I secretly team up with in Dokapon or talk about furries with? it would just be silly to stop hanging out! I'm just glad hes not leaving my life. Maybe we won't be sleeping with each other, but I can still keep all the hugs and late night talks.
So, sorry for worrying everyone, i'm alright now. I'll be back to normal soon enough. Time heals all wounds and i'll just take my time readjusting. It just goes to show that if you really care about someone, you'll love them no matter the circumstances. And that hasn't changed for either of us at all.

First Year on FA

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for being super cool, I met a lot of awesome people this year and the whole thing has just been a blur to me. There's a lot of people I thought I would never talk to who I now talk to on a regular basis and it's just incredible to me. Completely incredible. And hell, I have almost 13K pageviews and over 900 watchers. I'm totally blown away by it all. (comparatively on DA it took me 4 years to get 10K pageviews with 100 watchers)
I'm doing a little anniversary gift but it might take a while but hopefully it won't be too long.

General | Posted 12 years agoLooking between getting the Microsoft Surface pro and the Cintiq 13HD.
Anyone have any opinions on them?
Surface Pro:
*Portable without needing a computer
*full computer for other uses too
* usable on trips or when away from my computer in general
*need to wait for better drivers to come out for photoshop (though i'm sure this will be fixed VERY soon)
Cintiq 13HD
*can't go wrong with a cintiq, so not super high expectations
*Better drawing features and programmable buttons would make drawing faster
*not portable, so it would just replace my wacom bamboo (though it works just fine, upgrade is more of a luxury than a necessity)
*has a "pro pen" ? I dunno what this means just yet but I guess its new for cintiq or something?

Nega Challenge!
General | Posted 13 years agoAlright so, clearly i'm using the term wrong (inverse might be a better term but I like the name nega) but i'm just doing this for fun so I think it's alright to play with the rules.
I challenge all of my watchers to draw themselves a Nega version of their fursona!
1. Choose your fursona to be a different animal and completely change your body type (if you're short and skinny, you're nega would be tall and thick.)
2. Have them wear the same clothes (if they wear clothes) and give them similar defining features if your fursona has some (such as mine, for example, has a white cross on the chest, so I made it a black cross on the nega.)
3. Post it somewhere and then leave a comment with the link to it in the comments on this journal so I can see it! :3c
This is just something I thought could be fun/ spice up for day, so don't feel any pressure to do it~ Also once again, you don't have to call it your nega fursona (because its really not haha) so just call it whatever you want~

FC2013 review
General | Posted 13 years agoHey everyone, i'm back from FC~
it was definitely a convention to remember, I really didn't want to leave when we did! I'm definitely considering going next year!
The convention area itself was pretty small (at least compared to fanime) because it was only a 1/3 of the convention center and then the hotel area.
There was a dealers den, which is basically where all the artists and dealers gathered together and sold stuff in one hot room. It was a little hectic with that small space.
There was also a creators lounge for artists to get together and draw on nice big tables, but unfortunately it turned into people turning seats into commission booths and there were never any free seats because people were always there drawing for commissions or advertisement. Kinda disappointed it turned out like that but oh well.
I was also surprised how many fursuiters there were, it was an honest 50/50! Now onto what happened everyday~
Friday:
Arrived at the con around 7ish after getting off the bus and checking into the hotel. Looked around some (though most things were closed) and met up with
Lazywulf101 for the first time with his boyfriend 
tigurpaw We didn't see them for very long though, and met up with 
Tairupanda and 
orangetavi to watch the fursuit dance off (which was pretty damn amusing, I must say).
Saturday:
Went straight to the con and checked out the dealer's den and met up with
Ali_teigar for a while and then met up with Tairupanda and Orangetavi to watch the fursuit parade. It was pretty cool, there sure were a lot of them! and immeaditely afterwards I met 
Kamui and 
gamma-g (which was super cool ;w; I wish I could have talked to them again, especially on sunday because gamma was giving out free doujin and underwear ;A;). Afterwards, we all went to yogurtland and met 
gazpacho and 
kumagoroshi (you both are awesome dudes!) I think there was a bunch of wandering around before going to Kamui's panel about composition and illustration. (which was pretty awesome! I really wanted to go to Kamui's color theory panel too but it was sunday night, many hours after I left the con) and then had dinner and then went to the masquerade (it was ok, not as amusing as the dance contest). After all this we went back to my room and played some super smash brothers melee (I WANT TO 1v1 WITH GAZ)
After that we left Peanut to work, and went to check out the dance. We stayed there for 2 minutes (not our thing I guess haha) and then arranged to meet up with
analon tomorrow to have a big drawing circle~
Sunday:
Got up and had jack in the box (mmmmmmmm~ and also where we met Starwolf, sorry I don't know your FA ><;;;) and went to the dealer's den to buy some stuff/meet up with Lazywulf101 , and I bought a lackadaisy poster and three furry mouth bandanas (one for me, Peanut, and Tairupanda) and then started our imaginary drawing table party. It started out being me, Tairupanda, OrangeTavi , Analon , Lazywulf101 , gazpacho , and LearlessFeader. After a while our circle of a couple people drawing in each other's sketchbooks turned into a GIANT CIRCLE of people trying to meet all of us and all draw together (which is exactly what the creators lounge should have been <<;;) and I got a lot of awesome sketches in my sketchbook ;w; I'm really really happy I got a chance to draw with you all, thank you everyone! Sadly when the circle started getting really huge, it was time for me and Peanut to leave the con (we were pretty frustrated we had to go after starting a really awesome circle). And on the bus we met 
wafflebird and 
mcoco ! Hello~
Also as a side note to everyone in the cirlce, Peanut still missed his class ;w; but oh well.
So thank you all for being there and being awesome! it was a con i'll never forget!

it was definitely a convention to remember, I really didn't want to leave when we did! I'm definitely considering going next year!
The convention area itself was pretty small (at least compared to fanime) because it was only a 1/3 of the convention center and then the hotel area.
There was a dealers den, which is basically where all the artists and dealers gathered together and sold stuff in one hot room. It was a little hectic with that small space.
There was also a creators lounge for artists to get together and draw on nice big tables, but unfortunately it turned into people turning seats into commission booths and there were never any free seats because people were always there drawing for commissions or advertisement. Kinda disappointed it turned out like that but oh well.
I was also surprised how many fursuiters there were, it was an honest 50/50! Now onto what happened everyday~
Friday:
Arrived at the con around 7ish after getting off the bus and checking into the hotel. Looked around some (though most things were closed) and met up with

Tablet Investigation (in need of opinions)
General | Posted 13 years agoI have been planning on buying a new tablet for a while now and I have been saving for a bit and I think I need to start deciding on which product I actually want to buy. Right now i'm looking at two products: Yiynova MSP19U and the ASUS EP121
Yiynova MSP19U: This product has been kinda blowing up on the net (especially since the new drivers have come out) as the amazing alternative cintiq. People's complaints so far seems like problems with the display sometimes being annoying to set up to computers and that there are no hotkey on the tablet itself. Both of these issues aren't a huge concern to me however, considering I don't use hotkeys on the tablet anyway.
Pros:
*Very nice touch screen, without any serious lag, especially when I have to work on big drawings.
*Big Screen (at least I think so) with a resolution of about 1440 x 900
*has a nice adjustable stand and a nice thick glass that is resistant to scratching
*For the most part, people really like this tablet
*it's a fairly new product
Cons:
*I already have a working tablet on my computer right now, though it is a 5 - 6 year old wacom bamboo. I would have to uninstall this tablet in order for this tablet to work, and that also means I would have to buy a mouse for playing computer games like Dota 2 or TF2
*Still looking into reviews and mixed opinions have made it a bit confusing to determine its true strengths/flaws

*Back stand isn't great from what I hear so I would have to put it in my lap most of the time.

Good times were had!
General | Posted 13 years agoAnd I dropped off Peanut-ButterWolf at the airport this morning.
We had a really great week, it was a lot of fun. It was really warm weather this week too, which was surprising for my area at this time of the year. He met most of my family, who all seemed to like him, and he got to meet a majority of my friends, it was really busy between meeting so many people at home @@;;; I got to show him Gotcha Force (one of my all time favorite games); we beat the game twice and beat the hardest mode of the game x3 We also took him to Washington DC and saw the national history museum as well as the air and space museum. We had a bunch of my friends come over and had a LAN Party/Teach PB how to play Dota 2. Hes pretty good for having only played a couple times I would say : D We also got to hang out with my best friend and cook dinner/play Silent Sass 3: The fetus eating party. We also got christmas gifts for both our families and I bought PB some clothes because he was in dire need off non-ripped/torn-in-half clothes <<;;;; We also had impulse buys and PB bought Pokemon White 2 and I got Solatorobo. Also my bed made danny do a lot of weird things. One night while he was unconscious, he threw all his pillows of the bed and stole my pillow. Another night he actually cuddled me in his sleep (which was nice for a bit because he never sleeps like that) but after a while I started feeling pinned down and it was not good/hard to breath/uncomfortable Q-Q;;;; He also had a lot of weird dreams too. Every night just brought something strange, it was kind of funny xD
Anyway it was just a really, really nice week. I'm glad he fit in so well with everyone, my family wanted him to stay <:'3
But it was time for him to go home. I haven't touched a pencil at all, I'm super rusty! I also used up my HP backlog so I need to crack down on that!
So, you'll probably see me online again this week~ So see you guys there!
Also, I hope everyone is prepared for the Holidays! Have a good one~

Thank you everyone for commenting and favoriting my anniversary gift for Peanut-ButterWolf, it means a lot to both of us \'u'/
I should just draw more fluff, clearly thats what everyone wants xD
In other news, i'm going to put off those icon commissions until I finish my first print because I'm afraid its not going to get done if I put it off any longer, thank you for your patience. School has been busy but not too busy thankfully. Japanese 01 is really fun and my other classes are mainly just a lot of reading, which is not really fun at all but not the worst in any case. I'm just a poor reader and reading for more than 10 minutes puts me to sleep... It's a really bad habit of mine xD:;; So i'm going to have to figure out how to survive so much reading!
That sums up everything I wanted to say.
