Sorry about the lack of activity after such a massive burst of it. Long story short I was suffering from an infection and had to take it easy, then after that I was basically working two weeks straight with no break so like, my drive for art plummeted. Hopefully though I should be back to fighting shape. Gonna try and start working on what commissions I owe.

So yeah, no commissions for a while. How long is a while? Well that’s just it, I have no idea.

Here recently I’ve begun to feel… stale as an artist. This has happened before and I believe I fooled myself into prematurely thinking that I was confident enough to open back up for these bad boys (or that I didn’t have a second job to support my bills). Here lately though, I just don’t feel confident about my art at all. No I’m not calling it quits and I’m not going to leave the community, I just think that I need to try and remember why I liked art in the first place.

This stale feeling has brought a lot of other things with it, one of those feelings being that I kind of dread sitting down and drawing anymore. A few years ago I used to plop down after working for 12 straight hours and still have the energy to work my ass off for a picture that wasn’t exactly stellar, but I still loved every single minute of that. Anymore I come home and I’m like “YEAH I’M GONNA DRAW!!!!” but as soon as I plop down I just kinda deflate. I don’t know if that’s just my busy schedule/crappy sleep schedule bringing me down but I think I need to try some new things.

Will I stop drawing bellies? Good lord no, are you crazy? Will there be a shortage of bellies? Well, maybe. I’m gonna try and start doing some more dynamic things, or hell, even completely different projects. For example about a couple weeks ago I designed a shirt that came out super nice and the entire time I was working on it I was having a blast, I was excited to get it to come out and to look good, and by god it did! (The shirt is for sale btw) I also took the time to make graphics for a let’s play channel on youtube and a stream channel on twitch and that was loads of fun too. Hell, for advanced drawing I’m drawing endangered animals as professional wrestlers and even studying some of the anatomy on that was righteous. However, if you notice all of these projects are more my style. I love drawing for people and honestly the commission money helps me out a ton, but I think at this point I need to start thinking for myself, at least for a little while. Draw what I wanna draw, pursue some other hobbies and generally just take it easy for a hot minute.

This change is probably why I went so far as to make an alternate fursona. Don’t get me wrong, the wox is my bae, but its nice to try and switch things up a little bit. Plus, I’m a maine coon for the moment so I’m just as big and dumb as I was when I was a woffer. Plus, extra fluff!

As far as activity goes I more or less lurk right now so if you want to see me be a total shit head and meme lord feel free to follow me on twitter, marshmallowwox is my handle. Hey guys, what's up? I know it's only been like two weeks since my last journal but I honestly am just in the mood to blab, so uhh, sorry if It seems like I'm rambling.

Recently at my university they changed the general education requirements. Used to be you needed like 12 social science credits, 12 odd hours of math and science, and like, a bunch of other crap. The newprogram actually drops like two math classes and consolodates a few classes like engl 101+102 and speech. With that being said, I was able to withdraw from one of my classes that was giving me a huge headache, opening up even more time to work on art homework, which in urn has freed up some time for actual drawing. Yay!

All that being said, im not much of a social person anymore. All this stress has kinda been making me a recluse, so don't go thinking i dislike you or anything! I'm just buried in homework haha.

Hey dudes and dudettes, just figured I would give you guys a small update since I've been inactive for like, a week or so.

So I'm still working on finishing up some commissions. I still owe a few people and really want to finish them before I try to open up for more, which kind of sucks because at the moment all of my free time is spent trying to make sure I have stuff for my portfolio, as well as my final project for my Graphic Techniques class. That doesn't sound like it should be so hard, but honestly as a graphic designer (or any art major for that matter) it's kind of a pain in the ass. The portfolio requires a lot of time and care, and individual designs for themes, stationery sets, logo, etc. The GT class has us making an ad campaign for a food truck of our choice, which is a lot of fun! However, I've still got like somewhere between 26-40 projects i need to finish before i can even come close to being done with that. The kicker? The semester is literally over halfway over.

So yeah, I'm stressing a little bit. I don't mean to complain and I'm not looking for pity, I just felt like telling you guys what was up. As soon as I can get myself comfy I'll open up for commissions again!

Also, how would you guys feel about a growth drive or a few ych's? I wanna set up a patreon but i don't create enough, so I think this is the next best thing. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Howdy y'all! I'm unsure if anyone is really interested in what's been going on with me or not, but i'm gonna tell you anyway. Why? Cause I'm bored and feel obligated to let you watchers know when more art is coming.

Well, first off, I managed to hurt myself and end up with a pretty nasty leg infection. It started last week when one night i just randomly had an incredibly bad fever. At the time I honestly thought it was just a bad allergy thing, since i had just come back from vacation, but as it turned out I had managed to hit my shin hard enough at work to contract Cellulitis in my shin. It's an infection that crawls up underneath of the skin, and normally the bacteria gets there via injury. Luckily I've been to the doctor since then and it's looking a lot better than it did. They put me on some antibiotics and it seems to be clearing up, and the swelling in my leg has gone down drastically. If it isn't completely gone by the end of my perscription though I'm gonna have to go to the E.R. and have some stuff done. Hopefully it's nothing major, but as light hearted as i make it seem, left untreated it can be kinda deadly so... Yeah... It's like, i'm trying not to stress out about it, but there's that lingering thought in the back of my head you know?

But moving on to something a bit more important I guess; about a month back I streamed a little bit of myself playing Shovel Knight, and I had a ton of fun with it. The footage is on my computer, I just need to edit it down for Youtube and all that jazz, but I was wondering if you guys would be interested in me streaming more? I'm not very interesting so don't expect my social commentary to be too good, or often, but I mean, it would be fun to try. I wanna do art streams more too so if that interests you guys, then I reckon I can find the power to give it another shot myself!

Speaking of art, i'm sorry I haven't really done a whole lot this summer. I've been stressing out a lot over every little thing and it's really been wearing on my will to draw, which sucks because i wanna improve, but you can't improve without doing. I've been doing some sketching though and I'm honestly having a lot of fun with it, so hopefully there will be a spike in activity here before too long. That being said, I may also open commissions again in the near future. Moving into a new apartment soon and that extra dosh is gonna be nice for whenever I'm too broke to get a drink at the dollar store.

There hasn't been too much else going on I guess. Oh! Monster Hunter: Generations is really fun.

Howdy folks, just an update on things. I know I haven't exactly drawn anything nor have I finished any commissions but honestly there's a reason for that.

First and foremost, I've been working nonstop. In fact mt first day off in a few weeks will be on this coming Sunday. Having two jobs kinda blows but at least Im making some cash.

Second, my roommate's gonna be a daddy. This is a good thing don't get me wrong, but it kinda sucks for me. Luckily he's not leaving until the lease is up at our place, but still, I've been stressed out to the max just thinking about it. Hey, on the plus side I get to be an unofficial uncle!

So I apologize for letting you guys down in terms of art and socializing and such. There's just been a lot going on and honestly it's hard to find the drive or the patience to work on this stuff. That being said I'm gonna kick my own ass and get started on some pieces as soon as possible.

Also, if you've been trying to get ahold of me on Skype, chances are I'm not there. I still use it but Discord is a much friendlier app for my pc, so I try to use it more. Don't hesitate to poke me either place though!

I guess that wraps this up, again I'm sorry I suck guys. I'll be back on my feet in no time though. Love y'all~

A small update. The funeral today wasn't too awful bad; in fact it was more of us remembering her than mourning her. Honestly that's all I really wanna say or have to say at the moment but hey, just know that I'm alright and I appreciate all the kind words you folks gave me. <3

Hopefully with this ordeal out of the way I can start working on some of my commissions and trying to get some more art to you guys. FA's whole debacle with going down and all that jazz really peeved off a lot of people so I'm expanding where you can find my gallery. I'll be posting links in the future.

Only other thing I can really say is that I might be making music soon. Yeehaw!

I was at work yesterday doing my usual thing when my mom called me. My great grandmother is on her death bed and is gonna be leaving us pretty soon. I really don't know what all to say other than that this really, really sucks. She's like, 90 years old and had prettt bad alzheimers so I knew this was going to happen eventually. Still though, I'm pretty bent out of shape about it.

Most of my worry though is about my grandma. As you guys know I lost my grandpa (her husband) in January. Now she's losing her mother too. Again, great grandma hasn't been her self in a long, long time, but still. I'm worried. The only good thing to come from this, if you could call it that, is that great granny can finally be at peace.

If I'm acting funky or weird this is why. I'm just... Not ready for another funeral.

Getting back into a rhythm with art is tougher than I thought. Bear with me though, I'm gonna pump some stuff out, I swear.

Finals week is almost over and for once I'm actually pretty stoked. The semester has been hectic and has kept me from drawing the things I want to draw, and just being productive in general. It really sucks because I miss drawing. At least, drawing tums anyway...

But with summer around the corner I'll have more than enough time to get back on my feet and get into the swing of art again. That being said, I'm thinking about taking a day out of the week to spend either a few hours to a whole day streaming. I need y'alls help to decide when would be the best day to do this.
