Slot 3:

Slot 4:

Slot 5:

Now, on to...
Guidelines to commissioning Dalehan:
- commissions places will be based on slots to prevent myself from swamping myself in work I cannot finish within a reasonable time.
- commissions will be accepted in journals first, notes second. Preference might be given for people who have already been showing interest in getting a commission for a longer time, over new people.
- when your commission has been accepted, do not note me the details.
Instead, mail these to me at commission.dalehan[at]gmail.com
Mailing details to this address without prior agreement to take your commission by me will be ignored.
- Payments happen through PAYPAL only. Please ensure to maintain the proper etiquette and not mention the contents of the commission anywhere in the transaction. Paypal frowns on transactions based on adult material and it'll cause trouble for me.
The Paypal info will be given after the commission has been accepted and reference material has been mailed.
- For any non-sketch commission, an initial payment of 10€ is required. There'll be no exceptions. I won't start drawing until this initial payment has been transferred. This is an insurance for us both.
- The fully finished drawing will not be given out to the commissioner until the full amount has been paid. Failure to pay up the amount owed after multiple notifications will give me the liberty to use the drawing as I see fit until the full price has been paid.
- Let me know beforehand wether or not you want to keep this commission private. No notification means I'm allowed to post the image, with copyright marks, on Deviantart, FurAffinity and/or HentaiFoundry.
- No refunds will be given for finished work.

Bye wisdom teeth! Hello icecream!
General | Posted 14 years agoJust came back from a day at the hospital to have my wisdom teeth removed (in case the title didn't give it away).
Now to deal with the days of swelling and cold compresses, yay!

General | Posted 14 years ago- Do a series of drawings based on various martial arts and their traditional garb. I lied in my "ASK ME ANYTHING" journal when I said I didn't care for sports. I have a bit of hidden love for Muay Thai, and the idea of Lucha Libre has also been haunting through my head. But since I'm not an enclopedia on martial arts, I'll take suggestions. Note that I prefer disciplines which also bear a distinct outfit, such as previously mentioned, Lucha Libre and Muay Thai.
- Have my wisdom teeth pulled next week :( Gonna need to have the ones on my lower jaw removed, so... blegh, hamsterface and pains, not looking forward to it.
- To aid in the financial side of the dental operations (a root canal is also waiting...), I'll go ahead and finally open up public commissions next week. A lists of rules and ratings will follow in the next couple of days (for real this time).
Be prepared that I'll be using slots which I'll open from time to time. Commission work is all done in my free time after the working hours, so I won't go ahead and let a giant queue build up which I can't handle within a reasonable period of time.

The internet holds many hidden secrets...
General | Posted 14 years ago... and I wish I didn't find them. ._.
Case in point, googling my e-mail adresses to sniff out fora and sites where I left my MSN and Yahoo adresses on public view. I want to reduce the footprint I leave behind for possible spam mailing etc, by removing info from defunct locations.
Most of them were ages old art sites like Side7, Sheezyart, along with anime and manga forums (I think I really was a dumb 15 year old anime fan back then, looking back at it now...), which are kind of amusing to see where I've ended up now.
Then, suddenly, I run into a silly little thing.
Nothing too bad...
Just an account for a webcam site I visited and made an account for ONCE, for shit and giggles, 8 years ago. Yet there was a snapshot of my face, and some stupid whiney crap I wrote back in the days, along with a snippet of my location.
My face: O_O;;
At least I still remembered my password (I kept using it over and over back then), and the account could be deleted in the profile settings <_<
So yeah... Jezus Chist. Keep in mind what info you leave behind on sites, even if you think nothing bad of it.
On a sidenote of random rambling, does Sean Paul specifically write the lyrics to his song so he can constantly say "guyhl" over and over again? Is that his thing he does?
On an even sider note (you still reading?), I've made a new Gmail address commission.dalehan[at]gmail.com .... I'm not saying anything with it just yet, just... yeah, keep that in mind?

How would you describe internet addiction?
General | Posted 14 years agoNOTE: I'll probably end up deleting this, much like any other whiny journal post I make
This got me thinking after reading one of those "recent studies" writings on a news site, detailing the link between excessive internet usage and neurological damage equal to alcohol / drug abuse. I won't go into detail too much, I just want to hear some opinions on this.
I probably could be classified as an addict when I see how much time I tend to spend behind a PC and how rotten it's made me socially... though that still leaves me with some questions.
I have my 9 to 5 job, when I come home I want to relax and play some games, read articles I find interesting, but a lot of time is being spent drawing again these days. Let's say that on average, it's 4 hours behind the PC in the evenings on a weekday, often longer if I'm drawing and it keeps my buzz going. :p
At work I'm using a laptop constantly, using the internet for our business as well. So I'm not count that in...
Online gaming has also been drastically reduced for me, and I'm not really feeling any side-effects from it.
BUT!
I am quick to open up Furaffinity or DeviantArt to see if I have new messages in moments of boredom. Heck, this is one of those moments right now. When I'm in bed, I tend to take my laptop and read online comics. Does this count? I could read the comics I already have at home, but... they're mine, I've already read them all dozens of times and found the little amusing things in the drawings. Online I can read some new things I might not be able to find here.
Nevertheless, during a weekend, my PC time can easily be doubled. Now...
This is purely out of boredom. I do enjoy doing things outside of the house, if the activity interests me or the company is fun. But since my social life has become so retarded, the fun companionship is missing. Heck, when I went to get my PC half a year ago, I was maybe more excited about being with a friend I've had to miss for years, instead of the new PC I was getting.
What would you personally consider as internet addiction? The constant dependancy on social network sites and need to be constantly connected to others through electronical means? Excessive gaming? Or just... being online and not doing anything that's even remotely productive?

Bought Super Street Fighter IV: AE on Steam, any tips?
General | Posted 14 years agoAs the title says.
Bought it because it was 50% off, plus I had a craving for a good fighting game to expand the diversity of the games I currently own. Buuuuut I'm a bit struggling on the controls (or maybe that's natural after my last fighter being Guilty Gear X2 years ago, and never playing one for years afterwards)
Currently using a Logitech F310 controller, but I'm having some issues with the input not registering properly. Like... trying to land a Hadouken mostly ends up in turning into a jump because it thought the v > motion went further and turns it into a diagonal jump. Nowwwww, what can I do? Would you say:
a) you're newb, practice practice practice on that controller until your thumbs bleed! (makes sense, Bruce Lee said "I do not fear the man who has practiced 10.000 kicks once. Rather, I fear the man who has practiced 1 kick 10.000 times.".... yeah I stole that from another SF tip site, big whoop vanna fight about it?)
b) get a xbox 360 controller for your PC (the logitech I have right now works perfectly fine since Windows Update automaticly downloaded the xbox controller driver for it, but D-pad and left joystick have switched places. It'd also be interesting to use for many other games I currently own.)
c) use the keyboard (I did get better responses from the keyboard, but I get disoriented by the layout (( and need to set up controls for a Player 2 if I change anything on Player 1 keyboard, fuuuuu!)) and I generally hate having to mash keyboards :/ )
d) get one of those MadKatz arcade controller things! (I don't really like doing that for just one game :/ also not serious enough of a player to warrant such a purchase)
e) "stop playing right now, I don't want a noob to ruin my awesome game!" (hey fuck you buddy!)

New screen arrived omg
General | Posted 14 years agoThe Dell Ultrasharp u2412m arrived yesterday, had a little time setting things up (default colors are swell, had to tone down the brightness and contrast though (running at 35 brightness, 75 contrast right now. Any suggestions which feels more pleasant to the eye?), and using this as a standard, I can honestly say...
the Cintiq is freakishly bright, no wonder my colors seem too dark when I look at them on the main monitor.
Anyway, aside from the overall color improvement, I'm also happy with the USB ports worked into the screen. Perfectly useable as a hub for my keyboard and mouse, along with two sideports for temporary devices such as a webcam or smartphone.
Yay, disposable income! <3

Musing on future commission pricing. Damn you $ VS €
General | Posted 14 years agoWith the possibility of Dalehan commissions coming closer at hand, I have been musing over possible pricing again. Now...
This is a bit of a kicker to me, how do EU based artists base their pricing on overseas commissioners? Do you give your base pricing in €, or do you start with $?
For example... and forgive me for the interest in the financial side, but hey, money is money, and I don't want to undermine my own value, nor overprice my work:
For my Leona image (soft shading, one character, semi-detailed background), I received 50€. Now, this is fine to me because it was an EU customer and no currency conversion took place. It also felt like proper compensation for the time I put into it, so the price seemed like a good base to focus a pricing rate on.
NOW!
If I would keep the rate at 50€, that would mean a US client would pay me 68$ for the same contect. Different currency or not, it still "feels" like I'd be asking too much after conversion.
But if I'd ask 50$, I'd only end up with 36€. Which would've been the price I'd probably ask for a cell-shaded with simple background image.
Also... comic pages, cellshaded with not too detailed backgrounds, what would be a good price for those? I've been offered a commission for some comic pages, but because I never did such commissions before I don't really know... >.<
FUCK WHY COULDN'T I HAVE BEEN BORN IN THE US! I hate it here :(

A new year coming up, promises to myself...
General | Posted 14 years ago- Get a fucking life. I promised it to myself last year and I failed at it, but I can't give up on that one just yet. I've been... improving, at least. But I really want to meet some like-minded people in my region. As of today I still don't have a social life, and I'm turning freaking 26 in a month XO!
- Draw more. Play less. Though, I won't be able to keep my hands off of Guild Wars 2 when it's coming...
- In regards to drawing... open up commissions. If I plan to draw more, I shouldn't neglect people who have too much money to spare. >:D
- In another regard to drawing... if I plan a project, DO IT! Start drawing a comic. Don't care if it's not big with the audience, I should draw because I love to and want to entertain others, not because I need money (I already have a daytime job for that).
- FUCK I KEEP REGARDING THE DRAWING DON'T I! For people who've been asking for a trade before (you know who you are), I'll just go ahead and draw for them as a gift. Because they've inspired me since I've started watching their art. It's time I'm giving them something back, no strings attached. (Don't get offended if I don't respond to a sudden flood of trade notes now, I do have my priorities and preferences :p)
That's all.

[Random YT] Don't touch the hips!
General | Posted 14 years agoFinal PC upgrade incoming: new monitor
General | Posted 14 years agoAs a final purchase to end my crazy buying spree, I've ordered myself a Dell Ultrasharp 24" monitor, after recommendations from my friend who's doing freelance illustration work.
I should have it somewhere next week-ish, I'm looking forward to it... currently I'm working with a 6 year old Samsung Syncmaster 24", but with color calibration being the bane of my current work, I no longer trust that monitor either. Having a IPS screen with a very accurate STANDARD setting would benefit me greatly in that regard, even if I'm using the Cintiq to draw. I'd have an accurate second screen to monitor my colors this way, and can try to match the majority of the Cintiq's colors with it as well.
I can't waaaait! :x
On a sidenote in regard to yesterday's journal:
- unsubbed from WoW, properly this time. I probably skipped a step or two last time when they kept asking for reasons why I'm quitting.
- amounts of shits given about SWOTOR = 0. I-don't-like-Star-Wars. My next MMORPG will be Guild Wars 2. Untill then, no MMORPGs for me anymore. Charr Engineer INC!

Finally, I'm free from the ... well, childish room I've been sleeping in since I was 7 or so. :/
