I'm so horrible about updating!
Posted 12 years agoI always seem to forget about FA. Although, I've never been much good at updating journals in general, so that might have something to do with it.
Working on a few leather commissions currently, which has been terribly interesting. One is a Hercules costume for my cosplaying brother - I've enjoyed trying to figure out how to assemble it so that it will look its best.
I'm in the process of starting another few projects - one is a collaboration with a friend, another is part of another friend's new initiative. I'm excited about both, really. I'll post more once they're ready for prime time.
Knitting has also been going full swing - I've got an Estonian lace commission that is killing me, and back to SO MANY BABIES to knit for as well :) It's always lovely to have to get some of those time sensitive project on my list, even if they do displace other projects.
That's been what's keeping me out of trouble, and I'm looking forward to continuing to find new and exciting projects. :)
And now, if you will excuse me, I have things to hit with hammers!

I'm an Amber. For convenience sake, it's easier to go with Damaris or Dam, just due to some of the people I hang with.

I'm currently single. Maybe looking. Not sure about that yet.

I work on leathercraft quite a bit. I also knit, and read, and I'm currently in the process of exploring a new city. I also spend way too much time online.

I'm a community relations specialist for the State of Ohio.
8. What's one thing you like about yourself?
I feel like I'm good at picking up concepts, when I apply myself to it. I love to learn.
9. Alright, now what about something you dislike about yourself?
I'm too nice sometimes. I find it difficult to tell people no, which is something I'm working on.

I'm honesty not sure. No one has ever said. :)

I am pagan, and celebrate a lot of the Jewish culture. I also grew up Lutheran, and have maintained my church membership up near my adopted family.

I don't drink any more. I don't drink any less either :)

Crowds, to some extent. I find them overwhelming.

To travel, to build relationships, and to experience a multitude of new things.

Being dismissed because I'm young/a woman/etc.

New City

I've just moved from Indiana to the lovely Columbus, Ohio - which so far seems to be a nice change. The new apartment has plenty of space for my workspace, which will be fabulous - I'm looking forward to getting it all squared away and organized.
I've got a few commissioned projects in the pipeline, and some new styles I'm excited about trying! Construction techniques, sculpting, hair carving - it should be exciting. Need to build that portfolio!

Craft and Art Central
Posted 14 years agoIt's been an odd few months, I have to say. But, happily, things have calmed down, and I'm now able to concentrate on getting through my queue!
I've got bracelet badges I'm working on for two awesome people, and I'm looking forward to learning some new carving techniques in the near future for fur (I've got a killer wolf head pattern to practice on, and then I'm making some of my own!).
There must also be something in the water - because SO MANY BABIES! I'm digging my way through a baby blanket backlog (three down!). Thankfully, they're doing me a favor and spreading out the due dates!
In the meantime, MFF is fast approaching, as is Further Confusion (yay, first trip there!) and the holiday season! So much fun, so little time!
