I'd like to get back into the art and furry game. I will probably never take commissions again, at least not outside of very close friends. It's just not for me. I wanna enjoy doing art again. my desire and motivation and inspiration to draw has basically been non-existent forever. I draw a little bit, but very very rarely and I forget to upload anything and...yeahhh :'D

i feel like i make this kind of journal every year, full of promises and hopes and resolutions I intended to keep at the time, but never do. So who knows if this ramble will hold any more value than any other journal like this I've done...or maybe this will be the time I actually follow through with something -- who knows!!

Let's start with the usual of all these journals -- I want to post more. I want to draw more again in general and have actual content to share with you all. It's been on going for yEARS now for me of just...not drawing until I absolutely have to and its just...become not fun anymore that way? I want to ENJOY it again, ya know? If anyone has any suggestions for dealing with that, feel free to share, please!

The other probs obvious is I want to work on things I'm not good at -- shading, backgrounds, dynamic poses, maybe anthro down the line, EVERYTHING. I just want to actually improve and strive for more than just being complacent with where I'm at and doing the same thing over and over again. I just want to experiment and try new things and...not hate everything I create? I still need to figure out how to get into that mindset of 'you're learning, don't be so hard on yourself', otherwise I just stop...trying because its not perfect the first time LOL. Again if anyone has any suggestions on that....

And speaking of having fun with things, I think I'm going to take a step back from the NSFW art. Because I just...don't have fun with it anymore. It was fun at first, and tbh I still don't MIND doing it. But I just...want to get to draw clean stuff again and be liked for more than just drawing dog dick lmao. Really I'll just probs take less NSFW commissions (whenever I do start taking coms again) and have an adult content fee. IDK haven't decided yet. BUT YEAH. I don't have fun drawing porn anymore, so I'm just...not going to, unless it's something I really want to do, probs for myself //shrugs

I really want to start getting into character design and that sort of stuff. IDK if I wanna make it a career -- probably not tbh, but who knows down the line. I've been pretty dead within the community lately, with no real reason or explanation :'D
other than I'm going through a funk where I hate everything I draw lmao and rather than pushing through my lack of motivation and trying anyway, I just sit here and sulk about it

omggg how do i even start
let's just jump right into it!

So at the beginning of june i opened for monthly coms in order to cover bills and such because I didn't have a job. Well not a week later I GOT A CALL BACK from a call center I had applied to. Went in for the interview, got the job! Full time, training was late night (3pm to 12am) and then working normal hours, even tho it was still considered training, from 2pm to 11pm. Basically I was tired and asleep whenever I was home :'D and I couldn't use my phone or even draw on paper at work and it got suuuuper boring and slow as it got later into the night LOL

But middle of the second week of being there, one of the many dog daycare places I had applied to before called me in for an interview! I couldn't say no bc dogs so I went and did that and after another 3 days, they offered me the job! BYE BYE CALL CENTER LOL

I love the dogs so much but wow im a week in and I HURT
EVERYTHING HURTS i am sore aaaalll the time ;w; its awful LOL im ready for my muscles to be used to it by now ugh. My body is doing things its never done before and woW its painful LOL. I literally come home and lay down and die every day cuz i hurt so bad XD rip me. i hope i get used to it and i hope thats soon cuz wow ;w; ANYWAYYY
the hours at the daycare are much more reasonable! it's still full time, but ive been doing 2pm to 7pm most days and then there's a split shift that I've done one (full 10 hour day with a 3 hour break in between shifts). My goal is to do four 10 hour days and then get 3 days off! but right now theyre easing me into it and im super glad bc wow my body is not ready XD i did one split shift on sunday and MANNN
BUT YES that's my goal!! I dunno how often I'll be taking any commissions tho. I'm waiting till I get into the groove of things now before even thinking about that.

Eeeyy! So this is just a little journal to let everyone know that I'm going to be taking commissions regularly for a bit and how I plan on doing so! :D

So I just finished up my AA at community college and am officially graduated! However, since my job was a work study position there, graduating means..well, I lost my job :'D fun stuff! Terrie is still working, but his income can't keep us going alone. I'm currently job hunting and my hopes are high for places getting back to me! But in the mean time, we gotta make our monthly rent and internet bills. Since I don't know when I'll get hired or when I'll get paid/how much when I do, I've decided to start taking commissions monthly!

This means I'll be taking a certain number of commissions at the beginning of the month (or until all slots are full), with a month turn around time! If anything is finished early, I might take on more if needed!
I'll be setting up a schedule for myself and working on art Mon-Fri, giving myself the weekends off! I might even attempt streaming at some point? :D I'm gonna work hard and discipline myself and hopefully this not only gets us through the time until I get a different job, but hoping it'll help me establish myself more as an artist in the community? These are my goals at least! :D
