It's already Tuesday again!? That week went by fast!
Well, not that much has happened. Just busy busy busy! I did however, manage to create my very first dubstep! Woot! \^__^/ It has been a long time coming (giggity). Is it perfect? No! But I have made wonderful progress in the digital music arts and I am proud. ^_^

In other news. Has anyone seen the new Godzilla? I haven't yet, but I certainly would like to. I was a big fan of the old godzilla movies as a pup. And honestly, they're even more entertaining now! XD
Thanks to the hype over the new reboot, Netflix has uploaded several of the old movies. I watched Godzilla vs. Monster Zero the other day. I was laughing my tail off! It's so ridiculous! I know it's from a different time and country, but I was starting to think it wasn't meant to be taken seriously.
Watching it made me miss that old game "Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters: Melee" Anyone else have that game? Just an extremely entertaining wrestling-type game that let you go pick any monster in the Godzilla franchise and brawl in cities all over the world! Man, that was so much fun! I should go find it in a used game store.
But anyway, I do want to see the new Godzilla. But mostly to support the continuation of the franchise. There's nothing that exciting about a giant lizard tearing down buildings while the military redundantly tries to kill it. What I want to see is the return of Gidorah, Rodan, Anguiras, and the other monsters. I would pay big money to see a modern remake of Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla! You can't say that wouldn't be epic! So truthfully, I don't expect much from the new movie, but I hope for better things in the future.
And now as mandated by the internet gods you may ask me any question! X3

Now on to other matters!
Anyone else out there a fan of vinyl? Meaning music. When my mom came to visit me last week, she was so extremely kind to bring me my old record player and most of my vinyl collection. And I am thrilled! If only I could burn a vinyl record as I could burn a cd, all my music would be in that format. n_n
Buy I'm a sucker for old-fashioned things. Guess it's just how I grew up! Watching boomerang, and T.V Land at grandma and grandpas house growing up. Back when they actually had GOOD shows on. Not the awful original programming and shows that didn't exist until the last decade. v.v
When I was extremely little my parents would play vinyl records for me and my brother. Even some story albums, like Treasure Island! And the tale of "Peter and the Wolf" narrated by none other than Captain Kangaroo! XD
But only until recent years did I come to have a true appreciation for old music. Big band, swing, and jazz now fill most of my collection (which I received mostly from my parents). Sadly, when I say "most" it's not much. My collection is small. Money has always been tight, and listening to music from the internet for free is much more pleasing to my wallet. Though if I were rich, I would have a library of vinyl records. Of music from all eras.
But I've rambled on long enough. I could go on and on about my favorite albums in my possession. Perhaps another time. If you read my journals I'm sure you'll hear a lot about my thoughts on music. ^^
But for now... I have a drunken Portal 2 playdate! Ta-ta for now! =P

Posted 11 years agoWow! It's been over a year since I've been to a convention. I'd forgotten how it felt. To be in a safe place to be openly furry, with open and friendly people (well, not everybody. But hey, this is still planet earth). It's a small convention. Really the kind of place to make your own fun, rather than find it. Went to some cool panels. My mom won a cake decorating contest. No one else stood a chance. X3 And I saw an inspiring panel on drawing comics! What does this mean for you watchers? You'll have to wait and see! ;3 My mom's panel was a big success! Lots of attendees. I truly believe she's making a difference in this fandom. And outside it!
I met some cool people. I'm sure we'll meet again. ^^ That's the fun part about the fandom. You can always expect to run into friends down the road, no matter where you are. :3 Of course the flopside is that you also run into people you don't want to see (#furrydrama). But! You take the good. You take the bad. You take 'em both. And there you have the facts of life. =P
I've never been a photo opportunist, so don't expect many fursuit photos from this account. I figure there are plenty of talented photographers out there that deserve the spotlight for that sort of thing. ^^ Though for such a small con, I was surprised at the size of the fursuit parade! Lot more suiters than I expected. Twas a pleasant surprise. ^_^
We only stayed for Friday and Saturday. But by leaving time, I was certainly disappointed to be leaving so soon. I currently have my sights set on Anthrocon. I've got the dough, but I need to find a room. Hopefully there's some generous furs out there looking for another roommate? -puppy eyes- I don't bite. I promise! ;3

First order of business:
I have a vacation! Finally! I have been working my keister off for a long time. I still don't have any vacation days, but my work schedule changes every week. And it just so happens I have this Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday off. And I decided to take off Friday as well and enjoy a long needed break. =3
Also, parent is visiting!
My fantastic mother is coming to town for the weekend. We will be attending Morphicon in Columbus, OH this weekend together. That's right... I'm going with my mom. Morphicon is her latest stop in a near year-long furry con panel tour. She will be speaking about helpful tactics to manage depression, and will be sharing on her own struggle with depression and her attempted suicide. In my experience there seems to be an abundance of anxiety/depression in this fandom, and I believe her panel can do a lot of good. For those of you going to Morphicon, her panel will be on Friday. And for those of you not dealing with depression but have friends who are, my mom will also be hosting a panel on Saturday about how to be there for them without becoming personally overwhelmed.
So if you going to Morphicon, feel free to stop by and educate yourself on some hard topics.
And then I'll be seeing you in the gaming room to get back to the fun! B3

Posted 12 years agoI've been enjoying my unannounced break from the stresses of online socializing (If that's what you call what I do here). But for some reason I feel a desire to once again vent to my peers. You know how sometimes songs say things better then we would've worded them? In fact, sometimes songs can even make us realize things about ourselves that we wouldn't have thought of otherwise. For some reason, I felt like comprising a list of sentences and pieces of songs that have meaning to me, and I feel describe my feelings. Posted 12 years agoYup. I was sitting on a bench, listening to music, talking with my little brother, when I heard the click-clack of rocks hitting the sidewalk near me. I ignored them. Then a couple stones hit me and I realized four guys were throwing rocks at me! I just stayed completely still and didn't engage them (as is my normal response when being annoyed). Most of the group walked, but the last hit the side of my head and grabbed my phone! Bastards! I called the police and told them what little I could. I can safely assume they never caught the culprits.
The next day [iconriffnote] came and gave me a ride to a nearby T-Mobile store. My intention was to cancel my account. However they informed I was actually eligible for an upgrade promotion! They hooked me up with a new phone that will be paying off for the next two years for only $5/month. And I now have a new phone plan with everything I had before, for $10/month cheaper!
Should I be thanking the low-lives? No. I would gladly step on their necks and make the one who grabbed my phone swallow it whole as I kept the new one. However that's likely to never happen until I get some sort of training. I'm not leaving this city (as much as it's made me try from the moment I arrived). When I have the money to spare I will be receiving my "concealed carry" license. Lord knows I have no fear in drawing a weapon on another man to defend myself and my property. This city is trying to kill me. I say let it try.

Some consolation to all my friends
Posted 12 years agoI know many of you have shown concern for me in the past, and all for good reason. And I know it's been some time since I've spoken of any of this. I've kept silent for my own reasons, mostly wanting to give all of you a break from my own incessant drama. Also to keep me from constantly making a fool of myself. But I digress. My point is this. I've noticed a small change growing in me over the past couple weeks. Perhaps something my friends have done or said has finally gotten into me, or perhaps I simply needed time. Nevertheless, I feel I am slowly regaining my soul. Slowly. I still have so much to conquer, I truly do. My last feeling of utter despair was within the past week. But... I feel it much less often. I often find myself dreaming of things I want to aspire to. Once more, after all this time. Hopefully... if the world will let me continue to heal for once without dealing another blow... I can become myself again. But only time will tell.

Posted 12 years agoDoes anyone know how to compress animated GIF files so they can fit the 50KB requirement for icons? I have an animated icon I want to upload but was forced to cut frames and lose the color. I want my icons to be viewed in their full glory. XP
