For awhile now, I've been giving myself a headache over remembering something I've seen as a child. A movie, animated and somewhat anime looking that I've been WRACKING my mind around for so long. I don't remember the name of it, and none of my family members ever remember the movie when I try my best to explain it, so...

PLEASE help me try and figure out what this movie was D:
All I really remember of it were a couple of scenes in it, and I'll try to explain them to the best of my abilities.
Alright, now I know that the movie's plot centered around this young guy and his dog who (I think?) end up in this spirit infested world, and (I think?) they're trying to get out. The beginning starts off with him trying to ask this lady for her hand in marriage while she's in this (carriage?) like thing, but she refuses. After some little bits I cant really remember, the guy is all alone being all moppy with his dog, when all of the sudden these two old geezers suddenly show up, fighting one another using (I think?) magic of some sort, and the guy, caught in the middle, is panicked. I know that one of em was tall and thin, while the other was chubby and short. I also think they were ghost hunters as well. But yeah, later on we then go to a scene where this old lady like thing is hungry for human souls, and how she eats them is through her nose (Yeah, this I CLEARLY remember) and she tasks this very beautiful ghost lady to go and hunt for her. This ghost lady is also a major character throughout the movie.
Now the rest of what I remember are rather fuzzy; random scenes in the movie really. I remember that the ghosts in it couldn't be out in daylight, else they'd burn. The main ghost chick was about to die in the sun rays, but the guy shields her by going on top of her while she is on the ground. Another scene I remember is that there's this...giant dancing (or singing?) dude that starts going after them after somethin happened (cant remember) and lastly, near the very end, the main guy, his dog, and the ghost chick go into this thing that has hammers in it, and who ever gets hit my them is regressed by age; they turn younger. The guy manages to go through this (gate?) and gets back home, and his dog turns into a cat at the end...?
Yeah, its been so long since I've seen this movie, so most scenes I cant really remember, there were minor stuff too, but I felt they wouldn't really help me in finding it.
Got any ideas as to what this movie is guys?
