I am definitely going to AC 2014, I bought the ticket on Thursday! All I need is another roommate to make the cost of the room a little lighter, although I already bought the ticket... so no backing out now!

Anyways, it's Easter Sunday, and I fell asleep in the church service I was at... oopsies. In my defense though... my paster seems to just have this tone that he has that just lulls me to sleep, no matter how much sleep I got the night before... so there's that to consider.

I also have work this afternoon, so I'll be getting time and a half for that. Probably the one good thing that's happened today for me.

A note on how I feel about Easter... sure I go to church and I was raised as a Baptist Christian, but still, I hear the Easter story every year, and it makes me feel good for a time, that he came up from the grave to forgive our sins and make us hopeful... but at the same time... I feel almost regret that I don't buy into it as much as I used to. The Hallmark Easter isn't much better... the Easter bunny delivering eggs to all the children? Come on now, consumerism America. Jesus fucking Christ...

... it's nothing to be heeded. I just feel lonely, and not like the kind of lonely where no one is talking to me. The kind of lonely where it seems like everyone notices you, but doesn't actually interact with you... not to mention having nobody to turn to for romance...

Ever since the start of April, my life has been seeming especially painful as realization upon realization dawns on me... for one thing, I will probably never leave my home town, because my job is a dead end and they will not help me get anywhere. For two, I may not be going to AC 2014 this year because my job isn't giving me hours, in fact, ANY spending money I have is drastically reduced. For three, my own mind is sabotaging me, convincing itself that I have no purpose... it's only a matter of time now...

Personally, I think any holiday that gets its notoriety by pulling pranks on unsuspecting victims shouldn't be celebrated at all. It's even worse when you are trying to do something important to you, whether it be your job or your personal pleasure, only to come to the realization that you had been led on.

My dad woke me up today, saying someone was at the door for me, and I got up way too quickly, thus resulting in a massive headache. I got downstairs, only to realize that it was an April Fools joke... hilarious... now I have a headache to deal with.

Long story short, April Fools day, which thrives on jokes and hoaxes, is in and of itself the biggest joke of all. Ironic, right?

Quite a bit has happened since I last posted an update, hence why I'm posting it now, as opposed to sooner where my update journal would have been a "Hey what's up?" instead of an update.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled today, at 9:30 in the morning. I got to the pediatrics center (Cuz I'm borderline age limit for their services, whut!) and I realized that I forgot my photo ID, which I needed to prove I was old enough to sign my own forms. Then they took me into the waiting room, where I played Pokemon X until I was hooked up to the IV drip and taken into the operating room. I was put to sleep and the operated on me. They took 3 wisdom teeth out in 21 minutes. Now I'm in for soreness in my mouth and bleeding for a couple days. Fun right?

I got Pokemon X this past weekend, made it past the second gym leader so far. Progress.

Work is going alright... but I think I'm going to try looking for another job again though, it's starting to suck working for them. My sleep schedule is in tatters because of their alternation between afternoon shifts and morning shifts in my schedule. Not to mention I'm only paid $7.63 and hour, and I could easily find better wages elsewhere.

Hey guys, what's up with you all?

Well, for me, not a lot is going on, but I had to get rid of the dumb act of pessimism I wrote at Anthrocon while I was being homesick, so here goes:

Finding a job to replace the one I work at now is proving to be harder for me than I thought... despite the fact all the college students are in the process of going back to school around now, it seems the vultures are picking up the scraps before I can find a decent place to get hired. I really don't want to work in fast food, since my facial conditions are already rather bad, what with acne and all... but if I have to do that, then so be it.

I also recently got a laptop, so it helps alleviate my boredom as well as communicating with friends or family without worrying about a set timeframe. I was borrowing my little brother's computer for a while, which meant I had from the time I woke up in the morning to the time he got back from being out of the house, usually 4pm to do whatever I wanted. So now that I have my own, I'm not on a timeframe anymore. Yay!
