I'm off to Rainfurrest on thursday! I'll be rooming with  thrashwolf this year, and there will be much Derpy suiting and fun times so wave if you see me!

But first comes Wednesday, where I meet up with  catmonkshiro and  dan_raccoon for a day of Seattle-themed shenanigans. Just hope the weather cooperates somewhat!

So I went out to Best Buy today to try out the new Smash bros for WiiU and 3DS!

For 3DS they let us try the Smash Run mode, in which I chose Greninja... and wow, is he impressive. If you're following the Smash Bros site, you know about his special moves already, but his up smash is sweet... he does a parallel upwards slash with two water swords from both side of him. My favorite move he had was his down spike aerial attack... it is similar to Link's downward strike, but when you connect, you actually bounce up off the hit character and can do it again if you want to.

For WiiU I decided to play the Wii Fit Trainer... and I felt like I was doing something wrong with him. His volleyball special move was really fun, cause the trajectory of the ball after you hit it goes straight for a random character. I found it very hard to get used to his jumping abilities, though... he seems to jump higher than most characters, but he has the same lateral movement speed, so his jump arc is very different from others. Also got to see Zero Suit Samus' new Final Smash, where she jumps in her ship and you get to control a targeting reticule kinda like Snake's Final Smash crossed with the fully assembled Dragoon ship from Brawl.

All in all I am super excited for the games, and was especially impressed with the 3DS version because it looked and played really, really well.

Anybody gonna get this game? It looks pretty hilarious, but highly dependent on you knowing others that are getting it also. MY BODY IS READY, COME AT ME BRO.

Well my move to my new place is almost done, just got one more load tomorrow basically of nonvital stuff. The new place is looking pretty good... but maaan is there gonna be a lot of unpacking involved heh. Can't wait to cross that finish line and relax for a bit before I gotta go back to work.

So I got back home safe from FC, which was a lot of fun.

Now comes the hard part... I have to move apartments this weekend, oh joooyyyy... luckily  runt is here to help me out, but I may be without teh internets for awhile.

Maaan, I am so regretting not going to Everfree Northwest this year. It's happening literally down the street from me, and here I am stuck working all weekend. It looks like so much fun D=

Well got a call from my parents today, and they had to put my dog down today. He was kinda old and was having hip problems, and they said that when they were out walking him he fell down and couldn't get back up... so they took him to get put down. I haven't seen him in awhile, but I'll miss him forever.

So, I know many of us here are gamers. So my question to all of you is, do you listen to the video game's music when you play, or do you mess with the settings to minimize or eliminate the music in favor of something else?

To me, I've found my enjoyment of a game relates directly to the music. It might just be because I am a HUGE audiophile, but if there is no music going on in a game, I just can't get into it at all.

So I had a lot more fun this year than last year at RF. Since I live very close to the hotel, I opted to stay at my apartment and just head there every day instead of staying in the hotel itself, which worked okay.  thrashwolf stayed with me at the apartment too, which was awesome.

The con itself was a ton of fun. I wound up finding  tugs randomly and hanging out with him a decent amount which was cool. I also met new friends like  circafox which is always great at a con.

 thrashwolf was even nice enough to let me borrow one of his suits for the con, so I got to suit and even take part in the parade which was quite the fun experience. Later on at night we discovered that the AWESOME pool area of the hotel had a gas-lit firepit area, which became our defacto hang-out spot at night.

On a rather annoying note, since the hotel is so close to where I live... I wound up bumping into a friend from work who didn't know about me at the con. While wearing one of my girliest badges. Le sigh... cat's out of the bag I suppose. He's a really gossipy guy too so I assume all my other rl friends will be finding out soon enough. I can only hope a shitstorm isn't brewing there, but I'm tired of hiding so if they ask anything I'll just flat out tell them and if they can't deal, then fuck em.

So I wake up this morning and my laptop's dead! ~$750 later, I'm now waiting a day or two to import my data from my old one to a new one I bought. When it rains shit, it pours apparantly.

So I went to the midnight showing of Avengers last night, and it was super awesome! For a 2.5 hour movie it never got boring even once, which I find very surprising. The pacing was very nice also. If you go to see it, make sure to stay ALL THE WAY to the end of the credits, because there's a scene in the middle of the credits, but also one after the credits finish too.

Also, I saw it in 3-D and while the effects were nice, they are by no means necessary, and actually it would be better to save your money and see it without 3-D if you can.

It's my birthday. Hopefully things will turn out okay.

Oh my god... karma has been taking the biggest shit on me all day today.

First off, I try to head downtown to get comic books today after a long annoying day saving the world at work. The bathroom in the literail station is locked, or out of order or being cleaned or some shit, so I have to walk all the way back to the airport to change out of my work clothes. Not a big deal, but because of that I swipe my card twice for the literail, and the second swipe cancels the initial trip payment, but with no visual confirmation that it cancelled the swipe. so OF COURSE on the literail with my shitty luck fare enforcement shows up, and has a talk with me since they can see I hadn't swiped my card. So I likely have a fine coming in the mail now, yay.

So I get downtown on the literail, and then hop on the bus to go the rest of the way. The bus then proceeds to break down because the door wouldn't close. So I get stuck waiting a good half hour for a replacement bus.

So I get my comic books, and get home. Then I get a call from my parents saying Wells Fargo called about debit card charges. Which is just bizarre because I changed all my billing address info when I moved, but APPARANTLY they can't be bothered to link their card account information with their savings/checking account information. How the fuck this works, I don't understand. SO ANYWAY, I call them and find out some jackass in Pennsylvania somehow has gotten my card # and has made a few charges on it. I get them all on a fraud claim... but now I'm out the tune of $2300, and my debit card is disabled. Just in time for my cartrip I had planned to Portland to hang out with Thrashwolf.
