Gentlemen! Someone needs to make light-up Reaper hats from the Mass Effect series! This needs to happen!

Well my flight back to Seattle got cancelled due to snow. I was rebooked to leave, but not until Sunday! So after I said my goodbyes to Fiona I went and talked to the ticket counter lady and was able to use my skunkydragon charms to get rebooked to leave Saturday instead. Annoying, but at least it won't require me to burn more annual leave at work since I have Saturdays off normally. Pepe and Mirawais were nice enough to let me crash at their place for the night tonight, so at least things are looking up for now...

Me and fiona got all checked into the hotel! We're in the Marriott, room 1117.

So RF was certainly a different animal than I'm used to. This was the first RF I've ever been to, having only been to FC before. If I had to compare the two, FC is like a crazy party, whereas RF is more of a social gathering. It was kind of nice to not have to be in 3 places at once, though there did seem to be quite a few times where nothing was going on and I was almost bored. I'm sure that'll fix itself once I've met more WA furs.

So this was also the first time I'd tried not staying at the con hotel since I live just up the hill about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel. It started out okay, but having to trek that distance with a backpack, only to realize later I'd forgotten something or wish I'd brought something with me quickly became quite a pain in the ass. Luckily I wasn't the only one that felt that way, and my good friend Cryn who was staying with me decided to get us a room at the hotel.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I drove up to Ferndale to get Kitsuna to go to her first con with me and Cryn, and she had lotsa fun!

We all went to the Pony Party, and wow that was a blast. So many people showed up for it they had to move it to the second biggest room at the con. We must have easily had 10% of the con in that room, and it was really fun.

There was lotsa hanging out and chatting and other fun stuff. Maybe sometime I'll get around to scanning and posting the badge I got commissioned.

So we tried the whole walking to the hotel every day thing since I live so close, and decided not to continue walking. So, we got a room! It's 1480.

So while hanging out with zanzan and fax and co. today I find out Rainfurrest is being held in the hilton literally right down the street from my apartment! Well now I have to go!

Saw transformers 3 todays! Went and hung out with Zanzan and Fax and a few other furs, then we all went padded to the movies, woooo! We were quite the soggy cubs/hatchies after that movie was over.... it was nice and long.

So what did I think of the movie? No Megan Fox = muuuch better movie. Also, the movie itself was probably the best one... yeah even better than the first Bayformers movie. I like how the story is reasonably well contained... and it wraps itself up nicely at the end so they don't need to make another one really. Which is kind of a good thing, because they sure kill off a decent amount of characters this time! We're not talking on a 80's transformers movie level, but quite a few I didn't expect to get the axe (and in one case quite literally). It was pretty awesome that they got Leonard Nimoy to play a transformer again, even if it wasn't Galvatron this time.

Also a tip: there's nothing after the credits this time so you don't hafta sit through them if you don't feel like it.

I made it to Seattle in one piece. It's pretty cool here, and my apartment isn't bad either. The ride down was fun, if not very long. My butt was sore from those car seats after only the first day XD
Now if I can just get my wireless router working then it'll be all good.

Soo I leave to drive down to Seattle on Sunday! I dunno when I'll lose my internet here, but this'll be goodbye for prolly a week or so... til I can get my internet in order down there. Maybe I'll luck out and find a router to leech off of right away, but maybe not. Byebye for now~

I'm moving to Seattle next month, whee!
Sooooo much to get ready though, uuuuggggh... dun have a place to live yet either. Anybody got suggestions for nice areas preferrably near the airport?

So there's a good chance that starting on Saturday, me and all other federal employees other than elected officials will be not getting paid. Problem is, essential personnel will still have to work. So that means starting Saturday I get to work for free. FUCK YOU CONGRESS.

I'm leavin tomorrow to work for a month in Vegas! Flight leaves at 6am, will get in around 3pm. Also got my work shift, and... it's gonna be rough that's for damn sure.

430 AM to 1PM with monday/tuesday off. UGH, soooo early! D=
So as a result of my drastically different schedule expect to see me online at different times of the day than usual, and I will definitely not be online very late at night.

Soo FC was super amazingly fun this year, mainly because I had Fionacat with me the whole time.
I don't remember the specifics of what all went on at FC, but I met up with Mirawais and celebrated his birthday, met up with Stormdragonblue and Kahncub and celebrated Stormy's birthday early... and also finally got to meet Shiro. Cool guy, but maaaan does he attract a crowd, to the point that it's hard to get a word in edgewise. Also met up with Cryn, Lincub, Pepe, Ruben Flonne, Showtime Yoshi, and various other furs who I can't recall off the top of my head.

So after FC was over me and Fiona picked up the rental car. We got a new Chrysler Sebring, and man that is a good car! We were able to drive from San Jose to LA and back on only one tank of gas! And it's only a 20 gallon tank too! Such an improvement compared to my Ford Exploder.

So we took the Sebring, who we nicknamed Chris, and the satnav which we nicknamed Sandra, all over the place. Must have put at least 1500 miles on the thing, but we didn't have to pay per mile because of the awesome deal Fiona got. First we went down to LA and checked out Disneyland the first day, then California Adventure the next day. It was a super fun time, and we both agreed that California Adventure was the more fun park of the two. That park will only get better in 2012 when the Cars-themed land opens... looks like an awesome coaster is going up there.

We also checked out the Monterey Bay Aquarium which was just awesome. We did the behind the scenes tour and found out some pretty amazing stuff about the facility. Plus watching the otters get fed was super adorable ^^

On another day we met Pepe and Mirawais and went to the Winchester Mystery House. It was really cool, but we agreed it could have been better if the rooms were fully furnished or something.

We also went up to San Rafael to meet up with a good friend of mine, Galaytormus. She was super cool, and her husband was also quite cool.... and their lil rugrat was very entertaining as well.

Finally we went to Japantown in San Fransisco and went to the mall there. It was sooo amazing, I wanted to buy almost everything I saw, but due to trunk space really couldn't. XD

A lil bad news though... we both realized too late that we miscalculated the day we were supposed to fly back on and missed our flights >.< Luckily we were able to rebook and add days on to the hotel and rental... but maaaan was it expensive for me. Somehow fiona got rebooked with no additional fees, whereas I pretty much had to purchase a whole new ticket which wound up being as much as I had originally paid for the round trip tickets. X.X

All in all though, an amazing trip. Can't wait til next year already, and I'm not even home yet. :P

ALSO.... being up for 24 hours makes me even more strange. Doo doot doo...
