Friend made an Anthrocon music video
Posted 13 years agoAnthrocon 2012 - Fox's Voyage - Conclusion
Posted 13 years agoSo I arrived home yesterday from my AC2012 trip.
PCD is hitting a bit, tbh, but I'm doing ok.
The con was amazing. Thanks to Uncle Kage, the entire Anthrocon staff and every volunteer and attendee for making it happen. Easily the most epic con I have ever been to.
I got to fursuit more than I have ever done, and enjoyed it immensely.
I've decided though, that I need contacts. My glasses are simply too uncomfortable after being in suit for awhile. Even so, it was fun, and I can't wait to do it again.
I bought a lot of stuff, but managed to not completely wipe out my bank account, for which I am proud of.
All in all, it was awesome. I'm not sure what else to say. For those that were there, you know what I'm talking about.
I will be posting pictures of the con in the upcoming weeks as I regain my energy and interest in things. PCD right now is kinda keeping me from having a lot of creative drive, but I will get there.
I'm also planning a music video type of thing, I have A TON of footage of the con between my own camera and that of my friend
hihey9989 to work with, so that should be awesome when completed.
Already planning for MFF 2012 now. I'm bummed that AC is over, but MFF is only another 5 months away, and I know that time will go fast.
Thanks again to everyone who took part in AC for making it an awesome convention! My 3rd con, and the best one yet!!

Anthrocon 2012 - Fox's Voyage pt7
Posted 13 years agoWhat an insanely long day.
Spent a good portion of my day today fursuiting. I am not sure exactly how many hours were spent in suit, but I would guess at least 4, maybe upwards of 6 or 7.
I was going to go to the Dealer's Den when it opened today but ended up making other plans. Tomorrow I plan to hit it and spend all my money ><.
Spent a lot of time on the roof today actually, a good portion of it was spent helping with the Mangusu music video shoot, or in truth, dancing like the derp fox I am. Not sure if I will really be in the video all that much, as I think I was out of frame for most of the footage, and even the parts where I was in frame I probably looked so derp it wouldn't be worth keeping the shots, lol.
Got my suit re-airbrushed today and it looks great! Huge thanks to
drakonicknight for doing that for me! I'll get a picture of the new airbrushing up here soonish, maybe tonight, not sure. It looks really good though, the entire muzzle got darkened -- admittely, a little TOO dark, but I think it's better overall than the mottled greyish "faded" look it had before.
Went up to the roof with
neevipanda and
pkmotors and took some epic photos at night with our suits.
Then went to the rave during Big Blue Fox's DJing and holy cow it was epic. I even danced in suit a bit. I took off my glasses for this bit and was much more comfortable, even though I was completely blind.
I feel like this is the 3rd day of the con, but it really is only the FIRST day! Two more days to go, it's insane. I'm fucking loving this convention.

Anthrocon 2012 - Fox's Voyage pt6
Posted 13 years agoSo Thursday has come and gone here in Pittsburgh. I heard rumors today that registration for AC2012 has already surpassed AC2011's total attendance numbers. Not sure if that's true, but I believe it.
The hotel and the convention center has been absolutely packed today already, and the con doesn't officially start until tomorrow!
Went for several successful fursuit runs today, though I'm frustrated, I keep missing the big gatherings of fursuits where the media and/or BigBlueFox is recording the shenanigans.
Hopefully I'll have better luck in the next couple days.
The rave tonight was awesome too. Even got to dance a bit in suit, although that was very tiring.
Plans for tomorrow are basically to wake up early, go to opening ceremonies and then the Dealer's Den and attend a few panels.
In the afternoon I plan to go to the rooftop for the rooftop Mangusu dance video thing.
Other than that, just hanging out and suiting and stuffs.
So far it's been a great con that hasn't even begun. It should be epic tomorrow when it actually starts.

Anthrocon 2012 - Fox's Voyage pt5 *Arrival!*
Posted 13 years agoPhew, long past two days.
Got my rental car in Fargo Hector Intl Airport, was super pleased, it's a beautiful Mazda 3! <3
Our plans as spelled out in the previous journal worked flawlessly, picked everyone up and managed to cram everyone and their stuff into the car (albeit just barely).
Arrived in Pittsburgh today at 8pm. OMG... I had never taken the route into the city from the tunnel... WHAT AN EPIC VIEW OF THE CITY! You're just, in the tunnel, and then a second later it opens up and WHAM, there's Pittsburgh.
Got all settled into the hotel and spent some time hanging around the con areas and ate at the Subway nearby.
Suited up briefly and got some pictures and felt SUPER awkward around other suiters. I am not quite used to interacting with other fursuiters... I hope I figure it out by the end of the con.
However the first suiting attempt ended quickly as I was talking to
Folix I suddenly became super lightheaded and nearly tipped over. I had not drank anything but soda during the drive (and I was the only driver) so I was super tired and quickly dehydrated.
I'm feeling better now, and am typing this while in my hotel bed.
I'm in Westin 1819, but we're not having any parties, so unless I know you don't stop by without asking or messaging me first.
If anyone that is at the con wants to hang out at all or something, contact me using twitter or my google talk, which is listed on this page as well.
This is going to be an epic con. SO EXCITED!

Anthrocon 2012 - Fox's Voyage pt4
Posted 13 years agoWell, it's t-minus 7.5 hours before I have to pick up the rental car in Fargo, ND and this journey starts in earnest.
Because I may not have time to look it up and post a detailed link to it tomorrow, here is the planned route I am taking to Anthrocon this year.
Depart Fargo with
Amwulf, head for Manitowoc Wisconsin to pick up
alvey021 who is taking the S.S. Badger ferry across Lake Michigan from Ludington, MI.
Once Alvey is in tow, we turn south and head back to Madison in order to avoid Chicago, then continue south to Springfield, IL, meeting up with
hihey9989 and
Ghost001. Plan is to spend the night there and then get an early start on Wednesday for the drive to Pittsburgh.
This should be epic!!

Anthrocon 2012 - Fox's Voyage pt3
Posted 13 years agoUpdate!
Spent yesterday at Neevicon in Detroit Lakes, MN with lots of great local furs. Watched a strange anime known as Needless. All I have to say, is anime continues to be very strange.
Also got to play some of my furry MTG decks, which I will probably bring with me to AC to play in the game room. :D
Hanging out at
neevipanda's place still and will be spending the next couple days chilling with
flyinfox.
Only a couple days remain before I hit the road to Pittsburgh. I'm getting really excited.
Anyways, nothing super exciting at this point, mostly just hanging out. Will keep updating as my journey proceeds.

Posted 13 years ago*Yawns and stretches*
Well, I spent last night chatting and hanging out with my mom, and washed all the clothes I packed for Anthrocon. :D
Had a late night though due to some personal issues that cropped up that are too private to be shared here. But I'm ready to hit the road and take off the first 180 miles of my journey!
Will be heading to Fargo here shortly with my mom and my sister. We'll be getting lunch at Noodles & Company and I'll be introducing them to
flyinfox.
After that,
flyinfox and I will head out to Detroit Lakes, MN to hang out with the
redrivervallyfurs at "neevicon" :)
So not much to report yet, I'll probably post another update once "neevicon" is in full swing.

Anthrocon 2012 - Fox's Voyage pt1
Posted 13 years agoWell everyone, I'm about to pack my laptop into my backpack and leave the apartment. I don't plan to be back until June 20th after Anthrocon. :D
So far it's just me. I'm leaving my apartment and heading out to my mom's place to do some laundry and spend the night. In the morning I will be getting a ride to Fargo, ND with my sister and my mom (I'm bribing them with food) which is where the next phase will begin.
I'm pumped. Nearly two weeks away from home which will include almost a week in Pittsburgh for AC2012.
This will be one hell of a trip. I plan to chronicle it as I go, here and on twitter. If you're interested, keep an eye on the journals here and my twitter account is over here:https://twitter.com/#!/artemisdragmire
There have been quite a few last minute changes, but I think things are finally all sorted. Hopefully my bad luck won't carry over into the convention. But I'm optimistic, and greatly looking forward to everything.
Thus begins my epic trip of this year. I'll keep in touch! Wish me luck!

Friend Needs a Ride to Anthrocon -- Also has 2 room slots.
Posted 13 years agohttp://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3499820/
drakonicknight, the awesome gal who made my fursuit has hit some snags in her plans for Anthrocon this year. There are slots open for the main con hotel but she also needs a ride to the con, if one is availble.
Just reposting this so that my watchers can see and pass the word along to anyone that might be interested.

MN Furs Picnic Video -- Also Nordguard Card Game Update
Posted 13 years agoFirst, the update relating to the
Nordguard card game!
I have just been informed the first batch of Deluxe edition pre-orders sold out in under 15 minutes on the Sofawolf webpage! Wow! I'm incredibly excited that people are that interested. :D
Let me apologize to those who may not have been quick enough to snag one of em, but hope is not lost! There are several ways you can still obtain a Nordguard: Card Game Deluxe Edition. :)
The two easiest ways would be to pick one up at either Anthrocon 2012 at the big Sofawolf booth in the Dealer's Den. Those will sell out quick I'm sure, but due to the nature of the convention it should be easier to get in line and "guarantee" yourself one if you're attending.
The next easiest would be to pick one up at San Diego Comic Con at the Sofawolf Booth there. Of course, both of these require that you attend a convention, and I realize not everyone is able to do that.
There will also be another batch going on sale on line after Anthrocon. When and if I get solid dates for when this will be happening, I'll be sure to post it in a journal here for those who may have missed out.
And if all else fails, the basic sets are not nearly as limited, and if you want them signed, you can always bring them to the Sofawolf booth at a convention and get them signed by Tempo and the Blotch. I'm not at as many fur cons, but I will be at Anthrocon and MFF this year, and I also plan to attend
MNFurs meets this year, so any of those times would be fine to snag me for a signature.
Now, on to the video!
Put this together about a week ago and I wanted to share it here. This is a short video set to music of the
MNFurs spring picnic!
let me know what you think. :D

MNFurs Picnic!
Posted 13 years agoLooks like I will be going after all.
I'll be riding with
neevipanda and
flyinfox.
I will be fursuiting as well. This is a big part of why I want to go, to show off my fursuit and get some practice in before Anthrocon. :)
I've never been to one of these before, so it should be fun.

Mechwarrior Living Legends: Chrome Disguise
Posted 13 years agoCheck out the video I just put together for one of my favorite games out there right now. Well, technically a mod for Crysis Wars. Information on where you can get the mod is in the video description on Youtube.
Finally, weekend!
Posted 13 years agoTime to try and put the stress and other annoyances of this week behind me.
Off to Fargo to hang out with the
redrivervallyfurs, so that'll be fun.

Posted 13 years agoI don't do it very well.
I am lashing out at people and pets without even realising it the past month or so.
And it's not likely to stop until I'm finally done with this semester of school.
I just don't seem to handle stress well.
It doesn't help that every time I lay out a plan to deal with the things I need to deal with, something comes up and throws everything into whack and then my whole plan gets disrupted because I'm now stressed out over something new.
I don't know how to deal with this, and the only thing that ever happens is that I end up lashing out and attacking those that don't deserve it. I've done this ever since I was a child. I'm really not a very good person I guess. They say a person's true colors show when they are put under pressure, but all I ever do is crack and end up attacking those that care about me.

My iPod hates me...
Posted 13 years agoUPDATE - The Zombie iPod lives again. Maybe it'll work again now until I need to put music on it again. Ugh.
All I want to do is put music on you and have you play it to me when I'm at work or on the road. Is that so much to ask? Do I really have to throw you against the wall repeatedly like this until you work?
Ugh.
Old, old iPod, and it's been giving me problems forever.
When it was in warranty I sent it in THREE TIMES to Apple and each time they sent it back saying there was no problem. This was before the beatings of the iPod began. It refused to sync to the computer and sometimes wouldn't even be recognized. Other times, it would just give me the "sad iPod" face and not boot.
On the third time sending it in to Apple, I had the assurance from a manager at the support place that they would replace my iPod and not return the same item. I had promises they would keep their end of the bargain on this.
When I got the iPod back it was in a case that said "your new iPod replacement" and stuff. But when I opened it... I discovered the same scratched up iPod with the engraving I had put on it originally when I ordered it.
I gave up on support at that point, as I discoverd after it stopped working again and I got frustrated that if I threw it hard against the wall, or just hit it very hard, it would start working again.
This was 4 or 5 years ago and we've had an abusive relationship ever since.
Now I want to put some new music on it again, and it's being a little bitch again. So I've beaten it soundly, and now I'm going to let it rest and fully charge again before I try ONE MORE TIME to sync it up to the PC.
If it doesn't let me put the music on it again I swear I'm going to utterly destroy it and go find some alternative product to use and just put the purchase on my credit card.
I want to strangle the fucker at Apple who lied to me about replacing this thing.
DO NOT BUY APPLE.

Dealing with migraines without one's preferred medication
Posted 13 years agoThis is a rant. Fair warning.
So quite some time ago, the company that makes my preferred Migraine medicine: Excedrin Migraine, issued a recall due to some concerns that there were very rare chances that some prescription painkillers had been mixed in with some of the bottles of pills.
I was like, ok whatever, I can get by on my stockpile and if needed, use a non-namebrand substitute at the same dosage for awhile and I'll be fine.
However I'm now on my third bottle of generic "equaline" migraine formula and it just doesn't work as well. I have to take DOUBLE the dosage for any effect on my migraines, even though the active ingredients are exactly the same, and in the same amounts, as Excedrin migraine.
Friends of mine aren't helping either. They're all like "It's just a placebo effect, man, you've been duped into thinking the more expensive stuff works better! But look! It's the same stuff!"
Yea, maybe, but SOMETHING is different about these, because they simply don't combat my migraines as well.
Of course, none of these friends that tell me this have ever suffered from a true, full-out, migraine attack. One where you cannot function because any amount of light causes pain to sear through your head like you had been hit with a hammer. One where leading up to the headache and sometimes during it, you hallucinate "light shows" or "auras" http://tinyurl.com/9m4vht (wikipedia). And on top of it all, you feel like throwing up, and sometimes do.
Migraines SUCK. And anyone who hasn't had a real one CANNOT relate.
And just the other day I discovered my college had a limited supply of Excedrin Migraine in stock in small, expensive, 4-capsule packets. I bought a couple. And OH MY GOD, I had a migraine that day and it vanished mere minutes after taking the medicine, and did not come back.
I had forgotten what it felt like to get rid of one of those headaches so quickly.
I need my Excedrin back on the market already, this recall is pissing me off.
I'd go to a doctor for prescription stuff, but I can't afford a doctor's visit (no insurance).
Ugh.

I find it funny
Posted 13 years agoI've been out in public several times here in Bismarck, ND in my fursuit, at least twice with other fursuiters.
Lots of pictures taken by the general public and lots of people saying things like "This is going on facebook/youtube!"
But yet, I can't for the life of me find any trace of it by googling.
Not that big a deal, I just like to entertain myself and it'd be interesting to see what people are saying about those encounters. :)
I guess I'm just naturally nosy.
The part that scares me though is that this is a small town, sooner or later I have a feeling I'm going to end up on the local news because of my fursuit. That'll be... interesting.

TF2 Sprays
Posted 13 years agoDoes anyone have any snarky/witty/funny furry related sprays for TF2 or just any valve game?
My interweb search skills appear to be lacking as I can't find any good ones.

Panic attacks... so much fun!
Posted 13 years agoYep. Gotta love em.
Fuck college.
EDIT - Hah, just realized I somehow posted two of these journals. That shows how fucked up I was this morning.

Posted 13 years agoRed River Valley Furs - Awesome group!
Posted 13 years agoSo I just got back from Fargo, ND. Spent the weekend hanging out at
drraccoon's place and met a bunch of the
redrivervallyfurs.
I am too tired to try and list everyone, but I will be uploading photos and stuff over the next few days. Thanks again to everyone for a great time. It was like our own little ND mini convention... (PCD included, I'm feeling kinda lonely already, lol).
In any case, I had fun, and can't wait to see everyone again. I think trips to Fargo are going to become a fairly regular thing for me now.
