Out of the Hospital
Posted 2 years agoI'm not dead yet!
But seriously, that was a bit of an eye opener. You go in for one thing, and get several other things you werent expecting. Like me going in because I couldnt breathe, only to find out im in Heart Failure?? I had just about every test you could think of, minus an MRI
Next thing I know is that I apparently have a heart twice the size of a normal one, and my Heart Rate and Blood Pressure are to the moon...
But yeah, 4 days in the hospital was enough for me. Im now on Heart meds probably for the rest of my life, but I figured that was going to happen x.x
So I get to live to see another day and more furry porn!
Thank you to everyone who reached out to me to send me some well wishes ;.; I really wasnt sure if i was just gonna flatline or not, but everything seems to be under control now!
I will leave the last journal up as a reference point though in case anything ever does happen to me out of the blue

My Last Will and Testament

In the event that I do suddenly kick the bucket, then I am giving up all control of my characters and art to
bornvictim someone who has been a friend to me for more than a decade now, and someone who I trust to continue my characters legacy in my place
For all I know I'll be fine and live to see some years to come, but with the way life seems to kick me when I'm down, I just want to put this out there
I would hate to see my characters come to an end, so I would trust Born to keep them alive in my absence

Mental health, Writing, Etc
Posted 8 years agoWell it's been a while since I wrote one of these, and I think it's time I updated people on what's going on with this duck.
As you may have noticed, my writing has been much more abridged than it once was. Truth is, I've gotten such a backlog of art pieces that I all wanted to write something lengthy and decent for; but haven't had the mental capacity to do so. And if for some reason I were to die tomorrow, I would hate to have not at least shared the artwork done by so many talented artists.
I mean, hell, yesterday I uploaded a pic from 2010, that's how many pics I still have laying around x_x the past several years have not been kind to me from a mental illness point of view. I have a couple friends who try and help me with my writing by role playing some of the dialog of characters, but even then I have a hard time translating it into a proper story.
So if you HAVE done art for me, I will EVENTUALLY get around to uploading it, I just need some time.
Part of my issues with writing for a while though was problems with artists. For a while I had stopped commissioning because I had so many bad experiences with paying artists for the work, and then having to fight for it to get completed, or simply get refunded. That KILLED my motivation for the longest time. At one point I almost debated announcing my retirement from writing / commissioning ; BUT things have gotten better! I've gotten back into commissioning new artists again, and I can safely say they've all mostly been good experiences!

Posted 9 years agoHeyo everyone! Its been a long time since i've written a proper journal, and as you can see, uploads arent all that frequent from me. If you have a keen eye, you can probably see that there are a LOT of commissions of mine that have been posted in artists galleries that arent on my page yet, and the truth is I just havent had the time or energy to really write for them. Thats where this journal comes in.
I've been through a LOT of life changes in the past few years, most notabley my career. You see, at the prime of my story writing, I was into software development working at a desk all day. Whenever I wanted to take a little brain break from my work, it was easy to boot up Word and continue writing on a story. However, a little over 3 and a half years ago, I got out of that Industry. The people in the software industry I found to be a bunch of snakes and was very cutthroat. People take credit for your accomplishments, and somehow manage to pass the blame of something they did onto you. So I got out of that negative environment.
So what am I doing now you ask? Well, pretty much something polar opposite to what I was doing before. I drive a garbage truck! For a little over 3 years now Ive been working in Toronto driving for a couple companies. As you can imagine, its not really possible to sit and do some writing on a computer while driving a truck. The hours are also a LOT longer. In the software industry I was usually out the door after an 8 hour day. Driving a truck in Toronto, the shifts are pretty much a minimum 10 hours. I start at 6 and go til whenever the fuck im done xD Some days are shorter, some days longer, all depends how busy we are.
As you can imagine with working so many hours in a day, coming home and having the energy to do ANYTHING isnt really all there, hence the drastic slowdown in uploading pictures with stories. Once in a while I'm able to sit and write something short, but nowhere near the amount that I used to put into a story. It can be a struggle to even get 10 pages into one whereas i used to be able to put in 20-30 no problem
So what does this mean for the future? Well, sad to say a lot of uploads may never get stories like I had once intentionally hoped to do. Some pics may just have to be uploaded with a short little blurb to try and give it SOME life and SOME character development. Because one thing I really do enjoy about commissioning pictures is developing the characters I have over the years to try and give them some life and meaning.
Currently I've been on a MUCH needed vacation for the past week; and only after a week do I feel like I have the energy to do creative things. I still have one week to go before I have to return to Toronto to face the daily grind, so I may take this short time to try and finish up a few stories that have been in the works for probably a couple years now to say they're done. After that though, I make no promises as to whether or not you'll get full complete stories like I once used to put out.
HOWEVER... There is green grass on the other side! A while ago I figured out that my story writing would no longer be what it was, but with a little thinking and a little luck, I am happy to announce that me and missmab will at SOME point be launching a collaborative project together! So dont fear, my stories aren't dead YET. You'll get to find out more later in the year when we know more information about things :3
To all of you who have given me gift art in the past (Especially
teckly) I feel SO BAD for not being able to write for the awesome pictures you had gotten for me, and I feel like a jerk for not being able to write like I was once able to x.x at SOME POINT, i WILL get your pictures uploaded HOPEFULLY with some kind of story to go with it! It may not be full blown like my other stuff, but I will do my best to put in some character development and scenery to the story for the pictures you've gotten for me. Bare with me and give me a little time to work on it! I havent forgotten about your kindness; just life seems to have been kicking my ass over the past few years x.x
Thats it from me! Now you all know whats going on, and hopefully I'll have more pictures uploaded in the next week before I have to go back to work!

I'm working roughly 60 hour weeks doing a VERY physical job. I pretty much only have time for work and sleep xD I havent gotten any writing done in a long time :U Though I'm hoping to change all that soon, as things are starting to look up for me! I should be able to get a vehicle soon to get to and from work, and that should give me a LOT more free time to do writing and the like :3
So yeah, I'm still around, just not able to really do much at the moment xD
Still commissioning pics here and there, just not really able to post em like i want to. You know me, I like to put stories with things. I dont like being one of those commissioners that just posts pics with nothing included in the description @.@

Been gathering a few extra bucks here and there, and itching to get a few pics done, but I have no idea who is open for any commissions xD
I work long hours during the week, and when I see my journals stack up to 200+, I tend to nuke them without looking, so I dont see any commission journals :U

Posted 12 years agoHey Everyone, as you've probably seen, I've been pretty quiet.
Most of that is just me working 50+ hours a week and being too damn tired to do anything else xD But... There's other things going on that are causing me to have some insecurities in my life P: Maybe it's just been me being overtired and overthinking it, but it's been causing me to periodically slip back into depression x.x It's a brutal cycle.
It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago (April 18th) And I'm 26 now xD IM GETTING OLD P: Thank you to everyone who got me a little gift! At some point I'll try and write something up and post it here on FA.

But yeah, between work and depression, I'm trying my best to get some art and stories posted here on FA for your viewing pleasure!

Just been going through a lot of things IRL. I got sucked back into a deep deep depression a while back and left me with little motivation to do anything @.@ I had been applying for jobs left and right with no luck, and with money running out on my credit, I was thinking the worst was going to happen x_X
Thankfully though, I was able to land myself a job in the nick of time, and have just been working hard to get my debts under control :3 Within the next few months, i should find myself in a more balanced financial situation, and overall less mental stress xD
It's been FOREVER since I've written anything x,x I have a ton of pics, both commissions and gifts from people, that have been sitting on my hard drive forever which i wanna get posted some day, just dont know when i'll be able to sit down and give some of these pictures the proper love they deserve x_X
So thats my update, I'm alive and well. Just need time to get my head back into my old writing self xD

i know every once in a while I go through F-list and report several different people taking my characters, but THIS is a new one for me...
Someone has created a Facebook Page for Janice, BUT IT WASNT ME: http://www.facebook.com/jade.sparkle.961
This was done WITHOUT my permission, and is NOT me.

The F-List guys have been GREAT to work with in removing character theft. Facebook on the other hand... Ive made a few reports without any response so far :/ Ive asked the person to remove the images, but who knows how far that will get me

I cleaned up my Skype contacts of about 30 contacts who either:
a) Just havent talked to me AT ALL in months xD
b) I didnt recognize your name at all and dont know who you were o.o
If you want to still talk to me on skype, then TALK to me xD You can send a contact request again, and I'll add you again.
IT WASNT ANYTHING PERSONAL!
My Skype contact list was just getting huge, and i cleaned it up a bit if people hadnt talked to me in forever, or I didnt know who you were xD Like i says, I maybe deleted 30 contacts @_@

Birthday + Mental Health

Thank you to everyone who gave me a birthday wish! and thank you especially to those awesome peoples who got me a little doodle for my birthday <3 It was a pretty good birthday i suppose, mostly quiet :3 Went out and played some Dirty Bingo with a friend, and then played some golf with my dad. Thinking maybe tonight is some Rum and Coke xD Life's been kicking me in the balls for the past few years, so maybe 25 will be the year my life finally turns around and picks up :3
In terms of mental health, Some days im doing better, and others not so much D: Still feeling like i dont wanna get back into IT... Gonna be working on a project to maybe see about a business loan <.<
In terms of writing and stuff, still having hard times getting the motivation to write x_X I have SO MANY stories to do, and in fact some i thought i would do stories for i may have to skip just because my backlog is getting so huge now x.x I apologize to everyone who has given me a piece of gift art and i havent uploaded it yet D: I want to do stories, but my brain just hasnt allowed me to do so x_X I may upload some old gifts given to me later, as awesome people who gave me gifts should be recognized :3

Just a quick update on life. Im moved into a place of my own now, and i can safely say i feel loads better with stress instantly going away :3 Now i just need to get on the job front and get my life in gear again :3 Shouldnt take me too long to find work, and i hope i find it soon xD
My Birfdai is April 18th D: I turn 25 this year... YAY CHEAP CAR INSURANCE 83
Also, I will be holding a Stream for the Raffle of people who spread the word trying to find me a place to live on Monday April 9th at around 7pm :3

Furnal Equinox Report!
Posted 13 years agoNow that I slept for 15 hours solid in order to catch up on the sleep i missed this weekend, OMG FE :D
I had a blast! The thing i love the most about cons is all the awesome people that go :D It's nice to just be able to sit at a table with people you've never met, and have a nice conversation, play games, and overall just have fun! Got to play a few rounds of Killer Bunnies, which i kept getting royally SCREWED on, but had fun none the less xD
It was also great to meet artists i had never met before, like
anyare and 
chibbums and of course old friends like 
strype and 
cooper :3 Also got to meet 
magenta and 
asphyxialemieux for the first time ever, and both were really awesome people :3 I got a HUGE haul of art this time around xD Went a little over my budget, but thats okay xD At a con like FE, it's easier to get sketches than at a place like AC where everyone is always closed xD Even managed to get a pair of drawings from both 
maxblackrabbit and 
gnaw
Overall was a really good time x3 Got to hang out a lot with
caltroplay in the zoo, and she's a fun person to hang out with :3 Gots to see some other awesome peeps as well, such as 
streaksskunk and 
daniskunk x3 And then of course having Strype there... If you've never met Strype IRL, He's basically the person who will 'go there' when you WANT to go there, but you're too afraid to 'go there' out loud xD and then of course Lisky... I can now see how Lisky earned the knickname 'Slutpuppy' xD It fits him well xD
Probably wont be doing AC this year, but will more than likely be able to head on down to Condition in London ON this year for sure :3 Look forward to seeing you guys there! <3<3<3
