I LIVE!!! (Also, time for a sale!)
Posted 8 years agoThat's right, folks! I emerge from the dark abyss that is otherwise known as "being a lazy bastard" and I'm just itching to draw your characters!
SO, in light of the holidays, I'm knocking 15% off all of my regular commission prices! How delightful
Here's a quick break-down for those who would rather not do the math themselves:
Sketches start at $8.50 instead of $10, with additional characters being $2.55 each instead of $3 each.
Lineart starts at $12.75 instead of $15, with additional characters being $2.55 instead of $3, just like above.
Flat color pictures start at $17 instead of $20, with additional characters at $4.25 instead of $5 each.
Greyscale/shaded pictures range from $21.25 to $42.50, instead of $25 to $50! Remember, these are my best (and most favourite) works!
Digital art is still priced identically to traditional, so you can still use that discount on it!
And, in case you forgot, my list of Yes's and No's can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7215986/
Other than that, I don't really have much to say. Very few things have changed in the time I've been idle, except I got a new job (with abysmal pay) and sister and nephew came to visit for a week over the Thanksgiving holiday. Other than that, things have been dreadfully boring.... which is where you guys come in! Give me some stuff to doodle, help me get back to using my noodle!
(Also, there's been some heavy behind-the-scenes shit going down lately. I won't get into detail, but let's just say I've been bleeding money for months and without your help it's going to be a very meagre, miserable Christmas this year)

ACTUAL ACCURATE COMMISSION INFO - UPDATED!
Posted 10 years agoPRICES! The most important bit!
SKETCH: $10 for the first character, +$3 for each additional character.
LINEART: $15. Inked all nice and clean, but uncoloured. As with a sketch, add $3 for each additional character.
FLAT COLOUR: $20. Inked, then filled in with professional-grade coloured pencil. Owing to the amount of material used, additional characters are $5 each.
SIMPLE-SHADED COLOUR (NEW!): $25, +$5 for each additional character.
GREYSCALE: $35-50. Price depends on complexity of the picture. Highly-detailed shading in graphite or charcoal. You get nothing short of my best with this.
DIGITAL ART: Same as above. Sketches start at $10, flat-colour at $20, simple-shaded colour at $25, and greyscale at $35. Takes a little more time to complete than traditional, but not by much.
RATINGS!:
G/PG! I don't draw it as often as I used to, but I still like it. Especially cute and/or silly things!
PG-13! Just like PG, I don't draw it too often as of late, but I still enjoy doing so.
R/NC-17! Do you like nudity? I'm a bit of a fan myself, as my gallery can testify. This is what I draw the most often. What can I say? I appreciate the beauty of the female body in its purest form. Suggestive (non-explicit) naughtiness is pretty common, too :-P
XXX: Yes, I even draw this from time to time. There may only be a few pics like this in my gallery, but I have a fair number stashed away in my personal folders.
WHAT I WILL DRAW:
Cute things!
Silly things!
Pretty things!
Handsome things!
Sexy things!
Nekkid things!
Naughty things!
Ladies!
Gentlemen!
Tomboys! They're a special kind of hot.
Ladygents? (Never drawn femboys before, but I'm game to try)
Intersex! (Chix with dix? I'll give it a shot! Guys with ladybits? Whatever floats your boat)
Young'uns! (G/PG ONLY)
Those punk teenagers! (G — PG-13 ONLY)
Squishy/soft folk! (Within reason)
Non-fetishized pregnancy!
Most 'tame' fetishes/kinks! If it's not listed below, and you're not sure if I'll draw it or not, just send a PM and ask me!
Violence.... this varies on a per-picture basis. Fistfights? Sure. Sword/knife/gun fights? Not a problem. People getting their heads blown open? NO (see "gore" below). Your best bet is to just ask me via PM.
WHAT I WILL NOT DRAW:
Gross fetishes (scat, watersports, vore, unbirthing, rimming, etc)
Young'uns and punk teenagers in adult situations! It's a no-no here anyway, but I just don't feel comfortable drawing it in the first place. Pictures of adults doing adult things are a LOT easier to explain away to anyone (friends, family, coworkers, law enforcement, etc) who might accidentally stumble upon my private works than pictures of children doing adult things. Trust me, it's a headache I'd really rather avoid if at all possible.
Macro/micro (I suck at drawing things to scale)
Hyper anything! Look, we can all agree that big boobies are wonderful things, but there IS such a thing as too big! Same thing with guys' junk. If it's not even remotely realistic, I won't do it. I pride myself on keeping things as realistic as animal-people can get.
Obesity/fat furs. Just as with hyper, I just won't do excessively-overweight characters. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE a nice soft woman. They're so cuddly and awesome! But keep it within reason, folks. Anne is about the limit of how big I will go (and she is GORGEOUS).
Gore. That ranks right up there with "gross fetishes" above. Disembowelment, death, dismemberment, and the like are no-nos.
Oviposition/egg-laying. That's another no. Just no.
Humans and human-like characters (elves, centaurs, non-furry fairies/nymphs, etc). I SUCK at drawing human faces.
Horses (and other equids). Much like humans, I cannot make horse faces look even remotely right. Trust me, it's not a pretty picture.
Taurs/hexapedal characters: Too many limbs, man. That's more than I can handle at once.
Inflation of ANY kind.
Transformation. Sorry folks, it's just not my cup of tea.
My Little Pony and anything in that style. Just no.
That's all I can think of at the moment, but do bear in mind that these lists are subject to change occasionally. Again, if you're not sure about something, just ask me and I'll clear it right up.
Well, I'm pretty sure that's about all I have to say on the subject of commissions, at least for now. As I've said several times already, if you have ANY questions at all whatsoever, send me a note/PM and I will get back to you as fast as humanly possible!
Thanks for reading! I love you all!

OPEN FOR BUSINESS, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
Posted 10 years agoAlright, my lovely watchers. It's high time that I finally open up for commissions. I mean, I've always been open, but now it is "official" in that I finally have a PayPal account set up so I can take payment directly with real-world money instead of through dA points (pfft, remember those?) or Linden dollars on Second Life. Hooray for getting off my ass!
So you may be wondering, "what kinds of commissions are you open for, exactly?"
Well, the short answer is: "everything".
The long answer is "everything that I can do with the materials at hand".
You see, I just recently moved cross-country AGAIN and most of my best supplies are in storage for the time being. However, I do have my trusty sketchbook, several #2 pencils, some charcoal pencils, a few old tortillons, a pack of good-quality coloured pencils, and my good inking pens with me here. So I guess, until I get settled in properly, it's really only feasible for me to do sketches, lineart, flat-colour, and shaded monochrome/greyscale pictures like this one.
That said, however, I am eager to receive any and all commissions that fall into those categories! I've been looking to pick up on my art output (I'm starting to get lazy again) and this is one way to make sure I stay active. I just love when I get an opportunity to draw others' characters. They're all so cute and/or pretty!
Curious as to what I will or will not draw? I'll have some sort of list set up soon, but in the mean time just shoot me a PM and ask. Chances are, as long as it isn't something gross involving certain... bodily functions, I'm okay with drawing it.
I hope to hear back from you guys soon!

Okay, that's all for now. I'll add more later.
EDIT: Okay, so Generation II has swelled to a lot more than I originally thought. These critters of mine sure do love to procreate ;). The more I think about it, the more I realise that I have more characters than I can even begin to know what to do with. As it is, this journal is longer than most memes and takes up a LOT of space already. And I know the list would just keep getting bigger and bigger if I accounted for Generation III and higher, most of which is just a foggy ideal anyway. As I was writing this I made up a lot of things on-the-fly that were never really given any thought before, such as Jason's mum being a Spanish woman that Martin met while on leave. Generation III is still so early in development that listing it here or even in another journal would require a lot more on-the-fly thinking, which translates into several hours of coming up with names, nationalities, languages, relationships, birth dates (DEAR GOD I HATE THAT PART), etc. So I've decided that I just won't do it. At least not for a good, long time. My cast is becoming oversaturated and until I find a place for everybody I'm going to stop coming up with new ones. Thus, I leave this journal as "complete" as it will ever get. I want to thank anybody that took the time to read this for doing so. It took a lot of time and effort to type everything out, and I would like to know that it was good for SOMEthing.
At least I know my imagination is as prolific as my creations!

Did I say a month? Haha, funny story...
Posted 11 years agoDon't you just love it when things take an unexpected turn? Never mind the fact that you're starting to get settled down. It's time to move yet AGAIN!
I won't bore you with another long-winded journal, so I'll keep things relatively brief and to-the-point. When Mister Money-Making House Dictator finally could not take another day at his workplace, he packed everything up and took his dependents with him to Sin City (where the rest of the family lived), he immediately began the search for a new job, not only locally but in a few other places as well. A few weeks pass and he secures a job out-of-town. Specifically, about 2200 miles out-of-town. So now, instead of staying here in this lovely little place (which I am actually okay with, despite my desire to return to Texas), I will instead be living in South Carolina.
Honestly I'm just tired of moving so much. I can hardly wait until the day that I am able to strike out on my own, but the key to that is money, something I am once more sorely lacking. As much as I love my family, I'm really getting sick of being dragged all over the country and playing Musical Houses. Really the only positive things I can think of about this move are my closeness to the coast (albeit the hurricane-prone Atlantic) and the relatively high population of furs in the Carolinas (yet still no cons in my area ¬_¬ ).
So yeah, I'm extending this hiatus indefinitely, until I am for-sure settled in and not going anywhere else for a while. With luck it'll be my last one for a long time.

Okay, I'm gonna just call it in now.
Posted 11 years agoLike I mentioned in my last journal, I'm moving again, very soon. I had a small grace period to finish any works-in-progress and try to upload them, but now I'm rapidly running out of time for the big move. Not only must I pack everything, but I also have a lot of cleaning to do as well, along with a day or so of loading before I hit the road. While I don't leave until next Friday or Saturday, there is still much to be done in that brief period of time and, unfortunately, art is not in the agenda. I just don't have time for it any more, and for that reason I hereby "officially" announce my hiatus. I'll be packing away most of my art supplies today, but I will be leaving a sketchbook, pens and mechanical pencils, and a small pack of coloured pencils out so I have something to do to kill the very very long days on the road (up to 14 hours of driving per day). Otherwise I might very well perish from sheer boredom. Canadialand is only so exciting from the inside of a moving vehicle, after all.
Anyway, the plus-side of this particular hiatus is that it won't be nearly as long as the last. I'm thinking maybe three weeks at the most. I'll see you then!

Well, Alaska, it's been fun. (Hiatus coming soon)
Posted 11 years agoBut now it's time to move on. Due to a number of circumstances (I'll not go into detail here), my time here in the coldest state is coming to a premature end. I'll be moving again at the end of the month, to somewhere with a climate I'm more familiar with (very hot and very dry). It's a little saddening, because I was just starting to get used to this place now that winter is over and the absolutely GORGEOUS summer is fast approaching
I'll be travelling by car this time, to help with loading and unloading, which means I get to go through Canada :D I need to start packing my stuff up again this week if I'm to get everything ready in time. I don't know exactly when I'll be packing up my computer and art stuff, but I do know that they will be the last things to go, and I'll put up another journal announcing the official start of the new hiatus. In the meantime, however, I'll try to upload a few of the things I've recently completed.
On the bright side, though, after the move I'll be close enough to Texas to finally make that trip down there to get the stuff out of storage, which means I'll finally have my scanner back
Anyway, that just about wraps up this journal. Now if you'll excuse me, it's time to pick my sister up from school.

Tibby's perspective on anthro anatomy.
Posted 11 years agoA few hours ago,
rickgriffin posted this journal about his take on the anatomy of anthropomorphic or furry characters. He covered multiple topics throughout the journal and replies to comments, and has some very solid points that I tend to agree with. Since there was only so much I could put into a comment before it became a burden to look at and took up so much page space, I decided to condense what I could in the comment and create this journal to expand upon it.
Whenever I draw an anthro or furry character, I always try to keep a moderate balance between human and animal traits, although generally I do lean a bit more on the human side. Faces, of course, are mostly animal, but I add just the right amount of human to allow for expression to be recognisable and easily readable. On the matter of lips, I find myself divided. Like many people here, I don't like seeing human lips on a furry face. It's just unsettling. That said, however, on species of animal that still technically have "lips" of some sort (like my dog, whose bottom "lip" is rather visible due to a slight overbite), if one handles them properly they can look nice and add just the right amount of allure. Artists like Strype, Ipoke, and even Rick himself have all shown examples of drawing lips the right way (The Captain's Cigars, for example. I love that one). Other animal characteristics should also make themselves known, especially those that a particular species is known for. Otters, naturally, have kickass tails. The various marsupial species have recognisable pouches, Fennec foxes have large ears, rodents' incisors never stop growing, etc.
And finally, we get to the topic most favoured on this site— bits and boobies. In my personal and most humble opinion, mammaries should only exist on mammals. I don't exactly go for the "multiple sets" thing, though. You won't ever find me drawing a furry with six breasts. That is just nightmare fuel. I might consider some leeway on marsupial teats obscured by a pouch, but the general outer rack is limited to two. Birds and reptiles don't nurse, so there's really no reason to give them anything there. What would the do with them, anyway? They'd only get in the way. And when it comes to mammals, for the love of Pasta I hate seeing them ridiculously-oversized. I've had the misfortune of seeing women with cans the size of cantaloupes, and it is at most painful to watch them move around. Keep their chests realistically-sized and your girls will love you for it. Now I do have one character who is rather "gifted" in that department, but she also has a figure to support it. Sure, she runs an 'E' at least, but she's also six feet tall and in great shape (toned but not scary macho buff). Her back is more than strong enough to easily carry them around without pain or discomfort. She still can't lie on her stomach, though.
As for 'bits', well that's another divided issue. I know some people are all for dudes matching their real-world counterparts in the junk department, and I know some other people are practically elitist in their insistence that things should be kept humanoid down there. I personally don't care much in either direction, but it makes sense to lean on the animal-like side in situations in which it would be appropriate. If your character is easily recognised as his real-world species from the waist-up and the knees-down, why not in the space between? In the end it all boils down to personal preference on the part of the artist. To each his own.
Ladies, are another matter entirely. I'm not even going to be balanced on this one. I very much prefer ladies to look like a human down there, mainly because I've had the displeasure of knowing what a lot of species look like in real-life and it ain't pretty. Not to mention "specialised" va-jay-jays look wonky at best on anthropomorphic characters. I know, I just gave a bunch of solid reasoning for guy parts, but those just don't apply here. At least male genitals more or less have the same basic structure in all species, but female ones less so. Call me what you will, but I just don't like the concept.
So anyway, that's my take on the matter. Thanks for reading, and if you have anything to opine I implore you do so below. I like hearing (or in this case reading) your thoughts on matters like this!

A little (likely unnecessary) clarification on Tibby :3
Posted 11 years agoHokay guys, I know only a small handful of you will pretend to care about this, but in light of recent and upcoming events I feel like I should just get it out there anyway, in case I somehow miraculously become less of a shadow in the future.
I just wanted to give you a little it of clarification on my primary character, Tiberius (or Tibby :P). Upon his initial creation, he was originally only supposed to be my persona, just a representative of myself. As such, most of his design aspects were carried over directly from my then-15-year-old self. Tiberius Darkewulf and I were one and the same.
However, as the years have passed, Tibby has developed more and more into his own character. While I still use him as a persona, his character has deviated from myself and nowadays it seems like we're almost two different people entirely. It is true that he will always retain a great similarity to me, but every day it becomes more apparent that we're evolving in different directions.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that Tibby as he is now is no longer an accurate representation of how I now am. I'm not entirely sure what that means just yet, and I don't know if I should keep using him as a persona or if I should forge a new character to succeed him in that position. But for now, and until I decide one way or another, it will have to suffice that there are now two versions or variations of Tiberius. One who exists in the canon of my little in-progress fictional universe and is for all intents and purposes his own distinct character, having no real connection to me, and a metaverse Tibby that only exists when I need to portray myself in a furry manner, with no relation to the canon in-universe character. Canon Tibby will continue to live his own life outside of my own, and will evolve as necessary along the way. It is THIS Tibby that (spoiler alert) ends up together with Eve, starts a family, and all that other jazz that normal people do in these kinds of stories.
In short, there are now two Tibbies: canon and non-canon. Non-Canon Tibby is basically me, while Canon Tibby is not. Sorry for the Wall-O-Text™.

LATE-NIGHT BIRTHDAY ART DUMP!!!!!!!!! (FINALLY)
Posted 11 years agoI finally got off my ass and set this laptop up to recognise my camera and HOO BOY I've got a lot to show you. And unlike previous art dumps, these will not be consolidated into one multi-picture submission but instead uploaded individually for you to see in all of their full-sized glory.
Among the pictures I made are a few Christmas-themed ones, and even though it's over a month late I don't care. Gotta get them up here regardless of what time of year it is.
And so, without further ado, I shall get to the uploading. Brace yourselves.

OAKELLY DOKELLY GUYS, IT'S UPDATE TIME
Posted 11 years agoHOKAY well first off I'd like to elaborate on the hiatus situation. Yes, I know I said I'd probably be back in late November/early December. Yes, I know it's now halfway through January, and I still have not posted anything. BUT, here is my reason as to WHY: Simply put, I haven't uploaded anything because I can't upload anything.
When I moved to Alaska and packed away my computer, I kinda forgot to pack my TV as well, which I also use as a computer monitor. As a result, it is now sitting in a storage unit in Texas, along with half of my other crap including my scanner. In all of my brilliance that was one of the things that I packed away first but never loaded into the trailer of stuff to take directly to AK. BUT, back to my point about the TV. When Christmas morning rolled around I spotted a big box with my name on it and unwrapped, to my surprise, a brand-new, higher-quality, bigger TV. Jackpot, right? Well almost. It's like getting the three "BAR"s rather than the three sevens. While this new TV is bigger, higher-resolution, and can directly play back most media formats via USB, the ONE thing it does not have is any form of PC input. Or at least, none that I can make use of even with an adapter, since my computer only has a VGA port (it's old like that). TL,DR: No monitor, no computer. No computer, no art uploads.
Now I HAVE been rather active otherwise on FA, mainly because I have regular access and permission to use a family member's laptop (the very thing I'm using right now). If you're wondering at this point why I don't just use my camera and upload art with this thing, it's because this computer has no SD card slot and is not set up to recognise my camera via USB. And while I could dig around for the software disc, I'm sure said relative would not appreciate me installing a bunch of software on their laptop. That leaves only one other option, which I dare not consider: the dinky, low-res, crappy quality camera on my mobile. Yikes. Bear with me folks, I'm hoping to get either a monitor or a (mini) projector in a few days.
Why would I be hoping for that? Why, because IT'S GONNA BE MY FREAKING BIRTHDAY IN A FEW DAYS, THAT'S WHY
Yus indeedy folks, as of this writing (at 3 in the morning because sleep is for the weak), my birthday is in precisely EIGHT DAYS. And it's gonna be awesome... or at least it was supposed to be awesome until this surprise move to Alaska dragged me away from all of my friends and everything I knew in Texas and now that I'm here i don't know anybody and that sucks BUT I'LL TRY NOT TO LET THAT RUIN IT.
Also, what I'm REALLY wanting and hoping to get for my birthday is a ticket (or tickets) to see ThePianoGuys in concert, as they will be here in Anchorage only on February 8th, for two shows only. If you know who ThePianoGuys are, then you know how big a deal this is. If you do not know them, shame on you. Go educate yourself. Then come back here and appreciate how big a deal this is :P
Anyway, that just about wraps up this journal for now. I might go back later once I've had some rest and try to simplify it for those lazy bastards that can't handle a nice hearty serving of words. But be on the lookout in case I do get a chance to upload anything, because there's gonna be a truckload coming in when it happens.
But for now, I bid you all farewell, for it is off to Dreamland to catch up on some very much-needed sleep.
TIBBY-LAD, AWAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
