The Pledge of Allegiance, something to ponder...
General | Posted 13 years agoI try not to get political. I mean, yes I'm a Democratic leaning Independent. Simply because we live in a "Democracy" and I believe each of us should think "Independently".
But here is something to really ponder... The USA is a "democratic republic", a country that is both a republic and a democracy.
With that in mind, when was the last time you pledged allegiance to the flag of this nation? Do you remember the words? Think back now, and really listen to those words... Now consider this...
The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931). It was originally published in The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in any country.
In its original form it read:
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In 1923, the words, "the Flag of the United States of America" were added. At this time it read:
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Bellamy's daughter objected to this alteration. Today it reads:
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
I'm sure many of use remember the later version. And most of us probably remember reciting it in school every morning. Did you notice there is no mention of "Democracy"? And isn't it interesting that now days, the pledge of allegiance is no longer spoken in school? Supposedly because of the term "One nation under god", and this conflicts with the separation of church and state.
Perhaps I am wrong, but I think it's due for a rewording. And it should once again be recited in school. I think it should read...

This to consider...
General | Posted 13 years agoWhen coming up with story ideas and plots...
It is very important to consider the production end of things. We know some of us can imagine some incredible stories. But to make them all possible, can be very difficult.
Bits and pieces from different story concepts will always find their way into current running productions. When ever funding, casting and technology make it possible.
For example, Operation Deliverance, came along at just the right time. We were already filming an hour long episode and had cast some new people that were very talented. So when the idea came along, it was easy to take some of the new talent and put them into a new production. It only required minor set construction. Since episode one used primarily the Terok Nor sets that already existed. The Runabout interior was the only major set that was actually required to be built. Some smaller sets that were not complete sets also had to be made but were very simple in design. Such as the Sudrian bridge, corridors, transporter room, sickbay and engineering. The shuttle bay set was never actually built and was simply a few pictures of a completed model.
Dark Academy, is another example of this style of production method. It is an idea that has been in consideration for a long time. But now we have several more sets and models that have been built due to Vanishing Point, that we can use. As well as the Terok Nor sets that will be modified slightly for use as Empok Nor sets. :) An the Terok Nor (DS9) model will be altered slightly to become the new Empok Nor station. The only large obstacle in the shows path, is casting. As many of us know, the countries financial condition hinders casting people who live far away. With gas prices on the rise and jobs cutting hours. It is not as easy as it once was to cast potential talent.
So, with that in mind... Dark Academy WILL become a reality in the coming 1-2years. But it will have a minimal cast. My goal is to have a maximum of 4 characters (3 cadets and 1 instructor).

My two cents on the matter...
General | Posted 13 years agoOk, so... If women can't have access to contraception. Then men shouldn't have access to Viagra!
If a woman has to have an invasive transvaginal ultrasound before SHE is allowed to choose whether or not to terminate the life-form inside HER own body. An has to be subjected to viewing a recorded video of an abortion taking place.
Then a man should have to see his doctor and explain to him why HE wants Viagra and explain why HE is choosing to have sex! The doctor should be required to suggest the man abstain from ALL sex unless it is for reproductive purposes. He should also be subjected to viewing a recorded video of starving/dying/orphaned children from all over the world!
I realize that this is just my opinion and not everyone feels the same way. I'm not by any means suggesting that abortions are a good thing either.
I'm simply saying, that people should think long and hard before having sex! There are millions of children in the world already that both men and women are not taking care of! People need not add to this global problem!
Sex for the sake of having sex is a fun activity. Let's face it, everyone does it! But people need to have the opportunity/ability/commonsense to prevent the conception of a life-form they are not willing or prepared to take care of!!!
Terminating a life after the fact is NOT fair to anyone! But preventing that life, from ever becoming a possibility in the first place is something that everyone should have the right to make a choice about.
In my opinion... Making a baby, is no different than contracting a sexually transmitted disease. Putting on a condom or taking a birth control bill. Both prevent you from having something you DON'T WANT! And are NOT willing or NOT wanting to deal with the rest of your life!!!
We are always encouraged to "wrap it up", as a means of PREVENTION! Contraceptives are the SAME THING!

Dark Frontier: Vanishing Point, UPDATE
General | Posted 14 years agoDark Frontier: Vanishing Point, UPDATE: Filming will be in the first quarter of 2012. I'm expecting filming to take about 3 months total. With 6-8 months of editing/production work after that. With the usual 2-3 weeks of music creation time per episode. Each episode will be released probably about 2 months or so apart from each other. Depending on how fast I can get it edited and scored. Expect to see a final casting call to appear before/during filming as will need to cast Extras and Day Players to fill some speaking roles. Voice-Over Actors will be contacted as soon as scripts are finalized and sent out... It's going to be great to be getting back to filming. I am really looking forward to this. I know it's been a rough year and it's time we got back to Dark Frontier :D
In need of a twink!
General | Posted 14 years agoIn need of a twink! Yes, you read that correctly... Well, I've hit a snag... Looks like the actor I had in mind for the Orion Slave Boy is out. So we'll have to find someone else who will do it. Because I definitely need to have a gay kissing/make-out scene in the show. The gay audience is our largest audience. So we have to make this happen. If you know of anyone who might be interested. Please let me know. They need to be a twink type guy and HOT! ;) Thanks.
Filming is in Lake City FL and will be during the first part of the year. The role of the Orion Slave Boy will require kissing/making-out with another male actor. The characters makeup will consist of being painted totally green (the parts of the body that are showing at least) And wearing very revealing clothing. i.e. Thong/Speedo/Short-shorts
The role is a free role. Meaning the actor doesn't get paid. But they will receive a copy of the 5 part mini-series on DVD and their name will be in the credits. Also, each episode of the show will most likely be featured on Afterelton.com Which means, they will be seen by tens of thousands of people!!!

General | Posted 14 years ago(Mini-Series Update/Info)
I can tell you, that when the show resumes production... The mini-series will be once again, a 5 part series. (Since that was easiest to produce for us.) It will take place some time after the ISS Sudrian returned home. In which it will be refitted and made to look like a cross-generation vessel. Using both TOS and TNG style components. (The model is already completed and the main bridge is 99% done.) The series will feature some of the same cast from the first mini-series as well as adding some new characters.
I can say without a doubt, that Dr. Aron will be back and so will Subcommander, er, Captain Asha'l. I'm hoping that Major Reon will also join us again. Unfortunately, Ensign Shaw will not be back. As she is now living out of state. So will need to add another female character somewhere, to prevent the show from being a total sausage fest. LOL
There are also plans to bring in technology in the series, that was shown once or twice in canon trek and then never mentioned again. Like the Holographic Communication System for the bridge.
There will also be a Gay themed story-line. One which will hopefully be well received by the audience. And yes, there will be kissing! Just want to get that out there. I have received lots of feedback on the topic of having gay characters. Some positive, and some negative. I listened to both sides and after reviewing statistical data on who actually watched the first mini-series back when we introduced gay characters. The numbers spoke loud and clear. In fact, one scene alone was enough to bump our numbers way up into the thousands. You might remember the scene (where Major Reon and his lover are talking to each other over subspace).
The mini-series will also feature new uniforms for the crew. The background characters however, will still be in the DS9 style. While the main cast will be in TNG style. I know this might sound crazy and maybe confusing. But the TNG uniforms are better made and have much more color. Which is what we want. Just think of it as ST:Generations in reverse. LOL Eventually we will phase out the DS9 outfits as time goes on.

The Producers of Dark Frontier
To cast/crew/fans of Dark Frontier “The Original Series”
I want to thank everyone for their support of Dark Frontier. From it's creation in the Star Trek universe over 2yrs ago. To it's new and original platform of today. We couldn't have done it without the support of our fans and cast. Now for a little update...
Bi-Monthly Video Newsletter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1XgzZ0RYzk
Filming:
We are endeavoring to meet our commitment to begin filming in late Nov. 2010. This however, does not mean that full on filming will begin at that time. Much like last time. There was a wide range of filming taking place at the beginning of filming. From background characters to leads and supporting. But it is our intention to begin filming in some form, by the last week of November.
Casting:
David Pass (Casting Director) has posted several open casting positions on casting call websites as of 9/30/10. The sites upon which you can find these posting are... https://www.starnow.com www.nowcasting.com There is also a link to a few of the open positions on our official website https://www.triple-fictionproductions.net
These roles are PAID roles and range from Lead, Support and Recurring. The roles are in reference to Eight (8) episodes. Pay for these roles is based on a 3 tier system. With payment being divided amongst all of those in the system. Money from DVD sales is the soul/primary means for which we will be paying our cast. In our current economical state in this country and around the world. This is a huge concern of ours. 5Yrs ago we could have asked $20 for a DVD and had no problem getting it. But as the worlds financial situation has declined. So has the market for movies. Yes there is still a desire to see great films and series. But people are more inclined to pay less or nothing to watch a show. Rather than pay top dollar. Even if that money is going toward further productions and helping people achieve their goal of becoming actors/actresses.
Production/Prequel:
For those who haven't already heard. We will be producing a prequel episode/movie which will launch Dark Frontier “The Original Series”. The prequel will introduce the viewers to the 'new' universe. In which The Terran Confederacy and it's protectorates are the dominate power in the galaxy. Their enemy, is known only as The Forces of Draconus Yurikina. A mysterious mechanized race of alien beings. The prequel will take place several years in the past, from the current time-line of episode 01. The location is set on the planet Mecron Prime. An industrialized world with a population of over 10 Billion. The story-line will draw the viewer directly into the battle between The Forces of Draconus Yurikina and the people of Mecron Prime. It is sure to be a bloody, gory, ruthless conflict. One which will require intervention by The Terran Confederacy. The prequel is considered part of the eight (8) episode run of season one.
Other News:
I would like to encourage you to check out Star Trek: Specter “Specter of the past”. It is an animated production which I lent a hand in and some of our voice actors will be starring in. http://stexpanded.wikia.com/wiki/St.....er_of_the_Past
We will also be in the up coming issue of Trekkie Central Magazine “Ships of the line 2”. The issue will feature some of the ships from Dark Frontier and Dark Frontier: Operation Deliverance.

We are also scheduled to do an interview for another upcoming issue of the magazine as well. Featuring the mirror universe.
I'd also like to encourage you to join our forums http://darkfrontier.netforums.us/ it's FREE and a great way to show your support for the show. There you can chat with the producers, actors and other fans.

Series Update
General | Posted 15 years ago*Spoiler* In our new series, Dark Frontier: The Original Series... There will actually be a divorced gay couple with an adopted son. We haven't settled on the sons age yet. He'll at least be a teenager, that you can be assured of. This will give us a chance to show the dynamics of married/divorced gay couples.
There will also be a gay doctor... Dr. Tovenaar, played by David Pass. (Because we all know what a good doctor he is. ROFL)
There will also be a gay operations/communications officer. Tyler Kwan, played by JB Pafford. (Who is better know for his role as Dr. Aron, in Dark Frontier: Operation Deliverance)
So a total of 4 gay characters. Possibly 5, depending on the son's story development.
There will also be a nude female bisexual character. Who's outfit will consist of a black leather harness and nipple pasties. "Make peace with it people, because it's happening!"
There will also be 3 furry character's... The couple Nero and Kitara. An Toma, who is Nero's best friend. So you can expect some yiffing going on at some point. If you don't know what yiffing is, than I suggest you google it. LOL Or ask a member of the Furry Fandom. All furies know what it is, and they are some of the most loyal of all fans.
I hope this random spoiler/update is well received. As always, comments and questions are welcome.

Dark Frontier Episode 2 & Dark Frontier: Operation Deliverance Episode 1, have been revised and are now available. The revisions include corrections to the credits and video codec quality adjustments.
Due to errors which were entirely my fault, several peoples names were either left out or misspelled in the credits of the episodes. As a result I have revised the effected episodes and appologize whole heartedly for the mistakes. I'm sorry it has taken me this long to make the corrections but they have finally been made.
The download versions are now in HD720dp Divx quality.
