Posted 14 years agoThis Saturday, September 17th, will be a demonic raccoon's birthday! 8D
Some people don't like their birthdays are get depressed around them, but not me! I always enjoy the idea of my birthday, even if I don't normally have some big party, I usually find some way to have fun, last year I got to go out to dinner with friends! 83
Anyway, if any of you guys out there remember this Saturday, feel free to stop by my FA and wish me a good day, I'm sure any Happy Birthday Wishes will put a big smile on my demoncoonie face! 8D

Kashyyyk, Naboo, and Oa
Posted 14 years agoI've been a busy demoncoon the past week, on Tuesday I went to Disneyland before the summer blackout season started, and on Saturday I went to see the new Green Lantern movie, both with my good friend
phoenixaudubon
So I have one of those California Select passes that only work on weekdays, but come last Tuesday, it was the last day I could use it for until sometime in late August, due to the summer blackout. I figured it would be fun to go, I'd done to Disneyland the month beforehand with Cerberus, 2, Toast, and Phoenix, but at the time the new Star Tours thing was being hyped up, but wasn't allowing for general admission. Anyway, Phoenix and I get there in the evening, and after a bit of initial shock at the 2 hour wait time for the line of Star Tours, we walk around the park before we work up our nerves and stand in line until 10 minutes before the park closed for the day (the park closes at Midnight this time of year, FYI)!
Turns out its in 3-D now, which is cool, and they replaced the nameless droid with C3PO for some reason, but otherwise it really is a nicely revamped version of the original Star Tours ride. The rides hyped up because there's supposedly 52 different scenarios that can be randomly chosen, so you're not supposed to get repeats (unless you ride it like lots and lots of times, I guess). As the journal title hints at, we ended up going to the Wookie planet, and then the Jar Jar world . . . all in all it was pretty fun, they added some neat new features and overall I found it enjoyable. Was it worth 2 hours in line? . . . no, no it wasn't. Sorry, but the ride was neat, and even as just an occasional Star Wars fan it was cool seeing the new worlds, but it was not worth waiting in that long line at the end of the night for 2 hours for some 10 minute ride. Still, when the hype calms down, I'd definitely go on it again!
I also went to see the Green Lantern movie this weekend, I had a couple of free Regal passes I got last Christmas, and figured now was as good a time to use them as any. Also, did anyone else know that even with free passes, you still have to pay a surcharge for 3-D? I sure didn't!
Despite the negative reviews I've been seeing, I personally enjoyed the movie greatly, I've been getting into the Green Lantern mythos ever since Darkest Night (if you've seen my gallery, you'll know I'm a Red Lantern fan), and it was awesome seeing the heroes and villains on screen! No spoilers, but I loved the last 5 minutes of the movie (after the movie was over), definite sequel hook and I'll say now I'd totally be up to seeing a sequel of this movie. Yeah, it was kind of overly flashy, I guess, but you know what? I don't care what the critics or Rotten Tomatoes thinks, I enjoyed Green Lantern and fully recommend it to anyone who enjoys the comics or cartoons. Then again, I had free passes, maybe my opinion would be different if I had to pay the full $16.50 per ticket . . . movie ticket prices, WTF?

Just how 'Furry' are you in real life?
Posted 14 years agoI won't mention much about my job, besides the fact that it occasionally has me involved with businesses, both owners and employees, but something strange occurred while working with one of these businesses. The person I was dealing with was named "Canis Lupus", seriously, I had to doublecheck but that was what was entered for his name in representing his business. (for those of you who don't know, Canis Lupus means Gray Wolf) Before you think "maybe that's his real name" or "maybe he's a Native American", I'll also mention I could also see his email address, which included the word "yiff" in it.
This was someone who had the business he worked for in his information, so I have to assume his business was in some way work related, so it makes me wonder, just how into the fandom are some people? Are there other people who go that far? Who go by their fursona at work or in professional situations? I know I don't ask to be called DarkMask at work, although it is known I 'like' raccoons (but I assume people just think its the same way people like koalas or elephants) and I carry a raccoon plush keychain in my pocket, but that's about it.
So I wonder, is this normal? Are other people more lax about keeping their fursona and real life separate than I would have assumed?

Demoncoon's Secret Cameo in Housepets?
Posted 14 years agoSo today I discovered the webcomic "Housepets", although I'll admit I've been aware of it for awhile now, and occasionally may have looked at a comic, it wasn't until today that I actually sat down and started reading it. Suffice it to say, today was a pretty uneventful Saturday so I ended up going through the entire archive already and have added the homepage to my browser's favorites. 83
However, while reading I came across one particular page and realized a strike resemblance between something in the background and my own demonic raccoon fursona:
http://www.housepetscomic.com/2010/.....r-ice-cream-2/
Its a demoncoon Popsicle! Its even got my colorings and my demonic red eyes! 8O
. . . ok, I know the chances of
rickgriffin knowing who my character is, deciding to put him in his comic, and keeping it a secret from me is pretty unlikely . . . but still . . . the resemblance is quite eerie! >8D

Definition of a "Fuzzass"
Posted 14 years agoFuzzass
[fuhz-as]
~noun
1.) Any anthropomorphic creature who under normal circumstances would not have fur, or to be more specific, a furry posterior, i.e.: A furry dragon.
DarkMask Change your AIM message ya fuzzass!
Jaitsu FINE JEEZ
Jaitsu Also where is everyone getting "Fuzzass" from
DarkMask well you are furry right? So your ass is fuzzy when normally it shouldn't be, therefore, you is a fuzzass
Jaitsu True >.=.>
2.) Any anthropomorphic creature with fur who is, by species, undefinable. Something normally cute and fuzzy but is not part of a specific genus, and therefore by default can be labeled thus.
DarkMask Fuzzass!
[Koh] *shake-a shake-a shake-a*
3.) A term that can be used for any any anthropomorphic creature with fur in place of their name, species, or genus; normally used in a playful derogatory way.
DarkMask You are a fuzzass!
DarkMask 83
Immelmann actually it is currently made of rubber
DarkMask Oh . . .
I am not much into football, so during my boring Superbowl Sunday I decided to define a term I've heard and used now and again.
Dammit Immy you ruined my last definition! D8

Further Confusion 2011 Review
Posted 14 years agoSo I just got back from Further Confusion '11 and I have to admit I had an incredible time! I didn't attend many of the panels, but I had a lot of fun just hanging out in the Dealer's Den and ended up chatting with a lot of really cool artists. Some of the awesome artists who let me bother them at FC:
(in no particular order)
Narse Great guy, he wasn't doing sketches, but he was a pleasure to hang out with!
Winddragon I've spoken to him online for awhile, was great to finally meet him in person
Spelunker_Sal and
Dreamous were incredible! So friendly, they live nearby to me too, and said we should hang out more! So cool! 8D
Gideon is always great to see, its neat to hear the stuff he's working on
And of course lots more! I don't want to drone too much, but it was seriously a fantastic convention, and I'm looking forward to next year when FC will be at the San Jose Convention Center! Do I have any regrets from this Further Confusion? . . . honestly? No, not really. Does that mean that there was nothing I wouldn't have changed? No, there was certainly some people, one person in particular, I wish I could have spent more time with. But it wasn't anything I had any control over, so I don't feel I should let myself regret something I didn't have the ability to change, if anything, it just means I'll have to try harder next opportunity! 8D
Also, anyone know what Further Confusion '12's theme is going to be yet?
By the way, first day of convention
Arbok_X sends me a shout with an icon as a thank you for providing him the idea for PokéWalker Animated icons! They really are pretty cool, and he's selling the first batch at a discounted price of $3.00 each (normally $5.00 each). Definitely go and check it out here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2016122/

Why not just make a ROYGBIV TV?
Posted 14 years agoSo apparantly SHARP has made a new AQUOS LCD TV, and its a big deal because they are changing the TV color scheme from the tried and true RGB, using pixels in Red, Green, and Blue, and instead are creating a Hi-Definition TV that uses RGBY, adding Yellow pixels to the TV for brighter, more vibrant colors and a clearer, crisper 3-D effect. But this makes me personally wonder . . . ok, so Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow pixels in theory will make a TV have a much better picture . . . so why don't they just make a ROYGBIV TV? Wouldn't a TV that has pixels in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet have a super vibrant picture then? I mean it sounds logical to me, but realistically, is it impossible to put that many pixels into a screen? Or would it not generate as crisp a picture as you'd think having more different pixels? I guess I am just curious.
So I find myself in need of a room for Further Confusion!
Posted 14 years agoI wasn't sure if I was going to try and go or not, but based on certain circumstances I have decided I would like to attend, however that means I need to find a room for the convention! I know its a little late in the game, being a month away, but does anyone have any room for the convention they would like to sell to me? I can pay, of course, and I don't mind floor space, I can always get an air mattress if I need to!
Here's hoping someone won't mind having a demonic raccoon in their room for the convention! Get in touch with me if you've got the space! 83

Birthday Demoncoon!
Posted 15 years agoHuh . . . so this is what it is like to post a journal . . .
Coming up this month is a demonic ringtail's unholy birthday! Its this September 17th, although I don't think I will be able to do anything too crazy, no blowing up major cities or corrupting the living, but I hope to find some way to have some fun nonetheless! 8D
If anyone reads this and remembers, make sure you send me a shout wishing me a Happy Birthday! I'd just like to see a bunch of people wish me the day, will make a demoncoon smile! 83
