General | Posted 11 years agoSO i had this journal all typed up a few nights ago on my phone and then accidentally lost it all. ERP.
I wanted to start off by thanking everyone in my last journal for all the support, i wanted to go through and thank everyone individually but it would require a lot of the same thing being said multiple times and i didn't want a copy-paste scenario cause that seems lazy and douchey xD
SO. THANK YOU GUYS! for all the support about my grandpa.
It really wasn't as bad for me as i was afraid it'd be for grandma, but she seemed to be handling it okay when she called me to wish me a happy birthday the night before last.
The night after i found out i had some issues with drawing but that had mostly to do with the fact that i had started doing a background with no real plan in mind to how it was going to look and i ended up pretty miffed at it all night xD;
which brings me to the 3rd thing, that i wanted to let everyone know about.
My fiance and I are going to be working on a comic, I'll be doing a good chunk of the artwork for it, but for now i'll only be doing art for it on Tuesdays. (that's the day i was working on the background) Rae has a Patreon started, and it can be found here: https://www.patreon.com/MutatioRequiem
Any and all support would be greatly appreciated! with that in mind, my goal is to maybe use that patreon as a sort of support system to help me get owed art done quicker (while still being able to make some kind of money for rent @-@)
Anyways! Check it out, payments only come out per week of images posted, so if I don't finish anything for it that week then, hey cool, you saved money xD but anyways, so that's a thing, thanks a ton for looking guys, and again, thanks for the continued support!
will be posting some stuff soon, just finishing up the last of my warmups that i took over FA and then i'll be posting them up here. :3

I'm still not sure how to handle it.
I mean, we expected it, he was in failing health. but still, i'm kind of in a state of numb shock? idk.
We'll see if i get emotionally distraught or not.
He was always talking about god and going to meet him, so i hope that's what he's going to do now.
I'll try not to slack off, but i just wanted to throw that out there in case i do :T

I have one sitting in my folders that i need to resell to pay back a friend who had to cancel, and then I have the 2 collaboration ideas, that'd be with

Lotix
2 of those will be super rare YCH's depending on what you guys like (Rare as in, i'm willing to do straight up pronz as long as i'm just doing the sketch process and the other two will actually make it look good LOL)

I didn't WANT to open commissions yet, but i want to GUARANTEE i have my rent and internet covered. bare minimum.
i NEED the internet to work and i NEED to pay rent.
hopefully i'll have what i need left over for PGE and my phone bill (which isn't too bad, its like, $70 between Rae and I)

General | Posted 11 years agosince i'm too poor to afford anything on my own other than rent; I decided to do one of these things. I don't expect any of it to be done, cause frankly, i don't expect people to have money, what with the cons and family/friends Christmas/Holiday stuff.
But i'll be looking around for art things i can do for other people, though i can't guarantee i will be able to because i'll be busy trying to finish all my commission sketches this month (bare minimum) and a secret santa i owe already xD

-Step 1; Your wishlist

1. Art of my Characters. Cause lets face it. Unless I buy the art, i don't get much art of my babies and they really need some attention. Good news is, i have characters for everyones tastes (Anthro, Feral, human, Kemi that type thing). That's the easiest thing on my wishlist. (also if you need more refs of any of the characters, please feel free to ask, a lot of my characters have original art that isn't posted on Charahub cause i want to do references for them x-x) SFW only, don't mind pinup styles as long as nothings actually showing xD
2. The only other thing i REALLY REALLY REALLY want for Christmas this year? I want to finish my Desktop so i can play GW2 with my fiance and my friends after i'm done working again... I need a way to relax when i'm done with art, and GW2 always helped with that when i could play it. the GOOD news on this? I'm going to be opening apps for teachers soon, so knowing whose interested would be pretty nice xD. I'll make an official opening journal when i finish setting the site up, but yis, i'd love some input.
7. haha, if you want i guess you could get me/ make me some adopts. I'm pretty open to adopts from most people, not too picky. Ferals i normally turn into RP characters though, just as a heads up (so they get a kemi form) I like animals with like spots and stripes T-T tigers and leopard, or super exotic markings. Also check out Lotix 's adopts cause damn they're cute! (SHAMELESS PLUGGING!)
8. ICONS! I need more of those, never end up finishing the ones i start for myself, never have money to purchase anything fancy. so yes, icons! can be of Vern, Dark or Nakaisio (Winter too)

Someone tried to push my Kiki around and get not just ONE free sketch out of her, but SEVEN fucking commissions. First they just wanted the one and afterwards they were like, yey this is perf, can you do 7 more and i'll pay you next friday IN FULL for these 8 $70 commissions.
SO APPARENTLY I WAS WRONG. this guy wanted 10 free sketches before he paid... :B anyways, that just needed to be updated cause i'm a wrong pants.
Fishy fucking shit.
So just to be safe i told Kiki, no, politely tell this person that you need to make sure everything is good for you, you rely on this income to eat. So how it will work is this way. He will pay you for the first sketch, then you will do the rest of the sketches and finish the first commission, that way we know this bitch is being honest and wants this art, and isn't just out to fucking scam her.

So just to be safe i told Kiki, no, politely tell this person that you need to make sure everything is good for you, you rely on this income to eat. So how it will work is this way. He will pay you for the first sketch, then you will do the rest of the sketches and finish the first commission, that way we know this bitch is being honest and wants this art, and isn't just out to fucking scam her.

General | Posted 11 years agosooo, if anyone's wondering about the lack of updates in the past 3 days its cause Saturday, i took a break since it has been weeks since i've done so and my fiance was getting a little depressed because I haven't had time to really do a lot with em.
That being said, Rae was really super miserable depressed on Sunday too and asked me to take another personal so i went ahead and did that.
Sunday night (technically monday morning) Rae spilled Cranberry juice all over their laptop and that's where the 'fun' started. So i didn't really work on commissions for 2 days, and then yesterday i let Rae borrow my laptop so they could try and fix their desktop, then i finished a sketchpage i've owed Taryncrimson for a while now, so i did finish something, just nothing digital and it still needs to be scanned so i can post it.
So yeah! for anyone wondering, that's what's been up. I'm going to try and finish up a few things tonight now that i have my computer back, and if Rae needs this computer again, i'll just hop onto my old laptop to work. no biggy.
(also, the laptop still functions for the most part but Rae is not saving anything to it and we needed to download stuff yesterday which was why we needed to use mine. for now the keyboard is pretty much fried and we're using my usb keyboard to deal with it til we get the desktop up and running)

General | Posted 11 years agoYesterday i wasn't around much because I was out and about, we were supposed to go to the fair but instead we went to shenanigans and Gamestop cause the Fair is over and we didn't make it.
so i took yesterday off, and decided to relax a little bit before buckling down and shooting through some more commissions.
TODAY, i will be cleaning like crazy to make my apartment -spotless- before inspection tomorrow (i know i know but 3 of us working on 1 or 2 rooms each will get done pretty fast)
and So i'm focusing on that today/tonight. If i get anything done? it'll be a warm-up i owe
which I've gotten sketched out, i just need to buckle in and color/shade it.
that being said, if you're wondering how your commissions are going? they're on a very brief pause while i clean this place up, then once I'm done with that and juggling the kitten back and forth from my moms house, i should be right back to work. (hopefully by tomorrow)
so yeah, just wanted to let people know i may be a little silent here for a little bit, and now you know why.

General | Posted 11 years agosince i've been struggling pretty awfully financially, and i've actually really improved as of late, i will be upping my prices a bit. This will also give me more time and drive to fix any anatomy mistakes i feel i've made on peoples art. I will make every effort to make corrections where i feel they need to be.
I've made edits via my commissions tab here on FA so if you want to check it out it'll give you a better idea of what prices will be.
Halloween icons will be $5 more u_u a lot of work goes into them, and the shading style i use takes a little bit and tends to lean towards a more realistic feel.
I'll be working hard to finish what i have on my plate still (i got quite a few icons inked and colored earlier, and i blew out a pretty nasty refsheet sketch (which needs edits)
regardless, my hand has been hurting after all these hours of working and i figure if i'm working for 8+ hours on a single piece of art? i need a little bit more, because there's no way i can keep up with all this art and stay financially stable.
I'll also be working on a TOS page for people to read before they commission me, as i've had a few things drive me a little batty during the course of me not having a TOS page.
go figure?
