A quick message to announce that I'll be closing commissions for some time. I don't know how much yet.

Recently I noticed I was stagnating with my art, I don't know what direction to take, and tend to repeat a routine I'm not satisfied with. To make it short, I hate what I draw. Not the thematics, just the overall shape. I feel like I spend too much time on something that didn't worth it in the end. Which means I have to work, study and repeat over and over.

And that's something I hardly do when I have a comm to work on, worse I neglect it.

So I came with the conclusion that I should put commissions on hold to train hard in my corner of the internet, and come back when I'll be better enough. I could post my studies here. :)

In addition, the course I was trying to attend to on side in october is bullshitting me with paperwork mess. I was supposed to attend to it at the end of the month but the registrations aren't even open yet. Imagine quitting a job for that and ending up with nothing like a fool.

So I finish up the big comm I'm owed and after that, I'll remain closed until I reach that skill I've been seeking for 6 years now. I'll probably need 6 more years, maybe more. But I still wish to reach an mainstream industry level at some point.

I won't take commission this month. There's a few things I have to get done first. I'll do an opening in February. See you then. :)

Yo... yeah I'm still alive. I've been low on communication this year and to be fair. I've been low on art, low on commissions (6 comms for the whole year), well low on everything. This year wasn't good. At all.

In retrospective, after 3 years, I noticed a loss of motivation in art. A big feeling of "I've been doing that for nothing" lingering. The projects I've been working on didn't engage people much, while we were working for free, so no money and no visibility, the best combo for motivation. I had less and less commissioners by the years, though for that part, people have been in a shitty place in general during the last 5 years so I'll just grind art and wait for the storm to pass. The only perspective here to is to get better until I'm good enough.

Yet with that shitty spiral, my job taking a toll on me, this year hit hard on my brain, hard to the point I felt the need to talk to a psy and sort out the mess in my head.

And at the same time, at the very end of the year, I managed to make significant progress in anatomy, which made me recover a bit of motivation and hope. It depends on how I'll manage my focus, but I could finally design some characters properly.

Also, 2025 will be a year of drastic changes for me

After working 3 years in cattering, I'm quitting my current job. I recovered enough funds to plan further and start a retraining in computer and network repair. I grew to love working on PC since I built my own and I think it will be more fullfilling than cleaning idiotic middle schooler's dishes, especially when they get even more desctructive and stupidly undisciplined as the years go by.

So yeah, tech repair and maintenance as a new planned job, it is likely to be a fulltime one this time. So I'll have to think my art routine differently.

I trully hope things will go smoothly for 2025. But at this time, I'm just sure of nothing. And weirdly peaceful about that.

Yo, I'm finally back from the FBL. So according to the plan I reopen my commissions.
As an update I tried to give the price sheet a bit of clarity. I nuked the lineart commission type, since with time I realise I don't master lineart well enough and since it's not much asked neither. I also decreased the prices of the tradi a little bit, not much but it's still that already.

Hey there, I'm out of my cave because I have to communicate important points regarding commissions for October.

I'm going to the Furry Black Light from october 29th to november 3rd. We are a little trio of friends and I'm making the doorsign for us. And by doorsign I mean I'm doing a fully painted A3 illustration, and I intend to make something decent.

So I don't know if I will be available for commissions this month. It's likely I will be but I don't want to make a promise I can't keep. If I am, I'll only take sketch commissions.

During the FBL, I won't be available at all. So if you send me a mail for a commission or anything, you'll only get a reply after the 3rd Nov.

Commissions will be fully open on the 4th Nov when I come back from FBL.

Well since I'm not the productive kind of person, I think the format of the AMA will remain the most classical possible. Sorry about that. I compiled here the questions I got on both profiles, for ou to read. All the people who asked their question have been very decent, I thank you deeply for that.


-What species do you prefer to draw ?

I would say mainly dragons, felines, canids, otters and lizards, but I'm open to the rest. I would love to tackle
into birds and bird-like species at some point. :)


-Curious how old you were when you developed a passion for art and got into drawing / painting?

When I was teenager, I had a curiosity for drawing, but the moment when I started to invest myself into art,
I was 21-22 and was on my last year of master degree. I'm almost 27 now.


-What games do you play and how much time do you have for them? :)

I'm a huge fan of fromsoft games and souls-like (Mortal Shell, Outward). I also play some roguelite
(Gunfire reborn and Crab Champions) and FPS (halo, GTFO,...)


-Favorite dragon from a work of media?

Grigori from Dragon's Dogma, that boi has a flow, damn. His speech on top of the stronghold always brings me chill.
And Zubeia from dragon prince comes next, for design and the wise but kind attitude.


-Have you ever drawn sheep?

Actually... never :/ it could worth a try though.


-which OCs would you want to ride into battle? And why?

Soylong, because as a draconid she's the only one with a reasonable size (3m high against 15m for dragons like
Cirrus Felis or Syralis) and I wouldn't stab myself while riding her. Have you seen Cirrus, he's all spikes
he only fits for Vlad Tepes' victims.



-I have to ask, what pieces of media or artists influenced your love for dragons and dragon-like creatures?
Were there any particular things that you felt helped you develop your own art style? Lastly,
what inspired you to explore making your dragons more mammalian in how they reproduce?


Angels with scaly wings has been a starter, but when I tried to take it to another level, Isvoc's work has been
quite fundamental in my change of direction at some point. And for my art style, it's still developing. believe it
or not, I'm still far from a level we could qualify of decent (professionally speaking I mean) so until now, I'd
rather say style is still to be completed.

As for the last question, I fell on artworks that depicted live bearing dragons, and the concept caught my attention.
When I designed Soylong at first, I was making her as a "NSFW/meme" type of character, and live bearing instead of
laying eggs, but with time, I started to incorporate her to my worldbuilding, since the more I elaborated on what
draconids (Drakes, Wyverns and Dagonoids) were in my lore, the more she fit and actually had her place in the story
I had in mind.

Just an update. The surgery went well. I'm recovering right now. I registered on the artfight, hoping I Can Do a few attacks during july. Take care peeps

Alright, I'm opening for June, I'll use the same formula as for may (character commissions/ No complex background) to make sure I get things done before July hits.

For July there will be a full month hiatus with commissions for medical reasons. Since last december I've been diagnosed with inguinal hernia and the surgery is planned for July, the recovery for that kind of surgery takes a month where you can't lift anything too heavy, which means I gonna spend my recovery with family where I won't have access to my working set up.

I'll see if I can find a way to participate to this year's artfight, no promises though.
