The Good:
Got a pretty nice job, which was sweet.
Health insurance is pretty awesome.
My friends, still great, supportive and most of all, patient people.
Made plenty of new friends, which was always sweet.
Cut my dreads off since those things were hard to tend to and I'm tryin' to grow a mohawk.
The Bad:
Lost some friends.
Bills are a hard fact of life.
Less free time to write.
Cut my dreads off in the winter which was stupid
The New:
Gonna be learning spanish.
Want to make more time for hobbies.
Can't wait to finally move away from home.

Sappy Holiday Journal!
Posted 13 years agoThis is the time of year that normally makes me get all moody and misty eyed, so I figured why not write a journal about it!
Boiled down, this year as been...Intresting, not as fantastic as it could have been but then again, I didn't get hit by a truck, and if I haven't been hit by a truck, I call it a good year. Morbid (and bad) humor aside, I'm thankful for a lot despite the hardships, my friends being the main reason that was able to overcome them. I believe strongly in 'a burden shared his half as heavy' and this year in particular I have had a lot of burdens to share but my friends have been there to help me carry shoulder them with a smile.
I guess what I wanted to say, along with sharing a bit of my peronal life, was thanks, I won't go about naming names but they know who they are...And they more then likely will comment.

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Darokko is pretty short, only 5'6" but his ears tend to make him look a little taller then he really is. His build would be around average, with 'effective' muscle around his arms and legs. (Effective muscle is my term for muscles that have grown strong from work, not working out.)
2. How old is he?

3. How attractive is this character physically?
On a scale of one to ten? Seven or eight.
4. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
I suppose dark, not many scars, just a few from childhood
5. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
He doesn't have...Hair really, but his fur is black and off-white, and the texture is a bit coarse.
6. What color are his eyes?
Red-Orange
7. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
He is currently unemployed, so...Yeees?
8. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
All three, and even a few that you wouldn't expect. The roo likes underwear, or lack thereof.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
I imagine his voice being deeper then you would think from a guy of his height.

English with a little Australian slang mixed in.
3. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
He suppresses his slang when in polite company, which is rare.
Mental and Emotional
1. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He is very quick on his feet, I doesn't like surprises so he tries to expect them.
2. What kind of education has the character had?
College graduate.
3. What are his areas of expertise?
Design and fashion surprisingly, he doesn't talk about the later much...
4. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Extrovert.
5. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy?
I would say pretty easy going, akin to the stereotypical 'surfer' mentality , but quick to anger when provoked.
6. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Its a toss up, he can either love or hate meeting new people, it all depends their first impression and his gut feeling from that first impression.
7. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Flight more often then not, he dislikes conflict.
8. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
None, unless you count a slight Napoleon complex.
9. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Oh wow, I would suppose, losing his virginity to a girlfriend he hated.

Being alone, utter silence and crickets...Fuck those things.
11. What are his hopes or aspirations?
He doesn't think too far ahead, all he wants now it to get a job.

That he secretly likes taking long bathes...And that he can breath fire.

He gets along better with his father than his mother but both relationships are more distant then the should be, which leads to guilt on both sides.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Yes, he has four sisters. I haven't fleshed out the relationships between him and them quite yet.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
This also isn't thought out just yet.
4. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Xander Ten and Jeral Reinard. He met Xander in high school and Jer from a Xander.
5. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
People seem to make friends with him easily, but he is a little slow from his end.
6. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
He is spoken for.
7. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Hmmm, that's a tough one, personality first and foremost, nothing is more off a turn of than a dick....Wait.
8. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
He has though about adopting, but the idea of having his own biological child scares him.
9. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Yes, that bastard dingo...

He is bisexual, A 5 on the Kinsey scale.
11. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
Its very important to him, but conversely he tends to separate the love from sex reflexively. He can and has had sex with someone he dislikes just because he could.
12. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Turn-ons are partners who are bigger/taller then him, oral sex of all kinds, having his tail played with or used in some sexual way, but mostly he like getting his partners off, nothing turns him on then that watching his partner climax and knowing he caused it. Turn-offs are much broader, lazy partners would be the major one.

1. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Not really, he was never one for faith.
2. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He is mainly curious about them.

He only holds prejudices against those that used their belief to justify their hate.

From a writing stand point, SF really seems like they tailored things for writers, unlike FA which makes me save in a weird format I can't remember and have to check each and every time I want a post to display for me, though its not the sites fault if I can't remember. 2.) These will be 5-6page works and I would like to keep it that way, but if you have a feeling your story will be longer then this, I am open to negotiating a new price for it.
3.) You can secure a slot by emailing me at Darokko[@]Hotmail.com saying you want one.
4.) After your spot is saved, I shall email back asking what you would like your story to be about and where you can pay. I can do anything ranging from G to XXX, most sexual orientations (I just have a real problem with lesbian, so keep that in mind) and with as many characters as you like, so if you want an orgy, don't be afraid to ask! If the subject matter you want me to write about can not be written in 5 to 6 pages I will have to turn it down or request it be made simpler.
5.) There are a few things I won't write about and they are: Herms (This one is only slightly negotiable), Scat/WS, Vomit, Gore, Hard Rape/NC, Foot Fetish, Cub/Babyfur, Hard BDSM and Castration/Nullification.

Anyone have any advice when you're learning to draw?
Posted 14 years agoTitle pretty much speaks for itself. I've been having a bit of trouble lately (Working of body structure now) and I was wondering if anyone had any tips that they can share to make things go a bit smoother?
Also, does anyone want to actually see the little bit of work I have done? Its not impressive in the least but I guess it's better then nothing.

Posted 14 years agoYes folks, I'll be adding drawing to my (very small) repertoire of skills. I've always wanted to learn how to draw but never had the drive for it, until now anyway. I'm fed up with saying 'I wish I could draw' now I'm finally going to do something about it. Now just because I want to draw doesn't mean I'm going to give up writing, it just means I might do things like illustrations or things like that, something to enhance my work of choice not distract from.
And if I do become a "popufur" (God forbid, I really don't want to be) I'm not going to forget the people that liked my work before I knew how to draw, thanks guys, I really do appreciated it.

I've always had a strange, nearly perverse, interest in one of the fandom's biggest component, the 'fursona.' When I first fell into the warm and awkwardly sticky puddle that is the furry fandom, I found myself enamored with the idea of fursonas.
"Something that represents you but isn't really you? That's kinda weird." thought the younger and much chubbier me, but like a train wreak, I couldn't pull myself away from the idea. A few weeks later I set to work scouring the furry websites both clean and not-so-clean....Mostly not-so-clean, for ideas I could run with. Soon after that my fursona, Darokko, was born, an average everyday crocodile. Even sooner after that I scraped the idea...Quickly and quietly changing him to a dragon.
A while later of lurking around the edges of the fandom I decided to actually start doing a little writing, (seeing as I can't draw to save a small Indian child from a painful death) and in doing my ...Lets call it "research" I learned another interesting facet of the fursona.
"Wait...They don't have to be exactly like their owner?...Hooooly and shit." This simple realization changed a lot for me, it gave understanding of the concept of one person having multiple fursona's and having a fursona that was entirely different from you.
So time to get to the real matter at hand, I wanted to ask how do my dear watchers view fursonae, do you think they are necessary for the fandom to run (fairly) smoothly, or perhaps you feel that we would be better off without them and the misleading image they can project, or maybe you think that they are something that sweaty nerds living in maternal basements invented so the can have some form of attention and everyone caught on. ((No I don't think all furries are sweaty nerds...Okay maybe a little...))
