#3 Help some auctions have less than a day left on them
Posted 12 years agoHi guys. Halfway through the month, and I'm just at a quarter of the goal. I will admit, I'm scared. But the kindness of close friends, people I already owe things to (you know who you are, you precious, beautiful people), and even strangers...it's really something. It means the world to me, and I know that sounds cheesy. I've cried -a lot- lately. Some of it stunned and happy, a lot of it afraid and sad. If I hit this goal, and it magically goes over (hey I can dream) I'm going to do something really special with it and help someone else. And I'm intending to buy dinner or drinks for every artist that's helping me out at the next con we both attend. I think I'll be better off running a bar out of my hotel room, amiright? I am trying to stay positive. Furries, y'all are pretty great.

Posted 12 years agoWell... hi guys. I've not been in a good place emotionally, mentally, or financially for a long time, and pride has kept me from really telling anyone about it. But just before Christmas, I received paperwork that my home is now under foreclosure. Some of you have already been helping out when I launched my campaign on tumblr last night, and right now (at time of posting) there are some amazing people in the stream that Nyil is hosting and arting for donations. Those of you that know me and deal with me on a regular basis know that I would normally rather go without than complain and ask for help, and I'm a lot more inclined to open my home and wallet than be willing to accept charity. That said...I need help. I'm ashamed and embarrassed, but pride will not keep a roof over my head.
Moving along...been talking to the bank (and looking into getting myself an attorney) and their lawyer, and if I can come up with $5,000 USD by the end of January, I'll be out of the hole and okay. **Current Dollars Donated Counter: $2112.78/$5,000 USD as of 6:30 pm cst 1/19/14**

GODDAMIT PEKIN. Dammit dammit dammit the longer I read the comment section for gawker (god I don't want to even look at the youtube comments) the more I feel sick to my stomach. My hometown is officially going to go back to being the butt of every redneck joke that isn't Duck Dynasty. Yes, we were the hq for the kkk once upon a time. Yes, for over 20 years, there was an incredibly racist sign hanging on the bridge that said "Blacks out by sundown", taken down in 1978. Yes, until 1981 (midway through the schoolyear) the high school mascot was "The Chink" because some idjit thought that if we drilled all the way through the planet, you'd pop out on the other side in China. Obviously, the town overall doesn't play with a full deck. When people ask me where I'm from, I have to say Peoria. Because any time I have -ever- told anyone who's not the same pasty white skin tone as I am that I'm from Pekin, they look shocked and suddenly concerned. I actually had a boyfriend refuse to meet my parents because he thought he'd get lynched.
Do I intend to do something entertaining during my wedding? Maybe. I'm a lot more likely to do fun things during the reception, like pop suit heads and paws & tails on to walk into the reception hall, where there aren't curse words blaring from speakers when small children are present. Do I believe that brides have every right to do whatever they want during their ceremonies? Pretty much. But if you're going to have a man (or woman) of the cloth officiating, have a little friggin respect and dignity, neh?
Man...I remember when Kendra and I were little and her mom used to throw huge bitchfits about the evils of men and never get married blah blah blah WOW. Just wow.

They're the same age, they're just about identical, and they were dropped at the same shelter. 2 of Gracie's other sisters are at the shelter in Crystal Lake. Both of those are high kill shelters and it's driving me up the *(&^*(&^&!^# WALL that I can't go pick them up and just love them to pieces and find them happy safe homes with my friends. Buffy's adoption fee is something around $180, but Nancy & Betty (the 2 in Crystal Lake) are $300 a piece. I need lottery winnings lol.

I've got a LOT of plus size women's clothes and other assorted things I want to get rid of and until I have a few paychecks under my belt and new Ahhhhwesome roommate Katie moves in (not a furry but lmao her little brother is) is here for a few months, $$ is gonna stick a little tight.
I'm thinking I'll be willing to trade for certain items, like art or such.
