My hunt for another job has no timetable, so I'll just have to live with it and keep pushing. That being said, I will open my other job (commissions) back up pretty soon, and a TOS (Terms of Service) will follow not long after.

They are still closed for the time being. I'm in the middle of a job search after I got certified, they will likely reopen after I get the job and get used to it. Of course, art is my second job, but I always want backup, with a more consistent stream of income, after seeing all the hurdles these companies and such have thrown in the way of posting art and getting paid for it, this is why I'm so glad places like FA still exist. I'm still planning on reopening commissions once I get acquainted with the job, but not in the meantime. Btw, my Patreon is still open, and I still post art there, so you can still subscribe if you want until I reopen commissions.

Today, this Caralcon turns 33! I'm just at IndyFurCon, relaxing this weekend.

Like many others, I was really surprised to hear about his passing. He was the owner of FurAffinity, who I first stumbled upon in the mid-2000s with his Digimon pics. He made FA what it is today, and will be missed. I am aware he was a polarizing figure among the community, but he was always friendly to me whenever we chatted, and the negative aspects should be pushed aside now. Thanks to him, we Furries have a megasite for our art, that we go back to when other options aren't there. I hope the site is in good hands for the future, otherwise you can find me on BlueSky, DeviantArt. or my own sites. And we should move forward, continue to have fun, and do what we enjoy. That's what he wants. There's even proof, on his Twitter X page on an old post of his. My condolences go out to him and his family.

Passed my IT exam today!!

I'll be stepping away for at least several weeks, as my exam is right around the corner, and will probably return mid August. I might post what I have already made, though.

Sorry if I haven't uploaded many pics as of late, I'm finishing my class this week and will be studying for the certification exam later this year. I'm not necessarily having an art block, I just have to put it aside for awhile. I've still made a bunch of pics and will continue to, and will post them whenever I can.

Because of what happened with Gumroad the other day, I'm no longer uploading them there. Instead, they'll probably be on my Patreon, on the middle/high tier $2.50/5. No problem with raising your pledge for one month and then lowering it or unsubscribing, as it's similar to buying a pack on its own.

Closed for the time being. Going back to school and I really need to concentrate and pass this certification.

Yeah, this is a little late, but here's an overview of my year in art last year.

The first full year I opened commissions (I did in late 2022), several were made. For both fans who went crazy over my stuff, and ones who knew I can improve and try other methods.
3 in total. Learning Blender, so that should be a plus. Commission world is a totally different animal, as I'm finding out, as I was getting slammed with too many requests, my real life got too busy to fulfill them all, and felt like I should be compensated, so when people asked me what happened to the pics they requested that I don't have the resources for, I just told them they have to be commissioned now, and that shut them up.

If you follow me on DA, you'll notice I listed myself as a Professional. Even though I don't make that much money off of this, it shakes away some request spammers, and also changes my approach. This is my second job nowadays. During this inflation, we need all that we can get.

We also saw the return of several classic OCs of mine as RSRA drivers. Some like Lilly and Shelly, definitely need some work on their faces and mouths, as they can kinda have weird Mileena grins at times, lol. Yoshi favorites Shigeaki and Mokiva return as Dighnos, and of course, legendary Ansatsuken fighter Cecilia the Wolf.

2023 also saw growth in my RSRA lore, setting up relationships, rivalries, and alliances within the fictional sim racing league, and preparing for a potential full-on webcomic in the near future. I know sim racing (and auto racing in general) is not a popular subject for furries or geek culture in general, but it's the only one I know how to work, and enjoy. I love making races I have in-game spilling into comic storylines between the drivers behind these fictional computers, their personalities, backgrounds, and fictitious "franchises" coming out each time.

I'll be going back to school this February, and will likely close commissions before then, until the class is over in a few months at minimum, but we all know I'm not done yet.

Another thing I noticed that probably holds true for art in general as long as you put it out there, is that there's always going to be some artist you want to be like, and somebody who wants to be like you, as I've seen several good artists say that lately about their own works, and sometimes I feel like that as well. As well as others amazed at what I make, and I'm amazed at what they make even though they might not think much of it.

And lastly, I apologize to everybody I messaged on DA, FA, and Discord if they wanted to commission me. I wasn't sure if that's how it works, and thank you for being nice enough to not report me, as I read it's against the rules.

2024 is looking to be a good year for this Bird. Hope everybody is alright!
