And I apologize for the FA journal and Twitter spam regarding these streams. I have yet to be able to nail a consistent time for these yet due to intentionally having these not long after the (far more popular) stream of a friend.

1- Thanks to furries, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to watch The Lion King comfortably ever again.
2- I just don't "get" Dragonforce.
3- I've played pretty much every beat em up (the good, the bad, and the licensed) that's currently emulated. It's such a static genre, and yet I love it anyway.
4- I love furry cosplay pics (as in drawings where someone's fursona is dressed up as someone else), but don't have the nerve or drive to actually cosplay IRL.
5- Despite the fact that it's gotten so half-assed, and that most of the jokes don't really fit with the plot, not to mention that Seth McFarlane is directly responsible for the cancellation of King of the Hill...I still like Family Guy. ._.
6- I have so many ideas I'd love to put on paper/sprite/compose, but when I actually get down and try to create something, I get frustrated as hell before long.
7- I can name every single robot master from Mega Man 1-9, except for those from Megaman and Bass and the Game Boy games.
8- Unless it's through some kind of storm, I'm one of those weirdos who actually enjoys driving.
9- Lately, I've been seriously obsessed with Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) in both anime and manga form. I honestly don't know why, in terms of plot depth it's only two steps above Dragonball Z.
10- Not sure if I'm bisexual or what. I don't like the idea of sex with a guy IRL, and yet I've found a fair amount of male fursonas "cute".
11- I rarely turn on any "current" radio station anymore, just the local classic rock, 80s, and talk news stations.
12- I've never really been big on competitive gaming, at least not outside of stuff with friends. Yes, Brawl is fun online, but I don't jump on it too often.
13- When I was a kid, I really wanted to be on Nickelodeon Guts, despite being 3 or 4 years too young for it at the time.
14- On a similar note, I'd love to be on a game show someday.
15- Cooked, sliced onions and tomatoes are good, but for some reason I can't stand them raw.
16- I like ketchup on hamburgers and mustard on hot dogs, but not vice versa.
17- Despite using better grammar and spelling than most people who surf the web, I still tend to feel like an idiot compared to a good chunk of the people I encounter on IRC.

NES. Got it at the age of the three, a move I'm sure my parents came to regret.

6: PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, SNES, Genesis, Wii. To be fair, I've held onto most of these for a very long time.

While gameplay is more important than planes involved, I feel 2D has aged better.

I used to be. Plateaued at 8 foot difficulty, then I discovered Pop'N Music and never looked back.

Mario. While Mario has always been pretty flat in terms of personality, and there's been plenty of missteps (the Mario Party series, for example), he's never gotten annoying or sunk as low as Sonic. I like Sonic too, but my god is he ever an example of "oh, how the mighty have fallen".

17) When a movie shows up in the theaters, let's use Spider-man as an example, are you likely to buy the GAME version?
Rent, maybe. Buy, no.

18) What is your LEAST favorite genre of video games? (ex. fighting, sports, shooters, etc.)
Either realistic sports or SRPGs. I'd rather watch sports than play them, and most SRPGs these days (Disgaea, for example) make me feel really stupid when I try to play them. I'm not one of those people who just rushes into battle, I just always feel like I'm not "getting" something.

19) Is there a game out there that you feel was unique and didn't get enough love? The best games are the most underrated ones.

Attending MFF is pretty much a done deal, but what I want to know is when are most of you planning to arrive? The people I'm rooming with won't be there Thursday (Nov 20) the night, and I need to make a 90 minute drive there from home on Friday (10 at the earliest), so I figured the best way to plan out when to get on the freeway would be knowing when friends are showing up.

1 | What is the name of your fursona?

Dayken Alpha. Seriously need to come up with a middle name at some point.

2 | Where did the name of your Fursona come from?

When naming my fursona, I just went through a series of two and three syllable names that had a decent ring to them without sounding too pretentious or generic. Alpha was actually something I tacked onto my SN because I had to ditch an older, similiar one. Wasn't originally Dayken's last name, but it worked well and therefore it stuck.

3 | What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species?

Panda. Used to be a fox (and three other species before that, but I was a fox when I stopped delurking), but early this year I got bored with it and wanted to switch to something that was cuddlier and less common.

4 | What color is your fursona and why? Hair/fur/eyes/etc.

The usual black and white kind of patterning natural to a panda. Emerald green hair, and eyes that are a lime shade of green.

5 | What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your RL personality?

Tends to like attention (and craves it more often than I'd like to admit), reminiscing, hanging out with friends, and cuddling. Shy about admitting stuff he REALLY likes to do. Has a hard time keeping certain feelings to himself, and tend to become jealous with relative ease. Doesn't really speak up when in a group. Extremely loyal to his friends. Rather chatty.

I'm pretty much the same IRL, minus the cuddling, and I'm quieter too.



6 | What is one item your fursona owns that is significant to you in RL?

The navy blue hoodie he used to wear (more on that further down) was significant, if only because I had a jacket exactly like that IRL that I enjoyed wearing. At this point in time though, there's nothing that really fits the bill.

7 | What is one thing you think you would say to your fursona if you could meet?

It's kind of hard to talk when you're busy hugging the hell out of someone. >>;

Either that, or something along the lines of "christ, you're adorable".

9 | How has your fursona changed over the years?

First, the obvious: Species change, and he didn't used to be so...ample by default.
The other things: The hair used to be spiky, but since I'm not an artist a few liberties have been taken that actually turned out to be improvements. This also includes ditching the hoodie and ripped jeans for a shirt and a green tie, as well as a pair of khaki shorts. At this point he really only wears the tie most of the time.

Without a doubt, the biggest influence on the development of my fursona over the past few years has been  nemo . He's provided excellent input and suggestions that have basically become the standard for the character.

10 | How long have you had this fursona?

6 years. 2 lurking, 4 as an active member of the fandom.

11 | Would you like to be more like your fursona?

Honestly, I'm completely fine with none of this being real (i.e. I'm not one of those guys who wishes he were his fursona), but I really feel like my fursona is an important part of me anyway.

Since a couple of you have busy schedules, I figured this would be the best place to go over a few things.

1. As it stands, right now there are 5 people (Odendo, Deca, Mozee, Wes, and myself) who know for sure that they're going to be able to make it to the con. Nemo and Garr (as in Yulong, not the OTHER Garr) are still working to pull money together, but hopefully they'll be able to make it. It's the kind of room that's only meant for four people, so I'd advise that a couple of you bring a sleeping bag or something in preparation; that fold out couch at the MFF hotel was kind of a rarity.

2. In relation to the aforementioned point, the room share rates are as follows:
5 people: $78
6 people: $65
7 people: $56
I know it's a little late in the game to bring this up, but I'd advise putting $78 aside for this just in case things don't work out for the two still working things out.

3. I've only got the room for the nights of the 26-28 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night), which means you guys staying till Monday have to find somewhere else to sleep Sunday night. I know this sucks balls, but I have an exam on the 30th that I couldn't set a make-up for, and my folks wouldn't let me pay for an extra night just so I could toss control to someone else. However, I'll be at the hotel by 10 AM on the 26th and will be around for most of Sunday. Not sure what the checkout time is yet, but I'll let you know.

4. I really would appreciate it if you guys try to be a little more organized this time around. It's not something I'm going to bitch about if you don't, it just got kind of annoying losing stuff on a regular basis at MFF. Then again, I dunno how much time we're going to be spending in the room this time around.

Lately, I've been having a problem with Trillian's MSN plug-in. I'm able to log into it, but a good percentage of the time (we're talking about half here), the MSN section of my contact list won't show up. In other words, I can't tell who's on MSN and who isn't. People can still see me though, I've asked around while this is happening.

Basically, what I want to know is, is anyone else having this problem? I know Trillian is pretty stupid with MSN sometimes, but this is really pissing me off.

My group in Psych445 has finally started surveying people, and I still need about 7 people to meet my quota. Basically, I was wondering if anyone who grew up in a single parent household would be interested in taking it. It's not long, and it's confidential, so I won't be taking names, ages, your gender, etc. There IS an emphasis on questions regarding negative behavior, but that's because we're trying to correlate growing up in that kind of household with negative behavior.

If push comes to shove, I'll start asking people on campus. Just wanted to explore this avenue.

I hate to sound like Typical J. Furry here, but disregard the last journal. I was in a really lousy mood and mindset at the time.

Starting February 17th (i.e., tonight), CBS is going to air Dexter on Sundays at 10 PM EST. If you're even remotely into crime dramas or can stomach the concept (a Miami forensics expert that doubles as a vigilante serial killer, i.e. one that only murders twisted criminals. It's not nearly as violent as you'd think.), I strongly urge you to check it out. It's arguably one of the best things on TV in years, and now that it's no longer exclusive to Showtime (most of the edits for the CBS airing are language), I was really hoping some of you guys would trust me and give it a shot.

Then again, I watch "that stupid island show", so I won't blame you if you don't.

(And I know it's weird to post about TV, but I don't make a ton of journals, so cut me some slack.)
