Holy shit.

This is the first time in god knows how long that I was actually shaken by a horror film. It...it just fucking DELIVERED.

And while I know that's a pretty shitty way to describe a movie (there are actually good reviews out there, just watch out for spoilers), but there isn't much I can say that would actually do it justice.

Seriously, I want to gauge just how dead it's going to be that weekend. =<

Edit: And for the record, I'm not going. Though I guess that was obvious. ^^;

Weird habits:
1. Fairly often, when I IM somebody, I tend to mouth or repeat what I said under my breath IRL.
2. I have a hard time not being embarrassed when I speak a character's (as in a furry, not from a movie or something) name IRL, even if I happen to be at a con.
3. I almost constantly check my cell phone for new texts when I'm bored. Oddly enough, it's when I'm not checking and/or napping that I tend to get important ones. =/
4. I can only get much of any reading done when I'm in bed or on a bus.
5. I just can't bring myself to fave something without commenting. There's already too many people who rudely fave bomb without any input.
6. I refuse to use any portable gaming system without headphones, at least when there's other people around. They've come a long way in terms of sound quality, but I don't want to annoy anyone.
Hates:
1. I'm an art whore with a conscience; I'd rather not be aware, or best of all, not be an art whore at all.
2. I'm terrible at coming up with things to talk about when it comes to most people.
3. I tend to have sketch ideas or RPs that were a good idea or fun when I was horny, but after that mood passes I'll often look back at them and wonder "what the hell was I thinking?" out of shame.
4. Sort of like Verace said, I have no idea where my life is going, except that it feels like nowhere.
5. I'm awful at getting much of anything done if it doesn't involve college, work, or a video game.
6. Sometimes I wish I could run away from the fandom, if only because I feel like it's controlling my life at times. The people here are awesome, though.

I'm gonna be honest here (even though a lot of people already know this), I'm kind of lazy and bad at sticking most things through. But I'd like to do something useful around here again (not to mention use a different avenue for venting...urges), so does anyone have any story ideas? Not a plot per se, just a theme or situation to try and work something around.

Again, I doubt I'll get much of anything done, but I used to really enjoy doing this and I figure one last stab at it is worth a shot. ^^;

While I have to admit that I didn't get to see everyone that I had planned on running into, MFF was a fantastic con. Thanks to everyone that was nice enough to spend time with them, especially the kick ass group I roomed with. You guys were a huge pleasure to spend time with, and I'd be more than happy to do it again in the future. =3

Thanks to everyone who gave input on the previous journal. I never did manage to get around the problem in mIRC, so I bit the bullet and just started using Trillian's IRC plugin. Sorry that what you guys suggested didn't work, but I still appreciate your help. =3

And while one the subject of Trillian, I'm going to be scarce in that department this weekend. If I don't put this weekend aside to knock off some projects I'm way behind in, I'm going to get even less sleep at MFF due to staying up all night to work on half-finished papers. Still gonna check a few sites from time to time, but that's about it.

For the past three nights, I've been unable to connect to Furnet on IRC, even after trying 4 of their servers. The first two nights I was able to get back on after waiting about 10-15 minutes, but now I can't seem to get back on at all.

The error on particular is as follows:

The only thing I could turn up in terms of a search was an FAQ for another server (DALnet, or something to that effect) that claims this is not an error and that it's simply the server processing information. However, I never received those last two messages prior to these past three nights, and it keeps hanging on that last message (I never connect, mIRC doesn't actually freeze). I've tried a server that's not tied to Furnet at all and had no problems connecting, so obviously it's something on their end. Still, even after talking to a few people I have no idea what to do. Changing my nick, trying different Furnet servers, nothing helps. Nobody I talked to has been having problems connecting to it.

So, have I been hacked, is Furnet really messed up right now, or what? This is driving me crazy, and I'm desparate for a solution.

Seriously though, who can I look forward to running into there? =3

1. When I read, I tend to get into this almost-automatic mental habit of counting syallables in a sentence to see if they add up to a multiple of four. I do this really fast and don't notice it most of the time, but when I DO notice it, it drives me crazy because I don't have OCD and whether or not it does add up to a multiple of four doesn't affect me at all. >.<

2. Sometimes I mutter some of the stuff I'm typing up in IMs under my breath. Once again, no idea why.

3. Even though I can get into pretty much any kind of video game except for sports, I'll always have a special place in my heart for beat em ups. <3 Streets of Rage 2

First of all, Stretch, any word on Sonic XL Chapter 4? I know Ron was supposed to field it, but there hasn't been any word from him in terms of progress. I could try again, if you want.

And as for 9 to 5, it's not getting finished.

It just doesn't really feel worth it anymore. The personally it was most intended for didn't have a word to say about what was done so far, even after personally linking him via an IM (though if what I've heard about the guy is true, I shouldn't be surprised). This really shouldn't offend me (after all, the fandom doesn't give writers much respect on the whole), but it does. I know it wasn't great so far, but it was still early, and I had plans for it (particularly working in several people who I feel I really should do stuff for, considering how nice they've been to me).

So, there are two big apologies I want to make. To Charlie, who actually did like what I did despite having a small part this early in (I'm trying to come up with something for you from scratch to make up for this), and to the people who watched me just because of future chapters. If you feel like pulling me, I understand.

But on the bright side, I've been working on and off on something for someone who's been hoping to trade with me for a while, it's the least I can do for the guy for being awesome. Also brainstorming on ideas for something more serious (i.e., not fetish related); perhaps it would be best to try and squeeze in those people with that instead.

I AM working on a written project with somebody as soon as finals get out, but it's not going to be LOL FAT FURS like my older stuff. Something....unpleasant happened recently, and I'd like to keep that stuff out of the few things I actually get done for the time being.
