It's been quite a while since my last journal. I have a falling out with my Pomeranian wolf character. Expect changes to my FA profile, not sooner, not later, but whenever.

Nothing here. That wall of text needed to be changed anyway.

First things first, I have to say, this was the first time I stayed in a hotel at a convention, and I did not regret the decision at all. For once, I got to attend the parties I wanted to until late into the night without having to be concerned about the time I leave.

First thing's first, thank you so much  akonite for bringing my affirmation badge (commissioned by  likeshine). It has been a long wait, but yay, I can finally wear it with pride!

This convention also marks the first time I have fursuited, as well as joining a fursuit parade. I have to thank  Grael-Dragon for letting me borrow Oxidon for the day to suit around, and for  Drekian for leading a newbie fursuiter and making my first experience amazing. Thank you so much, you two!

I am happy that I was able to try and meet up with a whole lot of furry friends that I haven't seen in a year. I think I have organized my time to hang out with as much of my friends as possible really well. I finally met up with  ironfur , and it was great to chat with him regarding his time back in HK and stuff.

Great to finally meet  shinooo in person. It's awesome to meet up with another Canto-Canadian fur! One more step until we establish a Overseas Canto Furry group of sorts in Vancouver or something! XD

It was amazing to finally meet back with  blaze-collie , who took time out of his daily life to come up and specifically visit me. I just want to say that I feel extremely blessed and thankful you would make the trip just to meet up with me. It was an absolute treat to discuss and share travel stories and endeavours with you once again. It was awesome to meet  redheadedreptile again, catching up with everything, and his recommendations of opportunities to take in the great outdoors. And of course,  bronzecyberdragon92 too, talking about gaming stuff and whatnot. Wololo!

The list of amazing things that happened at this con has exceeded my expectations. On the last day of the convention, Syrian refugees made their temporary stay in the convention. The fursuiters were extremely friendly and accommodating, playing with the children. The joy and welcome that the refugees have experienced made me feel especially warm and fuzzy inside, and how proud I was to be a part of the furry community. I do hope this beautiful act of goodwill finds its way into the newspapers.

And of course, how could I miss my awesome bubble tea group? It was great to meet you all on Tuesday, and it was great to meet you all again for the entire convention! I shall hold the photo of you all fondly on many desktops, because you all are a huge part of my life, and made my life in Vancouver whole. With no pun intended, you guys made me feel extremely warm and fuzzy inside. It is a shame that I have to finally leave you guys. As I am typing on my laptop, I have to fly in 12 hours, my bags are packed, but...there's always next year, right? And remember, anything that happens between this year and the next are news to me!

I will miss you all,  Aleria and  Janathun,  lomarcan and  tyinsdarkwulf ,  drekian,  sonicpinhead, and Cargo.

I feel wanted, a sense of belonging, and love on both sides of the Pacific. I cannot ask for more at all.

So stoked to finally get myself in for another round of VancouFUR later today till the weekend, and this time, I booked a hotel room! I am so gonna meet back my furry friends that I have missed for an entire year while I was on the other side of the Pacific! I will probably spend the first day and a half shopping and getting stuff bought, and then it will be partytime! Woo!

Bad pun aside, this is the first Valentines Day in which I am not alone. I would like to take this moment to thank my fwoofy blushybuns goberian,  ntgre for being my Valentines. Life can sometimes be a box of chocolates, and that sure is the case if it involves us two sharing our love for each other over a box of white chocolate, our mutual favorite kind of chocolate!

My laptop's screen died when I want to draw. I could connect it up to the big public TV, but hey, drawing smut on a big screen where everyone can walk by and see is the grounds for a Today I Fucked Up topic. Secondly, right after that I was off for two weeks on a family trip to Vietnam (great pho, great banh mi), and I couldn't be bothered lugging around a laptop that doesn't work.

Oh well, there is a silver lining to it all - I bought myself a pretty damn good laptop, a Lenovo ideaPad i700, and after re-installing Clip Studio Pro, it is time for me to draw, full steam ahead.

P.S. I actually spent a good chunk of my time procrastinating on my artistic craft by playing Guild Wars 2 and Age of Empires 2 HD. Whoops.

Post Con Depression + Homesickness:
I am going to wake up in a concrete and glass tower overlooking the busy city, my stamina jetlagged and tiredness written all over my face.

- Day After Tomorrow, 8:30 AM -

The first thought that comes to my groggy mind as my phone blares its alarm melody was

"It felt like a dream."

The more fun that I had at ‪#‎VancouFUR‬, the more the post con depression hits me on the day that the fun ends. The fun that I had were less about attending the events, but being around my friends, the friends that I have not met for almost two years.

It seems like every since the last time, I, in the view of others have seemed to have differed, perhaps a little more introverted.. I felt less hyperactive, perhaps a little more pragmatic in my outlook on life, but overall, the emotion of company that I had with my friends had only intensified. I felt a sense of security, a sense of warmth, a sense of 溫馨ness...

Then I remember, the times that I have had in my dreams of the same friends being around me, in a dream rendition of the convention hobby at night, enjoying the conversation I am having with my friends, the ones that have been with me through thick and thin, and hugging them...the literal tangibility of the dream...and being able to successfully recreate that in the very reality that I had.

I am not exaggerating when I am stating that I am blessed to have met and been with old friends, met new friends - some the first time in person, and even made amends. When it comes down to it, all I wanted is a sense of simple affection.

It didn't felt like a dream, because it isn't a dream anymore. I have had faith in the thought to meet each other again, and that has rewarded me well. I thought to myself that as I finally dragged my frame out of bed, a little more.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in Canada, and in the spirit of being thankful, I would like to say several words to furry and scaley folks.

To the bubble tea furry group, despite how much time has changed us, I will forever cherish the memory of how you have accepted me with open arms, to make me have a sense of belonging. At the same time, I guess it is by a stroke of fate that we had countless little coincidences that formed and reinforced the scaffoldings of our friendship.

I'd like to throw in a sincere shout-out to  Aleria , as "the world is round so that friendship may encircle it". I have your gift placed on my shelf so that if I am feeling homesick, all I have to do is to lift my head and the memories will come flooding back. I may be the "Pun"-isher, and I may be deserving of the countless bops upside my head, but...these words are written with a heart of gold.

 Drekian , your jokes and supporting advice never fails to bring a smile to my face. You have your derpy and silly moments at times, but at the same time you are ready to offer me supporting words of encouragement and advice.

 Lomarcan , thanks for your advice and reprimands for me when I terribly sprained my ankle. I have and will keep it as advice. You can count on me as a loyal pomeranian-wolf! Haha!

To all of the "bubble tea" group, I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to Magic: The Gathering, even though it was for a trifle couple of months, and I confess, I haven't touched the deck due to hardly any of my friends playing it... Furthermore, I would love to thank you for the countless bubble tea meets that we had after sushi dinner, hence the unofficial name.

 urbanlemur , you are always supportive of me and my art's progress, and I would like to say, its your support that makes me feel strong, makes me have a purpose to continue drawing and to improve. I have learned much in terms of the countless faux pas I have made on my end, and while I am not aiming at bringing us together, as we had had enough verbal and mental punches, you have changed for the better, and I have too in terms of learning from my mistakes.
