Update time!!
Posted 10 years agoSo, I'm going to TRY to make this a once a week thing, but Idk how well that will go (due to a reason I'll say below).
I figured doing a group update would be easier than noting each individual person. I do want to give fair warning though, these first few collars are going to take me a LONG time. I apologize in advance, but, due to some unexpected bills and my hectic work schedule, I'm not able to buy the materials I need, nor have the time to work on projects. Atm, I only have Sunday available for personal projects, and even then, I don't always have every Sunday available.
I am trying my best though, and am going to try to get on top of things. ^^
Now, here's my current queue, and the progress on them:
- 1/2 fabrics in stock, waiting to order the other fabric
- Discussing design ideas yet (have to send notes yet >.<)
- Upgraded to a fursuit collar, hunting down fabric choices
- Hunting down fabric choices
I'm sorry for all the delays, and hopefully once I get these bills paid, I'll be able to obtain all the fabrics I need and can get to work right away! ^^
And btw, I will be doing the collars in the above order. Just in case anyone was wondering.
Thanks again for your tolerance and patience! ^^RAFFLE WINNERS!!!!

The raffle
Congrats to the winners, and they have 48 hours within me posting me this journal to contact me (via note please) and claim their prizes! I will discuss details there!
Thanks again everyone who entered!
If I get some more commissions for these, I might just do another raffle next month!
So keep your eyes open, and thanks again for all of the support!Raffle Changes, plus business concerns
Posted 10 years agoFirst off: I am changing the raffle. Not cancelling it, changing it.
You see, my pet Rue just brought it to my attention that fleece isn't a very good fabric to use for a collar. And so, I decided to change that part of the raffle:
The winner(s) may now get the collar in pretty much whatever fabric they want.
I will discuss it with them via notes, but I am thinking about offering: Fleece, flannel, cotton, fake leather, strap/webbing (Like this),
and pretty much anything else that I can get to work properly.
Also, I can try to do a different design as well on the collar. It'll make it non-adjustable, but I can custom tailor it exactly to the size of your neck.
The raffle is still going on here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6672403/
Now, onto the business concerns:
It has come to my attention that there are some people who have an issue with the way I make my collars.
While I am not going to name names, I am going to say it's a shame that the person in question feels the way they do.
I have always admired them, and tried to look to them for inspiration.
That being said, I will say this here and clear:
If you have an issue with anything I say or do, or with the way I run my business, then please NOTE ME.
Keep it private and professional. Don't post comments about it, and don't post passive aggressive journals.
And do NOT take it to another site! That can be taken as slander, and can get people in A LOT of trouble.
I am a very reasonable man. If you bring me a valid concern/point about something, then I will do everything in my power to make changes.
BUT, if you just act unprofessionally and do the before mentioned actions, I will immediately dismiss your actions as childish, and ignore any concerns you may have.
As I said, NOTE ME about any concerns! [Just don't note me for commissions, that's what the email is for! xD]
Alright, Raffle Time!!! Free Collar(s)!!!
Posted 10 years agoThat's right, raffle time! Because I have a really good paying job now, I'm not in a crunch for money anymore. Which means that I can actually do some work for free!! So, I'd like to celebrate that by giving away some collars in a raffle!
That's great Raythe! What will we win if we enter?!
The prize is a custom collar like this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16266004/
I can do a few options right now, like one, two, or no, D-rings, and it can be up to three colors (adjuster loop, front, and back).
That's so cool! So just one person will win that?
Nope! For every 25 entrees I get, I will add another prize! However, I am forced to limit it to four at the most. So that means if I get 25 entrees (not entrants, entrees! Keep reading to see what I mean), I will have two winners! If I get 100 entrees, there will be four winners!
Number of winners: 2
Why do you limit it to four winners at the most? Why can't there be more?
I'm forced to do that because I am working 50 hour work weeks, plus 7 hours Saturday. So that means that the only day I have off is Sunday, and I can only get so many collars done so fast on that day.
Ouch, what a bummer!
Yeah, it is, but back to the raffle!!
So Raythe, how do we enter?! I wanna get a collar!
I'm glad you asked! Entering is super easy!! Here's what you have to do:
Step 1: (Required)
Watch me, and comment the word "zombieraythe" on this journal. Doing both will get you one entry
Step 2: (Optional)
You can get more then one entry! Here's how:
Advertise this raffle! OR Advertise my Collar Sale OR Finish this sentence: "The Dragon had me right where he wanted me, and then....."
Each one will get you one additional entry, allowing you to get up to four entrees!! This step is totally optional though!
You don't have to do any of it, but if you do, please add the links/sentence into your comment so I know you did it! Thanks!
That's it? That's easy enough to do! How long do I have to do all that?
You have until Midnight (Central Time) on May 2nd to get your entrees in! I will be picking the winners on May 3rd!
Anything else? Or can I enter already?
Just one favor I ask if you win: Show and tell! Show me the collar, and tell me what you think about it! I'd like some reviews for my future website! ^^
That's it! Best of luck to everyone, and I can't wait to see what I'll be making for you guys! ^^
EDIT:
Due to some info coming to light recently, I am making a change to the raffle!
You may now get the collar in a choice of pretty much any fabric you want (to be discussed with the winner),
and I can make the collar custom sized for you or adjustable!10 for 10 Collar Sale!!

Wow, it's been forever since I was on this page! Update time
Posted 10 years agoWell, this is extremely embarrassing! I thought I was going to have DBS up and going nice and strong by now, but it looks like life got in my way BIG time! Wow that was a long time away! xD
But, I return with some good news, not so bad news, and great news:
Good news is, DBS has moved! I originally had DBS in a small room at my dad's house, and I had to share it with him, as it was his office as well. Well, I recently just moved in with my sister, and she let me have a spare room in the basement as my workshop. I just spent the last two weeks getting it all set up and ready to go!
Not so bad news: I am currently unemployed, and, I won't be able to get a job for two months now. That's because I broke my 9th rib on the right side. I'm not in very much pain, but it does flare up from time to time. I just have to take it easy, and it'll heal on it's own. However, I am on light duty for the next two months. No reaching above my head, no bending below my waist, and no lifting over 30lbs. However, fabric doesn't weigh that much, and so that brings me to the great news
Great news: Due to all of my complications in my life, I now have lots of time to get DBS up and going! In fact, I'm already working on my first project! I'm making a plushy for a friend of mine, and I just got done figuring up the measurements for the pattern. I know you guys are going to love this little guy, and I will be open to make more of them if there's interest! For now though, he's going to remain a surprise.
I'll give one hint, and one hint only:
CHIMICHANGAS!!!!!Terms Of Service
Posted 11 years agoDead Bite Studios
Terms Of Service- By commissioning me you are agreeing to my TOS. Terms are subject to change at any time, but you will be held to the terms set out at the time you make your deposit.
- I reserve the right to refuse any commission for any reason.
- If you are under 18 years old, you will need to find a 3rd party of legal age with whom I can enter the contract with. They will need to read and agree to my ToS, and all financial dealings will be agreed upon with them, and they will be responsible for payment.
Allergy Warning
- I do own two cats! I do try to keep them out of my studio, and they are kept away from the fabrics, however, I cannot always guarantee that I won't have pet dander on my person when I go to work. That being said, if you are deathly allergic to cats, PLEASE let me know right away, and I'll take extra measures to make sure that no cat dander of any sort gets on your order!
Contact
- My preferred method of contact is through email at deadbitestudios[at]gmail.com
- I may be contacted through other websites but once a deposit is paid I expect all correspondence regarding your commission to be done through email.
- I do my best to respond promptly to all emails, 24 hours at most under normal circumstances.
- I expect you to give me the same respect. If I contact you to approve something or answer a question I would appreciate promptness in response so I am not delayed in working on your project. While I’m working on your project, be sure to check your email at least twice a week.
- If you do not respond to my attempts to contact you for 30 days your commission will be forfeit and surrendered to me. No refunds will be issued.
- Quotes are valid only for the current opening unless otherwise agreed on, and all orders of $75 or less require full payment up front. Orders of $75 or more may be split into payments, but the first 30% payment is non-refundable for materials.
Turnaround Time
- I cannot guarantee any deadlines on large projects. I can only give an estimate based upon my current queue and working speed.
- Small projects are generally done within a week, two weeks at most.
- There is a rush fee of 10%-20% on any order that needs to be out by a short deadline, and it will only be allowed at my discretion.
WIPS
- I will only allow WIPs on large projects.
- Small projects will get an approval sketch, and once that is okay-ed, I will just keep going until completion
Payment
- A deposit is required before work can begin to secure your place in the queue and to buy materials.
- Your place in the queue is not secured until this deposit has been paid.
- This payment is non-refundable.
- The remainder of the cost will then be required before the product is complete.
- The deposit will vary or full payment may be required depending on the item ordered.
- Generally, large projects require a 30% deposit, and small projects require full payment upfront.
- I reserve the right to determine what is a large or a small project.
- Payment is accepted through Paypal only (possibly cash if you're local)
- Do NOT send me payment directly, I will send you an invoice
- If you send me a payment directly, I will immediately return it to you, and will disregard your order (meaning you'll have to resubmit your commission idea).
- I can ONLY ship to the address listed on your Paypal account. Please ensure this is up to date, and for all projects I will ensure your address is correct before shipping
- All prices are in USD
- I will not ship any product or order until it has been completely paid off. No exceptions
Shipping
- Quoted prices do not include shipping.
- Customers responsible for all shipping and customs costs. I will not falsify customs information.

- By default, my shipping quotes will include tracking and insurance
- I am not responsible for any damage that occurs once the parcel leaves my hands. If you're concerned about damaged or lost packages, please purchase insurance.
Shipping Note for Clients outside of North America
- Shipping to Europe and Australia for large projects is very expensive, and the customs fees are quite high. All of these fees will be your responsibility, please be sure to look into the import laws for your country and associated fees so you aren’t surprised. When shipping to Europe and Australia, packages are often handed off to courier companies in your country instead of national mail services. I cannot predict for sure which courier will deliver your package, but these courier companies often charge huge brokerage fees above and beyond the usual taxes and customs.
Cancellations/Refunds
- If you cancel, I reserve the rights to alter the design and finish the project to sell.
- I reserve the right to cancel any commission due to harassment, rude behavior, extreme nitpicking, or poor/lack of communication, etc. 30% deposit will not be refunded.
- If I cancel due to personal reasons I will refund everything, including your deposit, but I will keep all work and materials.
- If I am canceling due to harassment, nit-pickiness, non-responsiveness to communication, abusive language/behavior, non-payment, or breach of contract, or you are cancelling for any reason, liquidated damages shall be charged in the reasonable amount of 30% of the total cost of your commission.
- Unless agreed upon during quote process, commissions that remain unpaid for 30 days after completion are considered abandoned and are surrendered to me. No refunds will be issued.
- If you do not respond to my attempts to contact you for 30 days your commission will be forfeit and surrendered to me. No refunds will be issued.

- If anyone modifies or attempts to repair the product without my permission, warranty is void.
- Clean all items before shipping back to me for repairs.
- Any item sent to me for repairs that is dirty, or modified without my permission, will be sent back without repair, at your cost.
- I am not responsible for any damage due to misuse or normal wear and tear.
- If you'd like a touch up, repair out of warranty, etc on your product, then contact me for a quote.
Restrictions
- Only the highest quality materials will be used. Do not ask for a lower cost by using lower quality materials.
- Works in progress are subject only to a reasonable amount of edits before an extra fee will be charged. Please ensure your reference art is accurate and that any alterations or specific details are discussed during the initial communication.
