What are these alien worm monsters?
Skistomids! They're my personal specie, I do most of my worldbuilding with them. They live within a planet called Vakkour and are highly cannibalistic!
They can also eat a bunch and their stomachs are an erogenous zone if they eat enough! (If anyone wants to get one as a stuffing piece :> )

Feed drive is still going on, as of this journal, I only need $40 more before I draw the next part of it, and someone's already going to get eaten!

I'm trying to push these more because I'm disabled, unable to to work because of it, and not getting any benefits this month because I had to reapply, so things are incredibly tight this month. So far I do have just enough for my biggest bill, but that's about it right now

Getting everything all ready to do that feed drive I mentioned, let's see how far I can get this time

I've been on what's basically state disability, living off less than 500 a month, which makes things incredibly difficult, but I've managed. BUT thanks to my brain not cooperating with stuff, I'm not getting payed next month, which is going to be really fun and uh I really need to take on some commissions or something to make it.

I do have plans to attempt another feed drive for Tape, ideas on how draw farther into it too, so I miight do that too, or instead of trying to take commissions.
But yeah.... it's gonna really suck unless I can get some help

So the past several months, I was dealing with a kidney stone, I went to the hospital back in June about it, spent the weekend in the hospital, given some medications to help after I was released.
I was given a flimsy paper filter to catch it which I never did, and the filter didn't last long anyway.
Then, I would get severely depressed and without fail, I would get real bad pain on my side.
So I was able to see a urologist about it, got to schedule a surgery and CT scan a few days before. And got the stone lazered apart inside of me and recovery from that wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. Like I had some discomfort but nothing nowhere near as bad as the pain from the stone.

So that's why I've been so quiet and not doing much, also some other stuff happening that makes art difficult, BUT it's also been a great mushroom season and I've found so many good ones this year when I've been able to get out

I've been feeling really Awful for the past couple weeks, but then the other day when I was out, I saw a little mantis and it brightened my entire day, and I've been thinking about it since.
It's only the third one I've seen not as a pet in my whole life, it's so special to see them

I'm also gonna be going mushroom hunting in the mountains tomorrow and I'm so fucking excited about that, finding mushrooms will really heal me

Don't let yourself get kidney stones, passing them is the worst pain I've ever had.

Months ago I decided to stop making things to sell and not advertise for commissions unless absolutely needed (which I really appreciate everyone that's helped me out with that) but I'm closing them both for good, I already closed up my kofi shop and commissions page on there and will be at least getting rid of the commissions page link on my site.
Maybe I'll just keep my brushes up on kofi? Shrugs?

It's become too stressful for me to try to do either of these things anymore, I felt incredibly sick about it at a show this last weekend, but it doesn't mean I'm going to stop art all together, I'm definitely still gonna be drawing and posting what I feel like!

I will also be trying to finish the commissions I have currently, but it may take me awhile.

ANYWAY
I turned 30 back on the 11th and I cannot express how happy i am to finally be out of my 20s, they sucked! I'm finally free

And more towards the beginning of the month, I was gifted an entire deer head, his legs, and a piece of meat from him, so I skinned the head, separated it from the vertebrae, cut as much flesh off as I could and pulped the brains for use in tanning, and of course I really enjoyed that whole process.
Something about examining something so closely that you get inside of it feels incredibly special to me. Even more so with this because I saw the face of something I was going to eat, it was a really deep connection.

I know a lot of people are put off by seeing the face of an animal they're going to eat, but I feel closer to my food with that. I eventually want to get into hunting for my own food sometime.
But between that and watching this little butcher competition show that was absolutely wonderful, I finally figured out that's what I want to do.
I feel like I could take animals apart all day and feel fulfilled. So I'm looking into an apprenticeship, there's one that's through a local union too

Ok so pretty much: my car is going to be a salvage title I'm gonna keep it, get an aftermarket bumper and get some help with fixing it!
But, I need to raise about $220 for the title, and for this I still have my speedpaint and colored sketches open (you can see examples in my gallery!) to help cover it.

I don't talk about this much because I'm afraid of asking for help of any sort

And honestly, I've been struggling mentally for almost all of last year and definitely all of this year. Last year it was because of work, having to work and function every day and being worn down immediately every day. And this year, it's because of the remnants from that and struggling to find a job that doesn't make me want to slip into non-existence.
I managed to get on cash benefits from my state, but it's only 417 a month, barely enough to cover my car and insurance payments, and applied for disability but who fucking knows when I'd be able to actually get that


But until I somehow find a job that doesn't fuck me mentally, or get disability, art has to be my main source of income, but I can't do it
I can't get enough attention off my art to even begin to sustain myself and I really can't do it without any help.
I'm trying to not get into this last part too much, but I really really need some sort of help, I need to make some sort of sales from my art, or I just can't do this

I've been trying for over a decade for at least somewhat regular income from my art but I'm too severely introverted to be annoying about it, I'm too slow to post something on a regular basis, I'm too avoidant of trends to follow them, I'm too broken to feel like I can ask for help but it's what I need

I have a few designs thst are gonna be looking for homes, I'll post them up tomorrow
