Does anyone have any advice for good story thumbnails for FA? I need to make sure that when the thumbnail is so small, the text is still clearly legible.

For the first story I uploaded with a custom thumbnail, "Baby Daddy Sile", I made it 900 x 900 pixels (knowing it would be scaled down to some extend), but now all the text I included is super blurry. I can't find any concrete information on a smaller starting size thumbnails could/should be so that they aren't made so illegible when uploaded. Some say 200 x 200, some say 500 x 500. It's very confusing.

I guess it's also a learning moment that I shouldn't stuff so many tags into a thumbnail just to catch people's attention, and should stick to the bare basics.

I’m not an artist, but I’m decent at writing stories. So I like to use what skill I have to write stories as free gifts for content creators I like, using their OCs or canon characters they enjoy.

The problem is that while I may have a vague understanding of some of these characters from watching their shows as a kid, or seeing lots of fanart and maybe checking an episode or two these days, I don’t actually watch a lot of TV or movies period. I don’t have a good baseline understanding of the characters or their lore to write them, and checking their wikis and watching their shows to understand lore, details, personality & speech wastes not only time, but a lot of my energy.

I want to write something immediately, but if I have to slog through however many episodes and read however many pages, by the time I have a good enough grasp of things to accurately write them, I don’t have as much (if any) interest in sitting down and writing anymore.

It really sucks, but maybe it’s just a tough motivator for me to actually watch stuff in my free time so when the motivation to write DOES come, I’ll finally be prepared?

For any of my few followers who didn't catch it, I recently posted the refsheets for my new OC, a pony named Booster Beatstick!

I've been such a huge fan of  sileanimus and  widjetarcs's characters and their overproduction and hyperness, and I've been wanting to make a character of my own that had a similar situation, but who both had a distinct "affliction" that didn't feel copied from them and a more active and engaging personality than them (no offense). I'm in love with Booster's simple, monochromatic design, he's so handsome!

To reiterate what I wrote in his refsheet uploads, I'm totally open to anyone who wants to create content for or with Booster! You can check out my F-List to see what I would and wouldn't be okay seeing. I'm also open to being approached to roleplay with him, though I've only ever done it with two people for a long while, so I can't promise I'd be as good at it as I usually am if we're strangers!

Heyyy, it's been ages since I posted anything!

Lately I've been having more consistent energy to write, and I'm currently working on a story that's about 2/4s or 3/4s of the way done that I plan to post here (sadly not "Magnum's Longest Month", though I HAVE been thinking about that a bit more, and I may get around to that eventually).

But, I'd also like to write other stories too, especially since my living arrangement has been temporarily upended and I've got a lot of listless time now.

So, if anyone wishes to request a story, comment an idea below and, if I like it, we can find a way to talk privately and discuss the idea more in-depth! I'll ask you about any characters that might be involved (I'd be especially honored if Magnum Opus were involved, but please don't feel obligated to include him if you don't want to just to increase the chances of the story being written), whether you have any refs of them, what kinks you'd like to include, etc. I have a lot of kinks, so I'm unlikely to turn someone down, but if I do, I will do so politely.

Most importantly, though, please keep in mind that this is not a guarantee I will write a story from these requests, just a possibility.

I honestly hate when people mix angst with porn. There's something about it that not only makes me really angry, but when I read it, it gets to me a lot worse than angst on its own without porn.

I've had to unfollow several great artists that make great porn on several sites because they were making comics that mixed angst with porn, and that I couldn't guarantee a happy ending. One comic in particular really fucked me up and literally broke my trust for practically every comic I see on this site now, I can't trust any of them not to turn into a heart-wrenching soap opera and I just can't handle that.

And now that I've unfollowed them, I don't know if I can ever follow them again, because they'll just keep making said angst/porn-content, and/or I'll be too overcome with curiosity and the need for closure that I'll just go back to see what happened in the stuff that made me unfollow them in the first place - if I don't accidentally happen across that content first.

I've had to do this way too many times recently for comfort. My circle of artists that I follow is growing increasingly small and all of it is just making me really depressed. I don't know what to do.

I think the title is self-explanatory.

How inconsistent I am both in my head and in my writing with Magnum's personality... I can't stop alternating between "somewhat-open-perv" a la "Magnum's Glorious Potion" and the MLM Prologue, and a workaholic shut-in that only rarely shows his kinky side... I can't for the life of me pin it down or find a consistent middle ground, and I'm worried anyone who reads it is gonna think he's just poorly written and the inconsistencies are gonna suck and be noticeable and... I can barely put it into words I'm so worried...

What do I do? This is seriously ruining my motivation to continue this series... I can't write this series, or ANY story with Magnum, and expect people to like it or think they're well written (or that i'm even a good writer) if I can't keep my characters consistent...

Just letting people know I'm writing Week Two of Magnum's Longest Month starting today! I won't get it posted today, I wanna make absolutely sure I don't have any mistakes like I did in the first few stories, but hopefully it won't take too long.

Just a heads up, I am renaming Magnum's best friend and rival to "Parts Vermillion" and "Crow Over" respectively. I'll work on updating the stories that have been already posted at some point.

On top of that, I'll be using thumbnails for my stories now to give you guys a preview of the contents, and because stories with thumbnails tend to be more popular since they have a visual element. No actual art, unfortunately; they'll be styled after the thumbnails of IndigoRho, nice and simple. I'll also be including a word count somewhere, for anyone who wants it.

If any of my readers have issues reading the thumbnails for any reason, be it font style or the combination of colors, please let me know and I'll try to find a way to fix it so everybody can read it well.

With all of that said, I'm looking for feedback on posting the stories themselves. I know I like having the story on the post page itself, but do you guys think it's unnecessary to have the entire story both on the post and in the description?

I've been thinking about revamping some of the side characters in Magnum's story, if I were to continue the series and include them in future projects.

First, I'd have to settle on names because it bothers me so much I accidentally left different names for the same character in the posted stories. It's so sloppy and unprofessional!!! After that, I'm thinking about giving Magnum 4 friends instead of the 2 or 3 I had initially planned, all based around the 4 stages of Magnum Opus (the alchemical process). Each is associated with certain traits and characteristics that could act as the basis for their personalities.

Magnum's rival would definitely be Nigredo, and he'd stay pretty much the same. I have an idea in mind for the Albedo pony, who would be completely original. But I'd have to decide whether Magnum's friend, introduced in Week One, is Citrinitas or Rubedo, and how much his personality might change depending on which I decide on.

On top of that, would anyone be okay if I changed his personality in anyway? Or a part of his character, like making him an older stallion instead of someone around Magnum's age, for example (assuming I change him to fit Citrinitas)?

At least if I focus each week on Magnum's interaction with a friend (perhaps instead of, or perhaps along with, Magnum's average life), the four stages would match up with 4 weeks, and then the last two days could be included in the final week or made into a final part on their own.

I'm also open to suggestions if anyone has anything - things you might like to see in this series, for example (if it's kinky stuff, trust me I do not judge), or how you think the story should go or end (I already have a few ideas in mind, which I might post as seperate versions, perhaps one for each friend?).

Would anyone be willing to pay a few bucks for a story from me? I know my track record on FA hasn't been the best (inconsistent posting and errors in the post), but I'm working on improving those issues, and if someone were paying me for a story I'd definitely pay more attention and put more effort into it, AND keep the customer up to date until the final product is to their liking.

I don't think my abilities warrant anything $15 or above, but I wouldn't want to sell my stories for too cheap or still too much - i'm looking for opinions.

Funny how I’m so pumped to write smut and then as soon as the results are in I lose motivation to do ANY WRITING AT ALL goes away at the drop of a hat.

I don’t want to disappoint anyone that offered ideas and discussed details with me, nor any of the people that voted and want to read more stories from me, but even when I don’t have anything actively keeping me busy I have no motivation and desire to write... it’s just a thing that happens to me. I get all pumped to do something but soon after I’m burnt out and lose interest almost entirely... it’s why I can never make promises to do anything ever.

I’m sorry to everyone whose hopes I got up and whose time I wasted with polls and discussions - I have no clue when I’ll write anything, if at all. I hate disappointing people, but it’s better to tell you now than wait a month with no activity from me before I say anything.

Sorry for the delayed Journal, got caught up in some stuff! A big thank you to everyone who voted - a lot less than I had expected and hoped, but enough to make the vote worth it in my opinion.

FA should really have a gender filter in the Advanced Search bar, or at least the ability to exclude genders in search results with "no" or "-". And I mean the gender you choose when you upload a pic (Male, Female, Transgender, Herm, or Multiple Characters).

I'm gay, I like dicks, she-pronoun users aren't my sexual or romantic preference. But whenever I search stuff, a lot if not most of the results are female or She-herm/trans characters (an example would be if I try searching hyper pony stuff - a majority of the results are female characters like Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Celestia, etc. with dicks. Essentially, "Hermaphrodite"/"Transgender" gendered uploads are the majority).

Of course, I can't "no/-" those results away because those only work with tags, upload gender doesn't count! And if it's in the upload information, why would someone need to tag it?

That's why I try to tag my stuff with genders; "male", "stallion", "m/m", "gay", etc. so that people can easily find my stuff either by searching the sexuality or excluding what my stuff isn't.

Hopefully none of the links are broken! I tried to organize the poll as best as I could, and although I mentioned some of the included kinks for some suggestions, those may not necessarily be the only ones included.

Some of the suggestions (such as the first two) were either an idea I myself had or an idea that was fleshed out with another person. So, it's been a while since I wrote for that No Clop November series - where Magnum had a little potion mixup and not only inflicted a hyper-production curse on himself, but prevented himself from actually cumming and relieving that build up for a month.

Well... the sudden burst of motivation to write smut was what inspired me to ask people for suggestions for stories, and the one response I got was great and motivated me a bit more.

But the lack of any more than that one single response, not counting the non-suggestion reply comments (which were all from the same person), whether on that Journal or from Notes or even asking a semi-friend on Discord has completely sapped my motivation to write again.

I understand it's only been one day since I posted, and only several hours since I sent those Notes and Discord message. But you'd think even after that amount of time I'd see more, that I'd get more. Especially since, again, I reached out directly to three different people who have all been active recently. But not a single response.

It's hard not to be a little bitter and saddened. People obviously have their own lives with their own things going on, I get that, but not a single other person has responded, even when as of writing this I'd assume most people are off work and have free time?

If anyone happens to read this, I deeply apologize if it sounds like I'm insulting you or angry at you, that's not what I intend or want. It's just that energy and motivation are rather rare for me to come by and if I can't do something soon after I want to do it, it basically doesn't happen at all, and I crave feedback and responses from other people so much, but most of the time I'm met with silence or lackluster, uninformative feedback. Well, I didn't make it to my goal of 38 days, but I outlasted everyone else in my NFF group!
