Moved everything to scraps, should have deleted most of it but I'm real sentimental and it's real old.

The stuff I have posted here isn't really representative at all of my current work or ability. Might start posting new work here, we'll see.

Yeah yeah it's just a 1-all with C-S, WHATEVER I FEEL WAY ACCOMPLISHED.

Back home from AC and a week with Mozee afterward. Had a good time, not exactly thrilled to be back in the daily grind.

Ended up being less active than I intended to at AC, but that's what usually ends up happening. Spent most of the convention chilling with Nemo in the zoo or wherever we happened to end up and saw a fair amount of Odendo, LQ, Woods, Dayken, Nate, and other people passing through. Didn't do a ton of drawing but it seemed like more than I've done at a convention in a while. I have a habit of getting all excited about doing all sorts of things at whatever convention is coming up and then just going into full on chill mode when I get there and spending most of it sitting around. It's not so bad at AC though, since there are a fair amount of people I only see once a year there.

Spent surprisingly little time in the game room this year. Played a song or two with Milt after the RB tournament was over, played a couple songs in DDR...that was about the extent of it.

Had a dope lunch with LQ and discussed careening, smoldering, and reduction with him one on one.

Saw Mozee throw down with the other dancy guys a fair amount (as well as win the dance competition! way proud of him for that), they had some nice circles going throughout the con. Ronnie, Atsu, and Blue were really tearing it up as well, saw some very cool stuff. I really need to work on my dancing. It's something I enjoy, but I've really slacked off since I initially got interested a few years back and really have a long way to go to catch up to people. Just need to make myself do it more so I can find some style that works for me and run with it...though I've been directing most of that sort of energy towards turntablism lately.

Met some new people, Nargleflex is a cool dude. Futonmania and Yorick were pretty cool to hang with, had fun gaming a bit in their room the first night of the con. Spent time with Abby, not really a new person but I hadn't talked to him in years, also a really cool guy! Got to sit down with Mozee and Milt and chat with Media a bit the last night of the con, really nice guy with a lot of interesting stuff to talk about.

So yeah, it was a good time all things considered. I always end up wishing I'd spent more time with various people and it always feels like the con is over just as I get into the groove of things, but that's just the way it is. Getting to spend the following week with Mozee definitely helped take the edge off, and I had a lot of fun seeing friends in the NY and PA area, but all trips have to come to and end. Train ride home went smoothly (sort of got to see a fight! some tool got dragged off the train and slammed onto the trunk of a police car at the Buffalo station) and actually arrived a little bit early.

So yeah, back to boring life for a while.

I will be there, as usual. Rooming in the Westin with Mozee, Jouva, and Tyco. Planning to spend a fair amount of time with LQ, Nemo, and Odendo as well. I'm sure I'll be around the game room a bit, and I'm bringing skates as well.

So  odendo came out for the weekend and we had a pretty rad time. Dodecon 1: The Dodening was p much a success.

Odendo brought his entire n64 collection with him, and the first night we ended up dumping it into his duffel bag and randomly grabbing cartridges out of it, changing every so often at a fairly quick pace (until we hit starfox 64 and played all the way through). This worked out so well that we decided we should try our hand at an LP the next night using the same format.

So that's what we did, and now we have about 4 hours of footage to edit (maybe) and post on Vimeo. It worked out pretty well I think, Odendos camera is pretty rad.

Through all this we learned never to play Aidyn Chronicles at all ever under any circumstances. You really can't even make fun of it, it just hurts.




Also, Odendo, you left your Ivy the Kiwi? disc in Dracs Wii. Ill get you a password so you can go rescue it in Shiren.

IN ANN ARBOR HOLY SHIT

So I had this idea, I shared it with  odendo and we wanna do it.

Whenever FA starts allowing account creation again we were thinking we'd try to start up a group, THEGAMECENTER.

The idea is to round up arcade enthusiasts (REAL ARCADE NONE OF THIS GEOMETRY WARS CRAP) and organize score attack and whatnot on a wide array of games. Also art since, well, this is an art site I guess.

We're doin' it man. This shit is happening.

I won one of Sega's Free Stuff Friday giveaways :D And it might be the best one I've seen them give out so far!!

Caught it earlier in the week when they announced what the prizes would be and was very interested, Drac mentioned it to me when they announced it was about to go up and I AM VERY GLAD HE DID.

Right after I sent in my entry I said something to the effect of "I hate these things, they always get my hopes up for no reason." :P

Animepunch ended up being pretty amazing. Got a hot tip that Kors K was playing the dance, amd Drac was kind enough to drive us down to Ohio for it :)

I had an amazing time, we had some friends on staff that got us on staff for a day and we actually helped set up for Kosuke before he played. Had a blast during his set and even got to meet and talk to him briefly afterwards (check out the new profile pic :D)

Seriously the whole thing still seems so surreal. I've been playing bemani for 11 years now and actually getting to meet one of the artists behind the music, let alone one of my absolute FAVORITE artists from the series, was just incredible. Add to this the fact that these games aren't even really supposed to be available in America...the whole thing just blows my mind.

Drac if you're reading this seriously thank you so much again. You have no idea how much it meant to me.

What better news to wake up to than that one of your long time absolute favorite musicians is dead. Just completely out of nowhere, apparently in a car crash last month. He was 36 years old. I don't like getting real sappy about stuff but I can't think of many artists that have produced so much music that's been so meaningful to me and I've had such strong emotional connections to. I feel sick.

SO I survived another con.

I'm really no good at writing these summary things and I'm more than half asleep at the moment having JUST got home, so if I forgot something important just reminded me and don't take it personally.

I ended up having a lot of fun this year honestly, awesome roommates and I think I did a decent job of managing my time..well by con standards anyway. Kinda bummed we didn't get around to playing Bolide.

Speaking of roommates, got to meet  Kyotsu for the first time and for the record he is an extremely cool guy.

Randomly met  SkyRyd3r while goofing around doing freezes in the lobby with Mozee and proceeded to have an awesome time with him. The three of us crashing the circle at the dance Friday night was pretty amazing. I really need to work on my moves though, it was the first time I'd really danced in a pretty long time...My toprock is weak and my footwork is sloppy, not to mention that I've lost pretty much all of my endurance. I'm motivated again though! We can pull together some sort of con-crew :P

Did a little drawing, which is more than I can say for the last 3 or 4 cons I've attended. There was plenty of other cool stuff (Manmachine Plays Jazz). If I go through everything in this journal it will end up being a wall of text that nobody will bother reading. I'll just have to trust people to flesh stuff out in comments.

Last thing I did before taking off Sunday night was throw down with a lynx suiter in the zoo, arcade tokens flying out of my pockets during my footwork. That was pretty cool.

Seriously why did I not get into this series sooner. BRB GOTTA GO FIGHT THE BELKAN WAR GUYS
