Poll: Would You Want A Speaker Vest?
Posted 13 years agoI have been told by several furs that they would love to commission me to make them a speaker vest (or something like it). Here is a picture of me with the speaker vest on: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7352149/ On the back are 3 more speakers and the subwoofer enclosure.
My question is, if I started taking commissions for these portable, wearable, custom-built speaker systems, how many of you would want one?
If this poll comes out and says that there are a great deal of you who would like me to make these, I just might start a website or something to take orders ^-^ Now of course if there isn't, and only a few of you would like to commission me, I'd still be willing to take your request :) The guess-tamated total cost for something around what I have now, would be somewhere between $550-650, depends on how much all the are and how elaborate you what it.
Thanks all ^^

Anyone need a room for FWA?
Posted 13 years agoI have a room for FWA for 4 nights, Thursday the 15th through Monday the 19th. The room cost would be $120, you'd have to find your own transportation there and back though. And so far, there's 3 fursuiters in the room, so hope you dont mind being surrounded by fuzziness :P

What's On My Mind? How To Deal With The Public.
Posted 14 years agoPeople and the general public are stupid (and/or ignorant) emotionally-driven (instead of logically-driven) judgemental loud individuals. They are the ones who the media always finds and wants to talk to, because they themselves are these same people. They will hear only want they want to hear and then immediately put emotion in it.
They are also judgemental, often seeking out others' flaws, and then speading and amplifying them, to make theirs seem like no big deal. For example: let's just say I love to beat up my son, I no it's wrong and others will hate me for it, though I point out a furry to the public and media, and start saying he loves to fuck in animal costumes and fuck goats. They will home in on that because they love juice flaws, and this random guy has so expertly pointed out, with all of his 2min research of the fandom, told us everything we ever need to know about the furry community. And now, the media's glass is full and emotion has been put into it, unwilling to except anymore information, be it true, false, or whatever.
So that is why I say, when these people ask you, "So your those people who fuck in fursuit (which I just learned of that word 5min ago)?" Just smile and tell them, "no, that is something completely different, we are just people who love cartoons. Love to draw them and dress up as them and act like idiots, lol." People are stupid as I have said, and when you speak logically to them, with absolutely no emotion, they will hear exactly what you have said and then understand. Then they will spead that good information, because they heard it first hand from someone actually in the fandom, and that in itself, makes them feel important, they are the ones will new info that no one else knows!
So please take this advice and use it, if you've read this far, then I must be making some sort of sense, heheh. And next time that you meet someone like these people, dont get angry at them, pitty them, for they have no true happiness in their lives and usually are that bright and wont make it as far in life.
So be happy ^^ Life is too good to waste even a second of it feeling down.

Renaissance Festival Furmeet - Sat. Sept. 10th
Posted 14 years agoHey everyone! I have been talking to the Buckeye Furs, and I think we all are going to go on over to the ren fest on Sept. 10th. Last year, there was about 8 of us, and 4 of us were in fursuit. We actually got to be in the parade because of it! I think we can definitely do it again if we had some more furs come along ^^ Also, if ya'd like, we dress our fursuits up alittle bit to look like we're from that movie Bitter Lake, lol. We'd probably get there at like 9:30am to be sure to get together and get tickets.
Sorry for taking so long to post this, but I have been completely consumed with school and work; last week was finals week (I past though yay!). I hope a lot of you can still go even though of the short notice.
Here's the website: http://www.renfestival.com/
As for prices, I think its like $20 at the door, but if you get then online, its $17; parking is between $3 to $5.
If you have any questions at all, send me a note ^^

Posted 14 years agoI had a freakin amazing time this weekend!! Soooo much happened, so Im going to put it in bullet points.
Here's what me and the buckeye furs did on Friday:
*People showed up

*we did prank phone calls
*then went to the bowling alley dressed in our fursuits
*there were 15 of us (8 were in fursuit)
*got tons of pics with random people
*and then went to Denny's in our fursuits.
Here's what we did today:
*planned a lot for our new con Furlaxation
*viewed the con space
*ate out
*rocked to some brony music
*went to music stores
*then ate out again, this time in fursuit.
My mind has been blown by the awesomeness of what has happened this weekend ^^ and there is more to come, thanks to Labor Day Weekend!

The Summer Quarter is Finally Over!!!
Posted 14 years agoWOW! I cant BELIEVE how hard this quarter has gotten! And when I say that, I really mean my Design of Machine Elements class. Programmable Logic Control and Thermodynamics were super easy compared to that class!
Let me tell y'all just how difficult this professor was:
First, he doesn't write ANYthing up on the board, everything is slides (with absolutely no equations) and then him sitting at his desk reading a 23 step spur gear selection process. At the end, everyone is completely lost.
Second, his tests are unbearable! There were only 3, and the class avg on ALL of them, was about 62%, no joke. This is the professor who tried to fail an entire class a few quarters ago, but the university wouldn't let him.
Third, he tells you to ask him questions if you are unsure about anything, but when you do, he gets intensely angry, says that you are stupid and should have know about this before entering his class, and that you'll probably end up working at Kroger. But then, he quickly lightens up and chuckles as if he was just kidding.
Fourth, he gives you 2 projects: The first one is a car project were each group of 4 had to build 4 model cars, that ha to power itself for 3 meters and then has to start the next car, pretty simple, he gave us 7 weeks to work on this. The second one is where groups of 2 have to design a entire drive train, that means: motor, chain and sprocket, gears, bearings, shaft, wheels, belts, etc. and then have to write up a 36 page report on all of it, with drawings and webpages and brought items and machined items, and everything else! He gave us 2 weeks.....
And of course the thing is due during exam week, when there's, of course, exams and other things due, but no, no other classes matter but his.
But oh well, my exams are over, still have his project to finish up, and then I will be completed with my 3rd year of MECHANICAL ENGINEERING!!! Only 2 more years to go...... woohoo I guess..... *falls over, asleep*

Wondering what happened to the fox I got?
Posted 14 years agoSorry I havent told you all what happened, so much has happened in the last month and a half, you forgot to post a couple things.
I went all the way up to Akron Ohio, it was a 6 hr drive, about $80 in gas too get up there. When I got there, the lady wasnt only selling foxes, but several other animals. She went down to the basement and got the little guy and brought him up. She let me hold, but he was very skittish and he was a little bigger than I thought he'd be. She just said I was new and he would take a day to get used to me and he was really like 6 weeks old. I then filled out the paperwork and excitedly drove home.
When I got home, I put him into his three story cat condo, along with the several toys I bought him, food, water, and litterbox. After a couple days of doing what the lady said, holding him and feeding him by hand and putting one of my sweaty shirts in with him to know my smell, he was still biting me, to the point of drawing blood. And he wasnt using the litterbox. I called the lady and she said the same thing she told me before, I didnt know what I was doing and he's not used to me yet. And he'll learn to use the litterbox eventually.
I wanted a second opinion, so I contacted Jim Redmon, another fox breeder, actually the one I wanted to buy from first, but he was sold out of kits this year. I told him about the little guy and sent him a picture of him. He sent me an email back and told me that the lady has been lying to me about the fox's age, he's really 12-14 weeks old, and way past to age to socialize him. And from the sound of it, she never socialized him to begin with, just let him bond with her and it would be impossible to socialize him now. I called her back to see if I could return him, and she told me I could, but no refund. I told her I wasnt about to drive cross-state twice and plus be out 250 dollars.
I didnt know what I was going to do, couldnt hold him, couldnt pet him, kept pissing and shitting everywhere, and kept me up all night. I was very lucky that the awesome Mr. Jim Redmon said he would take him off my hands and use him as a breeding fox, and then next year, he would give me one of his newborn 4 week old female kits that would be litter trained and socialized (which is what I was looking for to begin with), for free! I was, and still am, so grateful for this. I took him up to him, and saw him meet the other breeding foxes, and was glad everything worked out.
I have learned when you want something, wait as long as you have to get exactly what you want, it will be well worth it and you wont ever regret it ^-^

July 9th - Furmeet at the Foxx Den
Posted 14 years agoHey everybody, its been 5 months since my last furmeet, and I think its about time for me to have another one. My family is going out of town for the weekend until like the 17th, and that means BRING ON DA FURRIES!!
Little bit about my place if you haven't been there before: I live on 5 and a half acres of land (so there's a lot of running around room, and doing whatever), play some rock band or Halo 3, I also have a pool table and ping pong. As for food and drinks, people would have to bring chips and/or pop etc, We could put some money together and I could get some Little Caesar's Pizza. I also have a pool, so if anyone wants to go swimming, bring your swimming stuff. The meet will start at about 5pm, but people can start showing up as early as 2 or 3pm.
I hate that furmeets are so awesome but so very short, so this is going to go as long as it can, hopefully into the next day. People can come and go anytime, dont think just because you arent gonna be there right at 5, you shouldnt come. My last furmeet lasted way into the next day where we all went hiking and fursuited around Eastgate, and I want this one to be just as great. There is tons and tons of crash space, so people can spend the night here if you are coming from Dayton or Columbus. So if you think you are interested, post a comment saying you are coming. Hope to see you guys here ^.^
My address is:
3965 St Rt 222
Batavia, Oh 45103
Coming From Dayton/Cincinnati:
Go to I-275 E to exit 63B to merge onto Route 32/OH-32 E toward Batavia. Continue to follow OH-32 E for about 5.4 miles
Take the Main St exit toward Batavia and go for about 0.9 miles, then turn right onto OH-222 S/S Riverside Dr (A United Dairy Farmers will be on the left at this intersection)
Continue on OH-222 S for about 1.9 miles to my house on the right.
There will be three houses in this field right before the road makes a 90 deg turn, my house is the center one. It isn't too hard to find, hehehe.
Coming From Columbus:
Take I-71 S to exit 50 for US-68, turn left off of the exit to go south. Continue down US-68 S for about 25.3 miles.
Turn Right at US-50 and go for about 12.1 miles.
Turn Left at OH-132/OH-276 (there will be a Sonic on the left) for about half a mile, then OH-132 breaks off to the right.
Take OH-132 for 3.3 miles, then turn left onto OH-222.
When you get to the intersection where the UDF is, keep going on OH-222 for 1.9 miles, and my house will be on the right.

Do not trust google maps with directions to my house, it drops you at the church a mile before my place, and sometime sends you a completely different direction.

Anthrocon's Over :(
Posted 14 years agoWell, it was amazingly fun, but I sure am glad it's over. I am so tired and sore, I couldn't even make it all the way home, had to crash at Husky's place. I do have some people to thank and give comment to, so I think I will.
husky657,
knightwolf1, Drayk, and Seeker: It was a ton of fun hanging out with you guys! This year was so much more enjoyable than last year, even with all the crazy hotel stuff.
husky657 Your Provalone suit is really well done, gonna be even better when the hooves are finished. Had a great time fursuiting with the two of ya, can't wait until the next con. And thank you for helping me with my eyes on my fursuit head.
lightpaws,
syberfoxkune,
jakthewuffle, and
Koinu-kun It was really great seeing you all there, wish we could have hung out more, but at a con this size, lots to do. I wanna thank Lightpaws and Syber for making my fursuit shirt, I had so much fun in it :)
Tanek_Woofer Your new suit is amazingly awesome! I only got a glimps of it at Ohayocon when it was a partial, but it is very cool now. It was fun seeing ya there and hanging out in the Headless Lounge with ya.
WhiteWing121 It was great hanging out with you and your friends, and thank you for letting me crash in your hotel room those nights, I would have missed a LOT of fun at the dance if you didn't. And as far as what happened with the room drama ordeal, it's completely fine. The time at the dance greatly out-weighs what happened afterward ^-^
The con was very fun, super glad I was able to wear my new fursuit shirt and my speaker vest. I had a terrible time to get it to work, and it crapping out on me right at the beginning of the fursuit parade, but I have solved the problem and will have even more fun at the next con. Which I think will be IFC and then MFF.
Hope you all had an incredible time and awesome memories, and hope to see you all again really soon :)
Oh! and one last thing.........

Morphicon Review & FA Update
Posted 14 years agoMorphicon was awesome! I got to Columbus in the afternoon on Friday, hung out with a lot of furs from the USO Furs groups, and got to eat a ton of food ^^ I was very excited about this con because I was able to wear my speaker vest I made. It's basically tactical gear/ harness with a 5.1 channel surround sound system attached to it. I was sooooo glad to be able to wear it and my fursuit parade, had a lot of furs dancing around me in the parking lot afterwards, hehe.
A lot of us went swimming in the hotel pool, that was a lot of fun, but now I know of all the dangers a wet towel can cause, lol. The dance wasn't all that great, the fursuit games were fun because they included everybody (not just those in fursuit), and had a killer time at the battle of doom. It was soooo crazy! Nerf darts were flying everywhere! It was all a load of fun, and its going to be even more fun next year because me and my rock band band (Rage Quit) won free admission next year :)
As far as FA, I can not believe I have a little over 100 people watching me! Thats amazing! I know I havent submitted any new art or any new drum pieces in a while, its all because of school and work. I cant believe how fast time can slip away from you when you have 16 credit hours of school and ~15hr of work each week. Good news is: I am find a little bit of time to tune up my drums, getting my desk cleared off for the drawing pad, and the end of the quarter is in about 2 weeks. So I will be posting more hear soon, and I thank all of you for your patience :)

FCN Review
Posted 14 years agoFCN was pretty awesome! Friday was ok, not a whole lot happened. Did a lot of fursuiting with
Husky657 ,
SyberFoxKune ,
Lightpaws , and
knightwolf1 and it was a ton of fun. On Saturday, thats when all the fun happened! There was the fursuit parade, then all the fursuiters were outside listening to each others car sound systems, then husky and I were in the variety show. Here is the link to the youtube video of us doing the variety show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyv8egSZvT0
Poor Uncle Kage's microphone died during his story hour and had to use his voice to finish it. I got to play Rock Band 3 in fursuit. The song was Sister Christian by night Ranger, I played the drums on expert and got a 96% !!! The dance came along, and me and husky got right in the middle of it and started doing hip-thusts, lol.
CrazyPuma and
max4274 joined us, and before we knew it, there was 30 furs in a line doing our movements! It was so awesome, and the DJ got on mic and said, "I've heard of conga lines, but you furries are a bunch of retards." Haha, it was incredible!
On Sunday, nothing happened, it was very boring, and when the fursuit games came along, everybody was extremely tired. I got home at about 10:30pm and immediately hit the bed. It was an ok con, probly wont go back. Now it's time to plan for Morphicon!

News so far on my pet fox Im getting.
Posted 15 years agoWell, so far, I have ordered her from a breeder, and she will be born in the spring, and I can go pick her up on May 8th! I have gotten my permit from the Ohio Division of Wildlife to own her, and it has to be renewed every year in March starting next year. It's 25 dollars a year to have the permit.
I also found a vet for her, and they are only about 7 miles away from my house! I went there the other day and asked to speak with the vet. I wanted to know how much the vet bills would be. I told him I was getting a pet red fox, and the first thing he asked was, "Ok, do you live in Ohio?" I gave him a confused look, and said, "Yeah, I live like 7 miles away from here." He was then very surprised and told me how lucky I was to live so close to them. He said that they have people from all around come to this vet, because they are great with exotic pets and order all the right shots they need. See, a lot of vets will tell you that a fox shot is the same as a dog shot. It isnt, they are two different species, and if you tried that, in a lot of cases, it would kill the fox or give it the disease.
So, I am very glad to have them so close to me ^^ I cant wait to get her, and will be posting more and more updates as time goes by.

What to Do With A Cracked Cymbal Part 2
Posted 15 years agoOk, so I put the slots in my cymbal, and that worked alright for a little bit, but then the cracks started to come back in between the slots, horizontally. Well, that sucked because the piece in between the slots was absorbing all the hit, and there was no volume at all.
I took the dremel and took that piece out of there, then I dremeled about a 1/4" further in either direct, just to make sure I was getting past the base of the crack (so the crack wouldnt continue to form like it has). I then put a couple fillets on the corners so that they wouldnt deminish the sound or volume.
When I was done, it looked like this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5162403 It isn't that goodlooking, kinda strange, but it sounds awesome!! When I hit it, and it was better than ever before, my ears were like "Woah, this is loud." I highly recommend other drummers to do this before they go out and spent like $140 for a new cymbal (which wont have the same sound you like), you can save so much money.

What To Do With A Cracked Cymbal
Posted 15 years agoOk, so you all know that my drum set is finally complete, but then the other day, I saw in my favorite crash cymbal, I had two small cracks in it, and they were about 4 in away from one another. I didn't do anything, thought it was nothing, but now it has gotten to the point where the cracks are now an 1.5" long each, and the one started cracking into a "T" shape, and all my volume from the cymbal was disappearing.
Well, I was feeling pretty down, now I had to buy a new cymbal. I went to Willis music, and a guy there told me to drill out the cracks. I thought he was crazy, but I thought I'd try that before buying a brand new $150 cymbal.
I got home and drilled 3 1/8" Dia. holes, all and the base of the crack (not at the edge of the cymbal). I then took a dremel and drilled out a slot in the cymbal. Now there is this "U" shaped slot and a "T" shaped slot in my cymbal, looks really scary, and I had my doubts. But when I hit that cymbal, the sound and volume was back!
I couldn't believe it worked, that crazy guy from willis was right! I highly recommend other drummers to do this, it might not look pretty, but it is much better than buying a brand new cymbal.

Info About My Drum Set
Posted 15 years agoWell, I have been wanting to do this for a very long time, see how much I have spent on my drums. I first got them little over 2 years ago for $150. The only good about them were the shells, everything else had to be replaced. After two years and shopping on craigslist and at willis music, I have finally finished my drum set and getting all the recording equipment for it.
A short list of some of the things I have bought:
All new drum heads
Double bass drum pedal
All new stands
All new/sightly-used cymbals
7 piece drum mic kit
10 mic cables
2 mixers that have 4 mic inputs each
New throne
10" speaker monitor
Webcam
Drop hi hat clutch
A ton of audio cables
and so much more......
I have gotten so many deals on almost everything I have bought, only a few small things I have actually bought new and at full price. I have spent about $1000 on my drums alone, and I have spent another $800 on all the recording equipment. So for everything I have and use that you all hear in my submissions, to get to that point, it have cost me a total of about $1800.
Now that surprised me, because I thought it was going to be a lot higher, and it should have been. I got so many deals, like the mixers should have been $170 each, but I got them for $130 each. The double bass drum pedal should have been $120, I got it for $80. Drum mics should have been $300, I got them for $150. And the ten mic cables should have been $300 all together, I only got them for $40!
I love my drum set and I want to do so much with it. I just started up a Youtube channel and I think I will be recording some videos of me playing. It was a lot of money for everything, but if you have the talent and the want, I say go for it!

Thanksgiving Day 1: Mattingly Family Party
Posted 15 years agoWow! What a day! It all started out with my family cleaning up the house, and at about one o'clock, my family on my mom's side started showing up. My aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, third cousins, grandparents, it got up to being about 40 people. And we all brought food, ooooohh, so much food. We feasted and talked, and then talked and feasted some more. We played Rock Band 2 a lot, but there are about 5 kids that are like between 4 and 7 that kept wanting to play, and getting in the way of the screen, and throwing toys everywhere. I dont mess with kids that young at all, and when all this chaos started happening, I kept trying to get everything back into order, but talking to these kids are like talking to a pack of puppies. You tell them to get out of the way of the screen, they dont, you say that they cant play because it requires coordination that they dont have yet, but they get right in your way. You try to make them sit down, or leave to do something that wont cause as much trouble as their causing now, but they just continue, *Sigh*
It wasn't until a while later that I realized that you cant control this, there will be no order with this amount of chaos. I should just sit back, and let somebody else deal with all this. I tell ya though, my one younger second cousin Michael, he is about 8 I think, haha, he is the cutest thing you'd ever see ^-^ He asks for things so politely, he has such a soft voice, not yelling kinda soft. He is so funny too, like I was playing Rock Band, and I am a drummer, I never play guitar, so I gave it a try. I was having an alright time with it on medium, keep in mind I do expert on drums. And he comes over to me after the song and whispers, "I can get you passed medium if you need me to" Hahaha, it was so funny, I chuckled and handed it off to him. He is great on that thing, I tell ya. I want my future son to be somewhat like Michael, he's a good kid :)
Wel, tomorrow, it's off to the Berchtold Thanksgiving Dinner, on my dad's side of the family. Hope your all's Thanksgiving were great too ^^
