Go check Angiemeww out (plus a clarification on the new art)
General | Posted 8 months agoHey all.
Angiemeww is a new artist who is very affordable and extremely pleasant to get along with. She is new to the community so I highly suggest you guys go and say hi to her.
My newest upload is from her, and I love it. I did, however, get some messages from concerned friends that her art is AI; I can assure you that it isn't as I have seen her progress from the sketch stage of my commission. The main mistakes that were in the original upload (missing tail and less fingers in one of the poses) were ones that I failed to catch in the rough draft and she still fixed them when I pointed them out after-the-fact.
I know AI has become a major issue for artists, but please remember that anatomical mistakes do not automatically mean that a piece of art was generated by AI. I've been around for years and I've seen plenty of artists - veteran ones at that - make anatomical mistakes especially with hands due to their complexity. They're normally caught in the draft stages but it still happens.
The last thing I want is to have new artists like Angie be scared away from posting their art (furry or otherwise) because people automatically assume that their mistakes automatically mean their stuff is AI generated. Angie was so nervous when I told her what my friends said (especially since she had gotten accused of it in a prior picture) that she even showed me the different layers of her work to prove it was non-AI despite me already seeing her drafts. She's a very young artist at 19 (as labeled on her profile page) so even if she has been drawing since her childhood she still doesn't have as much experience drawing multiple complex poses while also on a time limit as compared to older artists who just naturally have more years of experience. It's reasonable to make mistakes like she did.
There's three reasons I'm making this post:
1) To get more eyes on new artists like Angie.
2) To clear up any misconceptions I've seen on the art I got from her and uploaded yesterday.
3) To ask people in the community to give new artists a chance to make mistakes without automatically assuming that their art is AI-generated. I've seen a few artists who have that smooth "AI look", but remember: AI only generates what it creates by scraping existing art - meaning that it had to scrape images from artists who already had similar styles to that to begin with. Let's not discourage newer artists from posting their work by immediately assuming it's AI especially if said artist explicitly points out they don't like that stuff like Angie. I'm not saying that there aren't bad actors, but I also think it's better to give someone the benefit of the doubt in this case. I'd hate for us to suddenly have a community of newer artists too scared to post their stuff because they're nervous they'd be called out as AI when they aren't; that would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater and that won't help the anti-AI cause at all.

Heads up: Skeb/Pixiv Upload inbound in a few hours
General | Posted 9 months agoI have a bunch of stuff I got from skeb and pixiv over the last 2 years that I never uploaded. I plan to upload them in a few hours so apologies in advance for the surge in my uploads later today.
Give SluggishPotato a look!
General | Posted 3 years ago
SluggishPotato just opened an account here. She's an animator who wanted to branch out into commissions including TF :3. She's awesome and I HIGHLY suggest looking into her. An example of what she did for me is "https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51436857/". As you can see her posing and expressions (and... well, everything) is really, REALLY good, and she's very affordable :3Decadent-Furry has opened for commissions! Check him out
General | Posted 3 years agoI just commissioned some awesome art from
Decadent-Furry, and was shocked to see that they didn’t have much demand despite having an amazing art style and great pricing, and are pleasant to chat with as well!
They have a pretty unique concept called “Leaky Cave” where you can choose different types of rubber to fall on a victim and change them in looks and personality. For example, you could have a rubber suit cover your character, be turned into a punk female raptor or mix those together (as I got in my commission below):
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47055181/
They're also really good at other sorts of transformations, like the one I got of a mask possession into a dragoness:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44757520/
I’m legitimately surprised that there aren’t more people commissioning them and they definitely deserve more attention and demand. Please give them a look!

Elden Ring is biased against youngsters
General | Posted 4 years agoI mean, it’s in the name. ELDEN ring. What happened to Young’n ring? Midlife-crisis ring? But noooo it’s only about old fuddy duddies and even the bosses are older than everything. We work our butts off to get more powerful but since we are all younger than that we have to be “tarnished” goods and thus get looked down on.
By the way did you know that dragon fire hurts a lot? BRB going to heal annnnnd a bear mauled me.

Animal Crossing is the Dark Souls of Rerolling
General | Posted 4 years agoSo I decided to continue Animal Crossing, and totally forgot that you have to transfer your island separately from your user account and saves when changing consoles (sold my old one) so I had to make a new island. That isn’t the problem since I know what I’m doing.
The problem is the rerolling. I have amiibo cards but I dunno why but I just want a doggo or kitty as a starting villager (especially the new wolf, but I know how unlikely that is). I keep getting birds (and mecha birds) and things that are not doggos.
I spent three hours on this. Not one wolf and I keep getting goth girl Cherry (who I had before so I’m trying to get someone different).
The game refuses to let me stop due to being animal crossing levels of addicting, and keeps giving me ponds shaped like dicks as insult to injury. Someone please end my misery. Even my real life cat is concerned.

Update: Use rubles when paypalling to Russia
General | Posted 5 years agoThis specifically pertains to transactions between US clients and Russian artists. I just didn’t have enough title space to say that. I’m not sure if the reverse is true if a Russian client commissions a US artist.
I wanted to make a fresh journal so people who had a similar issue to me knows the solution. If you try to send money to a Russian artist from a US account, you must send it in Rubles. Trying to send it as USD will block you because of ambiguous “restrictions”.
This also applies if the artist sends an invoice requesting USD. They HAVE to send the invoice requesting Rubles or you will not be able to send them anything.
Big thanks to
Juliy_Miuliy for explaining this in the previous journal.

General | Posted 5 years agoEdit 2: I confirmed it. I was able to choose a payment option only if I wanted to send money in rubles. Thanks to everyone who gave advice, and a MAJOR thank you to
Juliy_Miuliy
Edit: According to
Juliy_Miuliy this is fixed by sending the money in Rubles. I can’t confirm it myself but given how wonky paypal can be about this stuff, I totally believe it. If anyone else can confirm I would greatly appreciate it.
Today I tried to pay for a new commission, and the artist involved had a Russian account. For some reason, paypal refused to allow me to complete the transaction, stating that it could not be completed due to regulations. This happened regardless of how I tried:
- She had sent an invoice, and that did not work
- I tried manually entering her paypal email, and that didn't work
- I then went into a transaction I did with her several months ago (which had worked back then with no issues), and tried to send money via "repeat transaction"... and THAT didn't work either.
Proof: https://imgur.com/a/zJcAlQd
I checked online and apparently this happens occasionally to people who are trying to do transactions between the US and either certain Eastern European countries or Russia. I confirmed this with a friend who had recently successfully done a transaction with the same artist, but resides in Canada. He also confirmed that paypal could be subject to the same regulations of any US financial institution and thus may have recently been forced under a stricter policy.
As such, if you do want to commission an artist in Russia, make sure that you can first send that artist money so as to save you and the artist headaches. You can find workarounds for this such as getting help from someone in another country you CAN send money to, but just be prepared to jump through several more hoops to make the transaction.
The good news is you can easily tell if you're under that restriction: if you have an invoice from a Russian artist or know the artist' paypal info, you just put it in, put in a price, then click "next". If you are under the restriction, it will block you from being able to choose a payment source, so there's no risk of accidentally sending money.
I'm assuming this issue will also happen if you live in Russia and try to send money to a US artist but I can't confirm it.
TL;DR: Apparently Paypal has imposed restrictions on transactions between people in the US and Russia, and I wanted to give people fair warning about it.

Need input from you guys
General | Posted 5 years agoSo I was going through my external hard drive, and noticed that due to not originally organizing my commissions properly, there's quite a few pictures I have that whose artists I do not recall. That's what happens when you commission for years and don't organize properly I guess >_>. I hate not giving credit where its due, which is why until now I've not posted these pictures.
I was thinking however of uploading them over the next few days with the hope that someone who sees it can tell me about the artist, and then I can give proper credit both to the artist and to the person who reminded me of the artist. Is that a good idea? I don't want to give any impression that I made anything I upload (I don't have any drawing ability) nor do I want people to get the wrong impression that I'm trying to take credit for the pictures.

Update regarding mass upload
General | Posted 6 years agoSo uh... I started it a few hours late, and forgot just how long it takes to upload pictures (thank god FA made the upload pacing more forgiving than their previous one-pic-then-wait policy). I just finished uploading
epichoagies stuff, and am working on
chaoscrocs stuff next, but may have to do it over two days as I didn't realize just how much I commissioned him over the years >_>.

General | Posted 6 years agoI just realized that I uploaded barely anything I received from
chaoscroc or
epichoagie so I’ll be doing that tonight. It’s almost 10 am for me as of this journal so this will happen in about.... 7 or 8 hours.

General | Posted 6 years agoHey all,
So I decided to go back into Animal Crossing again... and realize now that the Welcome Amiibo cards (aka the cards with RVs) are impossible to get now. Does anyone have any cards or card packs specifically from the "Welcome Amiibo" series that they'd be willing to sell?

Warning: Going to do a mass upload soon and a question...
General | Posted 7 years agoAs the topic title says, I'm going to do a mass upload soon. I want to give the artists more exposure, and didn't realize that journals aren't really read much compared to uploader comments for pictures.
I have a LOT of stuff needing uploading, but unfortunately that also includes pictures that I got so long ago that I don't recall who the artists were. I was considering uploading these and putting them in a "Need artist name" folder, and asking viewers for help in finding the artist. Would that work?

Guys, give this new writer some attention, he's good!
General | Posted 7 years ago
TheShadowFox16 just started writing, and the stuff he's made is really good. He was kind enough to write a story for me, and I loved how it ended up. Please give the guy some love, he deserves it :)Story in question: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/28028756/
So guys, I have a serious question
General | Posted 7 years agoI know this might be an odd question, given the art focus of the site, but there’s no harm in asking.
I plan on getting certified in Cyber Security in the healthcare industry, in a specialization called HCISPP (healthcare information security and privacy practioner). It’s a subset of CISSP. Thing is, outside of ISC squared I’m not sure of any courses that teach it, and would like to take some online courses to help better prepare for it. Does anyone know of any?
I’m also looking into alternatives to that certification that would help boost my credibility in the internet security field, so I’d appreciate any suggestions there as well.

mizuho is open for sales, and is really affordable to boot. He doesn't have any wait list now and definitely deserves more attention. I has question (potentially opening story commissions)
General | Posted 9 years agoWould anyone here be interested in me writing commissions for them? Currently looking for a job and am getting ansy being inactive. If so, how much would you guys suggest I charge?
In terms of what I'd be comfortable to write, it'd probably be MTF TG of most kinds, but also non-fetishy stuff as well, so... yeah. *shrug*
Edit: Since some people wanted examples, these are some of the stories I've written. I know they are old, but these are the only examples I still have up :(
