I learned my lesson this weekend. Never go to a con to meet someone, especially any ex of Tristan's. We'd been talking about meeting at TFF for months. I got there and let him know I was there and the motherfucker never even checked his phone it seems. I even let him know which hotel I was staying in. For someone who told me he doesn't do shit like that, standing me up at a con is pretty...furry thing to do. It's been years since I've gotten to spend time with anyone let alone even have a single hug lasting more than a second that I was looking forward to this. I am angry and heartbroken. Never doing that again.

I was hoping Ted Cruz would lose tonight, but we have six more years of him. However it something to think about that a democrat came very close to defeating him in a very pre-republican gerrymandered state. Been playing a lot or Naval Action lately. I am a Trekkie though and damn do I wish there was a Trek game in the same vein. If set around the time of the Dominion War it would even have as many factions as NA has now.

Some of you already know I was in a major accident Wednesday. Firstly it was not my fault. Second, I was treated and released at the hospital. I'm taking it day by day recovering. I came out of it with cuts, bruises, a severely pulled muscle, a fractured rib (that doesn't bother me at all), and a healthy dose of PTSD. Yes there was a fatality and the cries of the other family haunt me along with the anxiety involved in figuring out how to get back to work without having transportation and how I'm going to afford bills, food, and meds. While working cleaning a client's offices tonight I had the thought that there has been so much conflict in the Star Trek Online universe that there should be a spate of interesting war related "movies". They could have their own versions of Saving Private Ryan (Saving Ensign Nog?), Pearl Harbor (two Delta Flight captains become involved in a love triangle while the Iconian War rages), Das Boot (a Romulan warbird crew is sent behind the lines during the Vaadwaur/Alliance war to raid Vaadwaur shipping), 13 Hours (a Federation outpost must survive repeated assaults by True Way terrorists until reinforcements arrive).

But I don't know where to turn. Got a citation for not renewing my vehicle inspection. Why? Because I don't have the $1100 I need to get the rear axle fixed...again. I also have collections agencies after me trying to collect debt from when I was in the hospital back in January. One of those is nearly a thousand dollars. I have no idea what to do. I have a part time job that maybe pays a few dollars more than unemployment insurance. I have diabetes so I NEED to have money to buy needles and insulin. That takes precedence over anyone's bills. I don't know. I think it would have been better if they had just given me enough morphine to take the edge off the ketoacidosis pain and let me die in comfort. I certainly would have been less of a burden on my family. I have no friends who would miss me in the least. Maybe one or two a thousand miles away. Certainly no one here would miss me at all. I don't have any talents except for maybe some little bit of writing, but I don't do smut and that is what sells.

I really could use some help. I am still unemployed. I need help with bills. I was hospitalized for a few days last month and need help with that, too. Money is very tight for my family. I owe the hospital $13000 if they don't decide to write it off. I applied for and was denied indigent care assistance. I can produce proof of hospitalization.

I hate begging but I am being forced to do that. I got a citation for an expired registration. It's expired because I cannot afford the work my truck needs to get the required safety inspection. i work effectively part time for $8.00 per hour and I had to beg for two raises just to get that. I work for an employer that does not give raises based on length of employment. I have done a little writing in the past some examples of which are in my scraps folder. I suppose I could open for commissions and try to find work in the fandom to supplement my income some.

So it seems lately with the Texas weather that the town of Lindale has been a tornado magnet. My mom and step-dad live there and today their house got hit. They are fine but shaken up. They might have to stay with me for a while. Many people have been injured in this storm with several houses and businesses being damaged or destroyed. So, whoever turned on the tornado magnet please turn it off.

I have been playing Naval Action lately. Tristan and I found a new clan to game with and it seems to be working out so far. We even tried to get in a shallow water port battle tonight, but the Spaniards got lucky and intercepted us. We lost. We were outgunned from the start, but we had fun in PvP which is the objective.

I also recently went to my first furmeet in years. It, too, was a lot of fun and I plan on going to the next one.

I have been watching clips (and whole episodes) of The Clone Wars and clips from Star Wars: Rebels and this has gotten me to want to dig up the old Star Wars Roleplaying Game and create an avian Jedi. I have two options: the old d6 West End Games Star Wars RPG which is relatively easy to get into and create a character for but is a very obscure game or the D20 system referenced earlier. I do not have the Saga system or the newest non-Wizards of the Coast version. Now there are three avian races in West End version that were common around the galaxy: the Mrissi, the Mrlssi, and the Shayshay. The first two are relatively similar versions of each other and are bird of preyish in appearance with the only difference being that the Mrissi having a more uniform covering of feathers and vestigial wings. The Shayshay are basically anthropomorphic parrots known for their singing ability. In the D20 system, the one I would rather use due to more people being familiar with it, the Mrissi and Shayshay are gone and the Mrlssi appear more deinonychus like in appearance and size. They also get a seemingly unfair penalty to both strength and dexterity. -4 Str and -4 Dex for a race that barely reaches a meter tall? No thank you. The strength penalty I understand but not the penalty to dexterity. Part of the population would end up making Jar Jar Binks look graceful. I have thought of taking the simple route of just adapting the Aarakocra to Star Wars. All of this is moot and just a project for fun as I have no one to play with though.
