Sadly...
Posted 18 years agoFA's been so *wonderful* in promoting the progress and spread of furry art. However, it has one big downside:
It's made it very easy to discover that there are an uncomfortably large number of Furry Artists are truly self-important assholes milking the fandom for social validation.
If you're not one of these.. thank you. You're what makes the Furry Fandom so awesome.
But if you are, then no matter how much I may like your work... Fuck You.

Good art gone Bad...

Well Drawn/laid out? I'm pretty forgiving of even very amature works as long as it looks like effort was put into it and the color contrast/detail isn't too confusing that I can't make out what the picture is.
Yiff? Excellent. Not remotely required for me to really enjoy a picture, but what can I say? I like teh pronz. (which is what the rest of this post will be in relation to)
Bondage/latex/petplay or other 'light' kinks/fetishes? Spice makes a masterpiece.
"Harder" fetishes, watersports, S&M, Cub art, etc? Even if I'm not into them specifically, I can usually appreciate and likely could find the image worthy of pawing off to if it's done well.
Vore? I've got my hand lotion and Kleenex armed and ready.
Scat? ... Damnit. Well, there goes any and all form of desire to even watch an artist, no matter how much I've enjoied their art in the past. (if such subject matter is more then an occasional occurrence).
I enjoy a wide variety of kink and fetish material in art, often dabbling into the weirder or harder stuff... but scat? I can't understand it, and really have no desire to do so. I understand submission, or the need to feel dirty or defiled... but obtaining sexual pleasure in the use of or *shudder* consumption of feces? Too edge for me, I guess.
I mean, hey, it's your kinks, fetishes, and most especially your art... If it's not hurting anyone but yourself, then I have no place in criticizing it. But I respectfully must say that scat art the quickest way off my watch list.
Then again, I am just another face in the crowd. Feel free to ignore me. :)
