ArtFight and Commissions update!
Posted 3 months agoIt's that time of the year again, and my friends have convinced me to take part in ArtFight this time!
https://artfight.net/~DELTA_181
Now, what does that mean? Well, I'm gonna be swamped for the entirety of July, and it's gonna throw a wrench into my plans to start taking comms like I said in the card post.
So the new and delayed date for comms is August 1st. It'll give me more time to come up with a pricing model (I'm gonna be aiming for roughly 200€ for a full body full render), and to ask more friends about the intricacies of doing comms.
My main goal is to make them reasonably competitive for the quality of work I try to achieve, and to offer just enough slots so the interested have a decent chance of snagging one without it overwhelming me. The plan is to start with 3 slots of any level and adjusting dynamically from there as I finish them, opening more when I'm ready. I won't be trying to do them full-time, not even close, as I do have a day job and I have no doubts that I couldn't make a living off them without cranking up the prices and burning myself out. Not to mention the fact that I'm not sure I could keep a steady stream of clients, so I'm not even considering it as a primary income option.
Payment is gonna be handled through PayPal invoices. The last thing I want is to get burned by a potential scammer like some of my friends have been, so I'll take some CYOA precautions as well, making sure the commissioner is who they say they are and that they have a good track record or they seem legit.
I am ultimately only doing this as a hobby, and offering comms is a chance to do more art for more people and to push my skills even further, all while taking some pressure off of my finances. I'm not struggling by any means, but I like nice things and nice things cost money. Also it'll make it much easier to go to cons! I managed to go to NFC2025 and had a blast, so I'd like to repeat that next year!
I'll probably be opening a Ko-Fi as a tip jar and possible payment option for smaller pieces as well, especially since I've had one or two people ask about it before.
Also if any of my watchers have any experience with taking comms, feel free to chime in! I'm always happy to get more of a perspective for this sort of thing!

Finally got a Bluesky profile!
Posted 2 years agoIf anyone's interested, I've finally got a Bluesky profile!
Nothing on it right now, but eventually there's going to be lots of random ramblings and IRL stuff that's not really fit for here
