MFF 2015
Posted 10 years agoI got back from the Con last night and let me tell you it was the best MFF I have ever been too. Plenty of great games, with wonderful people, and fursuiting. Oh yeah I got a fursuit I will get to that in a bit. First however lets get the bad out of the way thankfully none of the negatives had anything to do with the convention, but they both involved food.
First night me and my friends tried to order some chinese food from a place called China Kitchen I think. After an hour without the food arriving we called them back to ask for the status of the order to which they said the driver is on his way and it should only be another 20 minutes. Ok we wait like 30 minutes and no food so we call again and once more they say the driver is on his way. So we wait even longer and getting fed up and this point we call again and this time they say the exact same thing and then they actually hang up on us. At this point its been almost three hours and we are fed up with waiting so we just get some McDonalds. After we finish eating that the Chinese food delivery finally arrives, four hours late at this point, and he tries to tell us we only placed our order an hour ago. Having been treated like shit on the phone and then straight up lied to by the delivery guy we refused the food , told them we weren't paying for it, and after some arguing he finally left.
The next day in order to avoid another delivery incident we decide to just go out to Denny's nearby. We know the food won't be great, but at least it will be cheap and filling and we won't have to wait very long. Well it wasn't as spectacular of a fuckup as the Chinese food, but they still managed to be pretty bad in their own right. The waitress forget to bring out drinks to some people on the table, gave half the people at the table the wrong food and my friend's steak was overcooked. So we are going to see if we can come up with some more inventive solutions to dinner next year to avoid hiccups like this.
As for games I spent a little less time in the game room then usual this year, but I still played some fun games. I got in another game of Lords of Waterdeep this year and did much better then last year. I got to jump in as the ghost in the tail end of a game of Mysterium and that cemented the fact that I definitely want to get that game. Also played a short version of Vault Wars which was a neat little game of bidding and hidden information. Then there was Shadow Hunters on the last day which was a hit like always and I only fucked up dealing out the cards once. Also in one game I managed to get the Machine Gun as Charles and mow down two people at once for the win.
I got to play in Lupus in Tabula every single night including Alkali's massive 50 player game. Alkali's game was fun as usual and he definitely brings a lot to the table as a moderator, but I found 50 people in the game to just be way too much and I ended up having much more fun at the smaller games. I had an amazing time in Iggy's game on Saturday when I got put up on the chopping block on round 1 and had to immediately reveal myself as the owl. The plan worked and the werewolves didn't kill me for a while afterwords so I had fun being a big controlling voice in the village. Oh also found out at the end of the game the guy I put up on round 1 and convinced everyone to kill instead of me turned out to be the Werehamster. After that we played to a couple rounds of a slightly different version called Werewolf of the Dark Arts. Which had a different voting system that I am not sure if I liked more or less, but it had some really interesting roles in that I loved and would be excited to see brought into Lupus.
Then there were two more small games of Lupus on Sunday and I ended being the werewolf in both games which was fun, but I did sadly ending up losing both of those games.
Then there was the fursuiting. I got my suit as part of a custom design auction near the beginning of the year and I picked it up at the first day of the con. You can see some pictures the maker put up before I got the suit here http://www.furaffinity.net/full/18246128/ and I am going to post some pictures of myself in the suit later. Fursuiting for the first time was so much fun and simultaneously so difficult. I knew seeing in the suit was going to be difficult and that it would be hot, but I had no idea of the actual degree until now. Everything was worth it though for the pictures, nice comments, and hugs I got from so many friendly people. I made sure to pace myself and made frequent trips to the headless lounge so I didn't get too much time to suit, but the little time I did was absolutely amazing. I definitely need to spend more time suiting to get adjusted to it and now I just need to find excuses to go suiting.
Overall it was an amazing con and I love my fursuit.

Kind of a New Year's Resolution
Posted 11 years agoI have wanted a fursuit for almost as long as I have known about the fandom, but I always told myself they were too expensive. This year I have decided that I am not going to put it off anymore and I have begun setting aside a little money each month for one. Its going to take a long time and I might not even have enough this year to get one, but I am making steps towards getting one.
MFF 2013
Posted 12 years agoI had an absolutely amazing time at MFF and I am so glad I decided to go again. Played a couple of cool games in the tabletop game room and had a blast playing Lupus in Tabula on Friday and Saturday night. Went to a few panels about fursuiting and got some good information that I hope to be able to put to use when I get a fursuit of my own some day. Also I saw the fursuit dance competition which was outright incredible. All in all I had a great time and I plan on going again next year.
I took some pictures which I will upload soon. I could use some help figuring out the names of some of the fursuiters though so any assistance would be appreciated. As a disclaimer though I make no claim about being a good photographer and I had a little trouble figuring out the camera at times so they are not the best pictures in the world.

Rediscovering the Fandom
Posted 12 years agoI first found out about the Furry Fandom around six years ago. When I did it felt amazing to know that there was a whole group of other people who had the same interests as me. I bought a tail and wore it everywhere. I met a good friend through the Fandom and even went to MFF back in 2007. All in all I had a great time. Then my friend moved away and I don't know why but I kind of just forgot about the Fandom for these last six years. Until last month that is.
Last month through roaming the internet at random I was reminded about the Funday Pawpet Show. I had always meant to start watching but just never got around to it. So I decided to finally give it a shot and what do you know I was right back into the Fandom. It wasn't long until I was spending hours watching all sorts of Furry videos on Youtube and looking up artists I hadn't checked on in forever. Then something even more amazing happened.
One Wednesday while working late at Walmart I saw some one walk into the store in a fursuit. Until I saw him come in I was actually starting to believe I was the only furry for more then a few miles around. To say I was excited would have been an understatement. I approached and asked if he was from the area and it turns out there was a local group that would meet up every other Wednesday called LCFM. Since I found them I have gone to two meets, and I intend to go to many more in the future. Funny how the universe just seems to work out so nice some times.
Since I have rediscovered the Fandom I have been feeling great and this time I am not going to let it go. Well probably no one will read this but it just felt really good putting it into words.
