Posted 9 years agoI have a drawing in mind I'd like to try. Sort of a pretty, pin-up type picture. But I'd rather work from a ref than making up an entirely new character for this. I'd prefer a female character with more natural fur colors, like grays and browns. However, even if your character has bright/unnatural colors, feel free to link a ref in the comments. I would also take any fem-boy characters that feel like cross-dressing. I'm sorry I can't make any promises I'll use your character, I'd just like to see which one catches my eye for this particular project. Though I might keep this as a list to come back to in the future next time I feel like borrowing someone. ^-^ So please, throw some refs at me! Lol.

We has been joined at the hip ever since!So what are we going to do on this very special of days? We're looking forward to a blissful day of being nerdy shut-ins together, curled up together and catching up on shows and games and stuff! We haven't really seen each other in two weeks, for reasons that are a different story. Two weeks is about the longest we've ever gone without seeing each other, and it's only happened one other time, so probably we'll just cling to each other all day. :3 I'll be posting some pieces of squishy art later. The Berenstein Bears and the Mandela Effect
Posted 9 years agoA few days ago I asked if anyone remembered the Berenstein Bear books. I got a good handful of answers, and the majority of you that mentioned pronounciation said that you grew up pronouncing it "Beren-STEEN" or "Burn-STEEN" Personally I grew up pronouncing it as "Berenst-eye-n" because it was spelled like "Frankenstein." Or so I thought until this past Tuesday, when I learned that it has always been spelled "Beren-STAIN" and pronounced like a coffee stain. Does this sound wrong to you? Does it make you uncomfortable? Because there are a whole lot of people on team "Berenstein" (there are even t-shirts!)

Since Tuesday I've been researching the Mandela Effect, and let me tell you, the first 24 hours were not fun. I have discovered I share many false memories with a lot of other people. I don't really want to get into the details of which ones right here, partially because I don't want to influence anybody before they can discover any ME's they might have for themselves, but also because it feels like I could be viewed as joining "The Club for People Who Don't Know How to Admit They Were Wrong About Something." However, that's not what this is, though to anyone on the outside it could seem that way. It's unsettling. When something you absolutely know in your gut to be right is suddenly wrong, or something that you know happened never really happened, and there is no evidence to back you up except other people's similar memories. It's like if you woke up one day to find you are part of the "Fuzzy Fandom" rather than the "Furry Fandom" and the only evidence of ever being called a furry was a handful of us remembering. I feel like this whole thing is the greatest prank ever and either I'm on a hidden camera show, or perhaps on April 1st everything will go back to normal and someone or something will say "Ha ha! April fools! I got you good!"

There is a Mandela Effect subreddit as well, but you have to sort through a lot of common typos, misquotes, and misconceptions to find anything that might be more convicing for you. There were also a couple youtube videos I found that mentioned other ME's I haven't seen on those sites yet.
I've always been a fan of quantum theories, but experiencing weirdness like this first-hand is a trip. A trip down WTF road. To crazy town. If anyone has a similar experience to what I've had in the last three days, all I can say is just don't freak out, you're not alone. And yeah, okay, the point of this journal is I'm hoping I'm not alone on some of these ME's with you guys.

Note- This is a review of THINX underwear. I'm going to be discussing periods. Feel free to stop reading now if you have no interest in hearing about such things.
Ladies, Transgentlemen, and anyone in between that deals with a period. I wish to spread the word of THINX underwear! They are "period panties" that act as a back-up to your regular feminine hygiene product of choice, or can be worn on their own in place of other products.
I first heard of them when I saw a sponsored article about them in my FB feed. It sounded intriguing, so I looked into it:

So not only do these underwear potentially take the place of ever buying pads again, but they also give 7 reusable cloth pads to a girl in a developing country for every pair of THINX sold to help those girls stay in school. After reading the article and looking at the website, www.shethinx.com , I decided to get a pair and try them out. Here are my impressions of them.
I decided to "stress test" my pair of THINX to see what the limit was. I bought a pair of the black "Hip Hugger" style underwear, which is for heavy days. The style looks very nice, and the quality is lovely, with silky fabric on the outside and cotton on the inside. The website says they hold up to 2 tampons worth, but I had no context for what that meant since I have always used pads. I use Always Infinity overnights, and my period doesn't know the concept of "light" so I had no idea how this was going to go, but I decided to throw caution to the wind on my heaviest day and give my new THINX a run for their money.
I don't know what kind of black magic they infused into this underwear, but the madness never ends!!! They are NEVER going to leak. They are thinner than any pad, absorb faster, stay drier, and they have an antimicrobial layer to kill bacteria, so there's much less scent than you'd have with a pad. I felt like they kept me much cleaner overall than a pad does.
I've seen a few articles while I was researching them that questioned how hygienic THINX really are. In my opinion, it seems logical they're actually MORE hygienic than pads. Pads are lined with plastic on the bottom, which doesn't allow airflow, keeping the contents in a liquid state which makes it easier for bacteria to grow. THINX allows air to flow through all the layers, while still keeping everything in, which allows everything to stay drier. Plus there is the added antimicrobial layer between you and where everything is hidden away. And once again, they absorb better than pads, pulling everything away from you faster. At least that was my experience.
Here's the biggest deal for me about these underwear, and why I wanted to mention them for furries. FURSUITS! I love costumes, fursuiting, and getting dressed up for formal occasions, but if you deal with that time of the month, you know what a hassel it can be to deal with when you want to wear nice clothes that you don't want to mess up, or clothes that can make a pad uncomfortable, or audible, or visible, or clothes you're afraid to get any unpleasant scents on. I have been very lucky that so far my period hasn't landed on a day when I planned to fursuit, or go to the ren faire, or something like that, but I DREADED that day! It will have to come eventually. But now, thanks to THINX, I no longer fear it! I have a very sexy, white, strapless, skin-tight, mini dress. If I ever have plans to wear it for an event, and also am dealing with my period at the same time, you can bet I will be wearing a pair of nude colored THINX underneath that white dress rather than a pad! That is how much I trust these underwear!
Basically, they are, in my opinion, the greatest thing since sliced bread. There have been a few inventions in the last couple of years that made me say "HOLY SHIT WE ARE NOW OFFICIALLY LIVING IN THE FUTURE!" One of those things was the true hoverboard, not the stupid things on wheels that catch fire, but the actual board that hovers above the ground. That thing got me really excited. These underwear make me hoverboad level excited! I was so disappointed when I finally decided to take them off and use a regular pad again. It felt like going back to the dark ages. I will definitely be buying a full set ASAP. While they are not the cheapest thing ever, they are an investment that will save a lot of money in the long run. Plus you can refer friends so you can both get $10 of credit. :3
My only problem with them was I ordered one size too big. I normally get "small," but decided to follow the actual size chart this time. The waist is the right fit, I just don't have the buns to fill out "medium." X3 This didn't cause any significant problems, just made me more aware of them than I would normally be because of the little extra fabric there was. So just go with the size you normally would.
So basically, to sum up, THINX- 10/10, would bleed on again. And again and again. Until menopause. Lol! XD
Feel free to comment or note me with any questions you may have about them. There's nothing you could ask about them that would make me squeamish. Last night I found the band Twenty One Pilots. It's not really the type of music I normally listen to, but something about their songs... I don't know... I just can't stop listening. Lots of good lyrics. I've been in a bit of an odd headspace since
Steeleheart 's memorial a week ago, but last night I drowned my sorrows in music listening to the whole Blurryface album til nearly 6AM and I think I was finally able to vent my emotions.
Is anyone else a TOP fan? It's crazy how much I'm enjoying their songs. Some of them feel so weird to me, the lyrics can hit so close to home I want to cry, but at the same time it makes me wanna dance to the beat! I feel so emo right now, lol! XD
...Actually I first found one of their songs months ago because of an Undertale AMV. >w> Tee hee.

Fursuiting- Real Talk

I was gonna edit my FC'16 meme journal and just put in a quick note about this, but then I figured it was worth making a new journal about, since this is actually a bit serious to me, and I didn't want to just edit in one line laughing off the issue and just being like "oh btw don't do this when I'm in suit lol!"
I may have mentioned this before, but with FC coming up I wanted to say it again. Last year I had three people give me super hard scritches on my adorable foxy face while I was fursuiting, especially the cheeks. They dug their nails in really really hard and scratched for all they were worth because I was "soooooo cuuuuuuute!" My fursuit head has a few small bald patches on the cheeks now from just a couple moments of that. The white fur is somewhat thin, especially where it's been shaved down. So PLEASE, no death scritches on my, or any, fursuits! It's not okay! I don't mind if I'm in fursuit and people want to give me a gentle pat, or pet, or hug, or even gentle scratches, but digging in nails and tearing out fur that won't grow back is damaging something I put a lot of love and time and effort into making. If you ever see anyone doing this to a fursuit, please give them a gentle reminder that it's hurting the costume. The first time it happened to me, I was too polite to tell the guy off for it, and that was on me. The other few times, I didn't even see them coming, they just walked by, gave my face a good hard scratch and kept walking before I or my handler could do anything about it. Seriously unfun.
So please, be gentle on the fursuits, and if you see anyone being overly rough let them know too, unless the suiter is giving them permission.

I was gonna edit my FC'16 meme journal and just put in a quick note about this, but then I figured it was worth making a new journal about, since this is actually a bit serious to me, and I didn't want to just edit in one line laughing off the issue and just being like "oh btw don't do this when I'm in suit lol!"
I may have mentioned this before, but with FC coming up I wanted to say it again. Last year I had three people give me super hard scritches on my adorable foxy face while I was fursuiting, especially the cheeks. They dug their nails in really really hard and scratched for all they were worth because I was "soooooo cuuuuuuute!" My fursuit head has a few small bald patches on the cheeks now from just a couple moments of that. The white fur is somewhat thin, especially where it's been shaved down. So PLEASE, no death scritches on my, or any, fursuits! It's not okay! I don't mind if I'm in fursuit and people want to give me a gentle pat, or pet, or hug, or even gentle scratches, but digging in nails and tearing out fur that won't grow back is damaging something I put a lot of love and time and effort into making. If you ever see anyone doing this to a fursuit, please give them a gentle reminder that it's hurting the costume. The first time it happened to me, I was too polite to tell the guy off for it, and that was on me. The other few times, I didn't even see them coming, they just walked by, gave my face a good hard scratch and kept walking before I or my handler could do anything about it. Seriously unfun.
So please, be gentle on the fursuits, and if you see anyone being overly rough let them know too, unless the suiter is giving them permission.

More fursuiting! Last con I spent the majority of my fursuit time in "backstage" areas, so I want to be able to be out and around the con more this time. Also, I want to take some time to art with people. I feel like art jammin' at con just hasn't been the same since the creator's lounge was moved to that open area instead of having a room. :/
Something else I wanna do is nerd out about Undertale with those who want to nerd out, and not spoil it or talk anyone's ear off about it who DOESN'T want to nerd out about it, lol! I will do my best. Also, if you're a fan of Undertale and you see me at con, I might have some freeby badges that will fill you with determination. I don't know how many I'll be able to make, but I'm going to try to bring as many extras as I can.
Oh, and my BIGGEST goal: staying healthy! I'm getting over something nasty right now, so I wanna make sure I make it to con germ free and stay that way all weekend! *Chugs Emergen-C into infinity!*

Undertale is ruining my life.
Posted 10 years agoAND I REGRET NOTHING!!! XDI may be a little late to the party, but in the last week I completed my neutral and true pacifist run through, watched the genocide run on youtube, questioned the nature of reality, thoroughly buried myself in fan works and theories, and I'm struggling with the moral dilemma of starting a new game. And I'm waiting for Rusty to finish his play through so I don't have to worry about SPOILERZ! Lol. Tonight I've been entertaining myself by making cute little Undertale related do-dads to wear around FC next month. Three weeks from Thursday! W00t!!! XD PARTY TAHEEM!!!

Posted 10 years agoYesterday I finally fixed the neck (or lack thereof) on my fursuit head! Now I won't have my neck show while I'm suiting! YAAAAAY! That's been bothering me all year! Up til now I was finding clever ways to cover up the gap with ribbons or my bandana or whatever worked at the time. Now I can just pop my head on and not worry about it anymore! I feel so accomplished! ^-^ Next I just have to get around to sewing the loop back on the top of my tail. I had to put new stuffing in it recently. Omaigosh you guys, FC is next month and I'm getting hyped. I think I look forward to con more than my birthday or Christmas now, lol.

I'm up all night to wash fursuitOn the plus side it gives me an excuse to fix some parts up that needed fixing when everthing is dry. And to wash the feet and the tail, not just the body and gloves. Not exactly what I had planned for the evening at all, but one thing my fursuit will NEVER -EVER- be is dirty and/or smelly. Or tangled. Fursuit care is important.
I'll take this as a sign that my suit needs to be all clean and fixed up like new for some fun, Halloweeny reason or another. I'll look forward to finding out what that is.

Posted 10 years agoI missed the new Steven Universe today. :/ Now I have to wait til next week to see it, because I don't want to watch a sped up/ slowed down youtube video, or give amazon money for a 12 minute episode, and because cartoon network insists on filling the afternoons with Teen Titans and Clarence except for 30 minutes on thursdays as far as I've seen. Such is life with cartoon shows that have fandoms.
