Birthday Coming Up... o:
General | Posted 11 years agoNot until April 14th tho... I'm turning 21!
I am not a big drinker, but I guess for the first time I will be 21 for con season. Heck. This will be the first year I even attend more than one convention! ^=^' So maybe I will drink at those! Who knows?
Having been in this fandom for about 8 years, and on this site for most of that time, I was really accustomed to being on the much younger side of the spectrum in this fandom—and in general, but who cares about my non-furry life anyway?—but I suppose those days are numbered, if not over already.
21 is still pretty young, but I've come to realize that I have been around this fandom a fair bit longer than most by now, and the percentage of furs I know who are younger than me is going to start growing at some point, isn't it? Maybe. That will be weird.
I was thinking about doing a "year in review" thing, since a lot has happened to me at the age of 20, but I think I'll save it for my actual birthday.
Posting a journal about my birthday over a month in advance probably seems a bit shameless, doesn't it? I have certainly never done it before. I won't ask anyone for anything, especially because I already get more happiness from the people and things on this site than I could ever have dared to hope for! ^=^ However, I figured maybe one or two people might actually WANT to get me something, and I may as well give them the opportunity! ^^'; <3
Most of all, though, thank you to all my friends on this site, and to all the wondeful artists whose work I enjoy. Through a combined and usually indirect and unintentional effort, you guys make my day almost every day. What more could a flop-eared purplish fuzzy want? :3!
Love you,
~Dessy

Old School RuneScape
General | Posted 11 years agoIt's not exactly a great excuse for a sharp decline in activity. Nevertheless, I re-subscribed to it, and that is where my time has been going.
For the record: I don't play RS3, and don't have any intention of doing so at all in the future.
I don't know how long it will hold my attention, but I'll be around on Old School RuneScape, and anyone else who plays that or RuneScape is welcome to add me. My name on there is: Slick
What is Old School RuneScape?
For those of you who don't know, OSRS started out as an official rerelease of RuneScape servers exactly how they were in 2007. There have been a bunch of updates since, but all of them have had to attain approval ratings of 75% or higher on regular player polls before being added to the game. Originally OSRS was members only, but quite recently they launched F2P (Free to Play) servers that you could actually play on for free (you could play on nonmember worlds before but you still had to pay).

Ctrl+F5 (New Icon!)
General | Posted 11 years agoSO I GOT A NEW ICON! :D
I actually got two new icons on the exact same day! There is another one I'm very excited to use, but this one I commissioned (the other was a gift and it's JUST AS CUTE ^///^ <33) from
anchorsaway! I think it turned out really great! I do think it might look a little better/more striking if it had a 1p white border around it, tho... >W< Especially coz I use FA's dark theme.
I really really liked my old icon, but it's nice to have a few different ones that I love! Plus, the last one was very much winter-themed, and Winter is nearly over~ u3u STILL I have to commend
RadioactiveNeon for doing such I great job on my previous icon!
Also this is really random, but I wanna give a shoutout to
askmeaboutloom because he makes me happy like every single day with his awesome banter. He's a great friend (AND has some really cool art y'know) So... Thanks for that! <3

General | Posted 11 years agoI just accidentally deleted 20 or 30 submission comments I hadn't seen yet. ;w;
I imagine less than half were on my own submissions, so finding them manually would be pretty damn hard.
I try to answer comments in roughly chronological order, so I was checking the bottom few that I had looked at so that I could get a handful of older ones on to the page and answer those...but I accidentally hit the "Select All" button while checking the boxes (I'm clumsy with those on my phone.) and had hit remove before I noticed... >.<
Soo... If you left me a comment recently and I don't respond, that's probably why. I imagine a handful of them were just thank you's from artists, but now I will never ever knowww... D:

So I've Been Depressed...
General | Posted 11 years agoAnd I only just realized it. I suppose I hadn't thought about it that way.
I have felt for weeks now that I am never ever relaxed, nor am I capable of relaxing, and just achieving relaxation. Every day after work I experience periods of frustration, and I find myself getting unusually upset about trivial things in my free time—like my internet being unreliable, which, by all means I should be used to by now. I am usually extremely laid back and happy-go-lucky, but I feel like I have frequently been tense and irritable, which scares me. It's just so out of character.
Things that I enjoy have been losing their appeal. Things like FA and Skype correspondence, which are only part of my life because I genuinely enjoy them, have instead become sources of stress. It's silly. I've taken a step back from it all, and decided these are probably all related, and I ought to see what I can do about them.
I thought about it, and decided the cause could be a number of things, or a combination of several. Seasonal depression isn't uncommon. Winter is dark, etc. I don't get a lot of sunshine or exercise as is, though, and haven't for years and year so let's dig deeper. I switched offices a couple months ago, and we never have the light on in my new office. I suppose I should start turning the light on during the day, in light of the fact that the prolonged hours of daily darkness may be having an adverse effect on me. My office mates won't mind I'm sure.
Also, the fact that I have been working fulltime in general could easily be a contributor, especially where stress is concerned. I have only been at it for 4 months now, after all. Waking up early always felt unnatural to me. And I miss being able to stay up like the night owl I naturally am. :c
I think I will try to sleep a little more, get a little exercise with daily walks or the like, and see if I can't improve the light-dark pattern in my life. Wish me luck. :3

Ziggurat and Rogue-like Games!
General | Posted 11 years agoHey there! Today I wanna talk a bit about games!
Those of you who know me better may know that I really love games! The ones I've played the most are probably all listed on my profile. Unfortunately, I've been more the type to play a LOT of a few games I really like rather than a ton of different titles, so I have missed out on a fair number of great ones over the years... u.=.u I wish I had time to play and enjoy them all.
A genre that I really seem to enjoy, though, is rogue-like games! The biggest one for me has been The Binding of Isaac (unless you count Diablo games as rogue-like!), but just recently I tried a game called Ziggurat, and I really like that, too. My main complaints about it are that it's really short, doesn't seem to have much variety in bosses, and...it's First Person, which I really don't prefer--but on the whole I really like it! I have done something like 15 attempts and only beat it twice on Normal, with two different characters (each character seems to be satisfyingly unique in my experience so far). Both times that I won I was feeling really confident. My more recent success I feel like I would have had to not be trying to fail...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/uis6z3vpg.....49%29.jpg?dl=0
Those who know the game might understand why from this screenshot. :3c
I mostly just wanted to share my appreciation for those two titles and the Rogue-like genre of games...but! I was also wondering if there have been any other really amazing rogue-like games floating around that have escaped my notice! Do any of you have recommendations? ^=^'? Please and thank you! <33

Who I Wanna Be When I Grow Up

Her. She's awesome. :3 I somehow doubt anyone here will know who she is. With only that closeup I guess it's even harder to tell, but at least there's a little bit of context.

I think it would be funny if...
General | Posted 11 years agoSomeone made a generic fursona generator. And by "generic" I don't mean generic, but rather "stereotypical."
It could roll to see which of the most popular species you get to be, with a strong bias toward wolves and foxes.
Then, it rolls to see whether you're a generic of the breed or have any of several traits.
Traits could include highlights of a colour—something like "has electric blue [pawpads/tongue/hair/tailtip/nose/penis/whatever]." Other possible traits could be like "Wears a <colour word> [scarf/collar/bandana/ribbon]" or something exciting like having an abnormal penis in some way or being a herm or shemale or cboy.
I promise I'm not actually making fun of anyone. I legitimately think a "typical fursona" randomizer would be hilariously fun, and possibly legitimately useful for generating throwaway characters that look like real fursonas...or even inspiring real fursonas?
What do you think? X3

Relatable Journal
General | Posted 11 years agoI figured today I'd write something for the everyman. Here's a little something we can all relate to!
You know that feeling? You know the one I'm talking about. It's that one where you're really tired and you want to go to sleep really badly...but you can't because you have responsibilities that don't include going to sleep until much later. It's crazy how often sleep and responsibilities seem to be mutually exclusive. What's with that?
Anyway, that's pretty much exactly how I'm feeling right now at work. This is going to be a long day. As much as I may want to, I really hope I don't fall asleep.

Sorry That I Have Been Absent!
General | Posted 11 years agoI would like to apologize for my relative lack of activity on this site and on Skype. I know that I have contact requests on Skype that I have not accepted yet, and I know that I have been giving delayed responses to notes for the most part.
Compared to a few weeks ago, when I was hearing "I see you everywhere" again and again from people on this site, my presence has faded a lot. In spite of that, I'm not actually gone or anything. I'm certainly still posting comments and such. It's just that I have been busy and not as FA-obsessed; I may have burnt myself out a little with all that interaction and meeting so many new people and commissioning so much art all at once.
I still have art to post, and I will do so. I WILL reply to notes, comments, Skype, etc. It's not as if I'm just nuking them: I'm just being slow. ;c
As always, I appreciate those of you who took the time to read this. Thanks. :3

Feeling Better!
General | Posted 11 years agoWas terribly sick yesterday and the night before, but today I'm feeling much better. Last night I was even able to keep down some chicken noodle soup. Hopefully improvements will persist! :3
Avatars Are Important!
General | Posted 11 years agoI find myself disinclined to visit the page of anyone who does not have an icon/avatar, because it feels like half of the time I get there and they are some sort of anonymous user who doesn't talk to anyone anyway... :c
So. If you don't have an icon, but are not averse to receiving the attention of people like myself, please get an avatar. Even if you don't have any art to use, at least have one that reflects an interest of yours in some way. It can be a good conversation starter. It also helps if you have a little blurb about yourself on your profile, and fill out the fields about things you like, but...at least have an icon I can see. It's the first impression people get of you on this site, so give it a little thought. D:

/人◕‿‿◕人\ Contract?
General | Posted 11 years agoI want you to form a contract with me.
Sorry if I haven't spoken to you!
General | Posted 11 years agoSooo...I TRY to at least say hello or something with a shout to everyone who watches me. No I don't mean "Thanks for the +1 watch!" I usually wanna know why people decided to watch me, where they found me--or sometimes their profile, gallery or favourites sparks some other sort of question or comment!
But lately I've gotten a little behind. There are a bunch of watchers whose pages I haven't even visited, and I'm sorry but I don't have time to go look at all of them and get caught up, so I'ma nuke 'em. ;w; If you leave a conversational comment or shout on my page, commissions, or journals, though, I will be happy to chat some! :3
Here's hoping I see you guys around!

Friends For Dinner~
General | Posted 11 years agoWishlist~
General | Posted 11 years agoThis is really last minute. It's probably too late to really get me anything...but I did that on purpose. >//o; My entire life I have always been very apprehensive about asking anyone for anything else ever. I'm not sure why, but doing so really takes a lot out of me, and I have to talk myself into asking. It never does any harm, right?
Anyway... Dessy is NOT a materialistic person. There are very few physical things in this world that I know I would like to own. Mostly they are just a car, a laptop, a fursuit, and a house--in approximately that order. I would never dream of really asking anyone to buy or contribute to me buying those things. x.=.x;
So really, the only gift to give Dessy for the holidays, or his birthday, is art. ^=^'; And traditionally, in case people still don't know, Dessy does not appear in images with characters that represent other people... x: For now. So...I don't want any of that. Probably.

Too Much!
General | Posted 11 years agoI've been checking FA wayyy too much. Most people who have been around me in person any time recently know this. I always have it up on my phone...but it's getting to be a bit excessive. I need to work on only checking it once every thirty minutes tops or something unless I know I'm in the middle of a coversation or something. Blegh. >w<
I love you guys. X3 Maybe just a little bit too much. <3

Huh...
General | Posted 11 years agoJust noticed I'll probably hit 10k pageviews in the next 24 hours or whatever. Should I do a thing?
I guess I mostly don't care. I'm not really shooting for watches or page views... :/ And I'm not an artist.
It's just another number, anyway. 9,999 is more exciting. 9's are great. Just look how much you have if you add up all those digits compared to 10,000. But that's just me being a dork.
The REAL point of this is... A fair few people are watching my page and such now. You people. Most of them probably don't read my journals, but let me check in with those of you that do:
What would you like to see me post, as a watcher of this account? Anything specific? More of the same with me just commissioning artists I like willy nilly to draw vore and yiffy pinups and cute things?
I have other fetishes besides vore. Hopefully my gallery will show that at some point.

There are so many people who just...aren't here. FA is feeling a bit like a ghost town. It makes me wish even more that I could just be at all the fun conventions! ;w;
Anyone else getting that feeling?

Hnngh I officially don't have the budget for this right now myself, but anyone who does probably won't want to miss this opportunity, methinks. >3<
Hmm. I've done a couple shout outs now. I'll try to make a point to shout out for someone who doesn't actually have a bunch of watchers next time maybe. o3o
There are some really talented people out there that dont get the attention they deserve! Keep your eyes open people!

8 Slots Open From An Amazing Artist!
General | Posted 11 years ago
locosaltinc is this really awesome artist who has opened up more slots than initially anticipated on account of trying very hard to fund a move! Partly due to the notification mishaps, there are still several slots of various types left to claimed! If you're looking for a very talented artist to draw something pretty, I think now might be a good chance for you~ :3!
Go check it out!

Not sure how much attention I'll be able to garner with a journal like this, since I don't have some crazy number of watchers and a lot of people don't even read journals, but I figured it couldn't hurt! Besides, I thought it would be cool to share an artist I really appreciate with you, my friends and watchers~<3
