I know a lot of the reasoning for this is that a lot of the stuff I have submitted recently isn't furry stuff and my submissions have been really far apart but still idk it'd be cool to get some feedback every now and then?

so two days ago I attended my first convention, a small, local, general-geekery multi-genre kind of lil thing that was kind of excellent and I've made my goal for next year to acquire a table in the artist alley. this was the con's first year, but they're pretty much guaranteed it's gonna be a regular thing. I saw a few furry artists there, and while I'm trying to get away from drawing like...strictly furry art, I'm kind of curious -- what kind of stuff do you guys buy at cons?

my plans are basically like this okay

I wanna get a shitton of prints, about half original and half fanart (and for fanart I wanna do some pretty specific shit, because I noticed that most of the fanart prints at the con were anime and couple marvel/dc but mostly anime so I want to do some scifi and fantasy stuff mostly) in varying sizes (mostly small but a few large as well), buttons and stickers for different fandoms, and then I want to have sketch commissions going at the same time (I'm thinking 3$ for a headshot, 5$ for full body?).

So yes please tell me what kind of stuff you buy and whether or not I have decent plans I guess, haha.

was yesterday, but I didn't post a journal because I was busy doing things. I stayed home from school because I had to work and one of my two classes was cancelled, figured I could afford to miss a day so I emailed my prof and told him I was sick and yeAH. Spent the whole day watching TV and cleaning the cat litter and walking the dogs and going to the community mailbox to get gifts yes.

was a quiet day, but it was alright. made myself perogies for dinner and then burnt my tongue on them. badly.

lesson learned: no matter how delicious the food may be, one should always wait until it has cooled slightly, particularly if the food in question was fried and contains a very hot potato filling, yes.

most of the stuff I got was fairly practical -- work clothes, gift cards, a new bag for travelling because holy shit my old one is so beaten up lmao. darkest-desire bought me a Doctor Who comic from the 1980s and a Torchwood mug because she's awesome yesss.

AND THEN I HAD TO WORK whic hI was kinda annoyed about because who the fuck wants to work on their 19th birthday when they live in Canada (and thus are legally old enough to drink??). But my birthday is on halloween so DRESS UP TIME AW YE. For those who haven't got me on facebook/seen the photos from the party or talked to me about it, my project this year for my friend's halloween party was to dress as Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who and I went all out and I got to wear it again to work eheHEHE. I figured no one would recognize me, but a tiny part of me hoped someone would because it would make my day (which had taken a turn for the worse once I had to go to work and wasn't working with a lot of people I knew well and was on a long till and ugh ugh ugh), and let me tell you about all the fucking times I was recognized.

I had a good five or six people recognize who I was dressed as, a lot of people who had no idea but told me it was a really cool costume, and then the best goddamn thing ever happened to me.

Our Walmart has a McDonalds in it, and a girl (followed by about five of her friends) walked out of it. My till was right by this McDonalds, I had just served a customer and was just kinda sittin' around being bored, and she comes out and I just happened to make eye contact with her, just by chance.

She stared at me for a second, her jaw dropped, she spazzed her arms out like wild and yelled to her friends "OH MY GOD, IT'S THE DOCTOR!! GUYS, IT'S THE DOCTOR!!" and thus, my night was made. her friends came over and told me that my costume was really great, the girl who initially noticed me told me I made her night, and one of her friends said, and I quote, "This is what I live for." Never really done cosplay or anything before because I live kind of out of the way and don't get to go to conventions because no one I know wants to drive that far/spend that much money, so idk it was really exciting and mademe really happy and pretty much put me in a good mood for the rest of the night (which has carried over to today now, haha).

THAT IS MY STORY, and uh yeah. oh, my eye is still a wee bit nasty -- just a tiny little rim of red around one half of the iris tho, not the whole thing anymore.

I'll probably end up doing whatever I want, as per usual, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyways -- this summer, what would you guys like to see from me? I mean obviously I wanna finish up trades and commissions and so on, and in addition to that I'd like to try to upload more in general and I'd like to try to do more human art...and maybe an art challenge or something? I'm not sure, just something to get me back into art because I've kind of sucked this past year haha. Additionally, I'd like to try to finish as many reference sheets as is humanely possible. Oh, and work on stuff for my kennel rpg/adoptables account (wanderlust-kennels on deviantart for those of you who are curious, used to be AzzysKennel).

Any thoughts on additional things you guys might want to see?
