Posted 9 years agoAh man, I am so excited. And scared shitless. But excited, let's focus on that. As well as moving closer & closer to the big push to moving to America full-time, I'm also close to releasing the beginning of the story I've been developing for 10 years. While I do feel bad I've not shared as much of the development work as I could, I just wanted to put my head down & get stuck in with actually producing it. While the details are in flux right now, I am sticking to a Halloween release date for this project to go live. Does that mean I'm going to have all 20 pages of issue 1 finished? PFT, nope not by a long shot. As I've been discussing on the Lunar Blaze Patreon feed, (https://www.patreon.com/lunarblazestudios) I will be sharing the first 5 or so pages on Halloween for free on my various galleries, & will be releasing the following pages in a staggered release similar to Cinderfrost or other long form comics on the Patreon feed first, then my own website (still in development) before sharing them elsewhere.
I don't want to put anything behind a paywall, so the comic itself will eventually be out there for free. However if you want to support an immigrant in progress work on a 6-7 issue (120-140 full-color pages approx) Graphic Novel by himself & not either starve or be trapped in Walmart for eternity, then your $2 is going to be DAMN helpful in getting this out there. My dream scenario is actually being able to afford hiring a few others to help make the comic a little quicker, lord knows you don't want to know what I'm willing to do right now to get someone else doing my Flats XD. But regardless, EVERYONE is getting the First issue for FREE. EVENTUALLY. You want it before anyone else, Patreon is your friend & mine, & while Halloween is still a ways off I actually have the first 2 pages rendered out & up there right now!

Posted 9 years agoHey kids, well as we all know F.A. has had a few... hiccups the past few weeks, & quite alot of people have been frustrated with the whole thing. I myself started to panic as for some pieces FA is the only place they exist, & if this go's I loose some of my older art for good. Ah yes, Furry Network. Man this place has had alot of talk about it recently. Honestly as someone who was trained in design I gotta say their layout is pretty obtuse & tricky to understand but I'm willing to at least give them a chance, they do get points for letting me mass upload my ENTIRE gallery in one drag-drop. Of course entering all my info again for each piece is pretty time consuming but such is life.

Its kinda sad my most viewed work is the one I'm not pursuing as much. Call it bots or an insane amount of traffic, idk which but the amount of views my adult work got on here was pretty awesome for a guy like me. While I do have a full workload with the comic im producing (Heirs to the Throne) I would love to get back into drawing smut like this. (pity my last pic there sucks balls XD)

Alive, Busy, Stressed but ok
Posted 9 years agoWell, its been an interesting few months. I think I went through 2 major social circle breakups, maybe 3 artistic burnouts, a huge anxiety and stress fuelled xmas and thats not even going into my constant paranoia and anxiety over raising the funds to move to America. But yeah... kinda not been posting for a while here so sorry about that.
So, First things first, as you have spotted Im starting to update my gallery with content from the Graphic Novel project Im working on with my Lunar Blaze partner Ajahli. The script for issue 1 has finally been wrapped up, all the location and character design has been finalised save for 1 character. Now we can just knuckle down and start production of the actual comic pages. This is of course going to be time consuming so chances are there wont be a huge amount of pinups or other content being shared in the meantime. That doesn't mean these galleries are going to be dead, if anything we should have at least SOMETHING on a weekly basis to share (more if anyone wants to commission us).
However, EVERYTHING we work on will be put up on our joint Patreon which we are bringing back to life. Mainly its work in progress comic pages & character design stuff as the story progresses, but we do promise that the comic itself when finished will NOT be hidden behind a paywall. We have every intention on releasing each page on a regular update schedule once we have enough of them to where its not going to be a nightmare for us to catch up etc.
Also Im back to posting on Inkbunny, mainly because I figured that if Im throwing art into the empty yawning abyss of Weasyl https://www.weasyl.com/~devillo as well as FA, then I may as well add a site I know has an active userbase. Yes some of the art isn't really to my taste but if I can ignore some of the other content on places like FA that I don't agree with, I can do the same with IB. I think thats pretty much it for now. Ive got a stressful week ahead of me after being roped into a Star Wars themed dance off at work where I ended up spending over £150 on a costume, and where Im the only non trained dancer/actor on stage, so your damn right I got a character with a mask. Also I plan sometime late may on shaving my head & getting rid of my ponytail for a kids charity, still unsure as to which one but Make a Wish is looking good. Lastly the Embassy have been sent my request for a visa to marry Ajahli so thats going to be a few months of me stressing out about money & junk, so thats moving along at least. Anyone who wants to commission me after next week would be greatly appreciated. Oh and no, not seen Zootopia/Zootropolis etc but everything Ive heard is gold. Well, I gotta go see if this version of the Kylo Ren costume is actually going to let me lift my arms enough to do a Night Fever pose. Adios kids.

Researching Bojack
Posted 10 years agoSo I finally took the time to catch up on the huge backlog of TV shows Ive been meaning to check out for the past few years, & one of them includes Bojack Horseman on Netflix. Im honestly surprised I'm not seeing much fanart of the show, aside from the obvious anthropomorphic animals things its a sharply written bit of cynical fun, taking a look at the hollow empty void that comes when people get what they want & have no idea what to do next. Honestly, I know that sounds pretentious (probably, I'm British afterall) but the show honestly took me surprise. While at first I thought the art style was a little bit sketchy/indy for my tastes Ive grown used to it pretty quickly & now I tend to care more about the characters & the fairly engaging story of a washed up actor trying to make himself feel relevant almost 30 years after he peaked.
Plus while Ive been working on my own project Heirs to the throne, I love how they have made subtle moments with the different anthropomorphic races doing things no human could or would do. Penguins running a publishing house & dogs always attacking Mail Men is one thing, but Having Pigeons outside a restaurant fly away at a loud noise after queuing outside for a table, having Dogs talk about how much they obsess over chocolate in the mall despite knowing it 'Literally' kills them, Maggots running funeral parlours, thats my kinda world building & something Im trying to add to my own world. For example, in Kindling (the City where Heirs takes place) all upstairs windows & doors on roofs are as heavy duty as ground floor ones due to birds & other flying creatures being a thing. Plus CSI teams usually consist of at least one Ape or Marsupial because they can get into much harder to reach areas than other races, etc etc. Anyways, I just wanted to drop by & say yes Im watching alot of TV recently, but its honestly all for research purposes & not because Im constantly awake at night in total dread that Im a complete failure as an artist & a creator. Honest!
(Again, trying to be funny & not really doing too bad atm, but apparently thats been coming off as a bit mean spirited to some folk recently. Maybe I need to not watch shows on cynical burned out individuals, but thing is, I love em too much)
Anyways, going to try & put my head down & get to work on the new Script for the comic, its been feeling like a year since I did any actual writing for the project & I would love to have an actual finished draft for at least the first issue by the end of the year. Times gonna tell on that one. Anyways kids, stay awesome & I will do my best to have something interesting for Y'all soon. (Thats a southern thing, because Im moving to Tennessee. Did you get it?)

Way better things ahead
Posted 10 years agoHey kids, just wanted to scrub that pretty negative journal off the feed. Things are way better now than what they were a few days back, a co worker was very kind to loan me enough cash for my weekly transport costs & since I have enough food back at my place Its no issue at all to bring a packed lunch into work, so yeah, this poor frail 31 year old survived 2 days with no access to money. Oh what a thrilling tale of endurance against overwhelming odds!
Yeah... I really need to get over myself at times. Any darn way, GOOD THINGS! One of my regular clients from the past few years has been working on another Youtube series involving Onepiece so Ive been doing a few illustrations based on those characters, (link here http://zenithwillrule.tumblr.com/po.....y-of-one-piece ) also had a character sheet from

Posted 10 years agoLol, so the past few weeks have been, well not awesome by and large. While I have had some good things go down, namely a few very welcome commissions from some old clients, Ive had all kinds of drama & bullshit to deal with. My best friend lost her Father way too early to cancer recently, & in between the funeral & taking time to see her Ive been having more & more stressful bullshit with my home life. I don't like to discuss the super personal stuff but lets just say Im actually leaving this country for a variety of reasons. The best thing however happened today, my damn bank card got snapped in two, by my own dumbass no less, so now I need to panic trying to find a way to make about £4/£5 last around 3-5 working days to cover my travel & food costs. So yeah, did want to write a journal saying how awesome all the people who have commissioned me recently are (btw, you really really are) but yeah, kinda having a mini breakdown or more likely a petty Man-Period. IDK, times going to tell. Gotta laugh at the fact that Im actually surviving in terms of cash input, its just ironically IMPOSSIBLE to access said cash. Life, life sure is a funny old thing ain't it?
Anyway, I have at least SOMEthing I can translate into lunch/breakfast tomorrow so as long as I can cover transport to work I should be ok. btw Im not begging for donations etc as I have no way of accessing em anyway, lol. Id like to end on something funny, so here we go:

Posted 10 years agoHey gang, so while Im super appreciative of all the new followers Ive been getting recently I wanted to explain my lack of updates the past week or so. Since FWA in April myself & reaperking have been working on promoting our Patreon with regular uploads, in an attempt to build hype for our main projects Heirs to the Throne (A Black Comedy Furry Noir) & Half Blood (A Fantasy adventure with Tieflings). Of course trying to push the subscription of Patreon hasn't yielded the results we would have liked. So while we are going to keep it up there, our focus is moving to producing quality work at our own pace rather than rushing to meet a deadline of at least 2 pieces a week with a 7 day buffer with the art appearing on Patreon first.
Basically we have both been stressing out for a while now since we are both pretty desperate (as Im sure everyone is) to drop our day jobs & produce art for a living as a couple. The truth is thats going to take a while. But hey, we are up for it! The whole Immigration thing is of course another MASSIVE thing thats been weighing on my mind recently. Personally Ive just been panicking trying to find any way to generate cash quick so I have at least something to help pay the bills/build a life for myself & reaperking when I move to America. I wont lie, its been pretty stressful, but lets be honest, one should NEVER try & make business decisions when panicking or under pressure.
Also while most of our work has been focused on just concept art for our projects, Ive been personally missing drawing NSFW art for a while now. So now that the major characters/intro to Heirs has been made, Im also going to be peppering in some of my other content, Fanart, Tentacle/Monster smut, the usual. Also as always if your a fan of either of our styles & want to commission us we are more than happy to work with you on making something special for ya. If theres anything your interested in, please dont hesitate to contact us, & big thanks to the people who I have worked for over the past few weeks, your work is ALWAYS appreciated.

Posted 10 years agoHey guys, just to let you know I have finally gotten my head around the new commissions tab (or at least I think I have XD) & I've updated my prices with examples of each different service I offer (save for graphic design stuff, may have to upload something into scraps as an example).
As it stands I'm still trying to catch up to a £40 deficit a week due to loosing hours in my day job. This particular week has been taken care of thanks to you guys but aside from one more private commission My que is all caught up. Hello New People!
Posted 10 years agoHey guys, first of all I wanted to say thanks to all the new watchers who have recently stumbled across my gallery. Welcome, hope you enjoy what you see here in the next few weeks. Since theres so many new folk I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on what exactly Im working on right now. Both my partner reaperking & I run a small studio called Lunar Blaze, its basically an umbrella name for all our disparate individual projects.
One of our main focuses right now is the production of an art/concept book featuring characters of mine from a story we are working on called Heirs to the Throne. While we are still working on that main story, the focus right now is on the concept art, & releasing a book collecting not only our work but that of other artists. Everything is still in the earl;y phases but so far the results have been very promising, & we are doing our best to keep things moving & updated on a regular basis despite us both working full time jobs and currently living in different countries.
To describe the theme & mood of the book, imagine a Black Comedy noir with Furrys. Thats Heirs to the Throne in a nutshell. reaperking & I run a small studio called Lunar Blaze, its basically an umbrella name for all our disparate individual projects. One of our main focuses right now is the production of an art/concept book featuring characters of mine from a story we are working on called Heirs to the Throne. Posted 10 years agoHey guys just a quick update on where things are atm with the long form comic project myself & reaperking is at. I have just spent the past month re-writing the overall plot synopsis & story bible for Heirs to the Throne, its been a LOT of work but this beast of a project is actually looking like it may get started one day! lol, seriously though I have literally just finished the crafting of a 3-D model of the entire town where the story takes place, all thanks to the awesome Cities : Skylines game over on steam. I spent the whole week crafting the landscape, structuring the streets & mapping out all the key locations for Devillo & his twisted family to play around in. The initial reference shots look great & the fact that I now have a fully 3-D copy of the setting for the story has been really helpful in the further design/plotting stage.
But enough of the town for now, I'm planning on commissioning a few artists in the next month or so to do some work featuring the main characters from Heirs to the Throne. Got a short list atm but if anyone's interested in doing something drop me a line & we can talk. It go's without saying (despite the fact that I'm saying it now) that I am still going to be doing PLENTY of artwork for the comic alongside reaperking the commissions are mainly because I've frankly wanted to do it for years & its only in recent times that I've had the opportunity to do it! Anyways, lots of cool stuff on the way soon, & if you thought I had simply abandoned those 4 armed adoptable alien dudes, rest assured we still have plans for them! *maniacal laugh* Later kids!

Posted 10 years agoWhat I REALLY want to try & do is get more "design" based work under my belt before Memphis. Illustration gigs would be nice however. I am seriously low on logo design, print layouts, all the stuff I trained for 4 years+ I honestly feel like I wasted a Degree some days, plus having a diverse portfolio is always better than being yet another dude that does fan art.
The thing I miss the most about design jobs? Solving problems. Design is about making something work, not just looking nice. No other job had me thinking or using my brain as much, & the fear I may have lost that part of my brain over time kills me.
While me & itsajahli are hard at work GENERATING cash for me to move to Memphis, Im still considering spending more to update my portfolio. For example, Im currently subscribed to the latest Indesign so I can self teach/work on print based projects. I may pick up a few others like Illustrator, Flash etc. Thing is, I have NOTHING to do. I have no Brief. I have ALWAYS done better when working with or for others. While lunarblazecrew is still a thing Im leading, sad truth is its way easier to be told what to do than figuring it out yourself so the idea of me spending even MORE money thats going to be hard to replace when Im looking for a job in a new country is scary as fuck.
Not as scary as me trying to get a job with the degree I have & skills that are as woefully out of date as mine. Im 31 years old, when I move thats pretty much going to wipe out everything I have & give me a blank slate. I NEED to get my shit together. So yeah, Im worried, but mainly I just want to be able to get my life & my career back on track. But flying solo I just see the blank canvas, that white island, the void before creation, & I have no idea where to begin. Which is sad as fuck for a 31 year old "professional" to admit. *shrug* Apologies for the spam, just needed to share. Im not being negative, just trying to organise myself & get a bead on fixing my career.
