Im thinking about either adjusting or just plain removing the dark fur from Kimber's (my female OC) muzzle. It's a G.Shepherds signature fur pattern but it makes her mouth hard to see. What do ya'll think?

Posted 3 years agoSorry for the near-month of radio silence here. As much as I hate the site, I've been way more active on Twitter and even getting a lot more momentum/traction there. Posted some arts I got for my birthday (on the 4th) and some rewards from BioTari.
had a lot going on irl this month. Mostly small stuff but this past week has been full of medical stuff for my mother. She's doing good now, but yeah, it's been hectic to say the least. I still intend to be active here. Still taking and doing comms, just the last couple orders have been pretty big. But getting there slowly but surely.

Clearing some confusion
Posted 4 years agoIt came to my attention my titling scheme for the longest time might have been misleading people to thinking a lot of the works posted are drawn by me. While I do post my own art (commissions open btw) I do have everything I post foldered and categorized. Just be sure if you're looking to either comm me or are following for a specific art style. Be sure to note what art is mine, and what's stuff I commissioned from other artists.

Posted 4 years agoFA really needs a way to upload at least 5-10 pictures at once. I got started at like 7:20 and finished at 8:33 to post 8 pictures! Am I just slow or..?
Struggling
Posted 5 years agoSo I know "Artist with mental issues" is pretty much a nauseum of a norm these days. But it's getting to a point I can't keep pretending nothing is wrong.
I have a fear I might be developing Manic Depression. Haven't been properly diagnosed and likely never will cause because family drama would ensure. But as more time goes on I've been fitting the bill for symptoms more and more. I have day and weeks where I'm so filled with seemingly cocaine filled energy that I feel I could take apart a car and put it together in 3 hours, do a 10 mile run across my city, have a MMA match with a brown bear and win. and so on. Then in a moments notice I have to so little energy for anything that I spend 16+ hours in bed. I don't eat hardly anything. And often I take such and emotional self-beating that ending it all sounds ever-more tempting. There's no "middle".
Sometimes I can trigger the good feeling to come back. Maybe splurge a little. Buy a commission, drive somewhere (not that available anymore cause covid) or watch a good movie or show. But just as easily, any bad thing triggers the bad feelings. Ask where my non-existent career is going. Another hobby getting caned because of outside powers, car broke something again, Gained 3 pounds. stubbed my toe. Anything.
I'm scared cause I'm afraid I going to hit such a low I may actually talk myself into doing something stupid. I can't enjoy the highs anymore cause I basically spend them trying to "prepare" for the down. Quite the literal freaking rollercoaster.

Posted 5 years agoLong short I don't really know. I know any active watchers of mine are getting whiplash from drawing wholesome pics like the birthday pokemons and goofy duck, to drawing gals in precarious situations .
Tbh, I don't know what I'm aiming for, if anything at all.

I guess put simply, I'll draw what you wanna pay me to draw, and I'll draw what I simply feel like drawing.

Recognize your personal growth no matter how small
Posted 5 years agoSomething that used to Always be a huge demotivater for me was when I'd be drawing something and I'd see an artist draw/upload that EXACT thing as I'm working on. And I'd be like "Wow that's so much better then this will ever be." Then I'd give up and quit art for another year.
Right now. I'm drawing a Midnight Lycanroc girl. And suddenly I've seen like 3 other ones get posted on E6 and another on FA. ALL by good artist.
But..
For the first time ever. After really sitting down to learn the skill without giving up.
I like my drawing better
It may be another lewd poke-morph drawing to throw into the decades old, over saturated, not really original idea. But you know what! I like how I draw the body proportions better. I like how I did the hair better. I like the pose better. I like the facial expression better.
Are there artist that can replicate it and do 100x better? Hell yes!
But! There's also artists who've been drawing for years that aren't near my mediocre skill level.
I'm no professional Leonardo Da' Vinci Jr. But I'm getting better with each stroke of my pen. And I'm proud of that.

Furry Life Online first impressions.
Posted 5 years agoTl;DR, Tons of potential to officially put FA in the grave. But needs A LOT of polish and QoL changes and additions.
Pros:
- You can change your Username without have to make a new account (already a valid reason to move)
- Nice new and more user friendly UI. Stuff is easy enough to find and it's a simple enough to learn to navigate. Not as simple and to the point as FA witch is a bit of a con but just browse the place for like an hours and it'll make sense of itself.
- More organised. Like.. WAY more organised. I like the album system. Makes sorting stuff really easy and easy to find. Im my case I sorted my commissions, art, and commissioned art.
- More easily accessed variety of content. Art, Music, Streams, and Writing is all right there and categorized.
- Supports video, gif, and art with no issue, even previews gifs as you scroll past them.
- Tag system is straight forward and makes finding specific things way easier.
- A BLACKLIST. Finally I can search stuff and not run into pages of dirty diapers and shit-n'-piss porn.
- Slightly more customization Profile. It's about on par with FA.
- Club System. Basically you can have little "clans" or "Groups". Not sure if I'll dab in that personally but it's there for folks.
- Forums ready and integrated into site and not separate.
- Authenticator and 2 Factor login available.
Cons:
- Quite a bit of set-up required.
- Home page a bit of a cluttered mess. First look into it I barely had a clue what I was looking at and where anything was. Stuff is just kinda strewn all over the place.
- Need more "quick actions". As I was making albums. I found it's a bit of an annoying 6 step process to delete an album or make a new one. Got tedious real fast.
- Needs a profile tagging system. Something akin to how we put :iconName , there's (as far as I know and seen) no way to quick link other people beside posting a plain link.
- Links and URLs don't work in the Credit section of uploads.
- No real explanation or point to the Credit and Copyright section when you can just add that in the description like we do here.
- No social link tab in profile. A nit-pick but social links need to be put somewhere in the About Me section.
- No NSFW feral art. While a niche thing for me personally, that is a wide category that I know will be turn off for a lot of folks.
- Browsing through the Home>Gallery Page is a bit.. weird? Having to go through recent Album updates to eventually get to separate recently added individual images just seems like an odd design.
Overall.
It's very hit or miss. I like the organization of it all and has various features and QoL stuff that FA's been desperately needing for a LOOOoong time. I can't test everything right away cause I have no followers there (even here I'm posting to 19 watchers non of witch will like read this) SO naturally until certain things happen I can't give a full review/thoughts. Honestly I think it just needs more QoL additions to make certain tasks less tedious. This very well can also just be [FA is dead moving to insert site then comes back to FA a month later] part 23. So we'll see what happens.
