Interesting concept, obviously. At the core genuine relationships have to be built on honesty; at least something real, to actually be genuine.

Online relationships are rarely genuine consequently because they're generally born from the fake; a fandom, based on imaginary physical representations and the non-authentic personality people take-on online.

Of course this isn't a rule of finality. It depends on the people involved in every case. A percentage of people who enter into an online relationship have, or at least develope a real attachment to the person behind the 'game' they're interracting with, a small percentage even enter into an online relationship with immature but genuine feelings already developing.

This is where online relationships become the most interesting personal social mechanic. Because they universally perservere under three forms;

The online relationship transcends the internet, the contact-medium becomes simply that; a medium, the people shed their online persona in favor of interracting directly with one another genuinely, like on the telephone, simply through text. These evolve over time into voice and video chats where there is nowhere to hide and if the people's feelings truly are genuine, this reaffirmation only leads to one person moving to the other, and final step being achieved; the two people now live together, or near each other, and their real relationship continues no-longer dependant on that original medium.

For a far greater percentage, though, the transcendance fails. Partial increases in the genuine aspects of the relationship develop. Photos may be exchanged, voice-communication employed, maybe even webcam use coming into sporadic service. But the relationship is inherently bound to the medium it began on; the internet. The two people (or as more often the case, just one of them) have strong but ingenuine feelings for one another. This is often the case where the two people are openly together and comitted, but in reality one or both will have habbits of avoiding the other sporadically, opting away from frequent interraction to focus sporadically on other people. Usually one or both of these people have a psuedo-relationship with another person, or person(s) as the case may be. These are the online relationships that still have a chance to become real but in all reality, probably never will, unless on or both involved in it shed the selfish and dishonest aspects of their behavior to show the other they're ready to progress.

The third and more tragic form of online relationship is the one that never grows or evolves from the most basic start. It is a relationship born in an imaginary world in which both people in it interreact with one-another through imaginary personalities. They fabricate more complex false-identities to reveal to one another to further pretend what they have is meaningful and genuine but neither is serious. One or both people in these relationships are usually involved in frequent if not semi-frequent cyber-sex with other people and though they'll deny it indignantly are always looking for someone more easily manipulated and conthrived to fulfil their selfish needs.

Comparitively speaking; the first type of online relationship is considerably rare. The second type is quite common, but not nearly as proliferant as the third type; which the vast majority of the furry community participates in.

Why do I bring all this up? Not to take a shot at the furry community. But to share a perspective that I was ignorant to before I broke away from the majority of the fandom.

My meager advice is this; if you're in a relationship that began in, grew from, or intergrated into the furry fandom, read through this, and carefully consider what type of online-relationship you're in. If you're in the first type, you have only more reason to be proud of what you have. If you're in the second type, you need to acknowledge whether or not you're the one (if its not that both of you are) that behave in the way that keeps it from becoming the first type. And for god's sake, if you're in the third type, acknowledge it, and get past it, for your own sake most of all.

And to all those who see fit to vomit immature commentary at me for saying all this, I say simply this; the internet may be an annonymous playground where you get to insult and belittle others for the sake of your own fragile and fleeting ego, to you, but most people see it as a social interraction medium. And at the end of the day, I don't really care what some weak, fragile little person hiding behind their computer to take shots at people they wouldn't have the balls to even speak to in person thinks.

To those of you with the maturity and intellectual capacity to read this for what it is, I hope I've shared this perspective effectively.

If you haven't noticed I've been pretty crazily inactive for quite some time. I'd make a joke about being absorbed in WoW, but the truth is, I haven't. I didn't accidentally forget about furrydom and all this, I just..*shrugs* my interest has faded. Not diminished entirely, just reduced significantly.

Kaisura muscle is remarkably dense; it also has a remarkably high output. Though it's not QUITE fair to say Kaisura are incredibly strong, it would be more accurate to say that the strength of their muscles is not proportionate to their body. For example, a five foot tall Kaisura's muscles are more on par with a 12 foot minotaur.

nb: it's not all about the arm-wrestles. People tend to think of 'muscle power' as 'oh look, I can lift a car'. This is retarded. Muscle power applies to all aspects of that muscles' use. Very powerful muscles don't just make you strong, they make you fast, agile, able to jump higher and further, support your own weight through climbing and hanging with an exponentially increasing amount of ease.

It started when I woke up. Now, generally, when you wake up, you don't expect to find red-hot glowing metal within ten feet of your bed, right?

Well, I did. I don't know what the hell happened to it, but I woke up this morning to discover the hard-drive in my linux box was literally glowing red-hot across the top. Freaky shit, yo.

So I ripped out of bed, yanked the power, and pulled the drive-drawer out. Ran outside and dumped the drive before it started a fire or some shit (god knows how it hadn't already). Except it was 4 bloody degrees out there. So I say to you, FUCK SCIENCE, especially the parts relating to "thermal reactions".

Put simply, upon hitting the cold-ass air/ground/atmosphere, the drive promptly 'exploded', so I had to dodge shrapnel as well, to top off the whole fuckered event.

On latter inspection, a large amount of the faceplate of the lower-half of the mini-tower case, and the faceplate of the CD rom that was above the drive, as well as numerous cable-casings inside the box, are melted quite badly.

I don't know quite how bad the damage to the system itself is beyond the loss of it's hard-drive and the data thereon. But man, that was one fucked up first 10 minutes of the morning.


Anyway, just for later-notage, I'm perfectly fine. I didn't get hurt; no fire started, and I managed to not get hit by bits of the drive when it popped. I was just freaked the hell out, and wondering if I should even bother trying to resurrect the box and find out how damaged it might be otherwise, or just junk it and be done with it.

My poor linux box. Ye shall be missed.

This is a small collection of questions I've been asked numerous times about my fursona. All of these I've been asked at least a few times; some of them quite a lot. Either way, here some questions get answered.


1. Q: If Dev has three tongues, how does shi speak? [or any other conventionally single-tongue action]

1. A: Dev has three tongues - shi also has no gag reflex and a completely different throat structure. Put simply, shi, like all Kaisura with the mutation, has perfected a technique of "swallowing" two of hir tongues whenever shi wants to talk, or simply doesn't want to have three tongues in hir mouth at the given moment.

2. Q: Why does Dev have two cocks?

2. A: Because I wanted the option. You may not have noticed, but shi appears with only one cock showing just as often as shi appears with both showing. Just because shi has two doesn't mean shi always uses/displays two; but the option is always there in case.

3. Q: What are those green things on Dev's head?

3. A: Horns. [yes, people really ask this.]

4. Q: What colour are Dev's eyes?

4. A: Blue and silver. Not a SINGLE colour, not a colour EACH. Dev's eyes consist of a blue iris with a narrow, triangular silver pupil.

5. Q: What's with the black in the eyes? [aka: omg, renamon ripoff!]

5. A: First of all, go get some anime education; it's an OLD idea, Renamon was NOT the first character to use it. Not even CLOSE. Second, it's just an aesthetic detail. It's there because I think it looks good. Period.

6. Q: Why are pics using Dev's tentacles so rare?

6. A: It's remarkably difficult. Random Tentacle porn is all well and good, but Dev's tentacles are part of hir body; if they're in a picture, naturally, Dev has to be too, somehow. This makes desinging a tentacle-pic for Dev difficult, because they either have to be integrated into a body-to-body pose; or to somehow be structured as a random-tentacle style pic that also has Dev in there somewhere. This exponentially increases the complexity of the composition to a point where making the pic goes from fun, to a burden.

7. Q: What's the biggest thing Dev could take without being hurt?

7. A: Anything up to about 50% of hir hips' width, with a maximum depth level just below the bottom edge of hir rib-cage, basically.

I apologize to those people who were not responsible for my outburst, I didn't intend to freak you out. I am not, however, going to apologize for my outburst itself, and this is why;

Since I announced and explained I will be allowing people to create their own Kaisura characters when the KRDP site goes up, I have had a slow trick; growing into a moronic flood, of people pushing to make their Kaisuras ahead of time, before the system to keep such requests clean and simple for me to handle. This alone, is highly annoying; not to mention, demonstrates those who did it either pay no attention to the project announcements, or simply do not have the respect for me to wait. Bad.

But that, my dear watchers, is only the tip of the iceberg. The mere beginning. You see I have also had individuals produce Kaisuras without even asking; I've had people ask for permission, then go ahead and make it before I've even replied one way or another! And lets not forget the people who have actually gone as far as taking my own, goddamn, referrence material, manipulating the colours, and sending it back to me as "their" Kaisura!

I have been dealing with this fucktardary for WEEKS. And guess what? Dev snapped. Dev snapped /hard/

Now I'm told by friends of mine, that I shouldn't be putting up with this bullshit. I'm told by my trusted, loyal friends, that I have every right in the world to tell everyone to go fuck themself, and close the project right now.

But I'm not going to do that. Yet.

What I am going to do, however, is put the project on pause until further notice. I'll give it a while, and see if people can behave. During this period, and let me make this perfectly clear: I do not want any requests for permission to make a Kaisura, I do not want notes and emails asking me all kinds of questions about the species, I do not want notes and emails asking me for advice on the Kaisura you're making "for when the site opens", I do not want notes and emails asking me for advice on your creature that's "just based on kaisuras, it's not actually a kaisura" even though it's borderline fucking identical. I do not want /a damn thing/ said or asked about Kaisuras and/or the KRDP.

The project is on pause, and I am taking a break from it. If people can behave, I will return my full attention to the project and bring it to completion quickly. If people can not behave, I will scrap the project, and nobody but those I hand-pick will ever get to make their own Kaisura.

It's really that simple. ^_^

In any event, I am back, and active once again, so things should be returning to relative normalcy :D

Due to the image-composition of the kaisura sight mechanic, Dev (and any Kaisura with the unique kaisura-vision evolution) can actually see living things through matter. That is to say, shi could see you hiding behind a door, or on the other side of a wall. However, this only works for living things. Shi can't see the furniture in the next room because it is inanimate. Additionally, although Kaisura eyes are toward the front of the head, the mehcanic by which their vision works allows them to see in a spherical range around themself. It is quite literally impossible to sneak up on a Kaisura.
