I haven't posted in a while. To keep this nice and short, school started more than a month ago and I've been busy juggling that and work lately. My commissions have been a bit slow-going as a result of not only that, but also some motivational issues. After I'm done with my current round, I'm going to have to close so that I can catch up on a few other things (I.E art and character I want to draw, friends, mental health, school, better job, etc.) In the meantime, I'll try and find time to submit more art for the coming season. There are still many things I need to learn

To be honest, I kind of am. But I'm always nice and make efforts to socialize. I'm just more comfortable with my friends.

None planned so far. I'd like to be more financially stable before I plan the next one.

It's been a while since I posted my last journal, but after several months of hard work and depression, I have finally graduated college and I'm back home now. Not only that, my amazing parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles pitched in and got me a Surface Pro 4 as a graduation present! I've been drawing on that with SAI, Photoshop, and Sketchable lately and I must say, it's a pretty fine device for art, programming, and everything in between! It does take some getting used to, but I'm adapting to it pretty well and it's beginning to feel more natural than using an Intuos and a desktop like I normally do. Needless to say, a lot of my art will be done using my new toy :-D

As far as life goes, I'm struggling to find a post-graduation summer job. Applied places, not getting responses, dead-end phone calls, those sort of things. Not that I doubt that I'll even get a job, it's just that it's hard to get somewhere that allows me to work full time even slightly over minimum wage. But if it comes to it, I'll work part time and do commissions to try and fulfill the rest. Better than virtually no income :-/

My goodness, my last journal was four months ago! I hardly ever post them but I guess it would be a health thing to do the more I do it.

The semester has finally ended, and this semester was kind of depressing to say the least. I had little to no motivation to draw and get things done, it's effected my grades, my art portfolio, and my social activity. Basically every day felt like the same, and it was not good. My college town is tiny and in the middle of nowhere, so I'm far away from all my friends. I couldn't go to Furry Unlocked due to financial and academic constraints, in spite of how many people tried convincing me to come and the fact that all my local friends and favorite artists came. I had to see a consular, I only came home once during the semester, long story short I've been a bit lonely and depressed lately.

But that's in the past now. The semester is finally over! I can finally get back to drawing, playing games, basically whatever I want without having to worry about tests, projects, and homework! I plan on taking less classes next semester so hopefully the next semester won't be so bad. In the meantime, it's almost time for Christmas!!

Because it's almost Christmas and I need money for presents and surviving the next semester, I'll be opening for Holiday themed headshots and sketches: Both flat and colored for $10. Send me a note if you're interested ^^

Because of financial and academic constraints, I unsurprisingly did not attend Eurofurence 21. Well...I am yet to attend a furry con in general :-P but I was able to view the main stage streams thanks to EF Prime. It was amazing watching it live online, and I'm trying very hard to imagine myself there in person without crying internally. Something about Eurofurence makes it my favorite convention as far as my experience of spectation goes. The banners, the hotel, the emphasis in the theme, the artists who regularly show up... to my knowledge that must be the closest to paradise on Earth I can imagine. I'm going to go to Eurofurence someday, and I refuse to let that dream stay a dream.

But wait, since I'm not at Eurofurence, what is it about this hotel mentioned in the title? Well...let's just say you should be careful with how you handle grease while cooking. No joke, someone in the apartment right above ours caused a grease fire in their kitchen. So everyone in the building evacuated, firemen were summoned, however these situations work. There was no fire damage as far as I know, it was a small flame that probably could've been handled by one person with a fire extinguisher. The extensive damage came from the sprinklers that went off in their apartment, which leaked to ours and flooded the kitchen and living room.

So because of the flood, they're having me and my roommates spend five nights at a nearby hotel at their expense while they do renovations. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and hallway was completely dry and un-damaged, and the power went back on last time I was there when getting more of my stuff, so I'm pretty sure it would've been cheaper and easier to simply have us go around the kitchen and living room while they work on it rather than spend thousands on having us stay in a hotel. But hey, this goes beyond my control and I pay nothing for it. For five nights I get an HDTV, free breakfast, and fast Wifi, so why complain when I can take advantage of this. I get to come back to my apartment whenever anyway, I just can't sleep or shower there.

Now this is where this frighteningly massive wall of text gets depressing. My childhood dog named Piper, who we've had since I was in the first grade, has symptoms that might or might not mean that she's nearing the end of her life. These symptoms include high white blood cell count and blood in her stomach. It could be an infection, but the doc thinks it's cancer. Frankly I'm not surprised, that dog is very old; she moved through two houses with us, lived with us during the 2002 Olympics that was happening downtown, she's had a very long life growing up with the family and being there when everything happened. I'd honestly prefer that she passes away knowing that she's a very good dog, one who deserves every bit of love she knows she very much is. I don't want her to not feel like herself and suffer from her discomfort having no clue how much she means to us for the 14 years she'd been in our family.

The thing is, I can't help but feel guilty. I was told to be her favorite person; I walked her the most, fed her the most, we share the same room and sometimes the same bed, and for her entire lifetime too. I heard that pets are very good for children because it helps them develop sympathy for others, and I think maybe, just maybe, Piper helped me become the person I am now, the one who wants to help others and doesn't want to see others get hurt. And yet the last time I saw piper was when I zipped her and our other dog Frodo up in the dog pack-and-play before my family and I was leaving to drop me off at college. I feel like there wan't enough closure and. Did I miss my chance to let her know how much I love her one last time? Having her die while missing me and not knowing how I think of her is something I'd always feel guilty about, and the worst part is there may be nothing I can do about it. I can't just drive 100 miles there out of the blue, I've always had bad luck with timing and I scared it will be another situation. We're taking it one day at a time and we have no clue when she might pass. I should probably plan on coming home and visit sooner rather than later.

I like how the last one came out, and I think I'll try this again. I have the sketch done but I'll post it and open tomorrow. I hope you guys like kites!

Just a reminder that I am currently open for PWYW commissions and I will likely be streaming them as well. Aside from that, I'm also putting together some more YCH templates to open later this week.

As for how I'm doing, nothing too eventful has been happening. It's been over a month since I've been home for the summer. I went to Idaho to see my moms boyfriend propose and we're working on re-painting and un-carpeting our old house before putting it on sale. Aside from that, I'm really counting on commissions as my main source of income for the time being. Funds are very tight, I only have just enough for groceries in my savings account and I have plans to apply for a job on-campus once the semester starts.

What this means is that not only am I open for commissions, they're pretty much the main thing I'm doing right now. I'll be streaming a lot, I won't take weeks and weeks on any slots, and there are all sorts of new things I'm trying out. They're PWYWs too, but if it turns out you'd rather know how much I'm expecting, let me know.

Freelance stuff aside, there's a lot I'm looking forward to this week. There's E3 2015 happening right now! *train noises*, Steven Bomb (new eps of Steven Universe every day this week), and I'm finally working on my first character ref! I also plan on using this ref template for other character refs if desired by me or by my commissioners.

Oh, one more thing. Have you see Jurassic World yet? I just did, and having grown up with the first movie, it brought me back so much! Hearing that classic Jurassic Park theme music in theaters brought so many feels. If you remember Jurassic Park from way back when, this film is definitely worth the watch!

Guys? Guys? What if I was to be available to do commissions for fps spray paints? Your sona eating a sandwich, taunting the other team, or anything else distracting or impressive to show off to the server? I mean, sure you can use any image you want as a spray paint, but these commissions can be tailored to the game or how you play it. What do you guys think? Is it worth a shot?

Do any of you artists out there know of some good brush sets for Sai? Or some tips on customizing my existing ones? I want to try out some painty or sketchy styles for when I finally submit something.

Speaking of submitting something: I know, I've been quiet for awhile. I had 16 credit hours and I had to drop a (non-required) class because of my work load. After that, midterms were coming up, and I've been busy with that since. I've also felt a little unmotivated lately, so my activity will seem a bit slow going for now.

With that said, I still have a few projects I've set aside for about a month and I'm working on an art trade with someone from DA. The projects in questions are commissions templates, so later this month or next month I'm likely to open on FA for the first time. I can't make promises though, school is getting pretty hard -_-

I was going to release some character insert commissions for Valentine's Day, but it seems my college schedule has gotten the better of me, and I don't have enough time to finish the backgrounds, open, and illustrate the characters within a 1.5 week time constraint along with 16 credit hours of classes plus homework and exams this week.

I'm still gonna finish the character inserts and open them sometime, but it looks like it can't be a Valentine's day special. But I believe love is a timeless concept that can transcend holidays, and I look forward to drawing what warms our hearts.

In the meantime, I have got to get my motivation together and keep practicing >_< lately I haven't drawn as much as I hoped and I want that happy feeling of accomplishment and enlightenment back. If you're an artist who knows how to fix this, some input would be nice
