Yep! That time of the year where I keep you all updated on my already traditional end of the year break and what's to come in the future.

Vacations and Commissions
I'll take a slightly longer break this year, essentialy starting on 13th December on to 3rd January. Commissions will resume shortly after. I feel like I have been feeling that back of the head burnout since July to be honest. I can easily see on my trello that my output plummeted around that time due to a mix of my own disappointment in hitting an artistic wall with my improvement alongside my own lack of focus. I only got myself to blame here.

I do plan to use one of my weeks to actually do some studies this time. It is something I severely lack. I'm at the point I need to eat the veggies of art if I want to see any improvement.

Price Changes
New prices are coming for next year, sorry in advance, no one likes it, I know. I am officially adding stickers to the batch though now. I have been doing some of them kinda on and off but I also think it's mostly because not many know I do them at all due to my own lack of advertisement. Expect a revamped price sheet really soon. As per usual, commissions already in my queue are not affected. New prices applies only to new commissions.

On a side note, I really have been enjoying the colored sketches I did, both for myself and as commissions. I'm glad I added that option for the past couple of years.

I have a Telegram now
I finally decided to get myself one. As much as I like Discord to chat with clients, there is always the mini hassle of adding people as friends first that doesn't exist on Telegram so I hope this new mean of communication can make it easier for people to reach me. My nickname is @yiorae, same as on Discord. (Diafragma was already taken, alas)

Oh yeah, about my health...
I don't think I ever updated you people about it, have I?

In regards to my random chest pains, they remain as random as ever. I kinda just learned to live with it? Every single exam I did said my body was A-OK so all in all, it's inconclusive. Best I can do in this try to improve my own routine with better eating habits and just exercise, really. I only had a handful of days I had to stop and lay down to wait it pass so it isn't as bothersome as it once were but I guess I simply learned to live with it.

In regards to my dizziness, it's... just gone. Yeah, just like that. I had a couple months where it felt the world was constantly uneven on my feet, I got myself new glasses (which I badly needed) and during my quest to figure it out, it just vanished. Hoping it won't come back again but I can only suspect it was potentaily related to my bad living habits.

So, yeah.
If you didn't know I'm brazilian, now you do. And if you're not the type to check international news, Brazil is blocked from accessing Twitter for the time being. And by the look of things, it might remain as such for the near future.

Hey. It has been a while.

I have been living with a pressure at the top of my stomach for about 8 months now. Since then I have done an X-Ray, an endoscopy, an ultrasound and a biopsy for H.Pylori. They all came clean. Honestly, as bothersome as that can be, I can live with it. Yeah, it's annoying but not enough to halt my life and that's waht I have been doing.

However, since the third week of May, a new symptom showed up: Dizziness. And just like my tummy pressure, it's constant. It doesn't come in spikes nor do I feel nauseous. But it is constant, even when I close my eyes, it's like I'm lowkey tipsy. There are days I feel like I'm on a boat with calm waves, there are others that I'm braving the high seas with a couple drinks in my head. It hasn't been great.
I am, yet again, going to doctors to check that. What they have figure it out so far is that it is not my ears and not my eyes (I did get new glasses since my current ones are a decade old).

The recommendation right now is for me to do any sort of physical activity, get some morning sun (my vitamin D is really low) and eat more colorful meals. Then do a blood exam and return in a couple of weeks. So I guess I'll be doing that.

Working like this is far from enjoyable, especially on the days my dizziness is really strong. Expect my commissions to crawl while I'm trying to figure it out why this is happening.

December is upon us people, a little news to keep you all updated.

Commissions and Vacations
This will be a short month for commissions as I plan to take my vacations break from 18th Dec up to 2-3rd Jan. First week of January will be mostly to work on sketches going back to my normal routine on the week after, 8th Jan.

My Health
If you only follow me here, you might be a tad bit outdated on my current situation. I did write I wasn't feeling the greatest 2 months ago because of a weird pressure on my chest that just didn't go away. I got better since then but I'm far from a 100%. Breathing is fine but I still feel a constant strangle at the top of my stomach and sometimes at the bottom of it with varying degrees of discomfort throughout the day.
The good news is that all the exams I did so far show my chest is fine. That bad news is that I still don't know what's going on. The next obvious suspect is my stomach; I have exams schedule for that, just waiting for the day to arrive.
Fingers crossed I can solve it this year still.

Hey ya peeps.

I thought about letting you all know that since last Monday, I have been feeling not the best. I feel this weird chest pressure that makes breathing a conscious effort and I got some occasional stomach pains. It's really odd but to be fair, I haven't been having the best lifestyle since pandemic. My life currently can be resumed into waking up, breakfast, work, lunch, work, shower, dinner, PC, bed.

I have an appointment next monday to, you know, check this out since it's not an emergency but it's really bothersome. Expect my drawing speed to drop dramatically until my health is back to normal.

I ain't 20 years old anymore, this should be a wake up call for me to not be slothness incarnate.

I have been working on this new workflow for my soft shaded style that I believe adds more depth to the picture so starting this month, this is now my default. Expect my next soft shaded pieces to have this look and feel from now on.

Hey people! Couple news to update y'all with.

Vacations
With the end of the year approaching, I'll take some days off to enjoy the holidays and take one deserved break myself. I had my fair share of pc issues this year sadly which made me feel I wasn't as productive as I could have been, really hampered my will. Specially this end of the year when the year long burn out catches up to me. So, I'll take 2 weeks break from 24 December to 7 January.

Price Changes
With the new year, my prices will have a raise to them. I didn't do any changes from previous year to this one so I have to adjust my prices to my reality, sorry for the inconvinience. But with this, I also want to make my price sheet simpler. I'll get rid of my NSFW tax, Wings tax will remain though. Commissions already in my queue won't be affected by this, they'll be charged by the agreed price on my current price sheet.

Miscellaneous
I want to add a new style to my portfolio, Colored Sketches. This is an experimental thing I wanna do, you might have seen in my scraps I have been doodling less polished but colored stuff. I'm not set on a style for it yet (hence the experimental part) but the idea is that this type of commission is something that I can do quickly, 2 to 3 days tops. No backgrounds, no more than 2 characters. I'm still deciding if I want this to be purely artistic liberty or you could give me a general idea and I draw based on that. I do have a slight desire to use this option as a quick pinup art but I'll see how it goes.

I have been dabbling in google forms to make the process to commission me easier. I understand I don't have the most practical way to be reached and this would help not only you to submit your request but also me to help me organise it all on my Trello. I just need to not be lazy about it.

So... yeah, I'm in a serious self hate right now.
I got some new pc parts and while trying to build my new machine, I did a fuck up that I'm too ashamed to say out loud.
The thing is I dont trust myself anymore to unfuck what I just fucked so I'm taking it to the shop in hopes they can solve the mess I did.

I can't use my old machine cause I'm salvaging some important parts of it for this new one rendering me essentially without a proper working machine. Commissions are halted until I get this sorted. I'm really sorry for my clients for this.

Just announcing that I'll take a little break next week, from 11 July to 15 July.
Got to resolve some real life pendencies and just because I need a little break myself as well. Commissions will resume normally the week after.

It is fixed!
Odd thing is what they did was just clean it all up and that was enough to get it to boot up again. So guess the problem wasn't as bad as it seemed but still, I'll keep an eye for a new mobo as I'm not the biggest fan of this one.

Anyway, commissions will reopen Wednesday! Glad it's all back to normal and I can draw again ^w^

Basically as the title said, my PC decided that it doesn't want to turn on. Straight up zero response when I press the tower button. I tried to do whatever tests I could to see if I could fix it myself but none worked. I'll be taking my machine to a shop I trust and hope they can figure it out what happened.
The place only opens Monday through Friday though. Even if I'm optimistic, good chances it will take a week until I get a response so I'll have little updates during the coming week.

I use my main PC for literally everything. Work, entertainment and whatever else. My laptop is just not powerful enough to run CSP so that means all commissions are halted until I can get my main desktop fixed.

2 April - It turned itself on without any input from me. So basically, I don't trust its PSU anymore. I'm getting myself a new one. It will take a couple days to arrive.

6 April - So, the new PSU has been installed but problem persists. I took it to the shop cause I don't have the mental health for this anymore. They sounded rather positive they know what the deal is so I should have an answer by friday. But I don't really think I'll have my machine back before Tuesday.

I have some super duper news to share! ...Ok, it isn't super duper for you but it is for me.

Vacations:
I'll take some vacations from 18 December to 7 January, a grand total of 3 weeks. I have been working this year nearly nonstop and I do feel the burnout crawling under my skin so yeah, I do need that chill time.
Any commission that I can't deliver before the 18 will be on halt till my break is over and will resume shortly after.
It won't be all chill time though. I plan to use the last week of my break to finally check the many sources that several artist pals sent me over the year so I can improve my craft, hopefuly I can learn a thing or two so I can deliver even more great arts to you all~

Minor News:
There are two things that I want to share;
Firstly, I have been thinking on retiring my pure lineart commission option since that one is the least requested and switch it up with a more carefree colored sketch style. I'm not super sure of that yet but I do want to add the colored sketch to my list, something that I can do in 2 days tops. I still need to learn how to properly get the looks of what I want, and most importantly, being able to sketch fast enough. But yeah, just another commission option that doesn't take half of a week for me to do, hopefuly. I don't have a precise time frame for when that's going to happen but it very much will happen.

And secondly, I will very likely open a Twitter next year. It's about time that I open another communication channel. Besides, Twitter is much better at spreading the word than FA.
You should be warned that my Twitter will be very NSFW. And like any good grand twitter opening, expect a (also very NSFW) raffle once I get that up. I will be sure to announce here when that happens~

Hey ya peeps!
Man, it feels like ages since I did one of these.

So, very recently I was gifted Clip Studio Paint which is the drawing program I have been flirting with for God knows how long at this point.
What does that mean? It means I'll be slowly transitioning from Sketchbook Pro (my previous drawing software) to CSP! Because I'm still adapting myself to it, you might notice something different on my art pieces. I have been doodling a little already to get used to the brush engine and searching which brushes adapts better to my style.

I might take a little longer to complete commissions at first as I have to learn a new workflow for it but I have high hopes that once I master the tools, I might improve my drawing speed!

I'm super hyped with this and quite motivated to spend hours upon hours on commissions and personal ideas with this new toy so stay tuned for that. ^w^

Hey there peeps! As the year slowly approaches to its end, I have a couple of news to share with y'all.

Vacations Break:
I'll be taking an end of the year vacation from December 23 to January 3 for the festivities and because I really need one since I haven't taken a break since I started in February. All Commissions will be on halt during that period and will resume after January 3rd.

Price Changes:
This year was a good trial for my pace on how efficiently I can draw and if I was even able to have enough commissions to keep me busy. Along with my style that has been improving, there will be some adjustments for next year.
I also plan to add a new Emotes Category since I have been doing those for a while. My ToS will be updated accordingly as well as some minor tweaks that could really use a revamp/update.
Commissions already in my queue won't be affected by the price change. They will be charged by the old price that was arranged.

You all saw that I have been doing some emotes for a while but I never set a price in stone for them and it's about time that I did. Emotes will now be priced as follows:

Emote Prices: 5$ Each.
Every fifth emote is free. (In short, every pack of 5 costs 20$)
All prices are in USD.
The new prices takes effect immediately.

Any Emote Pack commission already in my queue won't be affected by this change but you won't be allowed to add new emotes during sketch phase anymore, those will be treated as a new commission.

The new prices will be added to my price sheet probably next year when I revamp it. I'm really sorry for the sudden announcement and the inevitable inconvinience, it is something that I had to do.

It's a bit more than that actually but it's almost a year since I actively started to contribute to the community. This seems like a good moment to stop and look back on how I ended up here...

I was in a very, very rough moment of my life. I wasn't depressed but I had no sense of future, nothing to look up to, no light at the end of the tunnel. I had given up… And to top it off, my main computer died so I couldn’t even distract myself with my usual escapism, I was very limited on what I could do to not think about my situation.
In one of my random reddit browsings, I've found furry_irl, a place for furry memes. It was stupid, silly and it distracted me from my daily, sad reality. So I slowly started to leave some comments, upvote others... and eventually, I made a post myself. It was super low effort, a really bad one. But some people liked, others laughed and that made me feel good. I went back to my old drawing hobby, drew a couple more furry and memes and people really liked it.
I've found something that I can do that people not only enjoyed but supported me. And so I took my very first mad decision:

I bought a drawing tablet.

I was used to traditional but they’re not easy to upload and look quite bad when taking a picture. Digital art made things much easier but it was quite the learning curve. I wanted to get better at it. I started to admire general furry art more, getting inspired, wanting to draw just like the artists everybody knows and therefore, I went into a freefall of furry tutorials. Learning tips and tricks, do’s and don’ts, the general gist. I was getting better at drawing my memes and some general art that I was starting pull off as well but it wasn’t enough.
I went after streams of furry art. I found a couple but one in particular had such a nice group that I just wanted to come back not only for myself but to spend a nice time with them. And thanks to them, I took my second mad decision:

I got myself a Discord.

It was a place where I could enjoy their company not only during stream times but whenever. I would soon find out that many Reddit pals also had Discord so I could spend my time with them as well and not only when making memes. I can say that I made some good, real friends there. I’ve also lost some that pained me to see them go… but the most unusual thing that came from all of this is that I found love. Someone just for me, someone who I want to give myself whole~
My drawing shenanigans continues, of course. I reached a 100 followers on Reddit, my first artist milestone. Slowly getting to the same mark here on FA as well (that's you peeps~). An increasing number of people telling me they would really like an art from me to the point of paying me for it… And so, I took my third mad decision:

I would be doing commissions…

I know you haven’t seen anything about it yet but I have been working on the backstage. I know, I’m terribly slow with it, I’m so sorry but you have to trust me! I have more than 50% done, I’m so damn close I can almost smell it!!! <w<”
But yes, that is going to happen this year! Just you wait.

One year ago, I was lonely, no prospects of what laid ahead, no will to fight, nothing. And now, here I stand, a handful of friends, with someone who I love and loves me back, with a new passion for a hobby that might even earn me a couple of bucks. All because I decided to interact with a bunch of furries...
I still haven’t solved all of my issues from one year ago. However, they do seem a lot lighter now. And maybe, just maybe, one year from now, they’ll be finally gone.

Silly news incoming!

I think it's about time for me to get some consistency on my names. Having my furaffinity name one thing, my furry friends calling me by another and signing as a third makes no sense. So I'm just gonna start signing my things as DYA instead. The initials of all my internet names which makes it almost consistent with my current name. Brand building and what not, you know...

Aedes was a name I used since my days of young. MMOs mostly. Was so easy to create an account with that name, nobody used it... not anymore it seems. Doesn't feel wise to keep signing as something somebody else has it. So a name change is in order.
