As of yesterday (which just so happened to be my birthday), I reached 1000 favorites here on FurAffinity. I want to thank all of you out there that have faved, watched, left comments, or even just stopped by for a quick second.
I suppose a lot of the art I post here is kind of "gimmicky" and it usually plays to a particular audience, but this is a great outlet for sharing and I'm really glad that some of my art finds a little love here. Have you seen Gofrette?

It's this ADORABLE little French-Canadian cartoon about a cat named Gofrette that lives with his refrigerator (named Red) and his friends Fudge the dog and Ellie the bird (that flies with a propeller on her head rather than wings. I know I know... but it's a childrens' cartoon. Everything is supposed to be like you're in a K Hole).
They ride around a town named Zanimo in a Volkswagen and always find the funnest things to get into.

Sometimes they find pirate treasure, sometimes they participate in fashion shows, and sometimes they work in a restaurant serving patrons while wearing rollerskates.

Wouldn't life be grand if it were really like that? You wake up every morning, without a care of course, and say good morning to your refrigerator. Then you hop in a hippie bus driven by your good friend and just have the most extraordinary day.

I AM going somewhere with this.

I totaled my car about... ummm.... three weeks ago now, so I'm pretty much limited to home and classes. Home and classes. Home and classes. A trip to the digital studio, then home. Then classes the next day.
I'm spending too much time on irc, and I've been drinking too much.
I'm honestly pretty depressed. Other than working out (which is becoming a real addiction. At least this one doesn't fly up my nose...), I've also been GAMING, which is usually my last-ditch effort to while away some time while I wait for something to happen.
I'm not seeing anyone, and haven't really treated anyone that I HAVE seen with the regard necessary to start a relationship. Just... kind of get what I want and move along. (Yes, I know that's my own fault MOTHER. But I haven't been in a place to respect myself lately, let alone anyone else.)

I can hear you. "Umm... DiDi? What the hell does that have to do with a cat named Gofrette that rides around in a hippie bus with an animal that would ideally be his natural enemy?"
Well, here goes:

Gofrette starts everyday with a smile. He says hello to Red, hello to the slugnuts (you would have to watch it to get that one I guess...), and hello to a "Where's Waldo?"-like kitty named Houdini.
His friends are always there for him, and people genuinely like him because he's sweet and friendly.
And it's all because he doesn't stick his damn head in the mud, and isn't all "woe is me" all the time.

He's kind of a swinger, but really wants to meet the right guy. As it stands right now, I suppose I would say he's unhappily entangled in a love triangle.
06. Ideal mate:
DiDi is kind of all over the place with this one. I'm sure he would say he wants everything and more. Physical attraction is important, but intelligence and an appreciation for the finer things is also significant.
07. Odd Skills/Skills in genera:
DiDi is a shining star, a talented entertainer, and an artist in his own right. He performs as a drag queen, but is so much more beneath the surface.
08. Last Amusing Escapade:
DiDi is infamous for amusing escapades. He's very much the type to wake up naked in a public park or break wind in front of fabulous celebrities.
09. Favorite food:
DiDi is kind of a health freak. He really loves fish and rice, and ADORES spicy food, while avoiding pretty much ANYTHING that tastes good or may add vanity pounds.
10. Crushes:
Poor DiDi is a little flippant sometimes. He's always been faithful in his relationships, but has a terrible case of wandering eyes.
He really likes musicians, singers in particular, and has spent time in and out of relationships with Raven and Roach.
11. Favorite music:
Dance music. Trance, House, Rave, NRG, eurodance, synthpop...
Ladytron is his all time favorite band.
12. Biggest fear:
If you were to ask him, he would proabably tell you "being fat." But in his heart he is very much afraid of being alone for the rest of life.

Being happily "married" and living off of his earnings as a monumental legend of the RuPaul variety.
14. Quirks:
He's the partyboy. He dresses outrageously, works out obsessively, and will flirt to get himself into a good situation or out of a bad one.

As I mentioned, DiDi has wandering eyes. He's not a cheater, per se, but he tends toward being in open relationships even though he really just wants one special person.
He smokes, he drinks (sometimes a little too much), and he has a history of drug abuse.
16. Biggest regret:
DiDi's biggest regret is probably not finishing college.
17. Best kept secrets:
In his youth, DiDi suffered heavily from depression and was teetering on the brink of self destruction. He threw himself into promiscuity and heavy drug use before coming to terms with himself and his lifestyle.
It is a stark contrast to the energetic and jubilant DiDi that the rest of the world knows.
18. Last thought:

19. Worst sexual/romantic experience:
Before coming out of the closet, DiDi fooled around with a well-endowed cat that physically hurt him during their act. It wasn't exactly rape, as he hadn't declined the actions, but afterwards he was hurt and confused.

His weight. He's not fat, is indeed fit with an attractive build, but he obsesses over his weight, often saying bad things about himself.

Okay... so that's a little more on DiDi ^.^ He's deeper than you would think.

Okay, TECHNICALLY I'm supposed to let you guys ask me about characters I draw. But my furry art is pretty much just limited to Tails and the occasional original character (which is usually a fox :P), so I'll save myself the embarassment of getting no rplies to this meme and just tell you about Tails.
Besides, that Halloween meme HAS to get off my front page or I'll just SCREAM.

And so:
Name a character that you know I write/draw or have written/drawn (What's that you say? Tails? Okay...), and I'll tell you:
a. What initially prompted me to write/draw them: It was 1992 and I was a young chubby little thing in elementary school. I didn't play sports, but I read a lot and I adored cartoons. I STILL read (just not as much...) And I STILL adore cartoons...
Well, Sonic 2 had just come out and Sonic-mania swept America with the cartoons and everything... and that's when I "met" Tails. He was ADORABLE! And at the time I saw a lot of myself in him.
I was trying to find a "thing..." a "niche" if you will, and one day I decided I would try to draw my favorite little foxy. I was proud of the form I captured with him (although I'm sure I would CRINGE if I saw it now O.O), and other people thought it was cool that I could draw him, so it kind of stuck. To this day if I'm feeling uninspired or I need to warm up my hands before I start a large drawing or a painting, I'll sketch him out in the margins of my sketchbook. And sometimes I doodle him while I'm bored to tears in a lecture class >.<
b. One of their best traits: Well I think he's just the CUTEST thing EVER! I love his optimism. I like how he's occasionally shy, but he's very brave. He kind of epitomizes blossoming youth to me (and NO that ISN'T a fuck-reference >.>).
c. One of their worst traits: I kind of idealize him, so it's hard to say what his worst trait would be. I guess if I had to pick anything, I'd say that sometimes he's afraid to stand up for himself.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write/draw the character: Oh, I could draw Tails doing any old thing now. Picking his nose, sitting on the toilet, scratching his ass... I'm very familiar with his form and hes really just two circles and a few lines...
e. The moment where I feel that I truly captured the character: I think I finally found just the right style about three years ago, with the fluid lines and smooth curves and everything. I had experimented with a more "manga-ish" style, but it just doesn't work that well for me. I really like an on-model approach to Tails, much the way he's designed by Sega and animated on Sonic X (which IS a terrible cartoon, I know >.>)
I like to give him a little blush in his cheeks when he's doing something naughty...
f. My plans to write/draw the character in the near future: Well, I'm wrapping up Lee's commission, and I have some more on the horizon. And I have a sketch that needs to be finalized and scanned. And, like I said, I draw him all the time, so I'm sure you'll see plenty more Tails out of me :P Besides... if it weren't for Tails I would hardly post to this site >.<

1. What does Halloween mean to you?
DRESSING UP! It's the MOST IMPORTANT element of Halloween.
Even if you're not going out.
Put on something that's a little too tight and shows a little too much skin. Slather on a little pancake and go eyeliner MAD.
Invoke ghosts of the past! Think... suicide victims or dead drag queens.

2. What is the best song that would sum up Halloween for you?

3. Whats the worse thing to happen to you on Halloween?
Hmmm... well, getting a few rocks thrown at me as I traipsed drunkedly down 2nd Avenue was a lot of fun.

4. Whats the worse candy that you've ever gotten on a trick or treating raid?
I HATE candy corn (or INDIAN corn, as some of you may know it...)
It tastes like wax. And vomit.

5. What movies do you think make up for the best all night spooktacular?
Well, I like to start out with the Romero classics. Add in a dash of Firday the 13th (cliche! I know! >.>), a sprinkle of Hellraiser parts 1 and 2, a pinch of ANYTHING directed by Luci Fulci (okay... not ANYTHING. But MOST anything...), and a twist of something that NO ONE will enjoy watching. Something like Blood Feast or Cannibal Hollocaust.
Whatever you do, AVOID the HAlloween series at all costs. And PLEASE GOD put down that old VHS of The Nightmare Before Christmas >.<

6. What movie would you never ever want to miss seeing at Halloween?
I always go see the new Saw films on Halloween. (I know, I know. Diss on a Tim Burton classic and spout for the new gore-o-rama-mindlessness of the Saw series >.>)

7. Do you like to listen to Halloween themed music during October?
Occasionally...

8. Now for something completely different. Do you believe in ghosts?
Kinda-sorta, maybe?

Well, I think my dead uncle came and scared the shit out of me to convince me to put down the cigarettes (didn't work... Sorry Uncie Ronnie...)

The thing that I will NEVER EVER forget was when all my old stuffed animals came to life and menaced me with growling and promises of a rather gory end to my 8 year old life.
And it was REAL. I don't care. If it were a dream, I would have forgotten it.
I even remember which stuffies it was! They don't live here anymore.

Well, I'm a sound sleeper. And on Halloween I'm usually DRUNK STUPID, so I just pass right out and leave myself open for a proper maiming at the hands of your favorite sream-screen legend.

11. Tell me about something that scared you during Halloween.
Well, a lot of straight fat boys like to do drag on Halloween, and that scares the bejeezus out of me.

12. Where is the scariest place you've been on Halloween?
A drug house, making a purchase from an angry black man that didn't seem to appreciate the nuances of a 1950's housedress paradoxed with a bright pink wig.

Ahhh.... it never really changes very much, does it? You HAVE to have new clothes and have your hair JUST RIGHT. And accessorize, for God's great sake.

But that's not what I'm going to talk about. I'm going to talk about MY FIRST DAY of Graphic Design Technologies.

Up until now, it's all been drawing and "classic" design principles. Cut and paste. Add color here. Spackle JUST SO...
And suddenly I'm awash in TECHNOLOGY. I don't even have an iPod. My computing skills are... well, I'm not a caveman, but I'm hardly on that plateau that seems to house the kids that had computers growing up (BECAUSE I'M AN OLD HAG NOW) and played a lot of video games (I put down the joystick after the Dreamcast passed on. Okay, I lie. I played GTA3 and Vice City, but they hardly count. Oh, and I'm up on ALL the Resident Evils so far, but that doesn't really count either. Sometimes I play House of the Dead 4 at Dave and Busters, but you can DRINK there...).

But nevermind that. It's an Art Class, so of course on day one we sat in a circle at the table and talked about our summers.
SPOTLIGHT.
And I haven't had a drink in DAYS.
This is what I said. You should break out knee-pads because you just might be beating the piss out of your legs:

I wouldn't have gone there, but we all shared our birthdays because it helps our instructor remember our names. Don't ask, it's an Art Class. BUT THERE'S MORE. EVERYONE did something really cool over the summer. One girl made it as an at-home Titans Cheerleader. One guy is working on the mosaic out at the new shopping center. A LOT of people spent time in fabulous cities across the globe. Now it's my turn...) "My summer was mostly uneventful. I spent a lot of time at the gym and working on my tan in my backyard..."

My instructor actually asked me if I watched Project Runway. I SWEAR IT'S TRUE.

The first day is TERRIFYING!
And I still have a Throwing Class to go to tonight!
