Going to MFF?
General | Posted 13 years agoI am trying to decide if I should go. I probably will as
chocolatemuscle is going and it will be a new experience, as well.
Just have to actually buy the air tickets. That usually helps when going somewhere, right?
Anyone else going?

Remembering memerable motorcycle quotes
General | Posted 13 years agoAh, the joy of reading. In this case, motorsports rags.
On old BSA's:
"It might be slow, but at least it's unreliable"
On cars (Motorweek Magazine):
"Cars are for wankers"
On the 1993 Yamaha Royal Star (John Burns, Motorcyclist Magazine):
"Maybe I'm missing something. I want to punch out the greeter at Wal-Mart. Garth Brook makes me wretch. I'll drink Budweiser when the bar is out of yak urine. I'd rather drive a car than ride a Royal Star.
They'll probably sell millions"
On British electrical devices:
Lucas, Prince of Darkness.

Back from Folsom Street Fair!
General | Posted 13 years agoAnd we (try) to promise that the next time we visit San Francisco, it wiil only be during a Frolic weekend.
Furries make San Francisco a great place to visit.
Because the overall gay life just doesn't seem to.
That is all.

Folsom ahead!
General | Posted 13 years agoHeaded out to SF with
Chocolatemuscle to attend Folsom Street Fair, my first time. If you are in the area or will be in the area, we would love to meet you. Just give a yell!
Even if you've actually looked at my IRL pictures I'll probably be somewhat hard to find at Folsom, so giving a yell would work best. Or, maybe, I *won't* be hard to find - just look for a guy in full head-to-toe latex (or, conversely, completely transparent latex shirt & shorts) and an matching full head gas mask. That will probably be me.
If it isn't too cold out to wear just latex that is. The weather forecast calls for a high of 62 degrees. How are you supposed to get nekid when the temperature is only 60? Freeze my little bits off, I'm telling ya.
They need to move the fair to August!
Actually, just thought - we WON'T be hard to find. Just look for the GIANT blond bodybuilder towing along a small rubber guy. That will be us LOL

News from Nugget!
General | Posted 13 years agoWe'll start off with the most interesting stuff for the most people - the ongoing story of Nugget in the Adventures of Nugget comic.
It (hopefully!) sounds like a good time to announce that our NEW ARTIST,
HeartlessFang is working hard on chapter 3! It will be the longest installment yet and tell the story of how little Nugget came into our lives (and how mine was never the same!! )
So go cheer
HeartlessFang along!

General | Posted 13 years agoRemember 2010's Google scandal about their Street View vans, logging on to any WiFi hotspot they passed by to collect unauthorized network data?
When the scandal broke worldwide, Google promised the world's governments that it was all a mistake and that they would delete all the unauthorized collected data.
Well, SURPRISE!!
In today's news, Google admits that they DIDN'T delete all the data.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/48355584
This all begs the question: WHY are there so many suckers who believe that corporations will keep their best interests at heart, especially if/when regulations are relaxed? Are they REALLY that stupid?
Obvious answer: Yes, we ARE, thank you very much.

A big Thank You to Oklacon!! You jerks.
General | Posted 13 years agoThank You for making a STRICTLY HTML5-compatible website that can't be viewed except by browsers THEY deem acceptable.
Currently I'm on an office computer using IE8. "DIAF" is Oklacon's reply. Yes, I use Firefox at home WHEN I'M ACTUALLY HOME TO USE IT - read: pretty much 'never'. This ALSO means that you CAN'T view their web site - pretty much in its entirety - from a phone, my [preferred / forced due to time] method of web browsing.
So, rather than design a web site that everyone can visit, ESPECIALLY mobile users, and only have incompatible content stripped out, instead if you visit with anything but that which is deemed acceptable and you get NOTHING. SQUAT, except a link to the registration page. Yeah. Like registering to a con you can't even find out about will happen any time soon. They're beating the doors down for this one, I tell you!! [/sarcasm]
I simply wanted to check out the place with the few spare moments of free time in my life that I have (I'm waiting for a business contact to phone me, after hours). Too bad, I don't care any more when you make unilateral declarations.
Thank you for your attentions. We now return you to your regular gripes and whining.

General | Posted 13 years agoOur comic artist had to retire from the project due to a refocusing of his life priorities. We wish him well with big :HUGS!:
So, we are therefore looking at some new artists to continue The Adventures of Nugget series. We've got plenty of scripts and as soon as we can finalize with some artists we'll be back!

The "Didn't Do AC" XXX Journal
General | Posted 13 years agoHeh. Didn't go to AC! LOL But was uber-busy anyway.
The entire prior week was spent in semi-panic mode as my boss took the week off. Actually, he didn't return until Wednesday the 13th. So, for 10 business days, I did both his job AND mine running the entire scene. First few days were serious panic mode as I also have Mondays off now, so when I returned Tuesday I had TWO days of his work AND my work to suddenly catch up on.
Ugliness ensued.
But, finally, the weekend arrived.
I did 3 different events in one weekend, 2 charity events and a bit o' fun. Actually, ALL were fun - a BLAST, really - but one was "just for fun" while the other two should consistute as "work". ???
Friday night I did "Sling", its very first iteration, at Rockbar. It is a benefit and fundraiser for Leather Pride Night. I was one of two featured 'models' and did balls-to-floor raffles and other raunchy things for fun and profit ^_^ Highlight: the other model, a cute cub, was stripped naked except for boots, blindfolded, put in the sling...and had cake served off his belly! I, err, tongued him. Yeah, that's a good PC-friendly word to use. Both with and without the frosting ^_^ Wholesome fun for the entire family.
Saturday was Leather Pride Night proper, an auction fundraiser event to benefit several charities. Read about it here, http://leatherpridenight.org. I was a model, along with about 15 others, displaying the auction goods on stage for audience bidding. I got to model the rim seat, the custom woolen kilt (which I bought myself after the buyer took the certificate for custom sizing instead!), the neoprene hood and the metal stockade. Had a GREAT time and was proud and excited to help some good causes! Sly, a beautiful man of color from Onyx, grabbed my attentions that night. Frequently
Sunday was Folsom Street East. Had hella fun and stayed almost the entire day at the bar. Saw lots of friends, both new, from the Pride Night, and old, and made a few new ones too! (put up 2 pics on XTube of me at Folsom, http://www.xtube.com/community/prof.....user=dinosnake ... )
Maybe next year AC will be back on its normal schedule and it'll be easy for me to go. 2011's Ride from Hell Part 2, the 9-hour bike ride through thunderstorms just to get to Pittsburgh, kinda put me off trying again this year. No problem, the world has a balance - 2 weeks ago I spent TWELVE hours to ride just 300 miles through rain AND cold!
The universe has a sense of humorous irony, I tell you.

Clarifying the gay marriage question
General | Posted 13 years agoFrom user "Tigra07", on theregister.com.
Re: My only question for the idiots against gay marriage is ...
Reminds me of an email i got back when proposition 8 was on the cards in California:
Why Gay marriage is wrong:
1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning. Also apparently those homosexual animals have picked up some unnatural behavier
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

Beat my previous time & speed, but paid for it
General | Posted 13 years agoSaturday I got to bed at 5 A.M. after a night of barhopping. I was woken up at 9:30 and since I was awake decided that I may as well go do a run.
I ran the reservoir loop; I finally got the Garmin Forerunner to GPS lock before I started running, so I not only got accurate timing but accurate pace and distance, as well.
So the Garmin confirmed the distance as quoted by Central Park, 1.56 miles. I did the run, subtracting the climb up the stairs once I activated the timer (22 seconds), in 12:03.
That's 1.56 miles in 12 minutes 3 seconds...or 7.76 MPH for the distance, With under 5 hours of sleep. That's FASTER than an 8-minute miles - that's 7-minute 43-second miles. Considering my age and that I've only been running outside for 3 weeks, that's...pretty impressive, I think.
The problem is that I think I was just too tired. I did the pace but I really wanted to go 2 laps - I only manage 1 before I said "Fine. I'm done". The problem was that my form was messy so apparently I was heel-striking because of the tiredness, as later (for 2 days) my feet were KILLING me.
Ugh.
Yesterday I treated myself to a new pair of FiveFingers, Bikila LS's, so I ran to work today, 2.4 miles but it turned out that the weather forecast was WAY off - "Fog" must mean "Sprinkles" on some planet the weather forecasters live on. It only looked "Cloudy" from my window Since I was prepared and committed anyway, I ran.
The 6 pound pack I had on today hurt my right shoulder, the Forerunner's battery died 8 minutes out and I even slipped and fell on a granite sidewalk that some moron designer put in without traction treading. Grrrr. It wasn't a "good" time, somewhat over 21 minutes I think, but considering wet surface and light rain, falling down and shoulder pain, any run you can complete is a good run
At least my feet don't hurt

The legs are beginning to work right!
General | Posted 13 years agoIt's nice to finally be able to do things with my right leg without pain, or at least complaint from it.
Today was only the 5th time in my life that I've run outdoors, and I've only been "running" for a few years with 1.5 years of THAT "off" due to the leg injury. But I held 8-minute miles for my entire 2.4 mile run today, 2.4 miles @ 20:33 *including* 4 traffic light stops totaling 0:58 plus a few 1 to 2 second 'pauses' for traffic in other locations. So that's a real-life speed of 7.38 MPH over 2.4 miles.
Oh yeah, and that was while I had a 5 pound backpack on, too.
It's nice to start feeling norman again.

Comics coming soon!
General | Posted 13 years agoWe have the next installment of The Adventures of Nugget in the works. Work usually progresses on a "per chapter" basis; once a chapter is complete we will post it.
We're thinking of making a brand-new profile in FA just for Nugget to, well, nugget We'll post chapters (when available) on a twice-per-week schedule either here or on the "Adventures of Nugget" profile (which we'll notify of if that goes through).
More "Boom!" for the buck!!

Holy shiate, I'm "home"
General | Posted 14 years agoI'm sitting here for the first time in almost 3 weeks, eating a plate of edamame while surfing the net. Haven't touched this computer in that long, too, so it has a shiateload of backed-up email attachments to download! It's been working 10 minutes 11 seconds on high speed cable and it STILL hasn't finished downloading it all!
It should feel like home but it doesn't anymore. Wow, it's a nice little place. It's amazing that someone else can take all the glamor...and love...right out of the home you lived in for almost 20 years.
Have to take pictures of things to sell, brought boxes to start packing things. I guess my old life, the life I always knew, is slowly dying and being replaced by something new. Never thought I'd WANT to live in the city, but living there is surprisingly easy compared to the life I had here.
Well, almost finished with the edamame and Outlook as finally finished the download, so I guess it's time to get stuff accomplished. Will I miss this place? Just a few months ago I could not imagine living anywhere else.
Now?
It just doesn't feel like "home" anymore. I want to go HOME. I just want this thing finished and to move on.

Life with Nugget, part 1,326,356a
General | Posted 14 years agoMe: "As you can see, I didn't put the laundry away. I took the night off"
Nugget: "I'll put it away tomorrow"
*absolute silence, with crickets even, as we both ponder that claim*
Nugget: "Don't laugh at me!!"
*both of us burst out spontaneously into hysterical laughter*
Yeaaah, that'll happen sometime soon.

FA? A good question
General | Posted 14 years agoWe were thinking about doing FA this year but some issues may be preventing it. The first, and largest, issue is our moving; we have so much to do and we haven't really started much at all. Focusing on just planning the details and starting the arrangements, not to mention doing the small prep tasks around the new place to get ready for the painters, etc., takes up much of my free thought. I just can't grasp worrying about planning FA.
Then there's the issue of travel and hotel to actually attend FA. I hear that getting a room anywhere around the con is a joke. Is this true? Should I even try?
ChocolateMuscle wants to get away but I feel a bit guilty traveling considering what we're spending on painting, new furniture, repairs, materials and the moving itself. Maybe we should just go anyway and enjoy some time having fun?

General | Posted 14 years agoI finally picked up the DVD containing my pictures from the shoot. Happy happy time! ^_^ I think these came out great and so does the photographer. The images are hoped to be used in an upcoming publication for the benefit of the local GLBT community health center, and I'm very proud and excited to be asked to be a part of it!
As I did not want to violate the AUP policy, you'll find a simple teaser submission (which has been cropped) with a link in a slideshow if you wish to see the set.
I'll admit that my favorites are the two with the tank. The sheen and poses are just awesome
I've kept two images out of the album sldeshow due to adult content but they're available on the web...

Art's happening! New art, some photo shoots...and a question
General | Posted 14 years ago
ChocolateMuscle commissioned the first Nugget comic, 6 pages, for our anniversary. You can view the silly explosiveness, based not-too far from our real lives together at
KazeWolf FA page, http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6796634I will be re-posting them here once I get the artist's permission.
Now, for my "own" art:
Wednesday night I had my first modeling photo shoot. I think it went really well! The session was pretty long, I arrived at the NYC Eagle at 9:05 P.M. and didn't leave until almost 1 in the morning. We did accomplish a lot and had 2 full clothing changes plus masks.
Masks?
Errr, yeah. The photo shoot was an erotic one - not "XXX" but fetish themed. What's the fetish? Rubber! The photo shoot is to hopefully build a book for a charity fundraiser for the largest LBGT community health center here, Callen Lorde. I'm very excited to be a part of it and hope my photos make the cut!
The photographer sent the first test images to me to see what I thought - the neoprene shot is a stunner.
ChocolateMuscle suggests I post it here, and I would like to, but I don't want to violate the AuP. Is it OK to post an artisitic picture, non-adult?Sunday is another shoot, video this time
Getting better
General | Posted 14 years agoSeptember was the worst month of my life. Even worse than the 28 days I spent on my back, pretty unable to even get up or move.
Luckily, October, with the exception of FurFright, wasn't a total loss. I don't have many pictures of FF due to too much of the con being spent picking up the damage from a "friend" who broke the law against us. I missed seeing my commission artist, missed the parade and, overall, didn't get to see as much as I had hoped. But ya try to make lemonade out of the lemons - been doing that for a month.
San Francisco wasn't as great as expected until we, by SHEER accident, bumped into
Frolic.Party. Wow. that ROCKED! Halloween I had a pretty good time, too, but
ChocolateMuscle didn't :( I must figure out some outfit to squeeze him in to so people just can't keep their hands off him ^_^
Many things are still up in the air, unsettled either physically or mentally, and a pall still hangs if I think about Dad, but maybe November will be a quiet one. That would be a nice change - usually Novembers are disasters.
We both would like to continue on with the fursuit project; it'll be a huge one if we go through with it. Hopefully it can even be done considering the ideas, techniques and technologies we're talking about. But it would be super-cool if and when done, so I'm pretty sure we'd like to try.

ChocolateMuscle didn't :( I must figure out some outfit to squeeze him in to so people just can't keep their hands off him ^_^Many things are still up in the air, unsettled either physically or mentally, and a pall still hangs if I think about Dad, but maybe November will be a quiet one.
Halloween Parade
General | Posted 14 years agoThe parade is tonight and I should be there. I usually march in the parade, doing escort work for the 'suiters, but I haven't heard anything this year about people marching. Maybe the NYFurs calendar will show something...?
A better month, so far - FurFright is coming!
General | Posted 14 years agoSeeing that last month was the very worst month of my entire life, I guess it's always good to expect things to get better when you're in the basement. So far, October has been surprisingly OK and...even fun
While in San Francisco I managed to attend
frolic.party and had one of the best times in recent memory! While in SF I was really quite naughty by wearing nothing but rubber and latex for 3 straight days - if the temperature wasn't a bit cool for me I'd had tried the full public nudity thing while out walking
FurFright is coming! Yay! Hope to be there all three days, a first for me. Hope to see old friends and hopefully make some new ones, too. If you're there don't be afraid to walk up andgrab...meat...errrr...meet, scritch and even pounce me, I'm just about like my avatar: shaved head, big goatee and head piercings including the big bar through my nose. Just look for the axe murderer in the crowd - that'll be me
Always friendly and hoping to meet new people!

Introducing: OAESTER! Notes on the art piece and designs
General | Posted 14 years ago
badcoyote has created another piece in the series, commissioned by
ChocolateMusclehttp://www.furaffinity.net/view/6574809/
Oaester, the sexy student lion musician. Check it out!
Just wanted to note the design of the acoustic instrument shown in the image - I created the instrument for this character. It is a 5-string, extended bass-response instrument with a behind-the-back tuned transmission line enclosure, which you don't see because the portrait is direct face-on.
I took some inspiration in the body shape from ancient Greek designs and pushed the idea to the limit, factoring in discussions on how anthro individuals like Oaester might hear things differently than humans.
During discussions of physiology and social constructs with
ChocolateMuscle, we decided that these beings would have increased low frequency sensitivity. This instrument, being 5-strings with only 2 upper-register strings, means that the chord progressions and music notation can be different than ours; add in a (hopefully) very extended low frequency response to this instrument design and you can get a more bass-heavy, 'guttural' and a touch-less-melodic musical style than we are accustomed to as humans.I would love to have such an instrument actually constructed to see what it sounds like. Of course, played by humans, it will have our chord progressions but the low-pass tuned transmission line [should] still change the sound to a merge between 'guitar' and 'stand up bass / bass guitar' sound. Maybe, as a variant, we can double-string it a la a mandolin for an even funkier character.
Fun ideas to play with for the entire family!
Anthrocon 2011! It was fun
General | Posted 14 years agoSo I decided to go to AC this year. Had to take a day off, 1 week before I start my 2 week vacation, in order to make it work but since when do I ask for days off anyway??
Of course, the glutton for punishment that I am, I ONLY wanted to go if I could ride there. And yep, come Friday I packed my saddlebags and went. The 400 mile ride, which should normally take 7 hours...became the 9.5 hour ride from hell. Torrential thundstorm, rain, endless construction zones, 40 minutes worth of re-routing detour...it was all there, and more. Arrived late and wet :(
Anyway, Saturday was a BLAST! Although I missed a discussion board on alternate fursuit materials that my mate told me about because I just arrived too damn late, the rest of the day still rocked. Spent time with old friends
Roochak and
Flatrat to catch up, then went to lunch with
Teh and
Dogbomb and one of their friends. Dogbomb was out of suit! Teh had skinned poor Dogbomb and was wearing his skin like a trophy!! :p
That's SO unnatural! Is it PC to wear someone else's skin while going to lunch?
We ate at Albert Henry's and Teh went off to the bar area to make new friends with fur and squeaky paws :D The food came and I carefully fed Teh through the suit - it was fun! Nom nom
Still, we were having lunch DURING the fursuit parade. Dogbomb and Teh didn't want to suit and be in the parade. :sad face: It was a strange weekend that way - people doing things you wouldn't normally expect. Just...being different.
Spent the rest of the day walking around, and hanging around, the Dealer's Room. Pounced Wyldekyttin and made a few new friends, too :waves hi!!:
Later in the evening I caught a professional photo shoot for some of the most beautifully made suits I've ever seen. I actually sat in on Uncle Kage's Story Hour - yes, GASP!! Me, sitting in on Uncle Kage. I had always previously thought that the attraction to the story hour must be a simple "Cult of Personality" - it's Uncle Kage, it's cool to watch him. No! He's HILARIOUS! No wonder the con empties out to watch him, he's probably the funniest event at the whole con. Now I'll have to catch up on the past year's story hours to see what I missed!
Why didn't anyone TELL ME that he was so funny??!
I also caught the Rooftom Drum Set. Wow! Check out the pictures - the atmosphere up there is INCREDIBLE. It's breathtakingly beautiful on the roof at night. I can't believe that some architect actually designed and integrated such a space into the center for the sole purpose...of being this beautiful. Someone is simply inspired.
Sunday I couldn't do the FurryBikers group ride...as the planner decided to do the ride in the middle of Sunday, the day most people need to leave (like myself, for instance). Spent a few hours with Flatrat and Roochak again, walked around to try to find people to meet (really, I'm friendly! Walk up and scritch / grope me whenever you want!). Ended up leaving at 3 PM, later than I really should have...but who ever wants to really leave??
Not really having PCD, more like severe lack of sleep (chronic nowadays for me, it seems). SLEEEEEEEEP
