Sequence 2-0-1-3 terminated...

Or in other words, Happy New Year to everybody. Hope everyone had a good enough celebration 'n' stuff. And even if you just kinda sat somewhere quietly (like I did) that's cool too. 2013 is gone, which most can agree about being a rather bummer year, and we are going into 2014. Hopefully it's better for everybody.
I don't really have any resolutions for the year. They usually never work out for me, so I just decided to drop the idea. I do have a few things that I want to do, but I'm not going to elaborate on them because I like surprises...that and I don't want to jinx myself. Hope everyone has good luck with their resolutions, though.
In any case, once more, Happy New Year. Let's try and make this one count.

Happy Holidays...
General | Posted 12 years ago...to all of you. Hope everyone has good days and stuff. Fun, food, drink...what have you. Hope everyone enjoys themselves.
Mrowl.
General | Posted 12 years agoI just wanted to get rid of the birthday heading.
So, mrowl.
So, mrowl.
Today...
General | Posted 12 years agoIs my birthday. Apparently. I don't really have much planned overall; in fact, I'll probably just do nothing. I didn't have the chance to get a picture together, but I guess that's okay. Maybe I'll do a late something or other.
As you can see, I'm already off to a riveting celebration. X3
Anyway, I'll say thanks in advance to any well wishes and stuff. I guess I'll see ya around.

May Stuff
General | Posted 12 years agoHi, everybody.
Just wanted to say that my time has been returned to me somewhat. I should be able to post stuff soon. I won't have stuff for everybody immediately, but that will change as time goes on, so please be patient. Thanks for sticking with me through the inactivity.

Soooo...stuff.
General | Posted 13 years agoFirst of all, I completely missed the boat on this. We hit 5,000+ views~ *throws confetti* Thanks to all 5,000 sets of eyes that landed on this page for whatever reason and I will continue to do my best to provide content for you (even though I haven't been doing a good job of that recently, but I'll get into that next). I can only say that I'm pretty surprised about the entire change of tone as far as my art is concerned...but I think I'm pretty comfortable with the direction I'm going in. I feel more freedom. Thanks again and I'm wondering if we'll eventually get to 10,000; only time will tell.
Next, I wanted to apologize for my long strings of inactivity. I would utterly love it if I could update with art every other day or even once a week, but I just get into these wretched lulls where I feel too lazy to art (that's ART). I've been distracted by a lot of things, chiefly among them being school starting again back in January. There have been some other things as well, but those have for the most part cleared up; I may not be able to return to a comfortable pace yet, but I'll try my best. Anyway, I'm sorry there hasn't been much to look at, but I will do my best to remedy my rather stagnant pace.

The Year Ahead...
General | Posted 13 years agoSo...2013, huh? Feels like it was only yesterday that it was 2012 and everyone was afraid (either joking or otherwise) the world was going to end.
All in all, 2012 was pretty "eh" to me. It wasn't terrible but at the same time, I didn't accomplish anything that I had planned to do. I wanted to start a comic or something long-term like that, for example. Didn't get around to it, and I only have laziness to blame. It was a pretty static and uninspired year. Probably the most interesting thing to happen to me this year was joining this place and meeting some cool and fun dooders. That is definitely something to note.
What am I looking for in 2013? I dunno; nothing specific. I probably want to put more thought into certain "life" shit and stop feeling like such a bump on a log all the time. As far as art is concerned, I dunno what I am looking for in 2013. I guess I just want to get better; conquer my fear of backgrounds, maybe get up the drive to do a comic or something, and maybe even...do commissions? I dunno. *shrug*
I guess overall, I'm just looking to be more satisfied with myself this year. I guess we'll see how that goes.
Happy New Year, everyone.

Obligatory Season's Greetings
General | Posted 13 years agoErr, I mean Happy Holidays! Enjoy your time off, enjoy your gifts (if any) and especially, enjoy those holiday dinners! If you get snow, maybe get into a snowball fight or two!
Anyway, simply, Happy Holidays, dooders! I'll be not plotting a global takeover~ (hehe)

So...I got it back.
General | Posted 13 years agoYeah, I'm feeling my creative drive coming back. I guess all it took was me trying to find my path again and I have. I have ideas and all I can do is hope to actually illustrate them. I'll wait until I start posting more regularly again to retouch the info on my account, which you may have noticed has been missing for a good while.
That's pretty much all I wanted to say; I figure if I drag on for too long, the meaning might be lost, hehe. I'll probably also change my avatar pretty soon, but that's pretty irrelevant.
EDIT: Wow, I just wanted to say that I am quite grateful for the vocal support I've gotten. I know I'm no celebrity by any means, but that doesn't stop me from appreciating the love I do in fact receive. Thanks to everyone.

Blah. [UPDATE]
General | Posted 13 years agoFeelin' kinda stale lately; right now, I'm startin' workin' on some requests, but as far as my own stuff is concerned...I need a spark. I'll do some searching in the deepest, darkest, probably most perverse parts of my mind and try to pull something out. I need to be excited again.
I mean, I'm not feeling like "ugh, I don't feel like drawing; I've lost my muse" or anything like that. I'm just...rapidly losing the excitement I usually have for drawing stuff. I'm not entering a slump by any means. I think "apathy" is the best way I can describe how I've been feeling lately, at least in concerns to my own art and the act of drawing stuff.
...I think I know what I should do. I don't feel like drawing other characters particularly; not at the moment. I just want to play more to the part of me that likes adapting, so to speak. I probably will illustrate some new faces at some point; I just want to make sure that I would actually pay attention to them.
I feel like adjusting my stats.
[UPDATE 11/3/12 9:37 PM]
On top of all of this, I feel like crap; I think I'm getting sick. Either that or my allergies are giving me grief; I really hope it's the latter X(

F5 for new avy =3
General | Posted 13 years ago...Yup. That is all. X3 Also, I'm practicing with Sai, which is what this avy was drawn with. Hopefully I'll get something more out of it, though.
Only time will tell.

1000 Page Views!
General | Posted 13 years agoWow, 1000 page views! My first milestone I think; and I have nothing to thank for it but all you guys who have been watching me and enjoying my art! I'll probably draw a milestone picture at some point...until then, thank you so much, guys! I'll see you again if I get to 5,000!
Into a Random Thought
General | Posted 13 years agoI have so many ideas for stuff to draw; it's kinda driving me crazy. Probably the worst part is that I have the potential to forget most of them by drawing any of them! Oh well; I guess I'll just try to put as many of them on paper as possible! The sheer desire to draw stuff has never been this strong before, I assure you...of course, that's not at all a bad thing. I like it, especially when it's all stuff that I actually want to draw. I'm enjoying this so much that I'm quite frightened of the possibility of crashing again; oh well, like anything good, you just have to enjoy it while it lasts.
Getting in a slump is no fun, but it's a fact of being an artist and it happens to even the best (of which, I'm not one ^^;). Although I have to say, that should it happen to me again, I don't think I would have a problem getting out of it much faster than the first time ;).

Pride
General | Posted 13 years agoHey.
So, I've been getting a lot of inspiration and ideas from...a variety of places, actually. They're all related, however, as they have a lot to do with this site and its vast spread of artists and styles. Thank you all for that. First of all, I want to express that I am officially going to be doing art that involves inflation; I've not only been looking at a lot of pictures and finding that I like the style, but I've also been getting some suggestions to try it out. I should have a picture up for that in...well, some time ^^;
I've also received some other inspiration and this leads to a style of art that I was previously kind of on the fence about. But then I remembered that one of my character's simplest and strongest characteristics can be represented by a single word: Pride. Djermengandre is a proud beast; proud of himself and what he is. I do me and I don't really worry too much about if people perceive that in a negative light. If I draw something you don't like, I'd rather you just look in the other direction then get up on a soapbox and tell me all the reasons why you think I'm wrong. I put the appropriate tags on the stuff and leave it up to you to decide whether or not you want to be judgmental.
I've got my fetishes...so you can have yours, alright? I'm no more of a white knight than any of you and you no more me. We are all the same when it comes right down to it, so there's no reason to hide; you just have to know when to puff your chest out and ignore the noise.
Later, furs! :3

Powers?
General | Posted 13 years agoHey there! I was thinking about toying with some elements of my design once again and I started to think to myself "...I kinda want a power or two." So before I start racking my brain to come up with some things that would fit me, I wanted to pose the question to those of you that would be interested enough to answer: if you were me, what kind of powers would you give yourself? I'm limiting myself to two main powers, by the way. This isn't really me fishing for ideas to avoid a brainstorm, but more just me wanting to hear the opinions of others.
So, if you are interested in sharing your thoughts, go right ahead :3

A Sliding Picture Puzzle
General | Posted 13 years agoSo...I am an extremely indecisive artist. If you looked inside my head, you would probably see one of those sliding picture puzzles; you know, the ones where you have to move around the little blocks to finally make a complete picture? The picture in my head is always incomplete and is generally always one square shy of being complete but whenever I try to move that square into place, the entire puzzle resets and I have to do it over again!
That is the best analogy that I can come up with for a rather annoying habit that I have. I am always changing stuff, even when I go through the extra measure of concepting stuff in detail. The problem comes in when I'm coloring a picture and I'm almost done. I end up thinking those three horrible words: "I should have..." I should have done this, I should have done that, and when a picture is almost done and ready to upload to share with you all, I'm not really about to delete what I have done so I can make some arguably minor edits. I just wait until the picture is done for that.
In the end, i could put my foot in my mouth all day over this problem that I have, but I guess in the end I could just attribute it to a really active brain that's always wanting to evolve things. I also can think of it as letting everyone who wants to see experience my own kind of concepting process. I see what works, see what displeased me about what I posted, and then you see me change those things in another picture. Annoying for you I'm sure (be honest X3), but even more annoying for me, if it does annoy you.
So basically, if something seems different from last time, don't be alarmed. This is completely normal. Its just the puzzle moving around again. However, I'll make sure that I keep things as consistent as possible.
Have a nice day :3

Some introductory info!
General | Posted 13 years agoWow! The positive force I'm feeling after posting my first full picture is overwhelming! Thank you for such a warm welcome, guys ^w^
Anyway, I though I would put out some info about myself; I thought about posting this in the description for the picture, but I figured it'd be better to do it in a short journal entry.

Hello there! Who am I?
General | Posted 13 years agoWho am I? In character, I'm a ten-foot-tall, obese monster who likes to run around, have fun and unintentionally cause trouble for others in the form of collateral damage with his large body.
Out of character, I'm just a normal guy who enjoys drawing and creating characters. I've created lots of characters (though admittedly, I haven't got around to drawing all of them) but my absolute favorite is the one I've called Djermengandre Demonquake. You will see him soon enough. Anyway, more info. I was born and raised in the US and I didn't really have too many inspirations to draw; I just started doing it. I pretty much started with doodles in my notebooks at school and it pretty much took off from there. I really like action-y, anime-style art and I often draw a mix between beastly characters and human characters (though, considering that I'm here, it may well be obvious which one I enjoy more). "Mature" art really isn't my thing, but I surely don't condemn or point fingers at people who do enjoy it; everyone has there own styles and feelings and as an artists, I damn sure do respect that.
I'm actually more fond of cartoonish, crude humor; large butts, flatulence jokes and stuff like that. The character that I mentioned earlier is actually built around these things. Umm...I guess that's pretty much it. Whatever I don't say here will be conveyed by my art later. Rather than copy-pasting my works from DA immediately, I'm going to start working on something more exclusive to this gallery. Until then, see you around.
